After almost successfully finishing my Excel Saga collection, I decided to buy Ai Yori Aoshi. The series itself is displayed nicely and the animation is excellent. But, the reason to watch it is not for insane antics that a series like Love Hina has to offer, its for character development. The show revolves around the character's lives, and it seems that the romance aspect outweighs the comedy by far. I only have the first volume so I can't tell if this will change. For now, I can truly say that the series has a lot to offer, but needs more of your attention than other types of series in the Romance-Comedy genre.

6 years ago, before Toonami was popular, younger me was very upset because my best friend moved to another state. I was in the school parking lot one day when a boy from my class mentioned a show by the name of "Tenchi Muyo." I inquired him about it, we talked a lot after that, and became extremely close friends (still to this day). After he showed me the series I was hooked on the wonderful art form known as anime. I'm afraid its affects are irreversible. I'm totally hooked on it. Sad to some, interesting to others, it doesn't matter either way. As long as there is anime, an otaku is what I will stay. So, thats is how I am the fan I am now. I guess coincidences really can turn into something major. (BTW, I know this is off topic, but Endymion your banner is awesome :) )

It is great! :D The only thing that scares me about Naruto and Shonen Jump all together is that you get X amount of manga pages for only 5 dollars. It's strange, yet beneficial to people because its affordabale.:)

That was a great poem. It just goes to prove love is an extremely strong emotion. (BTW, sorry about your loss, :( )

The films are classic and there is nothing else to it. They're great because of this. I enjoy them even though sports do not interest me too much. The spirit of courage and bravery captured in them is something many films try to recreate, but they just don't work like Rocky did. If I had to choose a favorite, the 4th would be without a doubt. It was the most emotional next to the first one.
Originally posted by anime_gurl I respect the show for being better than most of the crappy cartoons that Nickelodeon puts out now, but I really don't see the appeal.
I agree. Nickelodeon pushes some of the worst animations on the market to the public. SpongeBob,Rocko's Modern Life, and the Fairly OddParents seem to be an exception. Cartoon Network (even though I hold a slight grudge over what they did Kenshin) puts much better trademark shows on the air. They just seem to be more engrossing and logical.

Gaming The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
TheDarkOtaku replied to ThePikasElbow's topic in Noosphere
I have to agree, Zelda: The Wind Waker is an excellent piece of gaming; however, I'm not sure if it rivals OoT or Link to the Past. I have to play through more of it to have a final conclusion, but OoT will probably still remain my favorite. It holds a special place in my heart for some reason. -
Pokemon fever has caught me again!!! :D I can't get enough of this game. I only have 2 badges because I have to divide my time between Age of Mythology, Wind Waker, and this, but its still great. Hopefully school will slow down soon and the work load will be less. Then I can play for hours on end!!! :cross:

Well, I like the show but it gets extremely immature at times. I think its great other than that. The nautical theme is pretty unique compared to other American animations.

While searching the web the other day I came across the announcement that Bandai will be releasing Onegai (or Please in English) Teacher soon. I'm happy considering Bandai usually does a great job with their animes. I've heard of this series before and of the small amount of knowledge I know about the show, it seems to be pretty funny. Who else is interested or thinking about purchasing it?
Originally posted by JCBaggee Boy, where have you been 0_o Gere has did a movie once where he played a lawyer that I seem to remember doing very well. I believe it was "Primal Fear", but I don't quite remember. Richard Gere is an excellant actor, and all the charachters are, as far as I'm concerned, cast perfectly (Mrs. Zeta-Jones especially, since she has prior experience as a Broadway singer). --Chris
I'm sorry everyone, my previous post was not worded as clearly as it should've been. I totally agree with you! :) Richard Gere is an excellent, excpetional actor. His job in Chicago was superb, especially since he has no past experience with broadway. It was not till' recently that Richard Gere's great performance struck me. However, there might've been some better alternatives like I mentioned. All in all, the cast had wonderful chemistry. So, to wrap up my post, I'm sorry about my other reply. I should've really pondered about the film more closesly before jumping to conclusions. ;)

I'm sorry and no offense to any of the members here, but I RESENT parties, dances, and social gatherings that involve stupidity. I can't imagine why people of my age (15) must go out and experiment with dangerous objects/substances/girls. It is so immature and should be monitored more closely by authorities. I have never ever been to a party like that, nor do I plan to. My idea of having a fun social night is getting a couple of friends, going to my house, and watching all the anime or playing all the video games we can while eating popcorn like crazy. Yes, it may seem sad to some. But nevertheless its fun. :D I would reccomend you do stuff like that as a positive approach to your situation. Remember dude, having a good time with peers should be non-detrimental your life. That is why people who push narcotics, alchohol, and girls are not friends. This concludes my rant/advice post. :)

I like J-Rock except, I don't know any band names. Lol. I listen to some stuff my friend has but I never asked him what bands they are yet. I'm going to soon. Needless to say, I enjoy what I've heard though. I think being a fan of rock in general is why I like it.
Originally posted by Syk3 I havn't had any rumors about me going around school lately, and I havn't heard many about other people either. I guess either my school doesn't spread a lot of rumors, or I'm never in some group to hear it. Last rumor I heard was of my friend who got suspended for 10 days for drinking, and all these rumors were going around that the suspension also included mixing drinks (alchoholic drinks, that is), selling knives, and selling drugs or something. I know most of them arn't true though. I suppose the last rumors spread were from back a couple years with these two kids...but I don't really want to talk about that. ^_^ Instead, I want to tell you my idea of getting rid of some of these rumors. Taking from that kid I mentioned who got suspended, I recommend just going along smoothly with the rumors. If someone confronts you about one, act serious, but with a little smile, and say "Yup" and agree to everything to the extent that people can tell that there is no possible way that it can be true, and that you are joking. If you don't come off as a joker, however, just laugh at them when they ask if a rumor is true, and really exagerate the rumor. Like, TheDarkOtaku was saying how people were spreading rumors about him worshiping his video game consoles. I'd say just laugh out loud, and say something like "Yup, I keep a seperate room for my consoles and bow down to them every night." *shrug* Try those kinds of things if you havn't, but if they don't work, then just think of something creative to say to them in the form of a comedic come-back.
Yep, great point Syk. :) I always say stuff like "ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY GAMECUBE!" or "PS2 SHALL REIGN FOREVER!" Even though it may seem childish, it works.;) I would also try this approach. Helped me a lot.

Well I'm definitely looking forward to Inuyasha for the PSone. Even though it isn't the most major release, I still think it will be worth the wait. As for a major release, I'll have to say Breath of Fire 5. The series in general is great so it has to be good.

It's better than its predecessor in my opinion. The umbrella scene (for anyone who has seen it) will be something Jackie Chan will be remembered for. It was great. The action and comedy was fit in just perfectly throughout the film. Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan have great chemistry together. This is definitely one to see and to keep when it's released. :)

Picked up my copy of the game and so far I am enjoying it just as much as I did when it was first released. Definitely worth the little bit of extra money. Ocarina of Time has to be one of the best Zelda games out there. It never gets boring, and this is my fourth time playing it full through.

Anime Kare Kano: His and Her Circumstances
TheDarkOtaku replied to Magnum Apex's topic in Otaku Central
From what I've seen so far, IT'S GREAT. I mentioned before how I love romance/comedies, so of course this would be a title I'm interested in. Now just to finish collecting Excel Saga so I can purchase more volumes of this series when they're released. :) -
Rumors. Boy oh boy, I have had over ten people this year spread rumors about me. First it was that I had no life and I worshiped my video game consoles (yeah, right  Like that's really true.) Next was I wanted to fight all the "gangsta" kids when I don't even know who half these people are. I mean, I don't want to fight nor did I say anything to that extent. All I said was leave me alone. My point is, rumors are very annoying and if anything gets too serious I would report it to a school official immediately.

I also dislike Renee Zellwegger in that role . Good point BabyGirl. She is disgusting. Lol. And Steve Martin should've played Roxie's lawyer( although he might've stolen the show). But I also give it an A+. Great musical and I highly reccomend it. :)

I'm a big fan of musicals, and love to enjoy them whenever I get a chance. I know its an "acquired taste" to like Broadway, but my family has always been into plays and I was raised with shows such as Little Shop of Horrors and Oliver. I guess you could consider it a family "trait". When Chicago came out, I felt akward to see it. Bob Fosse always mixed great lyrics and music to his unique style of dancing (which in my opinion is strange). But after seeing this, I really experienced how great his work can be. Of course some of the actors were not casted correctly I think (RICHARD GERE AS A LAWYER DUDE? PLEASE...), but all in all it was a great experience, especially if you can't see Broadway shows and want to experience one without traveling. So, did anyone else see it? Comments? :)

Did anyone else hear this news? EVA, DAI-GUARD, AND NADESICO will be shown during CN's giant robot week. I'm sorry, but this nauseates and infuriates me.:flaming: Even though they will choose episodes lacking offensive material, there will still be raging fundamentalists over all the Christian "innuendos" in EVA. Cartoon Network insists on ruining good anime. They are buying every show for cryin' out loud! Trigun, now this, Lupin....what are anime fans who are vets or experienced to watch now without being considered "one of the crowd"? Even though this block will only be for a week, it's still appauling. I think Cartoon Network should stick with DBZ and what they have now, and leave shows that are truly revered in the community, such as Nadesico, to fans who are dedicated and willing to experience more buy purchasing or renting it. Any opinions? Comments against me welcome. :p
She'll be on "Celebrity Boxing" in a couple years.
LOL! That was a good one, I'm sorry, it's too funny. Your right though, all the losers who are one hit wonders go on that show. lol. I can't stop laughing. It's a strange thought to picture....

Considering my mom is obsessed with this show and I've been "converted" to a fan since the end of last season's, I guess I'll be watching it. I really hate pop and rap, but Simon is just too much. He makes it worthwile. :D

It's a good show but the other day's episode had some extremely brutal violence that I thought was pointless. I'm not a fan of police/detective shows but this one seems to perk my interest. Theres a lot more action in it than some of the other ones that are broadcast.
