Anime The newly discovered King of Sayians

Here's what I wondering:

If Vegeta's dad died and he was the king of all sayians and Vegeta's the prince would'nt that make Vegeta king now? And Trunks would be the new prince and Bra the princess!

Yes, it would, but Vegeta was never proclaimed the King of Saiyans. He was never.."promoted" to that level of authority. He is still the Prince and that'll probably never change.

well i think vegeta knows that his dad is dead. i think he was there when he died. i dont really remember if he did or not, but i think he was there when he died.

I think he is neither because there is no planet any more, but when the planet was destroyed he held the title of "PRINCE OF ALL SAIYANS". So he just keep it.

Yes but notice SAIYANS no one said anything about him being the prince of the plant(even though he is)

Yes he is the only one that said it but he was the only one that needed to. Nappa was scared of him. And his father was the king and he had the same name as the planet.(not a coincidence)

Well without a coronation that really doesn't give fact to his title.

And really being the king would mean he'd more than likely have to prove himself and his strength to his race as the most powerful, which is has failed miserably in.

Besides...6 saiya-jins(including part saiya-jins) isn't much to rule over..--;

ah but i believe he does get promoted in the dbz movie 8. when paragas (even though faking it) came to earth and even said vegeta was king and called trunks specificly prince trunks.

The only thing they really have in common is that they are from the same series.[/size]

There are two good reasons I can think of for why Vegeta is never called the "king" of sayians.

1) He was never properly coronated as the king. Meaning he is not an official king and cannot take the title.

2) Calling himself a prince places him higher then Goku (sating his ego), but not in a posistion of authority. He never really forces his decisions on Goku in a fight, unless it proves necessary. Even then he will not enforce them unless Goku is down or things go bad.

Well, I am not quite sure about this one. yeah, techniquely, if Vegeta's dad did die, then it would mean the Vegeta's the king and Bra and Trunks the Prince and Princess. Though there isn't a planet for them to govern so I guess it really doesn't matter.

who really cares? There are only 2 saiyans left, and if he IS king, I doubt Goku Would listen to him.

Thats not much to rule over.
And Vegeta hates to think about his father's death, and doesn't want to take his father's role.

[color=blue]If we really want to get technical about Vegeta being the prince of the Saiyans then here are the reasons why he's not king:

1.)Vegeta never had a coronation to be King, therefore without one he still remains a prince.

2.)There is no planet to rule over anymore, therefore in reality he's not even a prince.

3.)Planet Vegeta was inhabitied by the Tuffles (Tsfujins) before the Saiyans hostily took over the planet. Therefore even then Vegeta is an ilegitamite Prince and King since the planet that once he and his father ruled over wasn't there's to begin with.[/color]

Vegeta would only be a king of a handful of Saiyans anyway. He can call himself the king of saiyans if he wants to probably his father is dead. I just dont think he would want to do that since he had respect for his father. Plus like you all had said earlier, he has to be given a proper ceremony to be king anyway.

Thats not really true, because you see Goku isn't very smart because he never went to school, not because hes a Saiyan.
what about Gohan? or Trunks (future)?

hmmm...I have thought of this before but I've never really come to a conclusion. So I really think that he is the Prince of Saiyans, since he was never properly crowned king. But hereditarily, he would be the King of all Saiyans. But it really doesn't matter because there is no kingdom to rule over. He just uses the title to build his ego.

Well i think there is a couple of reasons
1- he was never crowned
2- he didnt want to believe his dad was dead
3- there is not planet to be king of
4- theres only 2 sayians

These are my opinoins of why he's not
