Welcome to Otaku Graphica 2004, the ultimate graphics contest of Otakuboards to date (or so I think? :^o). Anywho, in this contest, eight competitors will be going against one another in numerous rounds by creating a specific type of graphic. The graphics the people must make will vary in styles and themes so prepare (no drawing talent is needed for this). Each round, the judges (Boo, OtakuSennen, and myself) will eliminate one person and then go to the next round. Note that you will get several days to make a graphic for each round so no need to rush things. Art takes time. But first things first. Your main priority at the moment is to become one of the eight that even get to compete. What you must do is post a signup in this thread. All you must include is one sample graphic [i]you've[/i] made in the past or made special for this competition (or if you have a time machine, a graphic you made in the future ;)). Make sure this graphic is one of your best since it does determine if you get into the competition. Only eight are selected from the entries. I'm giving everyone 'til the 28th of June to post a signup. After then, registering is done. Either on the 28th or 29th, the eight will be chosen and round 1 will begin. Oh, and don't even think about having your entry graphic like a banner that has something like "Dragon Warrior is a Sexy Beast." If it's not any good, it won't get you far (though I will be flattered :P). So if you think you're good at banners or avatars or even movie posters, let's see how you stand against others. Who knows. You may be the last graphic designer standing after the final round. So do signup and get ready for some intense graphic-makin'. I'm not sure if they are going to use it yet, I made it onyl last night! I compsoed it by merging existing pictures of the cars and city, and creatign what I think the weapons sleector/stats and map might look like. It's a mock up of the 3rd GTA:SA city, Las venturra. While at first glance it may look like I didn't do too much with my entry there were actually a variety of subtle things that were done to the two images in order to make them blend right and make the poster look movie-like. All in all making the poster was actually quite fun and i'm pretty pleased with the results of my "1337ness" (j/k). *Note I was actually done with this yesterday I just could never post it because I was busy setting up my new computer >_>'* Now that I think about it if any of you can set your monitors to a screen resolution higher than 1024x768 I reccomend you look at my poster like that >_<, it looks so much better because the small text which was meant to be unreadable is just that; unreadable.
