Make a Band

Hmm. I got this from the thirteendeadkids board.

I dunno if we've already had one of these but here's how it goes.
If you're into music you've obiously wondered how two people would sound if they played in the same band. Build youy dream band here.
Basically you can choose anyone in music eer and you have to form a band with at least 3 members and at most 9. The one thing though is that the people you put in it must be able to play the instrument you assign them.

Here's mine.

Vocals: Rob Zombie
Drummer: John Dolyman (System of a Down)
Guitar 1: Acey Slade (Murderdolls, Dope)
Guitar 2: Matt "Pigg" Motgomery (Wednesday 13, Amen)
Bass: Siggy (Powerman 5000)

I dunno. I picked my favorites from my favorite bands. Siggy, Pigg, and Acey would work well together because they're all into playing really fast unique. Rob is friends with Pigg. He might make Acey grow a beard :animeswea
John is my only real big concern. He worked with Scum of the Earth so he's used to the horror type scene but meh. His devotion is to System of a Down so he'd have to switch between both bands which than eventually would probably leave. His replacement would be Nick Oshiro because Nick likes the fast pace.

I like this thread. :)

Vocals: Anthony Green (Saosin, Circa Survive, The Sound of Animals Fighting)
-or Shawn "Dr Extremus Melodicus" Pelata (Line of Fire, extra vocals on a couple of KILLWHITNEYDEAD songs)
Guitar 1: Claudio Sanchez (Coheed and Cambria)
Guitar 2: Drew "Drewcifer" Speziale (Circle Takes the Square)
Guitar 3: Omar Rodriguez-Lopez (The Mars Volta, At the Drive In)
Bass: Laura ______ (Kylesa)
Drums: Blake Richardson (Glass Casket)

Pure prog-rock bliss. Too bad this band would self destruct in a month. Anthony would give up and go back to one of his hundreds of side-projects. Drew would shave Claudio's hair in his sleep. Cluadio would get pissed off and leave as all of his fans commit suicide, and the ones that remain would struggle to find new members and eventually die out.

Oh well, that's why there's this thread.

I like I like...

Vocals/Piano: Burton Cummings (The Guess Who, the Randy Bachman Band)

Guitar One/Backup Vocals: Gordon Lightfoot (Solo Artist)

Guitar Two/Backup Vocals: Bruce Cockburn (Solo Artist)

Guitar Three/Backup Vocals: Randy Bachman (The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, the Randy Bachman Band)

Bass/Keyboards/Backup Vocals: Geddy Lee (RUSH, My Favourite Headache)

Drums: Neil 'The Professer' Peart (RUSH)

An all-star cast, in my opinion. Burton's vocals are just amazing, and his pianoplaying rivals Elton John... Lightfoot and Cockburn are some of the best folk-rock singers and guitarists too ever live, and Rancy Bachman is just Randy-*******-Bachman. Amazing all-round. Geddy Lee is the AUTHORITY on bass, one of the best keyboardists alive, and just amazing on vocals. The Professer is, handsdown, the best rock guitarist alive. He's also right the lyrics.

A very good mix of Rock and Folk that can bring a tear too your eye one second and than get you flowing with their rock N' roll.

Cool, Cool

Vocals: Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) or Bon Scott (Acca Dacca or AC-DC)
Guitar+Back up Vocals: Randy Bachman (Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Bass+Back Up Vocals: Tobin Esperance (Papa Roach)
Guitar 2: Angus Young (AC-DC)
Drums+Back up Vocals: Dave Buckner (Papa Roach)
Saxophone and Third Guitar: Kirk Pengilly (INXS)

I myself think that mine is a fairly strong line up also. Mike Shinoda and Bon Scott were two of my choices for vocalists because Mike Shinoda is multi-talented, He can play piano well, rap and sing while who the hell can say no to Bon Scott.
I have the same reason behind picking Randy Bachman as Illium and also because he is awesome. The two Papa Roach guys I chose because Tobin Esperance he writes the music for Papa Roach and also because the two are awesome.
Angus Young and Kirk Pengilly are also choices because they play on some of my favourite songs around so no dissapointment there.

Vocals: Jon Davis (KoRn) and Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Manson). I've always felt that they'd complement each other well. Don't ask me why, call it a hunch.
Drums: John, from my school (don't know his band's name. I think they're calling themselves 'Cause for Concern', but it's changing). You've never heard him on drums, but he is the best drummer I've ever heard. Ever. His current band does him no justice.
Lead Guitar: Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, Kyuss). He's awesome. What can I say?
Rhythm guitar: Brian Welch (KoRn, now solo). Sure, he's a Bible basher now, but he played mean guitar. Since guitar is a rhythm instrument in KoRn, he'd be perfect.
Bass: Someone appropriate? My knowldege of bassists is sketchy. lol

I think this band would be very hard rock. Yumm.

Awesome thread topic!!! :animesmil

RiflesAtRecess has the best band so far, IMO.

Here's mine (kinda crazy, but I think it'd be soooo cool!):

Vocals 1: Tony Kakko (Sonata Arctica)
Vocals 2: Tarja Turunen (Nightwish)
Vocals 3: Michael Åkerfeldt (Opeth, Bloodbath)
Guitar 1: Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom, Sinergy)
Guitar 2: Yngwie Malmsteen (Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force)
Guitar 3: Jesper Strömblad (In Flames, Hammerfall)
Bass: Marco Hietala (Sinergy, Nightwish)
Keyboard 1: Trollhorn (Finntroll)
Keyboard 2: Thuomas Holopainen (Nightwish)
Drums: Jaska Raatikainen (Children of Bodom)

Ha ha, 10 people! Slipknot, eat your heart out!

Here's my logic, though. I've got 3 vocalists. Tony Kakko has amazing range and incredible technique. Tarja Turunen also has amazing skill. Her voice is just beautiful. The two would compliment each other perfectly. Michael Åkerfeldt has not only a beautiful, haunting, soothing, melodic voice, he's also got the most brutal, gutteral death growl EVER. Therefore, depending on what kind of vocals were needed at which point in the song, they could switch from male to female, clear to growl, high vibrato to soft and haunting. Brilliant!

Next, I've also got 3 guitarists. Each has slightly different techniques. Alexi Laiho is a wild and crazy guitarist. I swear, the guy probably craps solos! He has a very keen sense of melody as well. Yngwie Malmsteen would be there to balance this out with his calculated, precise guitar attack. His Neo-Classical stylings will also bring a special depth to the music. Jesper Strömblad is the master of sweeping riffs and harmonies. He'd provide the epic, massive riffs upon which Alexi and Yngwie would shred!

Marco Hietala is on bass because he kicks *****. Plain and simple. He knows when to be subtle, and where to put a blistering bass riff. Plus, he looks like a Viking.

There's two keyboardists on the roster. Trollhorn is in the mix to add Folk elements. No-one can match him when it comes to putting in flute or accordian effects. He puts the fun into the music! Thuomos Holopainen, on the other hand, would develop symphonic elements. If you know anything about his work, you know what I mean. E-P-I-C!!! With just his keyboard, he makes it seem like there's an entire symphony behind the band!

Jaska Raatikainen is on drums. He's fast and precise, and can solo like a mofo.

I'd probably have Trollhorn write the lyrics (in English, though). He seems like the best candidate for writing about Vikings, pirates, elves, dragons, and the like.

Yup, that's my band! STAY HEAVY! \m/ (>.<) \m/
