Kiruna felt kinda left out with the surfing lessons taking place between Skye and Paul. He waited his turn in the lineup, caught a few more waves and then promptly returned to the beach. The effects of Katie leaving still lingered in his mind, but it was the thought of Steph and other guys that bothered him. Jacob, yeah sure... Kiruna didn't mind. They were brothers practically and Kiruna didn't really regard Jacob in any sort of ill tone. It was Paul he had problems with. The guy was rude, arrogant, and didn't seem to have any sort of respect for anyone, much less Kiruna's "sister". Kiruna paused to think about things.

'Why am I all of a sudden thinking this? What's gotten into my head? All I think about is Skye!' Kiruna wandered off, and Inuko shouted after him

"Kiru-Kun! Where are you going?!"

Kiruna just casually waved his hand and walked off, brooding. This was totally unlike his nature. Kiruna was never the brooding type. He was an introspective person, sure...but brooding? Kiruna had no idea how to deal with these sudden emotions. He just walked aimlessly along the beach. Suddenly, he could hear Skye's voice trailing behind him. His heart stopped....

"Kiru-kun! WAITTTTT!!!"

Kiruna turned around, heart pounding like a double bass drum beat. His throat was dry and it felt like he had a apple lodged in his throat...

"Why'd you leave so fast?" Skye asked, out of breath.

"No particular reason...just was tired of surfing is all"

"You're dodging stuff Kiru-kun...what's the matter?"

"Nothing" Kiruna said, trying to avoid the truth of his pains...

"C'mon bro, you're my friend...you just need to tell me...you can tell me anything!" Skye said, kind of annoyed by Kiruna's avoidance of the subject....

"Well...I dunno, I saw you out there with Paul and I just kinda lost it"

"Lost it? Why?" Skye said with a quizzical look on her face.

" I don't know, but ever since you arrived I've had these weird thoughts and feeligns swirling around in my head...I just don't know how to deal with it all at the moment...it's very unsettling."

Skye stood there, baffled.

"Uhm....what are you getting at bro?" She eventually stammered out.

"Well...Skye....I uhm....."

Jacob stood by as Skye attempted to teach Paul how to surf, smiling as he failed miserably. It wasn't that he had anything against Paul (though he personally thought he was a self-absorbed ass), but seeing his closest friend and occasional girlfriend interact like that with him sent a sharp stream of jealousy right through his heart.

It was reflecting on those feelings that made him miss for a moment the fact that she had run after Kiruna, who was himself running off to nowhere in particular. He fell with a thunk back into reality and walked at a brisk pace after the two of them.

He arrived within earshot just in time to hear, "...I uhm..." but Kiruna saw him approaching and suddenly shut his mouth.

"What going on? Something wrong?" Jacob stood next to Skye and gave Kiruna a worried look, making the two of them standing next to each other look like a comedy duo.

"No, no, nothing at all!" Kiruna quickly reassured them.

Skye would have none of it, "Hey, wait..." she stopped as she realized it perhaps was not wise to have this conversation around Jacob.

OOC: I'm going to assume that the three-way conversation is winding down, since Skye doesn't want to continue in front of Jacob. If that isn't ok then feel free to do whatever you like with this post.

Paul flopped back down onto his towel, defeated and slightly sore. He wanted to dig a hole in the sand and crawl into it for a few days, until he had forgotten about his recent embarassment.

Hold on. Maybe I'm being a bit overdramatic here. I mean, lots of people try to surf and fall down, right? Paul's apprehension began to abate a little, until Inuko walked up to him from the water.

"Man! You sure do stink at surfing!" She exclaimed in the same cheery and sardonic tone as before. Her smile drove him over the edge.

Paul stood up quickly and began to storm away, back towards the hotel. Inuko began to call after him in a mocking tone.

"Aw! Come on, tough guy! Don't go!"

Paul stopped in his tracks. Terrible words began to build up in his throat. It took all of his energy and willpower to swallow them down again and continue walking. He felt dizzy from the effort of not verbally attacking this insufferable girl.

Paul was halfway between the beach and the hotel's large outdoor pool when the ocean breeze carried a voice to his ear.

"-and don't worry about paul. You honestly think I could see anything in that meat-head?"

The words cut through him like a knife. Paul turned towards the beach to see Jacob, Kiruna, and Skye talking and smiling together. The voice he heard had definitely belonged to Skye.

That was the icing on the cake. All of Paul's anger and attitude rushed out of him like floodwater. Replacing these emotions were feelings of sadness and fatigue.

I need to get to my place, need to lie down for a bit. Maybe get something to drink... Paul thought to himself as he trudged back to the hotel and made his way back to his penthouse.

OOC: Drat, I waited too long :(
~~~~~~~~
Kiruna had talked to Skye about his problems, but he never really let the cat out of the bag as far as his feeligns towards her went. He had told her that he'd be reeling over the breakup and that he just wasn't feeling up to relationships and that seeing Skye after all this time had reignited something within him.
Kiruna left a lot of things unsaid. Lots of things that he wanted to admit about Skye. He hadn't said it, but he loved her. He had merely thought of her as a sister, but she had become more than that...she had become a lover. Someone Kiruna could spend his life with.
"I dunno Skye, it's just I can't stand to see you get treated bad...especially with guys like Paul"
"Oh don't worry hun, I won't let that happen! And don't worry about Paul, you honestly think I could see anything in that meathead?" she meant the last part jokingly. Paul had seemed to ease up a little, but Kiruna was still unsure of him.
"Umm....ok Skye. I trust you." Kiruna said.
'I didn't say what I wanted to though....darn'
She sat on the beach on her towel. She felt the breeze go past her. She watched the others in the group who were out in the water. Skye was teaching one of them how to surf, and then afterwards he fell off. She watched him as he got up and stormed off. Then he stopped when someone else started talking to him, only to start back up even angrier than before. She looked back at the group in the water wondering what had happened. Katie got up and started walking for the water. When she got there, she looked at them and simply asked.
"What happened to him?" She stuck her thumb backwards indicating she meant Paul as he walked off back towards the hotel.
Kiruna stood there, just pondering what had happened as the waves crashed around him. This was only day one and the day had gone so rocky. He had met new people and experienced drama in the same day, so it was a mixed boquet of emotions for him. He was once again snapped out of his thought streak by Skye.
"Kiru-kun! You gonna stand there or get pounded by the waves?"
Kiruna smiled and ran towards the beach. Him and Jacob casually talked about major sports events and video games (Jacob's favorite subject, which he seemed to major in). Skye chimed in whenever she could. Lookin at the three of them, you could tell what kind of bond they had. Inuko snuck behind Kiru and jumped on his back. He carried her piggyback while she screamed out "Wheeee!!" like a child. Kiruna felt at ease here. This was his element.
But this was not meant to last forever. After bidding the ladies and gentlemen a good evening, Kiruna went towards his room to find Paul stumbling across the hall. Kiruna naturally ran over to see what was the matter.
"Paul, you ok?" After seeing his classmate, Kiruna could smell the alcohol on his breath. Paul got back to his feet.
"SO WHY ARE YOU SOO SPECIAL HUH?! WHY DOES SHE LIKE YOU SO MUCH!" Paul accused, digging his finger into Kiruna.
"Who Skye? Dude, I've known her for years. She's a nice girl and she wouldn't hurt anyone on purpose."
"Bull! You think I dunno what she said? How can a meathead like me be loved?"
"But Paul she was just...."
"ENOUGH!" Paul said as he took a swing at Kiruna. Kiruna dodged easily. Paul was too drunk to even stand, let alone fight.
"Paul STOP! I don't want to fight you. "
Paul kept swinging at Kiruna wildly. It was clear to Kiruna that Paul wasn't gonna stop. He was out for blood. Kiruna readied himself and waited for Paul. Paul swung wildly again and Kiruna grabbed his arm and put it in standing armbar postion. He fell to the ground with it and started to torque it. Paul howled out in pain.
"Are you gonna stop? I'll break it if you don't!"
Paul continued to struggle. 'I can't believe him!' Kiruna said. Kiruna took Paul's wrist and put it near his shoulder and pivoted around to Paul's abdomen. He punched it once, and Paul was immediately knocked out. Kiruna got up, brushed himself off and got the hotel conceirge to call the ambulance.
Inuko was walking back to the hotel from the beach. She sighed heavily as she entered the elevator. Maybe I went too far with that Paul person. she thought sadly. As the elevator doors opened, she saw her cousin, Kiruna punch a restrained Paul in the stomach. "Kiruna! What did you just do to Paul, you jerk?!" Inuko shouted.
"Ah! Inuko it's not that, I just-" Kiruna stuttered.
"Save it! I'm going to go get some help, and then I'm gonna....I'm gonna...TELL YOUR MOM!!! YEAH!" Inuko blurted out in a rage. She turned red, partially from anger, partially from embarrassment. Tell his mom?! What was I thinking?! Inuko thought. She quickly turned around and went back into the elevator to go get help.
Skye was just about to get on the elevator when Inuko spilled out of it, face red and blustering from anger. Taking her friend by the shoulders, she shook her. "Inni-chan, what's wrong? Slow down, hon." She waited while her friend took a deep breath.
"Kiruna just got in a fight with Paul!"
Skye blinked in surprise. "Where are they, upstairs?"
Inuko nodded emphatically. Skye sighed and then slid into the elevator just as it closed.
As she stepped off the elevator, she saw Kiruna's door open and rushed in to see Paul unconcious on the bed. Kiruna looked up, a pained expression on his face.
"Skye? Skye, I didn't mean to, I just-"
Skye smiled softly and shook her head, cutting him off.
"Kiru-chan, it's fine. I just want to know what happened."
"He was drunk. He heard the joke you made earlier and thought you meant it; so he took it out on me."
Skye's face went white. As Kiruna finished his sentence, Paul began waking up. He rolled over and puked on the floor. Skye rushed to his side, and told Kiruna to get some water and a cold, damp cloth. Paul continued to puke up his guts until he rolled back on his back, eyes closed. Skye quickly called room service. "We need someone to come up to our room to clean up a mess."
Hanging up, she looked at her new friend, worriedly. "Paul? Paul, are you okay?"
Paul looked at her, then shut his eyes and winced. Kiruna came back, and set the water on the side table, stepping around the mess. Skye placed the cool cloth on his forehead."You don't have to talk, Paul, just listen. I didn't mean what I said. You're not a meathead; you're a great guy, a really good friend. I just pick on my friends. I wouldn't pick on you if I didn't like you; Hell, iwouldn't even talk to you if I thought you were really a meathead. I just... I'm kind of already seeing someone, okay? I'm sorry if you thought otherwise."
When Paul refused to respond, Kiruna motioned that he wanted to talk to Skye outside. She got up and followed him into the hallway.
"Skye-chan, I wanted to tell you this, but I don't want it to mess with our relationship. I like you, Skye, a lot. Like, as more than friends."
Skye had a look of genuine shock on her face.
"But listen, don't think about it, it's still kind of overwhelming me, too. I don't mean to think of you like that."
"I don't know what to say, Kiruna."
Her voice was soft. "Take care of Paul, okay? I'll meet you guys around seven for dinner, okay?"
Skye then disappeared down the hall and into her apartment, locking it behind her.
Inuko was back upstairs. But she was sitting in her room. Maybe I jumped to conclusions. I mean, a number of things could have happened. What if Kiruna did that in self-defense? I should go and ask him. Inuko thought. She sighed heavily and left her room. Inuko was about to go to Kiruna's hall around the corner when she heard Skye and Kiruna. She hid behind the corner and listened to the conversation, though she knew she shouldn't have. She was shocked at what she heard. Kiru-chan's making a conffession to Skye-chan?! Inuko thought. When Skye passed Inuko without noticing her and dashed into her apatment, Inuko exhaled her held breath. She turned the corner to Kiruna's hall, though still flustered.
"Inuko! Look, please just listen! Paul was angry, drunk and confronted me!" Kiruna explained. Inuko sighed.
"I don't care anymore. My new interest is...your wittle cwush on Skye-chan!" Inuko teased. Kiruna's eyes widened and he blushed tomato red.
"H-how did...when?!" Kiruna stuttered. Inuko just giggled evily. She turned around and pranced back to her room. Well, I guess I'll be having dinner with some love birds! Inuko thought with a cackle.
Paul was only half-aware when Kiruna came back into the room. Paul tried to look at him, to focus on Kiruna as the world spun around him. He stopped this futile struggle when his stomach began to heave again. With a grunt, Paul shifted his head on the pillow and clumsily tried to whipe the sick from his mouth.
Above him, Kiruna's lips were opening and closing in a farsical mute speech. Whatever Kiruna was saying was falling upon deaf ears.
Stupid bastard, does he actually think I can understand him? Paul was so far gone he could barely understand his own thoughts, let alone Kiruna's words.
And yet Kiruna kept on talking. After some time, Paul could begin to distinguish words like "Dinner" and "get up." Then Kiruna vanished from sight and did other things around the room that Paul did not turn to see. In the time that it took Kiruna to busy himself with other things, Paul pieced together what was going on. Kiruna returned to the bedside in evening-wear, and this time Paul could clearly make out what was said to him.
"Well...are you coming?"
The look on Kiruna's face when he said this was a mix of trepidation and remorse. Paul shook his head and was able to mutter two words.
"Not going."
OOC:Go ahead and go to dinner without me, just don't finish dinner without me. ;)
Kiruna sat in his room, dazed by what happened. He had fought Paul and confessed his love for Skye all in the span of 10 minutes. He layed down and listened to music while he pondered over recent events. One song in particular seemed to catch his attention, "You look so fine" by Garbage. Kiruna had always liked 90s alternative rock music from America and he also liked bands with female singers. Shirley Manson's soft and seductive voice put Kiruna into a trance as he stared up at the celing. Before too long, his phone began to ring. It was Skye's ringtone.
"Yes?" Kiruna answered in a meek tone, turning down his music.
"Hey Kiru-chan! You comin down for dinner or what?"
"Oh, sorry. I almost forgot. I'll be down there in a sec."
As Kiruna began to go to the hotel's restaurant, Le Bleu, he saw Jacob in the hall. Jacob smiled and waved to Kiruna. Kiruna's heart sank. He had just admitted his love to another person's lover. How could he live with that. Kiruna nervously smiled and waved back. Jacob sprinted over to the elevator and joined Kiruna.
"Thanks for holdin it man." Jacob weezed out, at a loss for breath.
"No problem" Kiruna said looking forward, not meeting Jacob's gaze.
"Something wrong?" Jacob asked, puzzled
"No"
Jacob sighs "Ok man, whatever you say"
Kiruna couldn't bear to do that to his friend. As they stepped off the elevator, Kiruna glanced up and saw Skye and his heart skipped a beat. She was dressed in a blue sundress and heels. She had let her hair hang down and wore a blue necklace that matched her dress. Kiruna was captivated by her beauty. He steadily walked over to her.
"Hello my two handsome men! You both look great"
"You do too!" Jacob said in a confident tone.
"Yeah you look beautiful" Kiruna said in a small voice, blushing.
She took each of them in her arms and they escorted her to Le Bleu. Kiruna was happy that he was in Skye's arms. Everything seemed to be ok right at that moment.
 • 2 weeks later...
OOC: Late to the party but finally here...
"So this is the famous Ohjyo Grand Palms Hotel eh, gotta say, this kid's parents really know what the're doing", Oni said casually stepping out of his limo.
"Mr. Mtsumata, welcome to the Ohjyo Grand Palms may we take your bags in sir", asked a slightly nervous man bowing.
"All of 'em 'cept this one right here, it has some very....special things inside right Misami", Oni said smiling, reaching for a woman's hand.
"Mr. Oni, uh, are we really here on vacation or are we here because of a client", a slender woman asked in a worried tone stepping out of the limo. Oni just chuckled a bit and walked into the entrance to the hotel checking out the sites as well.
"Mr. Oni you can't just walk away like that, they haven't even shown you were your room is or-", she stopped talking when Oni gently caressed her arms bearing a simple, yet seductive smile on his face.
"Just relax okay we're here to just relax nothing more and nothing less okay Misami". She looked at him flustered by what he had just done.
"Was he just trying to calm me down or was he, no Mr. Oni would never be interested in a girl like me would he", she thought blushing.
"Hey Misami, come on I'm going to get a bit at the Le Bleu you in", he said from over his shoulder. Misami however was still in a daze over Oni's touch, her mind as well as her heart racing.
"Misami what is it, you don't think you look nice or something, I mean come on look at you, your hair is a very beautiful shade of red, your dress is how you say, uh, "skin tight" and beatiful and very sexy babe, your hills, although I'm not a foot man you could make me into one easily, and to top it all off you yourself are just plain beautiful...now can we-",Oni stopped as he saw Misami leaning towards him, he suavly wrapped his arms around her gently kissing her lips.
"Mr. Oni I....uh...",
"You don't have to say a word let's just enjoy ourselves alright", Oni said grabbing her hand walking towards the Le Bleu.
"And let's make sure others enjoy themselves as well, namely one Kiruna Etsune", Oni thought to himself.
