Sucker Punch stars Emily Browning as Babydoll, a 1950s girl put into an insane asylum by her evil stepfather, who is hoping to have her oblivated before she can talk to the police. She has five days to escape the asylum, or she will be lobotomized by a series of electro-shock treatments. She hatches a plan for an escape, wherein she must steal a handful of key objects â?? and each quest, for such things as a lighter, sparks a whole dream sequence in which she retreats from the grim reality before her to a fantasy world where the rules of time and space don't apply. If she needs, say, a knife to aid in her escape, then she has a dream about a samurai sword.

Her fellow in-patients include Abbie Cornish (Sweetpea), Jena Malone (Sweetpea's younger sister Rocket), Vanessa Hudgens (Blondie), and Jamie Chung (Amber). Through dreams, they are transported between real life at the institution, World War I - alongside zombie German soldiers and dragons, and a brothel run by their "real world" charge nurse (Carla Gugino), who gives them sound therapy treatment that transports them between realities. Jon Hamm costars as High Roller who is the asshole trying to take Babydoll's virginity - before she gets lobotomized, ofc.

tl;dr: Inception plus boobs and dragons. So many kinds of yes. Edited by Citric

Would be better if they didn't look like they were 9. The movie looks pretty awesome, but my brain has trouble computing seemingly underage women(even men) being capable of kicking ass without any sort of super powers. For example, the one on the left in the top picture is the only one that looks like she's even in a decent position to handle the recoil of the weapon she's holding, lol.

If fact, just judging from the preview, she's the only one I find remotely believable. Though that might be because her hair sort of reminds me of Raiha, and we all know she can castrate a lion with her bare hands. Edited by PiroMunkie

I saw Salt last week and I had a similar problem. It is just too unbelievable watching a 110 lbs woman plow through hordes of secret service with one-punch knockout power.

Still, this film looks pretty sweet, I have always like over the top action flicks (my anticipation for The Expendables is palpable). Edited by Heaven's Cloud

I had the same problem with the second Resident Evil movie.  Milla Jovovich is one of my favorite actresses and all but the thought of her, or any other human being for that matter, overpowering the Nemesis with their bare hands is ridiculous.

Not to derail this thread in any manner, but technically Alice was dosed with the T-Virus, which would sort of be like having super powers in the RE world (I mean wtf was with her giving some guy an aneurysm at the end of the movie), lol. It's not like she ever body-slammed Nemesis or anything. The fighting was pretty believable I thought. The only time I thought it ever jumped the proverbial shark is when she did like a 12-foot-high leap from a standing position when she first encountered the Nemesis (then, of course, Nemesis followed suit which was even more unbelievable).

Sucker Punch looks cool aside from the obvious lolicon. Even if it takes place in a dreamscape, it's up to the actresses to make it believable and I have a hard time thinking they'll be able to deliver. Emily Browning I don't think has ever played any sort of badass, and Disney superstar Vanessa Hudgens? Are you serious? I like Jena Malone as an actress, though she's usually typecast as a more reserved and maybe a little bit dysfunctional character. I haven't heard of the other two girls, though. Edited by PiroMunkie

At Comic Conn Zack Snyder took some time to reveal some details about Sucker Punch his latest upcoming film and one of the interesting points was why no 3D. Although his answer at the press conference is a bit all over the map its quite clear you can sum it up with... because it wasnt needed. Zack Snyder said the following when asked why no 3D For Sucker Punch;

When we started talking about it, I had a certain idea of how I wanted to move the camera and I had a certain idea of how I wanted the film to feel. I am a fan of 3D. Legends is all 3D. It was conceived in 3D and, if anyone has seen it, I think the 3D is pretty friggin awesome, if I do say so myself. We did talk about it and, in the press, there was word that we were going to do it in 3D.

We really were considering it. But we had seen a bunch of tests and conversion didn't sit with me that great. Without being baked in, it just felt a little weird. But they also showed me a test of 300 that was pretty awesome. But it didn't feel right for this movie. It's in eye-numbing 2D, which is also awesome.

3D is a gimmick and when done right it can really deliver a fantastic film experience. Case and point Avatar. When done poorly it can completely destroy a film for fans case and point Clash of the Titans.
