Well, I rented this movie and watched it on Thursday(sorry for postin this soo late.), and I must say that this was definetly an awesome movie to say the least. Definetly worth my time to rent. The animation was simply awesome, and the story itself was lovely aswell. Like you said, it didnt go with the series(atleast of the eps I've seen, which is only a few), but what anime movie does go with its series? :D The plot was nice, and the music was pretty good aswell. Main thing I liked was towards the end where....well, you gotta watch it for yourself. I'm more than likely gonna watch it again tomorrow, but first I'mma watch "Z.O.E(Zone of the Enders)" and give my thoughts on that. :D
-
Now I can finally speak about this show. ^_^ Anyway, I just got finished watchin the first episode on Toonami, and so far, it looks pretty decent. Confusing...but decent. The main flaws I saw in this was 1. They didnt truly introduce the characters, 2. They didnt mention how the kid got into the game in the first place, and 3. Some of the music was annoying. Mainly that one that sounded like some stuff Steve Urkle would listen(it was only played in 1 scene, but still) Now the good points I've seen is awesome animation, the battle with that kid and that guard(I dont even know their names, and I didnt search the entire thread to see the names of the characters)towards the end up the episode was pretty decent. Short, but good. And finally, that scene where that thing that boy was ridin kept runnin into the walls(lookin for the door)was pretty funny. But all in all, the first ep was pretty good. Hopefully within the next few episodes they'll explain it more(or I may just ask James or somethin. ^_^). But this was a pretty good openin ep. Cant wait to see and record the rest. :D
Originally posted by gokents Im pretty much sure there is no ssj3 or buu. I remember the makers claiming the game spanned roughly from the frieza saga to the cell saga. I think radditz is in there so its more like the sayain saga, but oh well. I dont think its really worth the time since youll just be let down when they dont have those charactors. I just hope they either dont release another game, that way they dont piss me off with more let down. Or I hope they do release another with some extra effort towards the graphics and gameplay (at least to tekken tag levels) and then work on charactors that will keep the fans happy. (buu, ssj3 and so on...)
Well, I've already found stuff that no ones talked about yet(that I didnt even think was on the game like different endings and such), so who knows. It doesnt hurt to try. Besides, I'm still havin fun playin this game anyway. Oh, and on another note...if you wanna continue havin fun while playin this game, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE PICCOLO! Sure, if you wanna see his ending, or your tryin to do like I do, then go ahead, but man, he's horrible on this game. It took me dang near 30 minutes to beat the Sibamen(speakin of that, how many friggen Sibamen were there supposed to be in the first place, because on the game there's six, but on the show it didnt even seem like it was that many.), and almost a friggen hour just to beat Nappa and to see the section where Nappa kills him. *rolls eyes*. Well, I just unlocked another hidden stage where I guess it'll show what woulda happened if Vegeta beat Goku in the Saiya-Jin saga, so I'mma try that part and I'll let ya know what happens. Then I guess I'll have the Jinzouningen(Android)/Cell saga left to find hidden stages in(then again, if I do that, I may unlock a hidden saga, but who knows. I'll let ya know what happens), so I'mma go ahead and see what this Vegeta section is like and then I'mma play the hidden stages in the Android saga, so I'll get back at ya later. Peace! Edit: Man, I think I have just scene the FUNNIEST thing I have seen in my entire life. What do you get when you merge Cell and Krillen together? Beat story mode with Cell and you'll find out. MAN, I almost died laughin when I saw that happen. And the ending is very funny. Great way to end it. Anyway, I have one more storyline that I have to beat and thats Vegetas(I quit playin that earlier because that thing was too friggen hard. You play Goku, Krillen, AND Gohan back to back, and your energy doesnt go up after each battle. The fastest way to beat an opponent is to keep knockin em through mountains since that takes away a quarter of their energy, but thats IF they can let you do that. You gotta avoid Goku's friggen Kai Fist, Krillen's just too friggen fast, and Gohan...well, by the time you get to him, your energy is almost gone so you might aswell kiss yourself goodbye after 2 hits. I need to figure out how to get this Senzu Bean thing to work. But that thing is just too hard. Only way you're gonna win is if you get flawless victory on all of em, but you're gonna have to take the cheap way out and put it on "easy". I have it set to normal for now, so whenever some peeps come over this weekend, I'll be able to play them at my fullest ability. ^_^). Once I beat Vegeta's storyline, and then try to beat the tournamets to unlock Mr. Satan and Great Saiya-Man, then I'll let ya know what happens after that. But regardless, it is a VERY fun game. And is it me, or is the dialogue in this thing ALOT better then the version they put on TV? I just love the part when Vegeta tells Goku "ENOUGH...YOU IGNORANT FOOL! DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT SAIYAN PRIDE IS!?" I was just in awe there, and the rest of the dialogue in the hidden stages are nice to. Especially the parts with Vegeta. But I'm still laughin wit this "Cellin" thing. MAN, that was the funnest thing I've ever seen. I just wish I could connect my TV to my comp and save that screen cap to show you that. Its the funniest thing I ever seen. And the final battle on there is called "Cold-Blooded Assassin". LMAO Funniest...thing....EVER! :D

Had to bring back this thread. ^_^ Anyway, I rented the game this past Wednesday(when I started my job at Blockbuster)and I must say that this is definetly one of the funnest games I've ever played. Mainly goin through story mode and playing the World Tournament to win money. It is definetly somethin hot. Now as far as the SSJ 3/Kid Buu thing goes, I havent gotten that far yet. I've only beat story mode with 3 different characters(Goku, Vegeta, and Frieza. I'm tryin to beat it wit Piccolo as we speak. Actually with Vegeta, Frieza, and Piccolo you dont go through the entire game. They just got hidden levels). But I should be able to let ya know about the Buu thing pretty soon. Now there is one thing that I simply love about this thing. And thats different endings. Now although I only seen 1 different ending(I havent fully beatin story mode wit Vegeta. Just his Namek saga story mode. I'mma do the Android saga story mode after I beat this wit Piccolo), it is still hot. Ever wondered what it would've been like if Frieza killed Gohan, Piccolo, Vegeta, and Goku? Well, beat story mode wit Frieza and you'll see. Lets just say at the end, Frieza will somewhat remind you of Chris Benoit from the WWE. ^_^ Plus theres more to his ending thats somewhat funny, so you definetly need to check it out. Anyway, I'll give more of my views on this game later as I go through it more. Hopefully I'll be able to find out about that SSJ3 Goku/Kid Buu thing before I have to take it back when I go back to work on Tuesday. But thats like 3 days away, and you can bet that I'mma be playin this game between now and then(oh yeah, I did rent 2 DVD's aswell. Escaflowne the Movie and Zone of the Enders which I'll give my 2 cents on probably tonight or tomorrow after I watch em. Just look out for it on the "Anime Discussion" of the forum). Well anyway, I'm back to playin this game. I'll holla at ya when I finish playin. Peace!

Yeah, I would certainly have to agree that Baba is a very rude and nasty woman. But she's just doin her job pretty much(atleast in DBZ anyway when she rushed Goku to take him back to Heaven.). Now in DB, she's just rude because she knows that she's about to have to tell a fortune(or you could say because she's gettin ready to lose a bet.). Now you gotta admit, that is somewhat realistic because whenever someone is gettin ready to lose a bet, what usually happens? They get rude, pissed off, and VERY nasty wit people. And that was in Baba's case. But then again, it could be because she's old and decrepit. Who wouldnt be nasty if they looked that friggen ugly? She looks like a slinky wit skin on it. *shudders*
Originally posted by Mztik_Gohan10 Because it's alot cooler than regular american low-quality cartoons.
I think that pretty much sums it up for ya. ;) The last of the good American made cartoons is Transformers and GI Joe, and as you've noticed the animation on Transformers(speakin of "Armada" here) has changed to an anime style. That lets you know what people are lookin for in cartoons these days.

Alright, the topic title may not go with what I'm talkin about here, but its the only thing I could think of for a title. But anyway, have you ever noticed that when you get older, you notice some things about old cartoons that you never realized as a kid. Its like, when you watched the cartoons as a kid, you never really paid much attention to most stuff. You just thought it was a funny cartoon. But then once you get older, you notice some things about the cartoon. Like somewhat of a hidden feature or some sorts. For example, "Snagglepuss". Now when you originally watched the cartoon, you thought "eh, its a pink tiger, makin the hunter look like a fool.". But then, you get older, and you notice somethin...well, weird about Snagglepuss. And then it hit. Snagglepuss is the first ever "sterotypical"(sayin that to be correct on here, and hopin not to offend anybody)gay character on cartoons. Who else realized that about Snagglepuss? Or am I the only one. Another one is "Top Cat". Now I know everyone thats seen Top Cat pretty much fell in love wit the cartoon as a kid. But as you got about the age of say...10, and you checked out Top Cat, have you somewhat had the urge to start playin some pool, poker, or any other type of gamblin activity(maybe not actually gamblin, but playin those type of games)? I didnt even realize this until my friend Ricky told me about this when I was about 13, but Top Cat was a friggen hustler. And then when I watch it now on Boomerang, I realized that that was where I got my urge to shoot craps(roll dice) at the time(I since then have stopped doin so because I lost soo much CDs. I never used money, just CDs and tapes...plus I got caught. ). Now, I'm askin yall. I know that most of yall have grown up watchin cartoons just like I have, so what are some cartoons that you think had some hidden features within em that you didnt realize was in the cartoon until you got a certain age? I think it'd be pretty funny to hear some of the stuff you've noticed about cartoons since gettin a certain age. It can be from Disney, Hanna-Barbera, or any other type of cartoon that you've watched as a kid.
Originally posted by Kaioshin As for Bulma, ..... repairing the Android 17,
....dont you EVER mess up like that and say my boys name in vain again! lol I'm just messin wit ya, but she didnt fix me..well, my character up. It was Android 16. Juunanagou(17) was already dead by the time they got to Bulma. :( As for Yajirobe's greatest achievement, I'd have to say that it was when he ate all the chicken, all the collard greens, and all the hog maws and STILL talked junk about Vegeta on camera, and lied about how he trained Goku, Tienshinhan, and the rest of the Z-Senshi. :D Oh yeah, and when he cut Vegeta's tail off. That is all.

Well, tomorrow I begin my new job at Blockbuster video(jumps for joy)and they told me that I'm allowed to rent 5 of anything I want for a week. Well, I've already decided that I'mma rent a few games, and probably a Neon Genesis Evangelion DVD, but then I saw somethin that caught my eye. Somethin that alot of folks in the anime world usually talk about, and thats Escaflowne. But I never knew that there was a movie about it. And well, since I somewhat liked the show(atleast what I saw of it before Fox cancelled it), I'm thinkin about gettin it. But I need a few opinions on this movie before I get it. Sooo...to anyone that has seen Escaflowne the movie, how is it and should bother gettin it?(obviously I get it for free, but I just wanna know if I'm waistin my time or not.) You can also discuss the movie in this thread if you'd like aswell so that this topic doesnt become a waist of space. :D

I also love this show. Its funny how they're usin clones of people from the past. I know most folks are gonna say that JFK is the best, I honestly gotta say that I love Ghandi(sp?). Ghandi is funny as a mug on that show. But other then just Ghandi, the animation of the show is awesome, and the comedy is just their. Although I havent seen the second ep yet, I heard it was pretty funny. I'm definetly gonna check it out before I watch Lupin III tonight when it comes on at 11:30pm. But this is probably one of the best animated shows that MTV has put out...probably since Beavis and Butt-Head. But then again, we're only within the second ep. Hopefully it doesnt get bad on us. We'll have to see though.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Jinzouningen17 replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
Yeah, .hack//SIGN is gonna be on Toonami on Saturdays, not Adult Swim. But anyway, that one schedule that WX made looks like it'd be hot. Only thing I'd add is the word "New" to Yu Yu Hakusho, because I'm ready to see some new eps(and bein as cheap as I am, I dont feel like goin out and buyin no eps, but if worse comes to worse, I'll have to break and go buy some. )and maybe if CN would grow some..grapefruits, maybe they could show Evangelion(since I missed the Sci-Fi channel showing of it) aswell. ^_^ -
Frank Welker Voice of the great Megatron from Transformers Generation 1. He also did the voices of Soundwave, Rumble, Frenzy, Skywarp, Galvatron, and countless others in that show. And as you know, Megatron, Rumble, Frenzy, Skywarp, and Soundwave were all in the same scene countless times, and we know that none of em sound alike. Plus, like Endymion mentioned, he also played in Scooby Doo and countless other cartoons. Frank Welker is definetly a VA legend in my book. Chris Latta (RIP) For those that dont know, Chris Latta was the one who did the voice of Starscream in Transformers G-1 and he also did the voice of Cobra Commander in GI Joe. I always loved to hear Chris Latta's voice in both of those shows, and to this day, his voice can never be duplicated. Chris will also remain in my book as one of the greatest VAs of all time. Rest in Peace Chris. We miss you. John Stephenson Voice of Thundercracker in Transformers Generation 1. Well, since Thundercracker is one of my favorite G-1 characters of all time, plus the voice fit him to a tee, I got to say that John Stephenson will go into my book as the true Thundercracker. Awesome VA in my book. Orson Welles (RIP) Now not many of you know that Orson did some Voice Acting. Well, Orson did the voice of Unicron in Transformers: The Movie. As a matter of fact, it was his last role before he passed away. Orson Welles did an awesome voice for Unicron in my opinion. There was one other person to do Unicron's voice, and that was in Transformers: Beast Wars, but it couldnt even compare to Orson's voice. Orson Welles will also go in my books as one of the greatest VA's of all time. Brian Drummand It seems like I'm goin into anime on this one, but Drummand did some none anime shows aswell such as Transformers: Beast Machines, and he's also doin a voice for Transformers Armada. Plus, we definetly cant forget his role as Vegeta in Dragonball Z and his role as Zechs Marquis in Gundam Wing plus if I'm not mistaken, he plays a role on InuYasha aswell. Drummand is definetly one of the greatest VA's to exist aswell.

I guess because we all know that DBGT didnt get good until the Bebi saga. But people are gonna be lost. Especially those that havent seen the subs yet, or all that other good stuff. They're all gonna be wonderin "Why is Goku a kid again.", "What are the black star Dragonballs.", "Who's that girl.", and all that other stuff. Mainly the kiddies, but still. Looks like Funimation's found another way to completly screw somethin up. Oooh well. If you wanna discuss this, go ahead(that is IF there is anything to discuss, but I'm sure someone will come up wit somethin to talk about. But dont turn this into a Funi bashin thread.) Just thought I'd let yall know this so you dont go askin about this later. You're Welcome. ^_^

Yeah, I loved Gundam X aswell. It was one of the first Gundam's that I was able to get the Japanese version of(fansubbed anyway. That and Zeta Gundam was the first 2 Japanese versions I ever got.) I still wish Gundam X would've been a bit longer, but hey, with the story they had, I guess it was long enough. But it was definetly a good series. If you havent seen it, I highly recommend gettin yourself a copy of it.
-
Here are my personal favorites.... Gundam Wing G Gundam Zeta Gundam Gundam 0083: Stardust Memories and Gundam X I havent seen SEED yet though, but I'm wantin to. I heard its a pretty hot series.
-
Well, I say let this set of reruns of Cowboy Bebop finish(so I can record every episode :D), and THEN take it off the air so InuYasha can stay on. So I guess I'll be the second to sign the petition to keep InuYasha on. ^_^

Yeah, theres a few other things strange to... Gohan means "Food" or somethin to that effect. And Brolly sounds a bit like Broccoli(A Very Aggressive Vegetable. ^_^) Plus, lets not forget about the ties between Frieza(Freezer), Koola(Cooler) and King Cold(obvious). ^_^
