Originally posted by Morinaka I personally don't hate racists, i feel sorry for them. Racism is basically reinforced (sp?) stereotypes. Anyone smart enough should see right through them and laugh at the people stupid enough to believe in them.
I'm not trying to be offensive but i would like to bring into the light that Sterotypes are here for a reason. It's not like the white community just "assumed" black gangs commited crime as "gangstas". It's not like mexicans havent immigrated illegally, sometimes carrying drugs with them. Sterotypes only come around when there's enough evidence to create one. I'm sorry man, you cant "look through" steryotypes all the time. Everyone has a different situation, granted, but I would dare you to go up to a gangsta in the middle of his group and say, "I know you are just a sterotyped normal black guy who doesn't really want to be subverted to the sociatal role of 'gangsta', right?". Caps will be popped, asses and egos will have 9mm buds of joy to help realign that person's opinions. This is just another opinion that has no real basis, but is founded on the ferverent reaction the opinion itself creates.

"Ahh yes, a psychic, but answer me this question, how can you read the moves of one who posesses no psyche?" He lets loose a laugh, smoke billowing from the ground like a noxious fume, condensing into V'sh'thou. He snapped his wrist again, letting the same tendrils now wrap up both Sarah and Kudara. "You just gave me another hostage you stupid fool! I cannot belive the action you choose to take against me!" . He walks directly in front of the psychic, "That was a power of the moon. The moon is light, there is no light without the darkness, and through the lights most acute efforts is born the greater of darknesses. Do not attempt to control what you do not understand. Next time you try that, I will kill them." He let his words peirce the party like ice. "I didn't start your assault on me, you took the agressive action into your own hands. I only wanted to talk, care to listen?" OOC: I know this sounds close to the verge of godmodding, but I have a perfectly good reason why he could especially resist Hikage. Whats more important: Booksmarts or Commonsense
Drix D'Zanth replied to pbfrontmanvdp's topic in General Discussion
Originally posted by Crimson Spider If I were a monkey and kepts the booksmart and common sense ration the same in my more primitive brain, I would be able to do many math problems, and know why stuff does stuff. However, if they put me in a room with 2 blocks and a bannana hanging from the roof, I would not stack the blocks. I would instead throw the blocks at the bananna trying to knock it down. After the bannana gets smashed from me smacking it with the blocks, I would remeber to throw the blocks more carefully next time. Plenty of book smart. But without common sense, I will never get that bannana.
Thank god you aren't a monkey. To be honest, i think all monkey's would chuck something at the bannana, or try to climb. I'm no monkey expert here though. So I guess that makes all monkeys booksmart, cool. I really don't think either of them are that valuable. There is an intrinsic difference in each person known as their intelligence quotient. Debate as you may, some people will always be smarter than others. Why, then is the world not dominated by the smart? Simple. Motivation is the key. Call me a chris farley's "motivational speaker" mockoff, but in all honesty it's motivation that truely defines how sucessful a person can be. I lean more towards the book smart, I belive you learn plenty of common sense depending on how you study. There are books about common sense topics such as washing clothes, writing checks, or mixing martinis. Okay, maybe the last one was a bit off track, but you get my point. Anyone with a great deal of common sense can apply his/herself to a goal, and fulfill their booksmart potential. It just takes time and dedication. It's fairly simple, yet it requires experience on both ends of the spectrum. I learned how to wash clothes, etc at a fairly young age, but found enough time to read and study as well.
Originally posted by Conna_da_fox I think commonsense is more importent. I mean you could have a lot of booksmart and not have commonsense and that will make you look kinda dumb.:P I have more commonsense than booksmart and i could know way more things than a kid without alot of commonsense. It's just commonsense to know that commonsense is more importent.
Does anyone else see the profound amount of irony in this person's post? Earlier someone described the two as being intertwined. This is all very very true. I suppose I'll end with a quote: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in mind at the same time and still retain the ability to function." - F. Scott Fitzgerald. How profound for a forum... no? -
Which restores energy more water or fruit
Drix D'Zanth replied to Meteora's topic in General Discussion
Yes, water is very important, it may give the impression that energy is restored, but thats the result of water improving your bodily functions and help everything run at optimum. Your body just feels refreshed, and rejuvinated, but It can't run off water. I guess it's like motor oil for your body! Anyway, all energy is from ATP. This is covered in basic bio classes in highschool. ATP is trapped in the covalent bonds of carbohydrates, or in lesser quantities, within the glycogen of a fatty acid. So I would reccomend fruit and water. But burn the energy fairly quickly, as fruit is usualy comprised of simple carbohydrates, glucose (aka dextrose) and fructose. These are the first to burn, but if you do not burn , the fastest to become fat. This question is actually fairly irrelevant, just use both. -
"Oh my, you just love your little elements don't you." V'sh'thou giggled from behind the cage. Slowly, almost luridy he approached the crackling energy of the cage. "Cought? ME?" , he laughed this time, full bodied, the small teenager seemingly trembling with full throated laughter. Placidly he opened his mouth, a black tounge seemed to pour from it, inhumanly larger than the rest of his body. Carefully it wrapped round the energy bars of the cage, licking it playfully. V'sh'thou's eyes narrowed. "I can drink your energy if i choose, set down your weapons before someone gets hurt" His eyes flash crimson for an instant as he looks towards the glowing starlight sword. Like melting snow, he sank into the shadow beneath him, waving. "WHAT?" "no way!", exclaimed the exasperated teens as they watched the phenomina. Then he appeared infront of Sarah, popping out of the ground groaning with wicked pleasure. "I asked you to be nice please." Sarah spun around, letting her sword tear through the figure, bits of darkness evaporating like boiling blood as they flew from their progenitor. V'sh'thou chuckled malignantly, letting the blade cut cleanly through him, the path of the blade leaving a cloud of smoke where it had descended. The smoke seemed to coalece and bubble, leaving the shadow master unharmed. "I thought we were going to play nice!" V'sh'thou cried playfully, letting tendrils of darkness sprout from the ground coiling around Sarah's arms , legs , torso, and neck. The shadowy figure didn't wait for the others to react, "Attack me, and she dies. Attack the tendrils that fold her to my bondage, and you will also inadvertantly be her destroyer." He tightened the tendril around her neck, "I gave you a small test and you refused my energy. Why? How are you so sure that I'm the maligned here?" A smile crept across the boy's face, inhuman, his eyes luminated a dark glee. Check, your move kiddo.

V'sh'thou stared out from a shadow behind the group, cast from a large oak tree. He melted upward from the shadow forming from the seemingly soupy substance that was his nihilistic self. What the **** are these kids doing, he pondered watching them cast their pretty little spells. He seemed bemused by their chanting, How infantile, no true mastery in calling upon the element for guidance, one must guide the element. He let his form drape the side of the tree, eyes peering like white-hot coals , slowly maligning itself into a more acceptable visage for these mortals. He took his former human appearance, a younger teenager , raven black hair accenting his pallid cheeks. His eyes were hollow, black, but for a single silver iris. He had forgotten his old past long ago, he wasn't the same person as before. His fingers, twisted into wicked looking claws extend towards the party, his black fingernails trembling with seemingly arcane energy. Slowly the unyeilding darkness tha consumed his heart poured from his fingernails, floating like liquid , curling towards the energy ball forming over their party. The darkness wraps around the energy ball, diffusing the other colors, clouding the majesty of the energy, yet the ball's intensity grows, as does it's size. The energy crackles twice with the new energy, V'sh'thou cackles, Let's see if they can handle the newfound power.

Once i attached a 5 dollar bill to a fishing line and put it in the sidewalk. When someone reached to get it, we'd pull the string away a bit. I heard someone tried that on TV, but It was fairly origional at the time. Good laughs, I love laughing at people. People are sheep :D.

Name: Rhel "baby boy" Di Age: 11 Gender: M Bio: Rhel, or baby boy, as his friends commonly refer to him grew up in middle class at Genimi town. He attended his schooling before tragedy struck. Rhel was sold into the slavery of a man who went by the handle "Father Tiempo". This older fellow took a liking to rhel, he revealed the true identity of his lifestyle as a crook, teaching baby boy the finer points of the trade. Rhel learned how to manipulate a toothpick as potently as any lockpick, he learned the tricks of houdini, misdirection and movement. His memory is shrouded now. He cannot remember what happened from the last time he saw Father Tiempo till today. Amnesic, he wandered with the last relic and words that circulate his mind, "Keep this relic, my boy, it will forever guide your path. Appearance- Growing up in a very enigmatic, but prestegious stolen lifestlye, Rhel manages to dress fairly well. He wears a blue button up shirt, always unbottoned , a white undershirt covering his torso. He is lithe, very willowy, and quick witted for his age. Wisdom beyond his years are only reflected in his deep brown eyes, enigmatic like his past. Tool's: Rhel has no need for trinkits. He can easily manipulate situations, gaining entry and sneaking around with objects on the feild. He does carry the only artifact Father Tiempo bestowed upon him, a timepeice, old watch that can be used to set someone's memory back, or cause them to freeze. Rhel can only freeze time for a certain period of time, as this is considered his ultimate ability. Slowly, Rhel hopes the precognition of the watch will somehow guide his future. Weapon: Rhel carries only one thing that could quantifiably be called a weapon. A bracelet with seemingly alive wings attached to the top of it. The wings spread, adding to the power of whoever is attacking, at Rhel's choosing. As a final meteo attack , he can summon upon a large vortext to consume whatever it may, possibly Rhel, he does not know.

name: V'sh'thou G'th'Xanther III age: eleventy (almost twelved!) Gender: does a shadow have one? Unic. Apearance: http://live.quizilla.com/user_image...gna5edited.jpg (see attacks) bio: V'sh'thou is servitor to his lineage. Since when has shadow had a lineage? No, he is instead slave to his Path of Morality. His morality is that in the macabre, reflecting his intrinsic nihilistic values. He never takes much seriously, reality is but an illusion, just another passing shadow in the darkness, this creates a sense of extreme danger and mystery within V'sh'thou. Because his body and mind travels through the realm of all that is shadow he is not bound to this world , or his own psyche. He laungishes in a variety of personalities, good luck meeting the same V'sh'thou as you had yesterday. Somehow the memories remain, but the approach changes forever. Element: he is the master of Shadow weapon: A big freaking sword. This is, strangely the only non-ethereal part about V'sh'thou, evoking a strange response from the crowds as they see a sword floating through the shadows. He weilds it with the grace of coiling smoke. attacks: Tenebrous tendrils- V'sh'thou can manipulate shadow at a whim, with enough effort he can use the shaddows as whips or tendrils, restraining, even choking victims. Lithe like Smoke- Being that of shadow and nearly ethereal, V'sh'thou cannot be effected by traditional weapons. When near or around a shadow, he can utilize it's energy to dissipate his form slightly, allowing weapons to pass through him without any physical harm to him. Moonlit Visage- V'sh'thou can wrap shadows deceptively around him, bending his image into a near perfect replica of whomever he wishes to become. He must be standing in a shadow, and changing his voice to match the persona is a different matter... Never Trust the Darkness- If V'sh'thou has direct line of sight to anyone standing within a shadow , or if it happens to be night-time, any poorly lit area, he can turn the ground into a thick abyss. Slowly the person will sink into the darkness like quicksand. If totally sucked into the abyss, V'sh'thou can choose to evoke that person's power as he/she is now trapped within another realm. (not sure if you needed attacks, but i included them anyway)

The movies were stunning. I'm really impressed at how the director could pull off such a powerful feature. He really did capture the magic of Tolkein's realm. It has been, and could have been alot worse (bakashi!!!!). Anyway, the third one WILL be the best, pelennor feilds? Comon people, everything comes crashing down in the finale, no doubts about it. I read somewhere that Tolkein wished hollywood would try and make a movie after his books, that seemed to appeal to him. I wish he weren't dead, his offspring really are money grubbers leeching off an estate earned entirely by their father. Yes Christopher, I'm talking to YOU.
Originally posted by BabyGirl Ah, see that's the great thing about Mr. Cloud. His witty sarcasm is so convincing that it is mistaken for seriousness! ::applause:: However, Drix, I totally agree that it is the minority that capitolizes the prejudice, whatever it may be. I was going to respond to someone else's post the other day but I didn't have enough else to say to make it a valid post on my behalf. I think it was Luminaire who made the point that the black population doesn't get crap for talking crap about white people. Why? Because that will forever be some inherent right of the minority. Kind of like the way that it is socially acceptable for women to hit men [I'm not talking abuse, I'm talking a signle slap or punch] because they're the 'weaker' of the two sides, therefore making them the minority. Honestly, think about it. People don't seem to take other people's opinions too heavily lately.
PSH. I knew it was sarcasm, i just decided to take it into a different light and use it as a vehicle to drive my opinions across, ok? Jeeze. It's obvious that blatant sarcasm will be found upon the boards, what do you expect when the board is populated by immaculates such as Wrist Cutter, or Raiha. I'm just as sarcastic as the both of them, check my threads :P. On a final note: YOU DONT KNOW ME! YOU DONT KNOW ME! f00.
Origionaly posted by Shahi when I was little people use to tease me because I was light skined. I hate it when people do that I also don't like it when people tease people about there race the way I see it human is human. this week in school we learned about the native ameracans and when you think about it some people who called other people imagrients in the time when all those people were comeing to america are really imagrients them selfs sence they actual took the land from the native americans. Some times when you think about american history its really boodly and racists. thats why I can't watch certian things that are basiced on true stories because it makes me what to fight stuff like mississippi burning. the thing that makes me mad is no body can do any thing about it. some people in my school think the southern states are more racist than the northern know you know thats a straight up lie in New York where I use ta live it was just as racist as any other state the cops mainly. The way I see it every one is equal and theres no such thing as race I'm light brown, and every one around me are just shades of brown I olny wish it was that simple but science seems to think diffently(sorry if I said to much but I 've been holding that in for a long time I don't talk about it alot with people)
Need I say anything here folks? Humor me as I try to peel my way through a total and complete lack of coherent grammar and legible spelling. Ever heard of capitalizing words? I'm not perfect, but this is rediculous. Improve your post quality please, as one newbie to another. ;) First of all, read the previous posts in the thread. It is apparent to me that you did not take the time to read what other people have written, you just decide to spew your information as if It's something legitimately new. This is a discussion.. let's move it forward people. Second of all, it's wonderful that you hear your opinions from some teacher that repeats the same rhetoric every year. Form your own opinions, don't become a puppet to your secondary education. Thirdly, do you want to give up your land/way of life for a native american? Honestly, for a relatively SMALL amount of native american's they sure didn't want to share. Brutality and offenses were commited on both sides who meant well. I don't think settlers were going out with the mentality "lets go kill some indians", if anything they were scared to hell of the mysterious indigenous people. Honestly though, N.A's get free college, they don't pay taxes.. etc. They contribute very little to this country considering they take so much out with their casinos. My ancestors moved to the United States, not the United Native American Association of Tribes, don't expect me to pay their greviances. I have nothing against the Natives, but don't pin the trail of tears on me kiddos. I have an idea, lets piss and moan at how such BAD people these settlers are for a few weeks while we study the topic, feel bad for the natives, gain this self-righteous "i love the idians" mentality, then forget about it as you go back to a lifestlye that you owe to the people who killed the Native americans. Yeah. Fourthly, NYC cops are an amazing attribute to our society. I hate cop slander, it's more ignorant than any form of racist comment I've ever heard. These cops don't get on the news for saving lives, and taking criminals off the streets. No they get on the news for having to restrain a violent black man who might physically harm them, pinned with accusations of "Racial police brutality". Ever watch Cops? The show, i mean, there are just as many violent white men and women as minorities. I don't piss and moan when a policeman beats the hell out of a white guy who tried to beat the cop with his recently-emptied bottle of Jack Daniels. Stop following the libertine opinions that the media shoves in your face kid. What are you, twelve? Jesus christ. Finally, there is no such thing as race, except the chromosone differences that merit towards a difference in skin color usually associated with a possible historical/biological adaptation to their native surroundings. Yup, no such thing as race at all. I never new your opinoins would open my mind up so much. I think I'm going to pop in Mississippi Burning and ball my eyes out about racial injustice 50 (is that the setting?) years ago.:bawl: GAH. Can someone put me out of my misery YET?
Originally posted by Heaven's Cloud Well, since nearly every rational argument (and quite a few irrational arguments) have been presented, my thoughts will bring absolutly nothing new to the conversation...but, hey, that is just the kind of guy that I am! I think that that people tend to be more prejudice then racist these days. Sure, there are those fanatic neo-confederats, and the coalition of Al Sharpden worshipers but, for the main part everyone has a type of person that they discriminate against for one reason or another. Some loose examples would be the hatred among goths and preps; Rednecks have never meshed with Gang Bangers; and those hyper, neurotic northerners will always stereotype southerners as slow-witted country bumpkins. Personally I am prejudiced against people with uni-brows and people with really bad teeth. Thats the great thing about being a prejudice person as opposed to a racist person. You can really narrow the hatred down and focus towards those mundane and trivial things you hate about a set group...
Heaven's Cloud brings up a good point. There is always prejudice around. Things like a unibrow or bad teeth are not the person's fault, sometimes uncontrollable. "But you can get braces". Some people can't afford them. Even if you did get them would you change to avoid the prejudice?? That's like asking a black person to get some sort of SKIN transplant to change skincolor, isn't it? I'm sorry I don't see any "Unibrow's unite" groups protesting on washington's steps. Why? Because it's the minorities that capitolize the prejudice. Minority groups use a fairly MINOR problem in the united states, amplify it, spotlight it, and use it to ride people's personal agenda's or maligned prinicples that have NOTHING to do with racial issues (Is Jesse Jackson around?). Racism is just prejudice against someone for their RACE. So, I see no difference in hating a group of black people for being black, as hating a group of people with crooked teeth? I'll also personally slap anyone who would call Heaven's Cloud ignorant for this. Ahhhh... now doesn't that feel good to get off my chest.

I watched this show once. I thought I was going to gouge my eyes out. Wrist Cutter, any methods of suicide you could reccomend here? I'm looking for slow and painful, my body should be punished for watching such a drab pablum. I'm taking this out on my body, I'll be at Dennys.

No. If you want real supernatural horror that will make you crap your pants, watch aliens. If you want supernatural horror that will make you ball your eyes out and/or crap your pants watch Interview with a vampire (made me want to BE a vampire). If you want real supernatural horror that will send you into epileptic shock I reccomend watching The Ring. If you want a horror/comedy that you can laugh then scream at watch almost anything out there including, but not limited to , Friday 13th, Nightmare on Elm street, Psycho, any hitchcock flick, the shining , etc. Tremors is a boorish waste of a good movie. Sorry :(.
Originally posted by MistressRoxie I dunno what you're talkin' about, Lum, cause your post count keeps going up. It's at 110 right now. If you still think it says 88, well then your comps screwy. And yes, I noted before, on the reverse racism thing, and about your one sense thing, too. Quite sad, when you think about it. I would like to just say that I absolutely dispise it when people look at Muslims differently after 9/11. My sister's Sundanese friend couldn't get the proper working papers in NYC, because they wouldn't sign it, as Sudan is on that list of countries to watch out for. And don't you DARE go around saying "Well too bad for her, she shouldn't have been born in Sudan" because that doesn't make any sense at all! You can't choose where you're born! This girl got at the government office where they can sign the papers, at TWO in the morning, on TWO consecutive days. The first day, the lady there said "Oh, I'm sorry, the guy left for the day, come back tomorrow". So she did, and all the lady said was "He's out to lunch, you'll have to wait. I'll just put it in his mailbox and hope he sees it" which is so mean. She did it too, b/c my sis's friend was muslim. I couldn't watch a television show last night because of racism. It was this show about missing people, I think from the CSI creators. And it was about this Muslim man working in NYC, and he disappeared, and even when they're looking for him, the detectives from the FBI think he could be a terrorist, and at the end, he's telling everyone there's a bomb in the building and they all think he did it 'cause he's Saudi Arabian. And then the FBI snipers (I think thats it) shoot him. And he dies. I'd seen it before, and the re-run was on. I told my mom what happened, and we both were like "Oh, I can't watch this. It's too sad." Because the racism against Muslims everywhere just angers me so much. The funny thing is, most people, I'm sure, that are racist against Muslims and Arabs are probably Christian(I'm sayign that because most of the world ISChristian). And they don't even realize that Jesus was Arab. Oh it just angers me so much.
The show was good. I watched it. Jesus was a hebrew, not an Arab (offshot between Isaac and Ishmael here). Most of the world isn't Christian. It's estimated that about 25% of the world is christian, or something like that. I belive buddhism with the 1.2 billion chinese claiming it as their primary religion is probably the largest religion by now. In fact Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world today (if i were forced to belive it at gunpoint *coughs* Algeria *coughs* I guess I could understand why it "grows" so fast) Listen. Rasicm is just as proprieted by the minorites and anti-racists as it is fueled by actual racists. Alot of people divide themselves amongst eachother, alot of people look for an edge in society, something to feel greater than. People who are smart hate those who aren't so smart, vice versa. People who hate jocks, people who hate the poor. It's all the same, and doesn't necessarily constitute to a lack of intelligence. I suppose the only difference here is how much people want to make OTHER people think. If someone doesn't like a person cause he or she is black, well too bad for him , but for god's sake let the guy live his life and have his own opinions. What irks me is when people piss and moan about a TV-show that may be semi-realilstic portraying a racial group but not necissarily sterotyping and/or racial profiling that group. The fact is, people in saudi arabia now hate us for the sole reason the US is a free country. Muslim countries HATE US. Haven't you seen their celebrations at 9/11? Didn't you hear the Iranians call us "the great satan" for the upteenth time while we fought a war defending the INNOCENTS of this nation? Get over yourselves and your righteous causes, reality check, please. (pardon spelling or grammar errors, this was typed on the fly)

I plot and lurk. I spy on people, I tap phone lines. Sometimes I observe through 10x power binoculars, sometimes through the 10x power Scope of my Remington M700 chambered to a .308 Lapua Magnum round. I sharpen my knives .. such pretty knives. I have all sorts, you should all come over and see them. Otherwise I mix drinks, or plastic explosive (mix veeerrrry slowly). Sometimes I prank, sometimes I take myself too seriously, or not seriously enough. I ponder life's mysteries, and the lack therof. I ponder why i ponder sometimes. Sometimes I frighten people, that's a fun little hobby. I like to frighten small children to the point where brawling erupts between myself and the parents. I laugh at people for no apparent reason. They are laughing at me, I just have the balls to express it. I like my computer. He is good to me, he helps me find new friends. New friends. Did i repeat myself? Anyway, my new friends don't like my basment anymore. Whenever I tell them to rub the lotion on their skin, they start to cry. Then I have to use the hose. I hate the hose. However, I must , forever, keep the wall WET. (:D) Z?

Edit: sorry about the post. I had a huge rant planned but upon further examination of my actions I feel this action is not necissary. Plus my planned rant-test-dummy, Naota is only 13. I don't want to newbie bash (heck, I'm a newbie , I guess). So please Ignore this post if you haven't already. My bad.
Originally posted by DFantasy ok he's 16 now. He was only like 9 or 10 and didn't know any better because his mother had nevr taught him about the human body and right from wrong. So it's not his fault and you don't know the ENTIRE story.
I happen to know some very wise 10 year olds ;) . But your lack of prescision /math skills, reveals this for the hoax that this is. You said the kid's been on probation for the same amount of time as therapy. If he went on therapy the same time he was on probation that would be 4 years total, making the kid in question 14. If he was on probation, THEN went on to therapy he would be 18. Honestly, no one goes on probation for sucking dick, he's a minor. You are making this crap up kid. Lets see... You are 14 now, describing an event that happened 4 years ago? I think this may have been blown WAY out of proportion considering your young, yet fertile little minds. I question the validity of this whole thread. I also question the appropriateness. If we are going to bring up events like "Helping someone and Taking the heat for it", then leave it as that. Don't include some possibly fabricated story for attention purposes.
