Okay, shady is one thing but there is seriously something wrong with people who are shooting at Med Evacs and hospitals. What could someone possibly gain from doing that, talk about biting the hand that feeds. Whatever happened to the survival instinct, cause shooting aid is not pertaining to survival in my book. In a crisis people either band together and help e.g 9/11, or complete chaos erupts a la now. The weird thing is, scientists saw this coming. if you read this article from National Geographic in 2004, it details what would happen if a massive storm were to hit New Orleans. Its very unsettling. I doubt The Big Easy is ever going to be the same again.

I've met Monica Rial, who works with Greg Ayers at ADV. She's Himuro in Princess 9 and she is also Lumiere in Kiddy Grade. She's done lots of other stuff and is an absolutely amazing person. My favourite quote from her would be: "Killing people is fun ^_^...but don't do it." Heh, that was at Amecon in England. She's coming back for Amecon next year and is also bringing Greg with her ^_^. Here's a pic ^_~ I'm the one on the right.

I don't actually have a flame font at my disposal. Also it would be difficult to replace the text since I don't have a copy of the banner before I added it. When its saved all the layers merge so I can't remove the text without damaging the rest of the banner.

There was a thing about stupid place names in the Daily Mail a couple of days ago. It seems that people have no consideration for the folk who live there when making such names ^_~. I personally have visted 'spittle in the street' in Lincolnshire, thats the only one I can remember. Although on Boo's subject, I do live near a 'New York' and a 'Washington' and I live in the North East of England.

Where I work there are kids running around and screaming and making noise all the time, even though it isn't really a kids environment. Since I work in a clothes store parents have to bring their kids with them and sometimes you just want to kick them. The parents will be all "don't do that or the asisstant will tell you off" and I'm standing there thinking don't get me involved in your domestic disputes? The best thing we can do is make an announcement to make parents keep an eye on their kids, but it doesn't work.

I think its safe to say I'm quite crushed that I didn't get in, I would class myself as quite a good RPer and yet I never seem to get chosen for this sort of event. I was really looking forward to taking part too. Severely bummed...

Okay, lets consider this for a moment. What do we consider to be wrong in this day and age. We consider murder, violence, rape, theft and prejudice to be wrong in the western world. Why is this? Well, these are all crimes that harm someone in one way or another, which is why they are crimes. To make something a crime that has no effect whatsoever upon anyone other than the two consenting individuals involved is just down right selfish. On the subject of religion, a deity deems that such an action is wrong and much therefore be punished. Why? What possible harm can it do in this day and age? Okay, so there isn't a possibility of precreation between these two people right, thats why its wrong? Nope, not now, there are many ways in which this small point can be overcome, plus not everyone in the world is homosexual and to be frank the human population could to with a little slowing down as it is. Prehaps it was not how God intended, so what. If something so trivial as your sexual preference means that you are condemed to a life in hell then I say that God is a selfish, finnecky, stubborn individual and needs to sort out his priorities. P.S You didn't really answer my point about Cain and Abel OA.

Excellent work everyone. Manic: I can't believe you made one for Chamber. He's such a fourth-string X-Man that you're my hero for using him in anything. -Shy
Heh, I had to look up who he was ^_~. Btw Revue you probably did more work with yours than I did, mine was just an image of batman from the net that I filled in black, end of story ^_~.

Oh wow, that catwoman is amazing. If only my batman were as pro looking as that ^_~. I love the slogan too, very fitting.

Not Being Yourself? (maybe even to be good?)
Doukeshi replied to AzureWolf's topic in General Discussion
As has been said there is a happy medium between a genuine and a facade one puts forward in social situations. Everyone has a facade they wear most of the time, as I see it we only remove this facade when we are in intimate, personal situations such as at home with our family or with very close personal friends. Even with friends you think you know very well you are still displaying a persona you want them to see. This, as with everything, has its advantages and disadvantages. As it is, I have a friend who says what she wants when she wants whatever the consequences, or so it seems, and sometimes I think it would just be nice if she simply feigned interest in something just to be a friend. As one of my other friends notoriously said, she is forever 'pissing on people's bonfires'. Having said that, however, because she does not put forward a facade as such it is always easy to know when she is showing genuine feelings and this is why she is a dear friend. Of course, people who are completely fake just aren't worth the effort. Why bother getting to know someone and being friends with them if you don't even know if they are friends with you. Its like talking to and actor as if they were the character they portray. Its a pointless exercise. I hope that rambling made sense. -

I always find it really difficult to explain A levels and the process of getting into University to anyone not from the UK. I've already had one year at uni but when I had to collect my A level results I was really nervous. I had to get a BBC to get into my first choice at Newcastle University to study Archaeology and Ancient History. I specifically her to get a B in history, the other two grades could be in anything. Ironically I get BBC but the C was in history, by one mark. But they let me into Newcastle anyway ^_~. So if your grades aren't what you need make sure you phone your uni before you panic, they might just let you in anyway.

Wow, how cool is this. I think you cyclops one is the best it just looks so natural. I just had to try my hand, even though it isn't very good quality.

How can anyone have a decent conversation with you OA if you keep calling people uneducated and dismissing their posts as BS just because they have an opinion that differs from your own perceptions. I someone who was homosexual attempted to deny themselves and have a heterosexual relationship then no doubt they would be extremely unhappy. Many can fall into depression and even suicide because of these warring emotions. How can you condemn anyone to that sort of life? What happened to tolerance and unity, of 'love thy neighbour' and such. You say there would have been paradise if sins such as homosexuality and perversion among others had not come into being, I say there would be paradise if these things did exist but we all were able to accept eachothers differences and give praise to god for giving us such a diverse and interesting race. Homosexuality doesn't harm anyone. As a side note: God created Adam and Eve yes? Okay, Adam and Eve begat Cain and Abel, Cain killed Abel and now there is only Cain. Where did the rest of man kind come from? Don't you find that odd?

Do you believe that dinosaurs ever existed?
Doukeshi replied to Otaku America's topic in General Discussion

Sorry, you DON'T possess the knowledge to know that paleontoglogists have dug up bones for two centuries. You clearly didn't read my posts. Unexplained arguments? I fail to see where I didnt' explained. In the 1800's we where at war, not digging up some imagined bones which all have the same exact structure across the world.
How do you know that Sage doesn't possess the knowledge, for all you know he could be a paleontologist. Also, in the 1800s we were at war, were we all at war? Was every single human on the planet at war? Was this a perpetual war that prevented anything else from happening other than the existence of this war? No, Archaeology and Paleontology started coming to the fore in this period through the means of people who weren't taking part in a war, like most of the people on the planet.
Even is you don't believe in God he is with you. Why would dinosaurs roam the Earth? To eat Adam and Eve? lol.
Why would lions, tigers and bears roam the earth? Why would crocodiles or alligators, whales, sharks and elephants? Why does anything exist, you're the font of all theological knowledge, you work it out.
This statement only comes from watching Futurama. Don't you remember the people who died in the Columbia Space Shuttle Crash? The government doesn't pay Nasa billions of dollars for the sake of fake Hollywood moon landing. Unlike "theorists," astronauts are dead real.
And who pays billions of dollars for this so called 'dinosaur conspiracy'? What possible benefit could there be from spending billions of dollars/pounds/franks/marks in upholding something which is a hoax? It wouldn't be justified, I mean the government barely has any interest as it is so its certaintly not them and who else has the money or the means to create such an elaborate hoax?
How can the Bible have inacurrate information when it's the word of God? God is the only perfect being. Genesis is the most important chapter of the Bible so how can mere humans disprove it throughout history? #1 sold book around the world is the Holy Bible. Every year it still sells millions. Not only that the Holy Bible has reached billions of people. Go to a church and ask if dinosaurs exist, they'll simply tell you No.
God didn't write the bible, humans wrote the bible. Its a secondary source and secondary sources always have flaws. Prehaps the word of God is infallible but the word of God interpreted through the words of man is not. Facts get mixed up, stories get changed over time, pieces get omitted or re-written to suit the Pope/monarch/leader of the time. If you've read the King James version twice (which by the way is absolutely nothing) then you have only read the version King James wanted people to read. The bible is not the be all and end all of religious theory practice and belief.
Science only helps when it comes to space travel or some sort of tricky machinery, or simply how our body systems function. If you believe in dinosaurs then how were they created if you don't believe in God? Do you think "science," gave humans and animals hearts, brains, skeletal system, nerves, emotions? That is highly unlikely. There is no sort of evidence in the world that makes science the answer to life. To me, it's impossible for this science to give dinosaurs teeth and claws if you believe they existed. Theories about dinosaurs & the Earth are nothing but then the human imagination. Just because Jurrasic Park showed dinosaurs does't mean the bones in the museum are actually dinosaur bones.[/color']
Okay, are you regarding science as a single entity? Science is not another being to rival God, it is a process of understanding that was there long before humans ever existed. There are many different aspects to science that span far beyong space travel or 'tricky machinery'. Science permiates every aspect of our life, from our food to the clothes we wear. Dinosaurs would have been created through the chain of evolution, which you probably deny exists either. From a tiny single celled organism dinosaurs and other life would have evolved to suit their surroundings and their climate. This would have occured over billions of years of adaption through genetic mutations, breeding and survival. Humans are simply a blip on the life if this planet. We have been around for what 3000, 4000 years? Our planet has lived and will lived far longer than we shall continue to exist on this planet. We are simply the dominant species of this moment in time, much like the dinosaurs were in theirs.
Why don't they teach you about dinosaurs in College?
They would, if you chose to study it yourself.
he only heads that are in the sand are those palentologists. There is a difference between reading the Bible & knowing the Bible.I know the Bible first-hand
Did you write it like? I'm afraid there are people far more knowledgable than you in such matters my friend.
and I know the real science, the medical science. Frankly that is the only science that matters in human life. Sure humans have created plenty of things that are useful in our everyday lives thanks to science, but humans can't lay a factual theory on how old the Earth was or fill our minds with BS, that Dinosaurs were here for 65 million years and an asteriod made them all extinct globally. BS theories like that belong in movies titled "science-fiction." Dinosaurs are as real as King Kong. Put two fictional creatures in a movie & you get a remake of a classic.
And where is the factual evidence to support the idea that God created the world or of the flood or of anything like that? The bible? A book? If we said that 'this book tells us that the earth evolved and dinosaurs existed' you would tell us how the people who wrote the book were ill informed and that it was just a book, pointless info. For pity's sake, I could write a bible now and start preaching about it and who knows in a thousand years time people could believe my ideas of creation above all others. There are many creation stories, because that is all they are, stories. Stories that people tell one another because they have no proof as to the contrary. -
Isn't it strange how pretty much everyone has a treasured stuffed toy they've had since childhood. I myself have a bear named Rainbow, since he is multicoloured like one. Most of his fur has fallen out so now he wears small sweaters that my mam knitted for him to keep him warm ^_^. I have a pocket watch that I was given as an 18th Birthday present from a dear friend of mine. It isn't something I can really wear without looking odd but I still treasure it because of its uniqueness. I also have a poetry book that is rather old, just over 100 years old actually. It isn't by any poet who is particularly well known but I do love it because it is musty and stained somewhat and just exudes the toll of life and time. I love it.

Sage, you've captured the expression on your characters face very well in both instances. The sorrow is almost palpable. The contrast between the two halves of her face is also quite interesting. Good work ^_~.

Angelina Jolie - Seriously, I don't know how her very image doesn't melt the screen. How someone can exude such a strong sensual yet powerful presence is completely beyond me. Johnny Depp - The man's a genius what else do you need to know. He is completely maliable and can change himself for any role. He is engaging and uniquely attractive. Anything with Johnny is a hit in my book. Tim Burton - I really can't think of a Tim Burton movie I didn't like (although Planet of the Apes was a close call). From Edward Scissor Hands to Big Fish to Nightmare Before Christmas, his gothic way of portraying the stories he chooses are both creepy and fantastical and I just love his macabre sense of humour. I also have to agree with Generic on Christian Bale. I loved the guy in American Psycho and Equilibrium. His role in Reign of Fire, however, could not save this dire movie, though I still enjoyed watching him perform.
