heh. Never ever thought I would start a thread in here for poems. I don't think this thread will be updated often. I just write poems in a spur of the moment fashion. And I hardly ever get inspiration. But these are two I just wrote. Hope it ain't too violent. I don't like the last 2 lines. I don't get all of the ad's and stuff but I get all of those ridiculusly large forwards that everybody sends around. I consider them SPAM. I hate them. The other day I got this one that was talking about an old lady who walked into a grociery store. She let some cash register girl stick her hand in a box. Then the Girl starts screaming. THen apparently you are to send it to 8 people and puch Alt+8 to make the container appear on your screen. Pure idiocracy. So my friend got angry with it because it was somewhere near 300 Kb. And this is what she said. . . . whoa. I love them! I think I like the second one best, tho. I like stuff that talks about the coming Darkness and all that dark mess. Very cool. ^^ 7/10 for the first simply because it didn't flow all that well. 11/10 for teh second cuz, I like it so. 9/10 for the third. It seems well. . . broken. Like you started it and then came back to it. It seems like the first 2 verses are slightly different in the feeling they give off. Could just be me in my sleep deprived state.

Like I said Shippo, I stayed away from posting my stuff until I felt I was good enough to compete with people like you, Dan, and Koala. I think they are almost there. I have worked on mastering Paintshop Pro 8 which is another reason my stuff has improved. I used to use some crappy picture editing software. Now that I have something that is specifically for making wallpapers and banners I can do a lot more. [/COLOR] [COLOR=orangered]This next is my absolute favorite that I have ever done. I spent 3 hours alone on cropping Chii and making her perfect. I still go back every now and then to spiff her up. And the text isn't too good on this one either. But I think the simplicity of it does justice to the moving of the background. I used the distortion effect, or something like that, to creat the ring of Chii's. Two different pictures. Both took forever to crop. I used the same image that was in the last one. I had to recrop it though. I forgot to save teh cropped version. Ooopps. Oh well. I think this one turned out mooch better. Lemme know whatcha think, k?[/COLOR]

Since you replied for me, I will do the same for you. I guess I will go backwards. I like the Legato banner. I just don't like the bluish rim that surounds the robot. It looks like you were unable to crop or something. Anime Ninja. I LOVE it!!!! I think the two images were blended perfectly. I really like how the girl is a tad bit shadowed. It adds depth to your banner. Nioce work. The Torchic one is soo cute! What is it from? I like the block pattern in the background. I looks really good. And your submission to the contest. That is so cute. I love the picture. It is sweet and pretty. Very nice cropping on all of the above. I hope to see more.

Beautiful as always Leh. ^^ I like the second one a lot!! It is really nice. Very clean in the cropping department. Who is that guy? The background also looks very good with the overall banner. The first. . . what is that thing? It is kindof cute. . . yet kind of creepy. My problem with that banner is the text. It is slightly smooshed making it difficult to read in some places. heh. It has been forever and a half since I last posted my stuff. So many more people have come to this portion of the OB. I think I want all the new folks (and you loveable old guys too) to see my newest stuff. I have pretty much been in hiding with my stuff until I could "better" myelf and my wallpapering skills. The first is my second favorite wallpaper I have ever done. It took me 1 hour and a half to get it to perfection. I thought it was pretty darn good. You will tell me if it isn't. Meh. I don't want to be mean. . . but I have to be. That banner is. . . . not as good as it could be. I realize that you are new to this. I am glad you wanted to get into making banners. So here goes. You stretched your image to far on a side-to-side basis. Even if you do it in paint make sure you do not stretch it so far. I don't care if it isn't 500 pixels wide. There are people here who make banners that aren't even 150 pixels wide. The second thing is the image quality. I don't know why, but your image has some funky colors on it. I'm not sure if it is supposed to be like that. The third is that little box around your text. If you did use paint, there is a way to make it where that box is not there. Just work on your banners and I am sure that it will all turn out fine. Ok? I would just like to repeat how glad I am that you got into making banners. heh. You should definitly move to my town. ^__^ EVERYBODY here loves music. Last weekend a bunch of people got together just to have a music party. No drugs, booze, or anything like that. I don't think they had anything but cokes and food. They all sat around just listening to music and havin a good ol' time. Or if you like hardcore, you could come with me to all the shows that come. I like to sit there and watch everybody else instead of talking and stuff. They are all there for the music. I find it amazing that even kids who hate each other so much are drawn together in the music. Perfect example My brother and the kid he hates most, Justin. They were both in the pit moshin last tuesday at the Bury Your Dead show. (If you have never heard of Bury Your Dead, check them out!! They are the best!) My brohter accidently swing-kicked Justin. And simply because they both knew that with that kindof music violent things happen, Justin said it was ok and my bro was sorry. Right after BYD ended though they were back to their old selves and ready to fight. It's kind of weird that people will stop whatever they are doing for the music. My 'rents are pretty much the only parents I know that actually support my brothers' and my different music tastes. When my brother first got into punk rock and all that metal stuff, they were pretty much ok with it. When I got into it, it was harder for them, but they dealt with it. They have always incouraged us to be whatever we want to be. They really are the most laid-back kind of parents. And I love them for it. My mom grew up in a gospel home. She sang in teh church choir and was very active in the church. She still loves all that music, but now she like different stuff too. I was shocked last year when she went to the Green Day concert with me and knew all the words. She listens to the alot of the same stuff I do. She's got all of the radios turned to the rock stations. She claims she listens to it for "protective purposes" but I know she likes it. ^^ My dad is another story. He also grew up in a gospel home. He was actually in a gospel band for 10 or more years. He loves country and gospel and that is about it. He doesn't listen to "our kind of music." When the radio is on a (modern) rock station he either turns it off or down. But he loves all of the rock stuff he listened to growing up like ACDC, Zepplin, and Kiss. Most of my music tastes probably come from my brother. As I said in my last post I will listen to just about anything. I love country music, opera, hardcore, punk rock, pop/punk, pop, classical, techno, electronic (what James was talking about), and everything else except for rap. I like some of it, but not near enough according to one of my friends. I listen to classical and electronic and techno for the music. I love how passionate people like Beethoven or Fatihless can make the music sound with little or no lyrics. I love it. I probably listen to songs with words more than I do the ones without. I don't listen to all of them because I can relate to the words. It is simply because they have words. I love to sing. Simple as that. I know all the words to everything because I donot like not being able to sing. I like to listen to the groups that I can relate to more because. . . I can't explain it. It's like when I sing their songs I feel something deep inside. When I listen to Further Seems Forever's "I am" it's like I have moved to a completely different world and I loose myself in the music. Time could stop and I wouldn't notice so lon ga sthe music kept going. It's crazy. _If life was without music, I would have died 15 years ago_ ~Haze

As a supreme gundam fan and a girl, I can help you with your question. ^__^ I do not like Relena. It isn't as stupid as "she is messing with my 2x1 pair!!! I wanna kill her for it!!" Heh. I have never thought that. I think Relena is valuble to the show because it helps bring in a wider variety of people: from chicks to guys who want chicks with a bit of brains. She is powerful, loving, compassionate, and influential. I think the show would not have been as popluar without her. Every thing that Qukey said in the second paragraph of his/her last post is right. I don't like her though. Although she does all I said up there I still don't like her. The main reason is her beliefs. I cannot stand pacifism. I think the creators made her seem a little silly with how she is such a hard-core pacifist but is in love with a war-machine. You could even go so far as to say (if you really wanted to get into feminist ideals) that the creators did that to show that women are indecisive and silly. And that women are unable to get past their feelings for men and think reasonably. You could also say they meant that women are willing to try anything before war. Heh. Now that is taking feminism strongly. I do NOT believe like that though. I think perhaps the creators meant to make her seem childish but that is about it. I do not think pacisfism works at all. So I do not like her because of her hard-core attitude on the subject. I find her to be childish in her manner, but I will give her some sophistication. Don't know if that was what you wanted, but at least I tried. ^__^ ~haze

Honestly that is a good question. I suppose it has to do with what they find pleasing with the music. Just like you enjoy all forms of music (minus boy bands) they like what they like. It is a matter of opinion, simple as that. I guess it has something to do with what excites our brains. I for one like evey kind of music I can get my hands on. Music is something that I love so I try to take in all kinds. Other people don't agree with some of what I like. Actually we were talking about this in english teh other day. A girl in my class asked my teacher to turn on some music, anything would do, just not opera. And I turned to her and said "what is wrong with opera?" She just looked at me like I was crazy and basically said that opera was boring, stupid, and had no point since no one listens to it. I told her that it wasn't true. Some people actually enjoy opera. Such as me. It takes me back to that "old-world" feel and makes me feel graceful and delicate. ^__^ imagine that. Music has so much power to it. We pick the types we like by what most agrees with us. I like Opera because of the reasons aforementioned. Other people like boy-bands because maybe they long for love or have been heartbroken, which is exatly what they sing about. I think it has a bit more to do with the lyrics than the music. Take Emenem (sorry, I don't know how to spell that). His actual music is great. Good beat, good sound. But people don't listen to him because of his lyrics. So those are my two theories. The first is that we listen to what we find aesthetically pleasing. The second is that we listen to it for its lyrical qualities. That sound good? ~Haze

Baron. . . . You are my baanner-making God!!!!!!! The banner is awesome. It has an abstract quality to it although you can still see the actual pictures to it. The colors are good. Except for where the green and yellow meet. The others have this nice flow that is seemles, but when you hit the green and yellow it's like Bam! you had yellow now you have green. No flow whatsoever. But the rest is the best! I think you just moved up to number one on the list of my-banner-making-heroes. Nice Work!!! ~haze

1.The pinky one. I think the pink shows up better. 2. for the text, I would suggest something like a dark blue or something dark. 3. I would loose teh text shadow. Not the shadow/transparency of the actual picture. 4. No name 5. I think it would look cool kind of towards the bottom right. heh. I like it. Since you got help from Kyo I am not surprised that your text is bad. (I am just kidding Kyo!) ^_^ You can't read it at all. I can see "we will" because it is on a white background. What program do you use? I think you should work on changing that font color. Even if you use Paint you should be able to see that you can't read teh colors. Keep it up though. ~haze

Hey Katana!!! I really like this batch. ^^ I think I have seen some of them before. Fruits & Baskets one: yah kno, I have never seen that one. I heard of it, but I have never seen it. Oh well. My only complaint is the chick in the middle and to the right. She is brighter than everybody else. The ones of Knives and Vash are soooo good. I don't quite like teh background for the Knives one, but it is still pretty. the Jenna one. . . . . WOW!!!!!!!! I love it exactly the way it is. I love the two contrasting sides to it. So good! Nice jorb! And since i am lazy I will skip all of the rest until you get to the last one. . . .THAT IS THE FUNNIEST THING I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! did you like replay that part a million adn 5 times or something? I was very disappointed with the level of banners that were shown. It was almost like the contest wasn't taken seriously which makes me kind of sad but even more mad. I judged these slightly on the hard side, but that is because I don't want to give good scores to a bad banner. I didn't stick with my usual "nice-girl" approach and went with what was the truth. Honestly, don't go for markers! They are disgusting. . . . They smear, they ruin your pictures, they blead, and they make it look your drawring look very childish. Go for either colored pencils (I like colorific, but any will do. It's just a matter of the actual colors you get) or these neat little things called Water-color pencils. you color them like a normal colored pencil and then you brush on water and Viola! you have a "painted" picture. Very cool. Please don't use marker if your picture came out that nice. Please. . . Your picture begs you. . . . *hold up picture* "gotenks92, this is your trunks picture talking. Please don't hurt me with those icky markers!! Please!!!!!!" *puts down picture* Now how can you refuse that?!?!? ^__^ ~haze

And just what is this "new facade" huh Baron?? What time will it happen? I didn't think it possible, but I love the orange one even more. The sparkles or dust whatever you would like to call it adds something different. I absolutly LOVE how you made the rays and the splotches overlap. I have never seen that done on a banner.
