1. I agree that it is time to close this thread. It has resorted to name calling and before it gets any worse and turns into a flame war I will go ahead and lock this one up. Don't resort to name calling, it only causes problems. -Panda
2.
It depends on how I'd feel that day.....

Only if I could face no repercussions..

Yeah! I'd shot them to hell...S.O.B's
I have deleted these to posts due to their poor post quality. Please put more effort into your responses. Explain why you have made that decision to kill someone if given the chance. Short responses like these are considered spam. Edit: Post quality needs to improve in this thread or it will be locked. Please put effort into your posts when responding.
3.
um.. sorry but if you put the brain in a fake body say an andoid it's possiple :smirk:
Welcome to theOtakuBoards Inukenomaru. Please be aware that we have a rules page that all members are required to read before posting. The Rules and FAQ can also be found on the left navigation menu. We have pretty high standards when it comes to the quality of posts (ie: making them well thought out with care given to grammar). When you re-read the rules page it will make more sense to you. Please put a little more effort into your responses. Most one line posts are considered spam. Double posts are also not allowed on the boards. The above post I have quoted will be deleted after I post this because of that rule. If you have any questions please feel free to PM myself or any of the other moderators. Again, I welcome you to the boards and I hope to see you posting around the site. Have fun! ~Panda
4.
Understood, but I am not spamming, can exceptions be made?
Taken directly from the Rules page of the site: · Swearing: OtakuBoards uses a censor in our software to protect against most inappropriate language. However, it is not acceptable to use special characters in order to bypass the censor. Swearing and offensive words, in any format, are considered spam at our site. · Double Posting: OtakuBoards does not allow for double posting. If members post a message and wish to post another directly after, we ask that they edit their original message rather than create a new one. The only time we allow an exception to this rule is if a member is posting fan fiction. If your fan fiction is too big for one post, you may double post. As the bold area has stated, any swearing and offensive words, in any format, are considered spam here. Exceptions to this rule will not be made. It would be best to continue any questions you have on this via PM as to not disrupt the flow of the topic at hand.
5.
Lesson #3 The True Pick up Artist Bill of Rights 1-Thou shall always be talking to a minimum of 3-5 girls. Talking to only 1 shall result in the terminal disease called ONE-ITIS! This disease is always fatal and because it is so severe, it has 2 stages. Common symptom of stage 1 ONE-ITIS are the following: -thinking she's so much different from any girl you've met. -thinking she is the most beautiful girl in the world. -thinking she is very innocent and moral. Common symptoms of stage 2 ONE-ITIS are the following: -calling her 2-3x a day, just to talk. -staying on the phone for 1-2 hours when she calls you. -analyzing everything she says and does. Example: "I saw Mary-Beth in the hall today, she looked my way, what did she mean by that???" -completely ignoring every other girl who shows interest in you. -asking anyone and everyone for advice and to analyze her actions. -when asking for advice, you explain EVERY LITTLE ****-IN' DETAIL about what she was wearing and how she smiled at you at 1:00pm so the listener can "understand completely." -thinking your different from the 1,0000000000000 other "good guy friends" she has. 2-Thou shall not throw away any opportunity to practice your pimping skills. I don't care if you have to practice on 13 year olds, grandma's, hookers etc. As long as they are female, sharpen your PUA skills to perfection. 3-Thou shall use girls to get other girls. Always take girls with you when you go out, because once other girls see you they'll become intrigued and want to find out what all the fuss is about. 4-Thou shall not choose one girl over another. If more than one girl wants you, don't choose. **** both of them until one leaves. That way you get the best of both world's :D 5-Finally, Thou shall read all pages on this thread, so Sauce-head does not have to ****in' repeat himself over and over and over. This is self explantory. If I don't have to repeat the same ***** over and over, we have more time and space to discuss advanced pickup techinques.
Sauce-head, second warning, do not double post and please watch the language in your posts. I am going to delete the above post since it violates the double-post rule of the site. -Panda
6.
I will continue to post the lessons, keep patient as they are written.
Welcome to the site Sauce-head. This second post should have been edited into your first post. Double posts are against the rules on the OB. Because of that I am going to delete the second post quoted above. If you have any questions please feel free to PM myself or any of the other moderators. Have fun posting! -Panda
7. This topic is best suited for the Art Studio. I will move it over there and you will probably get the reponses you are looking for. -Panda
8. Please put more effort into starting a thread CaptainAnarchy. This thread is not the quality we like to see on the OtakuBoards. We want threads that will produce discussion amongst the members and not just one line reply posts that tend to be spammy. Because of this I am going to close your thread. If you have questions about posting on the OtakuBoards please feel free to PM myself or any of the other moderators on the site. -Panda
9. I have edited my reason for closing the thread. Here is what I added to help end confusion over the reason of the thread closure. "To help clarify any confusion by members as to why this post was closed it is because it is a circular arguement. For example, it is like saying "I need money, but to earn money I need a job, but to get a job I need a car, but to get a car I need money". Repeat til the end of time. It's a catch 22, not matter what, it ends up stuck in the same vicious cycle. I apologize for any confusion as to why the post was closed, I assumed it was obvious to all readers in the thread. I will leave more detailed reasons for all thread closures from now on. Again, I am sorry that the reason was not made clear." I was not feeling by best on the day due to my chemotherapy treatment and I closed the thread without putting my usual effort into explaining why I closed it. I should have taken more time to explain why the thread was closed but I assume that it would be obvious to anyone reading the thread. I always welcome PMs if there are any questions. If someone disagrees with a decision I have made I am more than happy to discuss the issue. Or if you do not feel comfortable talking to me please PM one of the other moderators. I have no problems with that at all. I am all for checks and balances. I hope that helps clear up any misunderstandings. As for what to do to keep threads from being closed. -Stay on topic and don't highjack a thread to take it another direction. -Do not troll, bait or flame other members. -If debating, bring in new information to support your views, not rehash the same information over and over again. -Put effort into your responses. Having posts like "I like it too because it's cool." is considered spam and doesn't add to the discussion. I have had some of my own threads which were very popular and had many responses closed because other people could not put the effort into their responses. It sucks, but when you think about it, it is just an anime/gaming message board, not the end of the world. Hope that helps answer you question. I am sure there are others who are willing to share insights as to what not to do when posting. :)
10. I am sure many of you will agree that this thread has run it's course and needs to be put to rest. Thread closed. -Panda Edit: To help clarify any confusion by members as to why this post was closed it is because it is a circular arguement. For example, it is like saying "I need money, but to earn money I need a job, but to get a job I need a car, but to get a car I need money." Repeat til the end of time. It's a catch 22, not matter what, it ends up stuck in the same vicious cycle. I apologize for any confusion as to why the post was closed, I assumed it was obvious to all readers in the thread. I will leave more detailed reasons for all thread closures from now on. Again, I am sorry that the reason was not made clear.
11. Please stay on topic and not turn this thread into a flame war. I don't want to see anyone getting banned over this. Please stay on topic and not resort to name calling and fighting. I will close this thread if it continues. -Panda
12.
I bet you do, but how on earth could you live thinking you are not loved by the one who created you? It tears people's lives apart if their own parents abandoned them. God is our father.
Welcome to the boards ...Coolness.... Double posts are not allowed on the OtakuBoards. I will be deleting the above double post after I post this. If you need to add something please edit your post versus starting a new post immediately after a post you just made. A reminder to everyone, short one line posts are generally considered spam on the boards. Be sure to add some effort into your responses. Thanks all.
13. It appears that this thread has run it's course since it has gone off topic. Because of that I am going to close this thread. -Panda
14. Welcome to theOtakuBoards Lady Rin. We encourage people to introduce themselves within their posts as they enter discussions throughout the boards. We would rather that, than having a ton of introduction threads. If you have any questions please feel free to PM myself or any of the other moderators. Again, I welcome you to the boards and I hope to see you posting around the site. Have fun! ~Panda
15. Judging if a seiyuu is a good actor is difficult if you are not use to the language. Little things like the different characters' speech patterns that will be lost on someone who isn't accustomed to the language. What sounds weird to those who only speak english will be common place in Japanese. Like how voices, especially female voices, get higher when they are excited. I can tell you from experience with my mom and her sisters that when you get a group of Japanese women together having fun, the sound of their voices could shatter glass! A perfect example of a seiyuu's voice acting skill that will be lost on those who don't speak Japanese would be accents. In Ranma 1/2 there is the Juusenkyo Guide. Many of you may have notice that the english language VA has a Chinese accent, well so does the Japanese seiyuu. The seiyuu's accent is very well done and actually quite funny to listen too. Regional dialects and foreign accents of the seiyuus will most likely be overlooked which doesn't give them the credit they deserve. Voice acting skills in the primary language you speak is the easiest thing to judge. Judging a foreign language voice acting is something many of us do not have the adequate experience and grasp with the language to do with confidence.

17. I feel the success of long distance relationships depends on the people involved. In my case the long distance relationship I had with my husband worked. When we first met he was going to flight school at the college here in my hometown. He moved here from a small town about 3 hours away. We became very good friends during his time here for college. We did not date during this time since he was 21 and I was 16. He moved to Florida pursuing his flying career while I stayed here in Washington state completing high school and college. We began our long distance relationship at this time. The long distance relationship was very difficult. He was not here to celebrate with me during things like my senior prom, holidays, graduation from high school and college as well as several birthdays. I knew this is how it would be having a long distance relationship. My phone bill every month was very high since this was before webcams and messenger services became popular. We had to send snail mail to share pictures! Of course, there is something really exciting about getting snail mail with pictures in it! ^_^ He did move back to Washington to continue his education. He was going to a college in the state but it was 4 1/2 hours away. On the weekends he would drive over to my house after his last classes finished for the week and then get up really early on Monday and drive back. During this point in our relationship it seemed the most difficult since we could be together physically and spend time together, yet circumstances would separate us. We made it through the tough times and are now very happily married. All the loneliness during the long distance relationship was worth what we have today. Not many people can handle long distance relationships. Long distance relationships are a lot of work and trust has to be one of the keys components in your relationship. I would like to wish the very best of luck to anyone in a long distance relationship.
18. Pet peeves. There are so many little things that get on my nerves so I am going to just concentrate on one aspect of my daily life...The Otaku Lounge. I am annoyed by people who start threads or respond to threads and do not follow the rules. They start spammy threads which results in spammy responses. They either don't stay on topic or hijack the thread. These people generally don't add anything to the topic at hand. Even worse, when they don't even bother to take the time to spell correctly or use proper capitalization and punctuation. Flamers and trollers also get on my nerves. I hate it when people join message boards just to assert themselves under the cloak and protection of the internet. Usually these people are the same ones in a face to face discussion would never think of saying the same things they feel comfortable saying online. People who play mod and "yell" at another member for doing something they feel is wrong. These members need to learn to use the "Report a thread" button in the post instead of playing mod. I think that pretty much sums up my pet peeves. Edit: I forgot to add one of my other pet peeves dealing with the OL and being online in general. People who try to make other members look bad by taking things out of context or try to read more into a post by assuming things.
19. How about I end this off topic "when is this going to get locked" debate by closing this right now. Thank you to those who actually took this thread seriously and responded to the actual subject.
20. My condolences for your loss. It would have been best to PM the people you are involved in different projects than starting a thread. Again, I am sorry for your loss. ~Panda

22. Being the good submissive Japanese wife I am, (that's a joke by the way) I took my husband's last name when I married. When I write I use my maiden name along with my married last name. The reason I did that is because there is another person who is very active in writing that has the same name as my married name. The down side to me taking my husband's last name is that many people when they hear my name expect to see a German woman and instead get a Japanese one! Oh well.

Wolf's Rain

Welcome to the boards Chibi-chan. Anime related topics need to be posted in the Anime Lounge. There is already a Wolf's Rain thread started there and it would be best to join that discussion. You can see that thread here.
24. I love Halloween! My neighborhood is great for trick or treating. We get hundreds of kids here. My neighbors consists of young families and retirees in a closed street area...in other words we don't have through traffic, just lots of cul-de-sacs. So it is really safe for the kids to be out and about. All the older people in the neighborhood are like grandparents and are really cool. ^_^ I get two types of candy. The cheap stuff for the masses (Toostie pops and Smarties) and the good stuff (Snickers and the like). If you show up in a good costume you get the good stuff. If you show up in an anime related costume you get a big handful of the good stuff! Show up in no costume you get one of the cheap candies. I believe you should be rewarded for effort. I will be wearing my panda hoodie, black leggings and furry boots when answering the door. It keeps me warm, is not a scary costume for the little kids and it's a panda...what other reason would I need?! Being warm is very important here in Washington, I have gone many a year trick or treating in the snow. Not fun let me tell ya. Brrrrrr!
25. Just a friendly reminder. Do not use this thread to flame each other. Discussion on the different views of the political landscape is fine, name calling and flaming is not.
