1. Space.
A cold, endless vortex that is said to expand further and further into nothingness every second. Space was said to be mankind's last frontier. But when our ancestors decided to ravaged our home planet, Earth, until there was nothing left, it was the only place our race could go. That was over 2000 years ago - the year being 4210 AD, 1360 AE (After Earth). Now we humans live on a space nicknamed Metal Earth - a shoddy steel replica of our home planet. Bet you?re wondering how this massive steel ball is able to support 3 billion people? Well, you see, before our ancestors decided to screw the rest of us over by using all the resources on Earth, some so-called genius scientists made this entity they dubbed PRINCESS. Now PRINCESS is what makes Metal Earth exist. She grows our food, supplies us with drinkable water and somehow manages to produce any commodity that the colony ever needs. Or so the government says. Everyone on this colony knows that PRINCESS exists, but no one, I mean no one, not even the President of the World Union (our government), has ever seen this seemingly mighty invention. But even this invention has its faults. Rumours have been flying around the colony, largely mentioning that PRINCESS is failing. I've noticed things - small things - that could prove this theory. For example - showering times have been restricted to 3 minutes, food rations have been halved in quantity and quality, and there have even been blackouts throughout the entire colony. Now, this may be a little inconvenient for the white-collars (people working behind desks or desk-jobs), but for us blue-collared labourers, this is the beginning of a nightmare. As well as the rumours about PRINCESS failing, there have been other rumours floating around - ones regarding KING. KING is supposedly our saviour. Apparently, KING is the prototype of PRINCESS and is able to create a planet bigger than Earth, with unlimited resources, from scratch to completion in a matter of hours. But, there?s a catch. For one, we don?t even know it exists. It may be a wild-goose chase that spans the entire universe. Secondly, even if we knew it existed, we?d need a map to find it. And it is said that the combination of five specific people?s DNA would make the map. It?s like trying to find a five needles in a haystack. Five people, from three billion. They might not even be alive, so there goes that theory down the toilet. Personally, I reckon it's a load of ********. By the way, the name's Van. I'm one of the many spaceship mechanics upon Metal Earth. And one day, I'm going to get off this God-forsaken piece of space junk and find myself a real planet one day.
================================================ This RPG is about the 'quest' to go find KING. It won't start out as a quest straight away, because there is something that needs to happen to initiate this quest. I can't tell you much, because it would give everything away. You could see men and women, all in blue overalls, working around huge metallic spaceships - wielding, cutting, ripping, repairing. You could smell the acrid scent of grease, oil and hot metal in the air. One man, in blue overalls, however, was leaning against one of the giant steel walls, lighting a cigarette. His longish, golden-blonde hair flailed from side to side as he brought his head up with the cigarette now perched in his mouth. He had two earrings - one is a stud, the other a simple silver ring. A knotted leather necklace with a black cross on it hung around his neck simply. " Oi Van!" came a gruff voice from across the floor. Van looked up with a raised eyebrow. It was his boss, Jimmy, that was called him. " Yeah, what do ya want?" Van called back, taking the cigarette out of his mouth. " Got a AI here to see ya! Something about the census form you never filled out!" Van growled. He'd filled out that form two weeks ago and sent it to the World Government, like every other citizen on this steel ball did. Walking over to his boss, Van saw a robot standing next to him. The AI was modelled like a human, but had a computer screen for a head, and a large flat screen for its chest. Van took another puff of his cigarette before speaking to the AI. " Yeah? I sent that form two weeks ago." " According to our records...you have not... sir..." replied the jarred, computerised voice of the AI. " Please...fill this out... again sir." A list of questions appeared on the tiny screen in the AI's chest. Van answered them all accordingly. Van raised his eyebrow as he watched the machine walk off, cigarette now back in his mouth. " Someone really needs to make those things more user friendly. Why can't they have hot chicks doing those sort of things?" Van said to his boss. Jimmy shrugged. " They probably can't find any."
2. Thanks Ezekiel! Those look great! If anyone else wants to try, they are more than welcome to. ^_^
3. Since I'm on a Naruto craze at the moment, I thought I'd ask for two sets of banners and avis please. Number 1 A Sasuke themed banner and avi. Use your creativity to come up with something. I don't want my username on either of the images. But I would like the quote 'Loneliness is a deep hell...' on the banner please. Preferrably a darker theme to the images would be nice. Number 2 A Naruto themed avi and banner set. Again, use your creativity with this one as well. No username on either. I'd like the quote 'My existence will be acknowledged' on the banner please. Perhaps a lighter colour scheme would compliment it?
4. I've only ever seen one musical in my life (a real production) and that was 'Dirty Dancing'. It was very good, having never seen the movie before. The guy who played the main character was HOT! Lol. But my favourite would have to be the musical we did in high-school. It was a comdey about one of the Henry's of England. The one that had a heap of wives. It was written by two Brisbane guys and it is absolutely hilarious. What made it even more hilarious were the mistakes made by the cast and crew. For example, I was on the mic-board while one of my friends was doing the sound effects. There was this one scene where the German King (who is addicted to golf) swings and is supposed to smash a glass window. Instead of the smashing-window sound effect, my friend did the cow-mooing-getting-hit sound effect. It was funny because the actor who was the German King was a completely random improvised joke about it.
5. Ooooooo... difficult question. Hmm.... Mine, I think, would be either, 'Bring Me to Life' by Evanscence, or 'Raising Fighting Spirit' from Naruto. I don't know why, but I always feel really good when I hear either of those songs.
6. GO COLE TURNER!! (who is Australian and is a relation of an ex-Prime Minister XD) My personal favourite was Prue. I don't exactly remember her power but I think it was because I could relate to her, being the older sister of three girls.
7. Cars, which ones are your favourites? Do you like the newer models of cars or the classics? Do you like the expensive, almost near-impossible to get ones, or just the run-of-the-mill kind? You can name specific brands and models if you like. I'm sort of in the middle-type of gal. I like some of the new cars, some of the classics. Newer models I like include: - Ferrari Enzo (I heard a guy in American crashed one of these by wrapping it around a pole. I almost cried when I heard that) - Subaru WRX - Holden CV8 Monaro (you Americans probably know this as a Pontiac something-a-rather. They originally come from Australia and are called Monaros over here) - Mazda RX-8 - Toyota Supra - Mitsubishi FTO - Hyandai (sp?) Triburon & Coupe Some of the older classics include: - Holden Monaros (*drools* one of the cops in my town owns one of them. If you don't know what I mean by an older Monaro, think of the General Lee from 'The Dukes of Hazzard') - Ford Shelby GT 500 - Ford Mustangs I think that's about all. XD
8. If I remember correctly, I wanted a signature for my artwork at high-school. And since I had only just started watching anime, I wanted something sort of Japanese-y. I don't know how I came up with Reiku, but I use it now for all my artwork as my signature, including my website. ^_^
9. My fave colours are: 1. Burnt orange 2. White silver 3. Steely blue 4. Australian SS commodore hero colour green (see attachment) 5. Hot pink
10. Both genders confuse each other. It's how it is, unfortunately. I grew up living on a farm, surrounded by men most of my life (father, workers, grandfathers). So naturally, I was a downright tomboy until I hit 18, and could understand a guy's way of thinking sometimes much better than a girl's at times when I was younger (actually I still do. XD). I didn't see the point with all the fuss girls were making about boys, make-up, clothes, etc. Sometimes I still don't.
11. OOC: Since Kairi hasn't posted yet, I'll start our adventure and meet with him up somewhere. So sorry about this. Kairi.... you will pay..... :P A growl eminated from Kura's lips. She knew that Geri was being sarcastic, but whenever that word was said, it reminded her of Kane. However, there was something more pressing on her mind. " Geri, do you know where Joseph went?" Kura asked. Geri shook her head. " I haven't seen him since early this morning. He said he was going somewhere. I tried to get it out of him, where he was going, but he flat out refused to tell me." " Very well," Kura sighed. " Could you go find Nasca for me please? I need to speak with her." " Okay..." Geri went off to find the ship's navigator while Kura looked out to the sea. The sun was already high in the sky. They were originally going to set out in the morning, getting a full day of sailing in before night fell. But the disappearance of Joseph had Kura worried - worried that one dayhe would leave them suddenly one day. He was a free-spirit sort of man so Kura was paranoid that he would leave without telling them. A sudden twittering in the sky alerted Kura. She looked up and saw a hawk circling in a sky. A hawk? It fluttered down to her, Kura holding out her arm for it to land on. Attached to the hawk's leg was a scroll of parchment. Instantly, she knew what it was. She took the parchment from the hawk, who took off after the scroll was taken from the leg, and unrolled it. It was as she suspected. " Kura?" Nasca asked nervously from behind. Kura turned slowly around, the parchment still in her hands. " Nasca, we're setting course for Kikya Port. We're meeting Joseph there. Please make the necessary adjustments to your maps and navigation." " Yes ma'am." Nasca scurried off to do what was instructed. Next thing Kura knew was that Chris and Murphy came aboard the ship, Chris looking rather bedraggled. Her eyebrow arched. " What happened?" Murphy gave a chuckle. Chris shook his head. " Don't ask." " Very well. We're about to cast off." " What?" Murphy suddenly said. " What about Joey?" Kura sighed again. " He sent me a message saying he'd meet us at Kikya Port. He didn't say why, but we can't go without him." " Ok then." Geri and Maxcine came above deck and climbed the mast to unfurl the sails to catch the wind while the two men hoisted the anchor from the water's depths. Nasca and Kura were at the helm, Kura looking over the course Nasca had set. As the wind caught the sails, the ship lurched forward with a great creaking noise. Before long, they were out into the open sea. Kura was at the stern, watching Loguetown disappear with the horizon. Goodbye..... home.... OOC: Again, just give a post of filler. Sorry about that.
12. Hmmm.... that's a tough question. I'm not entirely sure what I'd do. To sacrafice one person to save possible billions, there are arguements for both sides. On the side that yes, I would sacrafice one person to save billions. That means saving billions of people and letting them live their lives to the possible fullest. They wouldn't have to suffer what those diseases and hunger do to the body and the mind. However, on the other side of the arguement, what about the person you sacraficed? If they volunteered to be that person and it was what they wanted, then that may be reasonable. But, if they were forced, it would be almost as if you murdered them (I know that's strong words, but I couldn't think of anything else to describe it). And as ManjoumeThunder said, it would put the world out of balance. There are reasons for diseases and hunger. Unfortunately. They are ways to control our population - ways of nature. It's like taking out a link in the food chain.
13. There are a few characters that I'd like to be. I just can't choose between them. 1. Dark from DNAngel - an art thief who is sarcastic and has black angel wings. Who wouldn't want to be him? 2. Kirika from NOIR - a schoolgirl who is an assassin, who can do simply amazing things, using flexibility and her senses. I get goosebumps watching her. 3. Naruto from NARUTO - His determination to protect his friends, to become stronger, to achieve his dream and to have his existence recognised. I can relate to him greatly. 4. Sasuke from NARUTO - Again, I can relate to Sasuke as much as Naruto. I know what it feels like to be completely alone and to think you are completely alone.
14. Thanks Soliel! ^_^ And no problem about the posting.
15. Well, all I can say was that: 1. Yay! Australia won a gold medal! Good on you ex-Canadian millionare moggle boy! 2. I feel sorry for the Aussie girl that crashed out of the Aerial Skiing and reinjuring her knee. I don't know how many time I heard that poor girl scream on the news. 3. Well done to Alisa Camplan, who won a Bronze Medal in the Aerial Skiing, for only training for 20 days before the Olympics, after recovering from knee surgery. Well done Australia. ^_^
16. I think I'd own a cafe/media shop. By media, I mean magazines, comics, manga, dvds, music, games, books - things along those lines. I'd have a cafe where people could sit down and have a cup of coffee and something sweet while reading a book, looking at a magazine or surfing the internet. It'd have that cosy cafe feel, as well as feeling sort of up-to-date and techno-wise. It wouldn't feel too nerdy or too artsy either. Somewhere where people can just chill by themselves, or with friends.
17. Did you know: - that the colour of hippo's sweat is red? - that in a year, an average person walks four miles making their bed? - that an average person spends 2 weeks of their life waiting for traffic lights? - that koalas and humans are the only animals with unique fingerprints? - that a shark is the only fish that can blink with both eyes? - that mageiricophobia is the intense fear of having to cook? - that on average, a 4-yr-old child asks 437 questions a day? - that emus and kangaroos can't walk backwards? - that slugs have four noses? - that every year, the Moon moves a further 3.82 cm from the Earth? I think that's it for now. ^_^
18.
And by the way -- I saw Sharingan eye contacts, but they didn't rotate. Still, very awesome.
Wow Retri! That's really cool. Anyway, I don't mind piercings (although I have none, not even my ears) as long as they aren't all over your body. I've seen some people with like, a million piercings, and they look really bad with them. Some people can pull it off, others can't. Coloured contacts. Hmm... I don't mind them, as long as they're not too way-out. I wouldn't mind getting some burnt orange ones one day. I'd really like to get some ones like Siamese cats' eyes. They're really pretty, the icy blue type (not the cat slits). I wouldn't mind some acid green ones, or jade coloured ones. But that'd be about the extent of my likings. Oh, and the Sharigan ones of course. ^_^
19. Kura smiled as Alex and Maxcine headed below deck to their quarters. She looked around the ship. It was decent and in good condition. The previous owners looked like they cared for the ship well. Making her way up to the bow, Kura felt rather alone and anxious. This would be the first time she would be sailing without Kane. Anger, hate and sadness boiled in her veins but she pushed it away. The time for sadness had passed. The time for hate was now. And the time for anger was to come. The soft clicking of her katana against the soft fabric of her kimono was a comforting sound. Kichikumonji, or Heaven's Cloud, that's what her katana was called. She looked to the sky. There wasn't a cloud from horizon to horizon. A single tear trickled down her cheek, wishing there was a cloud that Kane was looking down at the from, but she hastily wiped it away. She was their captain now, as much as she despised the title, so there was no time to show weakness. They were all hurting, as much as each other, perhaps more than they let on. Kura rummaged around in her kimono. This particular ship had a mermaid for their headpiece. Elegant, graceful, she was. When Kura was a child, she always used to play in the rock pools near Loguetown, pretending she was a mermaid that had washed up onto the shore. She found it quite ironic now that the sea had cast her out too. By eating a Devil Fruit, it was said that the sea would cast its disfavour to the person who ate the fruit, more or less meaning that you were unable to swim at all. You would become a deadweight in the water, helpless. After finally finding what she wanted in her kimono, Kura withdrew a roughly carved traditional Japanese wooden flute. She blew into it. A haunting note echoed from it, almost sounding like it was a calling from another world. Closing her eyes, Kura let herself become absorbed in her music, playing whatever came to her mind. A slow, sorrowful melody played through the salty air. To Kura, everything else but the song she was playing was silenced. Even her control over her Devil Fruit power slipped. Her pink hair glowed vibrantly and started to lift in a non-existent wind. It swirled around her head, looking like pink ribbons flailing around in the wind. Then, suddenly, most of her long luxurious hair was cut, leaving her with shoulder length pink hair. The cut hair now turned into delicate sakura blossoms that danced around her in a slow, enchanting dance. A soft hand broke Kura out of her trance, the blossoms quickly turning back into her hair and rejoining to become her long pink locks. The person who had placed their hand on her shoulder was the man who was in charge of the supplyment of their ship. " There ye be missy. All ye supplies be boarded, and me crew be done. Now, for me payment?" the old, half-toothless man asked, putting out his hand, waiting for gold to hit his palm. " Here. Your payment," Kura said coldly, flipping five gold coins into the man's hand. He looked pleased and left her. Growling at the man for interrupting her, Kura made her way below deck to talk with someone. It felt lonely with only five of them on the ship so far. They were still waiting for the others to board.
20. That's all right Soliel. I'll make sure that we keep your character alive and kicking. ^_^
21. Weird dreams huh? My weirdest dream consists of a T-Rex, me being Spiderman and getting chased by my high-school friends and then me blowing up half a lake DBZ style. I kid you not. It all started on a day like any other. I was getting the mail from down our driveway when the ground starting shaking. Next thing I know a HUGE T-Rex comes stomping up the street, roaring. I started to run up my driveway (which is about 1 km long, in real life) and the damn thing saw me running, so it started to chase me. I managed to get to my house and the thing started to circle the house. You know, in Jurassic Park, that part where the T-Rex looks through the window of the car, the big yellow eye thing, that's what it did to my kitchen window. Then, somehow, I became Spiderman and I fought the T-Rex and won. XD I had the suit on and everything. Then one of my friends turned up at my house, and saw me as Spiderman. For some odd reason, they became obsessed with finding out who I was, and I was off again, running from that person. My other high-school friends managed to join in the chase. I remember this one bit fairly clearly. I had just jumped over this fence that surrounded a pool with decking. I slipped on the decking, still in my Spidey suit, and slid into the pool. The lead person who wanted to know who I was ordered everyone to go after me. I resurfaced and was cornered when I went to web out of the pool, but my web things wouldn't work. So, I jumped over the person in front of me (inhumanly of course), landed on the decking, which I slipped again, and went straight through the legs of the leader person. I did manage to get away after that. It then sorta faded out and I found myself in a changing room, again still in my Spidey suit. The leader person was in there, as well as my friends. I took off my mask and showed him who I was, and laughed at the look on his face because he couldn't believe it was me. Again, somehow, we made it out to a lake that I live near. For some odd reason, I was able to breathe underwater and went down to the bottom of the lake. Then something happened, I can't remember exactly what. But I know I got really angry and did the Kamehameha from DBZ and blew half the lake away. Then my sister woke me up. Lets just say, for once, I was glad that she did it. I was feeling rather disturbed by these weird things at that time.
22. It's true. Dead men do tell no tales. But I'm here to tell you a tale about a man - a dead man to be precise. His name was Gold D. Roger. Now this man was the one and only Pirate King. Aye, the Pirate King. Fame, power, wealth - he had it all. And even on the day of his execution, he held himself like a proud warrior with a devious grin. Even in his final moments, all he did was smile. I know all of this because I was there 15 years ago. I watched the infamous Pirate King die when I was a child. But why am I telling you this? It's all because of One Piece. A man had yelled at Roger just before his death, asking the Pirate King about his legendary treasure he had hidden in the Grand Line. I remember the Pirate King saying " I left it all in One Piece!". My adventure started a year ago when I joined a pirate crew called 'The Cross-Scar Pirates'. My captain's name was Cross-Scar Kane. He was known throughout East Blue for his two-sword style of fighting. It was him who took me aboard his ship and taught me how to be a true pirate, becoming one of my greatest friends in the process. However, it was just three months ago when our so-called friendly first mate, Zerus Pearl, and some of the other mates on the ship mutinied against the captain. They killed the captain and stole the ship and the map Kane had obtained to find One Piece. Myself and some of my most loyal friends managed to escape the bloodbath upon our ship by diving into the dark sea. It was mere luck that we were picked up by a merchant vessel days later and taken to Loguetown, my hometown. There, we've spent the last two months recoperating and organising our return. Now, we want to sevenge reveng for our slaughtered captain and comrades. This is our story. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- A strong wind whipped the sails of a small pirate ship as it bobbled up and down next to a wooden pier. People were scurrying all over the ship and the dock, carrying goods and supplies, seemingly to get ready for the ship's maiden voyage. Aye... it was to be her maiden voyage, maybe her only voyage, if they couldn't make it through the Grand Line. Kane's Crusade, that's what the ship was called, the Crusade for short. It was named after the captain that this ship's crew had previously sailed under, until that unfortunate event. Those memories were still fresh in Kura's mind. The howling winds. The salty ocean spray. The giant crashing waves over the deck. The flashes of lightning. in the sky The booms of thunder. The glints of swords and the bangs of pistols. Blood... screams... chaos... The one image that Kura couldn't forget, even through the darkness of that night, was the execution of her captain. She'd never be able to get that image out of her mind, whether she be awake or asleep. Cross-Scar Kane was as close to her as a brother, perhaps a little more. He was the one that had helped her realise what her true dream was, and she was never able to thank him for that, and it was all because of one man. Zerus Pearl. The mutinous first-mate. It seemed a dream for a while. Kura never would have suspected he'd be the one to lead the rebellion. And what for? A map. A piece of scrubby old parchment that was said to contain the location of One Piece - the legendary treasure of the Pirate King, Gold D Roger. It never ceased to amaze Kura at the greed of some people. To kill for things that are unnecessary for a good life - she just found the concept had to grasp. A male voice suddenly pierced Kura's thoughts. " Kura.... are you spacing out again?" Kura turned around, her very long pink hair following around, to see standing there, smiling. Chris stood there, smiling, his orange hair floating around a little under his black beanie-like hat. " Some things are harder to than others," Kura said simply, resting an arm on her katana. Chris nodded, knowingly. Turning towards the dock, Kura made her way onto the ship, climbing up gangway that most of the people helping supply the ship used. The sails rippled in the wind, the sounds of their flapping giving Kura some sort of strange comfort. Soon... Soon they will be on the open seas again, making their way to the Grand Line, beginning the game of cat-and-mouse between Zerus and themselves. However, their first obstacle was Reverse Mountain. OOC: Welcome guys. I just want your fist posts to be introductions for your characters. We do all know each other very well. I just want you to show everyone how your character acts, so everyone will know. My next post, we'll be heading for Reverse Mountain, and the Grand Line.
23. Should be up soon. I'm going over it with a fine-toothed comb. I've probably missed a whole heap of mistakes, but that always happens (it really frustrates me though ^_^;;).
24. This is the underground for the RPG 'Dead Men Tell No Tales'. If you have any questions or queries, don't hesistate to ask them.
