But if I refresh then my post is there. But when I use basic it doesn't do that and my post shows right up. Don't know if that's a bug or not. I like the orange but I never know if my post went through or not unless I refresh. So for now I've switched to basic. ^^
I'm having the same issue. At first I thought it was my internet having a slow day but its been happening more often. Edit: I'm using the Wet Paint skin.
4. In Tucson, Arizona lately its been up in the in the hundreds. It is currently 8:37pm and according to yahoo weather and the weather channel it is around 95 degrees out. Tomorrow its going to get up to about 105 or higher. We also are going to stay in the hundreds all week from what I gather. Its a little bit better I guess then places who have high humidity cause we have a dry heat. Mostly what I do is stay in doors during the hot parts of the day. When I do need to go some wear I use sunscreen so I won't burn. We don't really open up any windows or even currents. One reason there is rarely any breezes and two the darker the house the cooler it feels. Clothes wise I don't do wear anything special. Just jeans and a tee-shirt. I know Raiha you said A/C doesn't count but its just to easy to over heat without. Besides the A/C we keep the two ceiling fans on in the living room and dinning room. The two ceiling fans in my room and my dads. Plus we have a large regular floor fan in the hall and regular floor my computer room.
5.
Well of course there were worse movies. Like Street Fighter...and Street Fighter: Something something Chun Li....and oh so many more. So I could agree it's not the worst. It's good enough to watch it on movie night on TV or rent it in the Red Box dollar machine. Buuuttttt him shirtless such an eye candy..best part in the film. Now if only we could get rid of the girl..
Agreed. I couldn't stand her either.
6. I like both ideas Lady Shy. I think right now we are trying to see how many people are interested in doing projects. The art studio needs more fun projects now with the whole new upgrade server thing.
7. Saw Prince of Persia yesterday. It was a decent enough movie. I sure don't regret spending the money to go see it. On a side note taxes on items went up in my state. I have never been so mad.
8. I love the idea. I personally like to do both traditional art and digital. I would participate in this if we can figure out a way for it to work. The only request I have is to give people a little more time then with the graphic worm. For me it takes me longer to do a traditional art then digital.
9. I really like the last one the best. My least favorite is the first one. One of the problems I saw with the first one were the eyes. They just seems so off to me. I think if you rounded a little the eye winking it help. In the second one I love the hands. You did a great job on them especially with adding nails. I'm not to fond of the hair style. I covers up to much of the eyes. The third I really have on problems with. If I had to find something its the heart on her bra. It sticks out like its coming off instead of being smooth. The last one I think its the best. You seems to really have found your style with this one. I love the earrings and the eyes. The color choices are good too. The darker tones really make her eyes pop.
10.
Anyone besides me think overly large avatars are tacky and pointless? I find 100x100 and 150x80 to be plenty big enough and there are very few times when I find myself wishing for more space when I make avatars. I think 150x150 would be pushing it and I wouldn't want to see bigger. I say we go with 150x100 so that our current avatar library would fit the max width and the more common 100x100 size would fit the max height.
I have to agree with Desbreko. I'm not a fan of large avatars. In some cases its like making a mini banner if you get to large. I also like the measurements Desbreko stated. This way the vast majority of avatars can be used. It also keeps it more like an avatar then a banner. Another concern I have when the avatars increasing in height with the new banner size wouldn't the forum start looking like its cluttered? By going larger it might be overkill.
11. I find it a bit funny how I haven't posted in a few months and when I do my special title cause a glitch in all the coding. I'm sorry to have caused people trouble with it.
12.
So which of new OB's two skins are you grooving to (and why) ? Liking Wet Paint myself, the reds and greys of Basic are just looking a little too harsh for me over the softer tones of orange and blue.
I agree. The Basic really is hard to look at. It personally hurts my eyes. The Wet Paint is easier on the eyes. I like the colors better too.

Vector Help

Thank You for replying. I ended up going with the live trace method for the jacket. Here is the completed piece. Everything is vector except the background.
14. This is seems weird to me the new system. I was a bit shocked to see I had a Marilyn Manson avatar and Wednesday 13 profile picture before I changed it a few minutes ago.
15. I'm currently working on a new vector of this person. Right now I have a bit of a problem. His jacket is way to flat for my liking. I wanted to add a texture to give it more depth. However if I add a raster image and use one of the blending options it technically is no longer a vector image. I found this method on deviant art which would keep it vector. Video I wanted to know if there is another way besides live trace to add texture to a vector. I am working with CS5 free trail download.
16. I claim!!! Edit:
17. So my last project in my rendering class was to develop a character design of pretty much anything you wanted. This includes the full process of thumbnails, research/ references, sketching, and finally digitally coloring. I at first was really struggling with what to do and came up with these to final products. The only problem I had was I used my references a little to much. Links below lead to my deviant art account where you will find the final and what I used for references and background textures. Even though its really too late to fix them unlike my vector, I would still like some criticism and comments. Thanks. :catgirl: http://gothic-angel-luna.deviantart.com/art/Satu-and-Lila-163966771 http://gothic-angel-luna.deviantart.com/art/Satu-and-Lila-2-163967201
18.
It's at times like this that I wish colleges had a nap room or something. 'Cause daaaamn. Also, I need to find more excuses to use some of these smileys, like this one:
I agree. At my college some are actually going out to their cars turn on the a/c and take a nap. I wish I could do this but my car doesn't have a/c and 100 degree weather is not fun napping conditions. I just keep telling myself just two more weeks.
19.
The best way to force yourself to write anything is to plan it out with a pencil and paper. Once you've got some momentum, you can switch to a computer and finish the whole thing. It really helps if your topic is something you know about, so that finding the words isn't difficult. If you don't have that kind of prompt, then writing down ideas by hand is even more helpful. This is how I've been doing all of my papers in college, both essays and works for my creative writing class.
I agree with this. You can never go wrong with planing. I usually do one word outlines to get me started or some times a sentence outline. After this I will start the paper and finish it quickly. The longest paper I ever wrote was 8 or 9 pages for my writing 102 class a few years back. It was on the metaphors used by Edgar Allen Poe in his short story The Black Cat. What a landmine I had walked into. The essay was actually suppose to be 10 pages the least but I had trouble because to the more obscure topic. Luckly the teacher like it so much she over looked the page count and gave a high grade. Usually if it wasn't the right length it would be marked down. The problem I have and it gets me into trouble is I wait until the last minute to do projects or essays. I one of those people who does better work under pressure. I plan something out through a week or two I will get a lower grade then if I did it the night before. I think I just get lazy. :catgirl:
20. Before we worked on our vector in my rendering class we worked on self portraits. We used just the basic high quality paper with pencil. The way he had as draw these pictures seemed a bit strange to me. We took a reference photo of ourselves and printed them out. From there we traced the photo on a light box with a dark pencil (I used ebony) and then transfered the trace onto the drawing paper. The transfer is done by putting the tracing paper pencil down and pressing hard on the back with a pencil. On the paper is a light out like of the face you have traced. To me this seems like a strange concept. Not only did it help keep everything cleaner and proportional but also saved time. To me it almost seemed like cheating a bit. Have any of you used this method and if so what were your feelings on it?
21. Update: I finished the facial features and doing the visible ear. I also added a some to the shadow. The background is change to a black and silver swirls at the moment. I'm unsure if I will keep as of yet. This background does look better then some of the others I have had. I think I have pretty much finished all I can do. I think this was a good first try at a vector image. I like how its turn out even the current background. Vector
22. Update: Currently finished the hair. It looks much better now that I have added a third color. I'm currently working on the skin textures but I'm not completely sure how to go about it yet. You will see I have been experimenting a little with adding more shadows and some light colors to make some areas pop a bit. I have also not started redoing the background so its white for now. Vector
23. Thank you for the comments. I will work on it some more. I understand what you mean by the hair. I have been playing around with adding a darker color to make it less bright. The background is not set. I just did it quickly to show the light source angle and to see the hair better then a white background. As for face texture this is quite a bit there then what you see depending on the computer but its really light. I'll add some more in some areas and see if it helps any.
24. For my DAR 100 class (fundamentals of Rendering) I have been working on a vector art image. Are models were a celebrity of our choice. I had to be difficult and use Billy Idol for my model. We had the choice of using either adobe photoshop or adobe illustrator to make our vectors. I used illustrator because of the blob brush featured in illustrator 4. This is my first vector art and I did make some changes. Mostly to the skin color. In the image the backdrop made him more tan then what he was. I also included a vectorized Billy Idol logo in the background. To do the logo I used the pen tool. Some of the trouble areas were his mouth, eyes, and coloring. Comments and criticism need. If something needs to be changed or have a way to make it better please tell me before Monday. Monday is when my vector is due. Thank you. 25. I see. That explains why it seemed so different. Thank you for clearing that up for me.
