I previously started a post in the anime lounge regarding the villains of a show, asked for people to list their favorites and tell why, I've decided to do it in this forum as well, I love RPG's and some of the villains are the collest characters I've had the pleasure of playing, list your favorite villain from a video game, and tell why my favorite would probably Sephiroth, even when I was posting for anime Sephiroth came to mind as an amazing villain, although he does die, he was by far one of my favorite villains from the games I've played

I've been thinking of different anime discussions lately, and this one came to mind, people have mentioned in another post characters they like, or admire, and some hate, but this post is based on villains, the "bad guys" you always see in anime, the ones always trying anything to control or even destroy the world, whos your favorite and why? my favorite villain is probably Legato from Trigun, hes incredibly evil, but incredibly cool in my opinion, the way he can control people to do his bidding or even to kill themselves for his own perverted pleasure, a class anime villain

I'm always occupying myself insome way, but none more then actually sitting down, and reading, fiction, non-fiction, whatever, it always interests me, to see how other people's imaginations work, and how its converted into a story, whats your favorite writer? and why should we read what he/she writes?

I havn't really been impressed with any final fantasy "final" boss, I base this on 7, 8, 9, and 10, in 7, Sephiroth was somewhat of a challenge, unless you had Knights of the Round, then he died basically instantly, Auron explains the boss in 8, in 9 they basically put a bunch of small bosses together to try and weaken you for the actually final boss, but still, if you play the game well and work up regeneration its incredibly easy, I was getting half my health back each turn, in 10 Jecht and Sin were basically push over's, having all the summons and limit breaks made them incredibly easy

any suicide could be considered selfish or selfless, it depends on the POV you take on the situation, most people do believe that suicide is for the persons benefit and no one elses, and it usually is, life gets to hard and they give up, but some people's suicides contribute to a greater cause without even knowing, now this isn't quite "selfless" since its not happening on purpose, but like I said before, suicide, or the death of someone close to you, often brings people together, it teaches them not to take things for granted, and to love the people in their lives, even if you see them everyday, I don't believe that someone would kill themselves for this sole purpose, but when options are limited, it just seems to be the way to go

Strangest song you've ever gotten stuck in your head
Kamuro replied to ChibiHorsewoman's topic in Noosphere
lol O-Ren, thanks to Rurouni Kenshin for that incredibly awesome Freckles :p , I think the weirdest song I've gotten stuck in my head is that barbie girl song *confused* I just woke up and it was randomly playing in my head...unfortunently -
people definitely shouldn't have to defend themselves for watching something like cartoon network, I love to watch shows like family guy and south park, they're funny, so who cares if its a cartoon? and even if the cartoon is directed towards adults or an older age group, whats wrong with having some fun once in awhile and watching some cartoons? the world is serious enough already, and without a little laughter, people would go crazy

well, I havn't really heard the bands you've listed lol, besides deftones and Poison the Well, I'm not a big fan of deftones, but poison the well is definitely good, you come before you and the opposite of december are some of my favorite cd's

ahh auron, you always come up with the best posts lol, although it wasn't extremely hard, an enormous accomplisment for me was the complete and total completion of Suikoden III, when I first got the game I played through, for 30 hours or so, but I realizewd I was missing some characters, items, etc., so I went through again, and got EVERYTHING, all 108 characters, the medal sets, old books, seeds, everything, even played through the bonus chapter with Luc and Koroku's chapter, the end was averagely hard, but it was still a big accomplishment

I'm sure japanese game's have some kind of import export site you could buy from, I guess it depends on the game, I've only bought a few things out of country, and its definitely expensive, I don't think I've been let down yet though, just make sure to read reviews, walkthroughs, etc. of the game to make sure its something your interested before you actually go through the process of buying it, it just takes awhile to find the right provider

*endorses site mentioned above* welcome

well, call me "crazy" but I think we're reading to much into this? lol its a toy, children are young, and impressionable, but are they really influenced by a toy? because of the clothes, the hair, or the shape of the plastic body? whether barbie was in the childs hands or not, that kind of thinking is everywhere, perfect people, with perfect things, living the perfect life, if they hadn't learned it from barbie they would have from britney spears or jessica simpson or something, which is incredibly sad, #1-because both of them put together is still an IQ less then barbie and #2-life shouldn't be based on material things, or how people look, guess thats just the way it is

Name: Sam Amisharifi Age: 25 Appearance: Stands 5'9, a slim but muscular man. He has tan skin and long black hair. His eyes are often over-shadowed by his hair, giving him a somewhat mysterious look. He has a scar across his face and carries an enormous broad sword over his shoulder. Bio/Past: Sam Amisharifi, looked up to by many, due to his position as the Iranian King, however, his abilities reach far beyond his role as king. When he was a child, the kingdom of Iran was attacked, his father and mother, the king and queen, were captured and killed by stealth assassins from an enemy kingdom. Although he was only a child, he was the heir to the thrown, but the kingdom was not going to be ruled by a child by any means. After a discussion with the lords of the kingdom, Sam was named prince, rather then king. And his fathers Advisor, Malcolm, would obtain control of the kingdom. Malcolm was known for his skill with the sword and as Sam grew Malcolm taught him, everything he knew, strategies, weapon skills, stealth, and for years Sam became Malcolm's "right-hand man." But as Malcolm grew older, his ambitions changed, he became a dictator, and treated his people with disrespect. Even Sam often got on his bad side and ended up spending time in his personal torture chamber. For hours he would be chained, and beaten. The shine in his eyes, and his aspiration for the throne had changed, to an uncontrolable madness. One day while he was being beaten, a guard missed his chest, and cracked the whip across his face creating a huge gash over his nose. His face was bloodied, and this, was the final nail in his coffin, or should I say, Malcolms. He broke from his chains and surprised his torturer, with a swift move his neck was broken and Sam was free. He looked about the chamber but there was no armor or weapons to protect him, as he was searching, he tore a tapestry from the wall, and found a hidden door. He was quite surprised considering he knew all the in's and out's of his castle, even so he opened the door, and inside, laying on a table, was an enormous broad sword. He walked closer and noticed the words engraved up the middle of the blade "death awaits you" carved from the handle to the center of the blade. He realized at once that this was his fathers former sword. He picked up the sword and threw it over his shoulder, and their it rested, until he reached Malcolms chambers. Malcolm was staring out a window in the room, most likely contemplating his next political move. Sam was swift as he walked into the room, his footsteps unheard. He seemed to blend with the shadows and was almost impossible to see or hear as he walked from the door to Malcolm, and as he stood behind Malcolm, just a foot away from the man who endlessy tortured him, as well as raised him, he spoke only three words "death awaits you" before Malcolm could even turn his head, it was no longer attached to his body. The lifeless body fell to the floor. Sam walked from the room with the head in his hands, his face bloodied from his previous scar. The lords of the castle stared as he dropped the head to the floor. Silence had never been so loud, and as Sam spoke, and reclaimed his title as ruler of the castle, no one dared to object. Sam's words now reigned supreme in the kingdom of Iran. Personality: Sam was once a very out-going and ambitious boy, but as time went on and things changed (as you've read above) he became quiet. He only speaks when he has too, and often uses awkward silences to contemplate his situation. Fast forward... It has been a few years since Sam took back his kingdom from his father's Adviser. Although things have been well for the most part, Sam is having trouble consorting with other kingdoms. He prefers to be outcast kingdom, rather then a central power. Although his castle's Lords advise him to negotiate a treaty, he refuses. He is the ruler of the kingdom, but unfortunently he is the only who feels this way, and his position in society isn't enough to save him. His people rebel, swords are unsheathed and torches lit. He castle is taken, and in the very same room where Malcolm was killed, he stands. He refuses to attack and kill his own people, so he is exiled from his own kingdom. Standing outside the kingdom's gates, he begins to walk, to where? He isn't really sure... END

I definitely agree with the thoughts on his weird actions in court, I think people suspect him and actually believe these kids because of the kind of person micheal jackson is, coming to court in pajamas, always being late, unorganized, his lifestyle of bringing other people's children to his home, and asking them to stay the night? If micheal jackson was a normal person, I don't think anyone would be believe these children, cause your right, their story has changed, and fraud has already been admitted considering other cases, conclusion is, its his own damn fault, for god sakes, its not "ignorant" to be against children sleeping with him, its obvious, even if he didn't do it, I'm tired of hearing him whine about being accused and how obsurd it is, step back and take a look at yourself and see just how obsurd it really is, retard...

I've been looking forward to this game, but that doesn't really say much, I was looking forward to Halo 2, and that was basically a let down, hopefully this one will be better, I'm definitely a fan of the Doom series though, so even if it wasn't all that great, I'd probably buy it anyway lol
-
hah, I wasn't even thinking of .hack, but I can definitely see where your coming from, it is a good battle system, I guess its just my preference, the battle systems of games like .hack and star ocean, rather then final fantasy
-
I agree, pro-longing her suffering is also pro-longing the suffering of those around her, and its sad that it has become so public, when its such a private matter :animestun

*agrees with dagger* 30 minutes just isn't enough is it?
-
FFX is getting a lot of praise, but I really didn't think the battle system was all that great, it had basically the same elements as the other final fantasys besides the option to switch out chracters, which was definitely a good idea, but other then that, I wasn't a big fan of the sphere grid, which directly influenced your performance in battle, if we're going to endorse a FF game, then it should definitely be 7, combat was easy, quick, and materia made it easier to equip attributes and skills and either wanted, or didn't want, final fantasy is definitely the classic rpg battle system that people always look at when creating a game

Well, I've been a fan of metal for quite awhile, from old school like slayer to new school, I know I have my favorite bands, but I was looking for other peoples, to "broaden my horizon" a bit, listen to new bands, and new sounds that you don't quite see everyday, my current top 5 is... 1. Atreyu-Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses is definitely one of my favorite cd's of all time, although The Curse had better recording, and a new sound, I don't think it even comes close to the first cd 2. It Dies Today-I heard some of their earlier stuff from Forever Scourned and wasn't entirely impressed. I thought they were good but nothing special. Then I heard The Caitiff Choir and wow, I love the cd. Its definitely worth a listen. 3. Underoath-Although I'm not much for the "Christian" music genre, I can't help but listen to Underoath. The mention of jesus in a song or two is well worth the other 90% of the cd's. 4. Killswitch Engage-What can I say? I think KSE has always been solid. Alive Or Just Breathing (their older cd) was extremely good, as was The End of Heartache. 5. Norma Jean-This is quite the band, if you like metal, or hardcore, then you'll definitely want to check them out. Their first was awesome, and O' God the Aftermath is just as good. Although I havn't heard one song that compares to "Memphis Will Be Laid to Waste" :D

I agree with Lunai on this one, I've played FF9 a bunch of times, and the ending does kind of suck, although it is a happy ending, and I fell in love with the story, especially after 4 disks of play, and it was a bit disappointing
-
yes, I would much rather watch YYH re-runs then zatch bell :animestun
-
my bad, I'm not very forum educated so PMing is a mystery to me :animeshy: but as for monster, if it has your endorsement I'll definitely have to check it out

I havn't been following the case very closely either, but, its hard to avoid it, everytime you turn on the TV you see her face, and I really think its terrible, if they're going to take her feeding tube out, and starve her, I don't understand why they don't just give her lethal injection, or some other method, I know its an ethics issue, but if shes going to die is all the suffering really needed? anyway, if it was my choice, to let her live or die, which its not (the whole point I made in the paragraph above), I would choose for her to die, I seem to always put myself in the persons position, seeing things from different points of view often makes the picture clearer, and if I was suffering, and dying, I would much rather die, then have the people closest to me, who I love the most, argue and fight over my life, which was never their's in the first place
-
I do believe that some people deserve to die for things they've done, but thats the exact point I'm going to contradict right now, who actually gets to decide whether someone should live or die? if you did something wrong, would you really want your life to be in the hands of our government?
