1. Well I searched for an active Tool thread and I found a really old thread(like 5 years old) and that's it. So I decided I would make a new thread covering all 3 bands led by Maynard James Keenan. Here are some quick synopsises borrowed by wikipedia(beacuse I'm lazy...)
Tool is an American rock band, formed during 1990 in Los Angeles, California, that consists of drummer Danny Carey, bassist Justin Chancellor, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Emerging with a heavy metal sound on their first release, when the genre was dominated by thrash metal, they were later seen at the top of the alternative metal movement with the release of their second full-length studio album Ænima in 1996. After an ongoing evolution of their sound and continuous efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution on Lateralus (2001), their most recent album 10,000 Days (2006), as well as respective tours, they are generally described as a style-transgressing act and part of progressive and art rock. Relatively long and complex releases, controversial song lyrics and cover art, and their unorthodox music videos resulted in a rather ambivalent relationship between the band and today's music industry,[1] at times marked by censorship, and the bandmembers' insistence on privacy.[2] Nevertheless, Tool receives critical acclaim, has won Grammy Awards, performs worldwide tours, and produces albums that top the charts in several countries.[3] Between album releases, the band takes extended breaks that allow for collaboration with other artists to design award-winning album packaging, elaborate light shows and involvement in notable side-projects. Tool has done live collaborations with artists such as Serj Tankian of System of a Down and Kirk Hammet of Metallica.

A Perfect Circle (often referred to as APC) was an alternative rock supergroup, formed by guitarist Billy Howerdel. Howerdel had worked as a guitar tech for bands such as Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fishbone and Tool. He played demos of his music to Tool's singer, Maynard James Keenan, who offered himself as vocalist should Howerdel ever form a band. Howerdel was initially hesitant about this as he originally wanted a female vocalist, but eventually agreed and A Perfect Circle was formed in 1999. To distinguish himself from his persona with Tool, Keenan wore long wigs on his otherwise bald scalp for all of A Perfect Circle's music videos, photo shoots and live performances. Maynard, when asked at a news conference, stated that the name " A Perfect Circle" originates from the friendships of the band members, all of them met one another in a way resembling "a perfect circle of friendship." The band's latest line-up featured Jeordie White (formerly of Marilyn Manson) on bass, James Iha (formerly of Smashing Pumpkins) on guitar, and prolific session drummer Josh Freese.

Puscifer (IPA: [ˈpusəfɚ][1']) is a side project of Maynard James Keenan from Tool and A Perfect Circle. Only two songs and one remix have been released to date, all on film soundtracks.
Now I think all of these groups led by Maynard James Keenan ARE AMAZING. I personally don't think there has been anything close to touching what these people have done musically. They also have made some of the best music videos period. So what do you guys think? Do you like any of these bands? Have you even heard of them?
 2.
Synopsis In the year 199X, a strange wind blows across the globe, and in its wake follows a total, complete amnesia where the everyone forgets who they are, how to speak...everything. The vast technological advances of modern society go to waste as humans are suddenly reduced to the level of animals, fighting their once-neighbors to survive. Two years later, a young man named Wataru, who was miraculously re-educated from his amnesia, roams the countryside of America in search of survivors, evidence of developing civilization -- in short, the essence of what truly drives humanity. Accompanied by a mysterious woman who also somehow retains her memory, Wataru must find out the truth of who we really are...and what was behind the mysterious forgetting.
I borrowed this synopsis from THEM anime reviews. http://www.themanime.org/viewreview.php?id=477 I think this is a classic anime that not many people know about. The basic storyline is very creative. I have never found another one like it to date. It really drills into what people can turn into given the right circumstances and how people have a very powerful will to survive. The music and voice acting was top notch(although I personally think any dub that isn't bad is good...). The characters were very interesting and you can relate to them more often than not. Overall I thought this was a great anime. So have any of you guys seen this? What do you think about it? After reading this post would you go and watch it?
 3. I like hardcore action stuff. Higlander,Ninja Scroll ect... I like it because it is more visceral than other genres. I also enjoy romance and shojo a great deal as well. I like watching relationships develop and things like that. Also sci fi movies like nausica and A wind Named Amnesia are great.
 4.
The dub in the earlier episodes isn't up to par, unfortunately (and some would say that it never gets particularly good).
I thought it was pretty good. Fitting for the series in my opinion.
 5. Lol my dad got me into anime. He used to buy me pokemon VHSes and he let me watch spawn with him and some of my friends. Then when I was a bit older I borrowed Ninja Scroll from him. My mom really never gave a damn either way.
 6. Yea nobody ever really bothered me. I always saw anime as as just a hobby I liked to do on the side. So since I wasn't like "ZOMG DID you jus see the new*insert anime name here* !" all the time. I was real chill about it. The only time I ever had my comics taken was in 8th grade during a field trip. And that teacher was a jerk. I have gone to private christian schools all my life. I was never bothered. I think the worst comment I EVER had was by a friend of mine who said it was "weird." And I am sure y'all will agree with me that there is some weird **** out there... So no I have never been isolated because of my hobby. If I did become Isolated I would drop my hobby.
 7. Scooby Doo I saw this when I was like 4 years old. I could never figure out who actually did the crime till the end. It also made me laugh alot. Thats why I love it so much.
 8. In the second season of digimon there was matt who was in a a band. It shows him playing the guitar a few times throughout the series. Also in cromartie high school there is at least one reference to some sort of guitar oriented band in each episode along with the covers of the dvds. Besides that it has awesome riffs in the starting menu!
 9. Ive seen about half so far. The voice actors were the first thing I noticed of course. They are splendid! The animation is also very good as is the artwork. The actual story looked kinda lame at first. Then as I watched more it got INREDIBLY sweet! The characters have great personalities and have good interactions. Also fool is uber funny! I can't wait to watch more!
 10.
That would be a very interesting anime to watch or even a manga to read. It would seem that it would have the twists that Paranoia Agent has....or the strange-ness of Serial Experiment L.A.I.N., even Boogiepop Phantom. Love the idea.....it's inspiring. ~ا~
Ironically that was the anime I watched just after I thought of the idea(referring to boogipop phantom). The dating sim episode gave me a lot to help with the storyline(of which I am still brainstorming)
 11. It's a romance with a dark theme. Ok there is a boy. He falls in love with a girl. He get's rejected. In his depression he listens to loud depressing metal and grunge music. Eventually his anguish creates a new love for him fueled by his own pain(who may or may not exist). Though he loves his new "girlfreind" he sometimes wonders if she is real or a mirage in his desert of agony and pain. Of course after he was rejected he is torn apart at school known as a loser. People screw with him by saying she really does love him but he just has to show his affection in different quite embarrasing ways. In order not to look phychotic to people who surround him he follows these peoples little games and becomes a tool to his own peers only to defend his girlfreind who amy or not be real.
 12. Ive seen this a while ago. It had a really wacky sense of humor. It kinda reminded of azu manga daioh mixed with excel saga. But it had a story. Then it had a beautiful romance plus lots of motherly love. I really love this one.
 13. Well I have a handy little list to put these all in an organized form! No particular order here. 1. In Saber marionette J-X
at the end where everyone was turned into little kids!
I never would have thought of such a clever ending 2. In Haibanei Renmei
When Rakkas wings grow in eeew. Never see nsuch a nastty gruesome thing like that in an anime that wasn't just about being gory.
3. In Arjuna when
her boyfriend and his dad are arguing. Never seen such a well done scene in my entire life.
14. I think there should be a whole anime channel. Like G4 sorta like it reviews anime, goes into anime culture, goes to cons and coplay gatherings and of course playes anime shows. Woudln't that be grand?
 15. I have a new #3 fav. Hand Maid May It had a very good storyline and awesome plot twists.
Like when you see big may for the very first time and you find out that that robot guy was the lead characters dad.
I also like the fact that it had a semi gospel esque ending to it.
 16.
You obviously missed it in my post then. ^^ I mentioned Digimon, and I agree with you, it was so awesome! And everybody thought it ripped off Pokemon... How terrible. :animedepr I LOVED that show.
Hey your right my bad. And yes it is terrible. Im glad I have another person that agrees.
 17. GASP no one has mentioned digimon even once!!!!!! That was dot.//hack before it even existed. Honestly I think that anime was better than most mainstream stuff now(fma,flcl,inuyasha,ect...). This is probably the only series I miss. I still watch it sometimes and I always play the game. I sorta miss pokemon and such but non of those anime's really had the amount of depth digimon did and i'm upset it is now thought of as a series that ripped of pokemon. Now they have pretty much sold out and beame the image that people have tried to give it which is even more sad. Sigh good bye digimon. :animecry:
 18. Well im going to use more than 5 but i will group them with importance. 1.(7) Things I cried about! And changed slightly for Chobits-made me fall in love with anime again. Also this hada plot that makes you think alot if you concentrate. Mahoromatic maiden- Sick animation style, catchy music, and excellent story that damn near changed my thought process. Kare Kano-Unique love story with suprisingly good animation and cool ideas. It focuses on both peopel equally with is very cool to me. Saber Marionette J- Well this would be honerable mention if it wasn't fro ozzy ousborne. I was at a time in my life where a certain song fro mhim and this anime made me rethink some things. So I selected thsi one purely out of respect for what it did for me. Berserk-EXCELLENT music, beautiful animation, action packed, gory, very human emotion, great idea for the story, and last but not least gutsu is badass. Please Teacher!- Awsome story. Made losers look cool. Actually had someone have to get hurt at the end. Please Twins-NAKED GIRLS IN THE BATH WOOT! Oh and great story and even though it had bordered on inscest the love scenes were very well done. 2.(3) Haibanei Renmei-Cool animation, cute cahracters, and a very depressing story near the end. I also loved the relationships between the characters. Boys over Flowers-Made me feel liek a woman for a whole week(the week after I watched it :p ). Solid story suprisingly human emotion makethis a winner. Dnangel-Rikku is so cute!!!! Also the end of the anime made it a winner 3.(4) Ninja scroll-Made me watch anime for real this time! Also made me realize that titties were allowed in R rated movies. R.O.D- A year ago this would be no.1 but with time it has lsot it's thunder for me a bit. It still has an excellent story, intense violence, and Suprised the crap out of me near the end. Pokemon- Some hate it many love it. The reason why I watch friggin tv,play video games, and talk to strangers. Lovable characters, cool animations(foe me when I was 7) and very intersting for a youngster. Ranma 1/2-MAde me get a boner for the first few seasons, and made me cry when it was over. I loved those characters like real peopel for a while. 4.(1) 1. Edens bowy-It makes me happy. Also the story is top of the line. 5.(2) Ai Yori aioshi-Finally a non loser protaganist! Thank jesus! Chrono Crusade-made me sad enough to almost stop watching anime. But it was worth it.
 19. GET OUT OF MY ****ING HOUSE! NOW Chi from chobits- I hate kids...So why would I like this one? Because she is a robot? Hell no. Sasuke- To much emo for my blood+ I don't think im allowed to kill naruto fanboys. Asaba from kare kano-I don't need that **** at 5:00 am in the morning "Hello lover!" Miki from marmalade boy- I will get an aneurysm within minutes due to her indecisiveness Reki-haibane renmei-I can't live with smokers Rent is due tuesday Mahoro- She cooks cleans and gives you naked backrubs...and all my porn is on my computer. Akane from ranma 1/2- I need a body guard :animesmil That ninja guy with the shadow thing from ninja scroll- I bet he can get groceries awefully quick. Nancy-She is dead gorgeous and always wears clothes 6 times too small. Thats all.
 20. People tell me I look like satan from southpark...yea. But besides him I think I look like tsukasa from boys over flowers. I have unstraitenable curly hair and im really tall just like him.
 21. Well I personally love pokemon. It was the very first semi anime show I have ever seen and it is what got me hooked in the first place. Also the games got me hooked on rpg's. I?m glad that they continue to make more and more of it so that the younger generations can enjoy it as well. In the future maybe that is how I will get my own son to like the same thing his daddy does. I mean really if pokemon stopped making new stuff no one would ever see the old stuff and it would just get pushed under the shelf and would never get thought of again.
 22. Well this is one of my favorite romance amine?s out there. I heard someone say it was part of the royal three (boys over flowers, marmalade boy, and kare Kano) romance amine?s. I don't know what that really means but regardless this anime was awesome. Tsugushi was kind of a ditz and was annoying throughout the series but that made her lovable. The guy's were not *** holes like most of the rich people around them. The story was really solid and you have trouble guessing what happens next. This is really a must have for an avid romance anime fan. But there are some pretty adult thing's that happen in this anime and is very violent at times. So it's not for the youngsters.
 23.
Nope, it was actually number 4. I'm going to guess #3. It's because you don't have to make yourself look smart, you are smart. ^L^ Ok, another 4. 1. I have a vaio laptop 2. I drink energy drinks 3. I'm afraid of falling 4. The previous 3 statements are all true. ^L^ Later.
Wrong it is no.1 I hate noir bleh. No.4 beacuse like the last one this is a paradox(maybe).
 24.
How can anybody in their sane mind not like futurama?!!?!?! So my guess is the diarhea thing... Ok, here's my four: 1. I rock out hard with my guitar most every day. 2. My pet cat's name is "Easy" 3. I value reason and logic above all in most situations...but not all. 4. One of the previous 3 things about myself is false. ^L^ Later.
No 3 beacuse I think you quoted an emo goth band. Well ok then. 1. I like Nior. 2. I Love cypress hill. 3. I hate people who try to look smart even though I do it constantly. 4. I hate making my post quality decent. Knock yourself out.
 25. I almost beat the first game a while ago. Then I stopped playing due to my fascination with the new xboxy rpg's. Now I can't get into anime like games anymore. Sad really. Is the second one really worth the money? Or does it continually go down hill like .//Hack did?
