System of a Down and the Gorilllaz-Mushroom cult Thye have reinvented la la la...the simplest thing in music they reinvented. That is just plain insane. Plus it has hittin guitar and killer vocals overall.
Guild Wars I don't even consider a character I've created to be well established until I've clocked about 50 hours on them, so that should tell you something right there. In total I have about 3,500 hours of play time and I expect it to pass 4,000 by the time I'm done playing the new expansion that comes out this Friday.
Wow! Really? How many sets of Fow do you have?

Wow no one mentioned Z.O.E 2 yet? For shame! That is probably not only the best anime game ever created but the best mecha game ever created. The graphics hold their own against oblivion and other overclocked games. Completely awesome battle system which a few people have ripped off... The story is good if you buy both games and understand it. The music is AMAZING. It fits very well and sounds great. So basically buy this game...

In real life some how I always get stuck with the nickname of "Run away!" Perhaps it's my bad grammar?

I use facial stuff for acne and I am pretty particular about that. I like using the axe soap because it actually makes you feel clean. I use head and shoulders for dandruff and general good haircare. That's all I need.

Lets see... Ogre Battle 64 Ive clocked over 300 hours in this game. I have unlocked everything except for Biske so far. I keep playing this game because it's just so darn good. The storyline is STIL engrossing each time I play through it. There are so many options and choices you can make that influence the story. There are SO many different classes. This game is massive by todays standards (not to mention back then). Basically it's epic. Guild Wars Over 1000 hours. It's an mmorpgs...cmon now. Of course I have a lot of time put into it. This game unlike other games of the same genre it's not p2p. Which by itself makes it pretty ballsy. Most of these types of games fail...horribly. But this game is good enough to bring in a good diverse crowd of people. I am actually pretty decent. I can make a couple hundred k in a week. I can also do decent pvp work.

I watched this movie with my mum. I basically keep watching these because of the hot European girls they keep bringing in(The new Irish girl is my new favorite character...yes indeed). As far as the actual plot went I thought it was ok. I mean it was better than the one before it in my opinion.
The persecution of the children actually trying to learn by the government was a pretty cool.
It was a pretty good metaphor for what it's like today. The only thing I didn't like was how long it was. I mean people sorta started to ramble and they had a few scenes that seemed pretty pointless. Overall I got what I wanted. Hot Irish and English chick screentime and half decent storyflow.

N64 My favorite. The graphics might be dated but there are a lot of EPIC games on this little cartridge using system. Ogre battle 64(best rts for any console by far),Aidyn Chronicles(which is kotor before kotor was kotor), and Zelda(one of the best adventure games period) to name a few. The controller is really good for the games it has and the console takes up very little space. Gamecube This console is one of my least favorite. The reason I haven't sold it is because of Resident Evil 4. This game is the only reason why I even bother to keep this. But the game itself is epic...best Horror game period. Great graphics great story great action great fun! the controller is kinda shoddy but it takes up almost no space. Playstation 2 Well this game has had quite a few epic games. Some ones I should mention are Devil May Cry, Grand Theft Auto, and Final Fantasy 10 (12 isn't so epic...). These game have over 100 hours clocked in each from me. The controller is nice and it takes up a medium amount of room. Xbox At first I thought this console would fail. Clunky controller and huge heavy system. Luckily they replaced the crap controller with a decent one and added Halo...the rest is history. Kotor, fable, and Halo 2 are some honorable mention games. Xbox 360 Just recently coming out of it's childhood. It is now a full fledged competitive console. Good design very attractive GREAT controller still takes a lot of space. Some Epic games that have came out for it are Oblivion(possibly the best console rpg ever), Gears of war(possibly best 3rd person shooter ever), The darkness(wow this was innovative). DS Lite Good sleek design. Very light. Good battery life. Good games(castlvania, pokemon, advanced wars). PSP Ok looks good but a terrrible gaming device. It's a expensive pda if that. Oh yea... I might pick up a Ps3 if it ever goes for a reasonable price. Finial fantasy 13,dmc 4 and Metal gear solid look great. But as is it now it ain't worth it AT ALL. Its basically a cheap blu ray player which I don't want or need.

Yea well Evangalion was my first and favorite mecha for a long time. I never liked the ending but the rest of the series was good enough to balance that out. Until quite recently it has stayed my favorite anime until Z.O.E came along and popped it off the top with it's cute robot lead and awesome animation and story.

Najica Blitz tactics 2-12 Someone buy these women some pants please... Seriously this has more fan service than anything I've seen. But besides the horrendous over usage of fan service it does have a good story with good characters and a good plot. I especially like Najica. Shes like the female anime James bond!
All of my favorites, like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Paradise Kiss and Princess Mononoke use more realistic designs, which I find much more interesting and are much harder to pull off, especially on a limited budget that most tv anime has to work with.
I didn't find any of those to be very realistic. When I think realistic I think of something like My beautiful girl Mari or Perfect Blue. The characters have wrinkles in their face the and all the peoples bodies are different they arent all just perfect. That seems more realistic to me.
So to all you out there, what is your favorite anime?
My favorite anime as of today is Metropolis. It has a very interesting storyline and digs into the subject of "what makes us human?" It dug into the concept more than any other anime I have seen. Also It dealt with the loss of innocence and how the "yuppies" are controlling the lower class. It's a masterpiece really.
What kinds of genres do you look for when you search for new anime?
As of right now I am into really hardcore action. usually with gruesome death scenes and unhappy endings. I just got off of a shoujo binge though.
In any animes you may have seen, do you like anyone from it specifically?
Kino from Kino's journey. She is a bright girl. Also the creators use her to bring forth problems in toady's world and show you a bit of philosophy.
Anyone you wish was real?
To me that seems like the fantasies of a younger person or a child if you will. There's nothing wrong with being a child but I am not one so it is difficult for me to think in that mindset.
Some people say that i'm an inu-tard, but i'm only being passionate about what I love! My mom says that i'm going overboard with the anime... and I say NO!
A bit of advice. You might wanna listen to them and not write them off as "funkillers." If you go through life ignoring others advice life will be very painful.
How many of you have parents who are afraid you base your whole life on anime, or think its a horible kind of show? I know I do...
Not me. My parents worry about other more pressing matters. Then again I am not a rabid fan boy or anything so they have no reason.
I decided to mimic you. Now... I was pretty sure I hadn't done any acid since last night, but now I'm starting to wonder. Either I am trippin balls or I just watched the first episode of petite cossette. Either way, I want some more! Ah, Shinbo, you never let me down, and neer cease to amaze me. And seeing as how this show is so short, it shouldn't be hard to collect either. I know Geneon's releasing it, but I don't know how much is out...
Wait so the 111 minute OVA wasn't alll there is?(by the way I ended up skipping it in favor of a guild wars all nighter)
Vampire Hunter D was a novel before it was an anime - in fact, the first novel was written in, like, the late eithies. Currently there are 17 or 18 novels I believe... all are pretty long too >_> As for the .hack novels... well, I've got the 2 A.I. Buster volumes. It's basically the same frikkin story seen over and over in everything else .hack, which was annoying, though not terrible. The second book was pretty pointless. I only have the first of the Another Birth volumes, not only because I've only played the first game (and am not far) but because I hate the writing style. If you don't know the game itself, it's hard to know what's going on...
I figured as much. It's still related to anime though. The book explained a lot to me that I didn't understand in the actual anime. I am about to watch petite Cosette tonight! I am psyched!
Perfect Blue was confusing in an illogical way - it was trippy just for the sake of being trippy, and that's what I hate about it. Boogiepop does everything in a way relating to the plot, and really isn't confusing at all - I can never undersand why people say it is. Probably just the vignette style... The first D movie is based on the first book, Bloodlust is based on the third. The first one was fine enough (I have a review of it on theO i you'd like to check it out) but te second was unbarable. I'd easily rank it the stupidest trash I've ever read.
According to some fans of Perfect Blue the whole movie is a metaphor for how stars are treated. Which was not a topic I care much about. So it was meh for me. I usually don't read anime related books. I have made an exception for .hack and that's it...those books are awesome by the way. I personally think the best Miyazaki film was Castle Of castigliostro and that movie isn't better than some other epic anime movies.
-
I fail even remotely to see how boogiepop was influenced by that movie. You say it like all suspenseful horror is influenced by Perfect Blue or some crap... Boogiepop was the sequel to the novel Boogiepop and Others, and a prequel to the second/third book. If it was influenced b anything, it would be the novels.
I could see it in the way it was paced. I should probably elaborate...The way the show reveals things to you. It is very similar to boogipop...at least to me it was. I dunno maybe I just think everything that is difficult to understand is the same. Whatever.
Guess I should expect misconceptions, though from someone who thinks Miyazaki is overrated :p
Not a misconception just a difference in opinion. I still think Miyazaki movies are good but not as good as some people claim they are.
Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust was a pretty sweet movie though. The world of D is so massive and full of so many creatures, which is cool. I might still be reading it if the second novel weren't so incredibly godawful that I couldn't stomach it.
I never read any of the novels. All I know is that the movies were both good.

Perfect Blue Well to start I didn't like this anime very much. I mean it was OK but wasn't worth all the hype it got. Now for someone who really like this sorta thing it would be amazing for them. I speak of course of the hardcore drama/suspense fan. This would make them pee themselves in glee. I could see how boogipop was influenced by this film which was neat. Vampire Hunter D The story was rather weak but the plot twists were OK. Also the characters were pretty unique. The action was OK not quite as good as I hoped it would be though. Overall it was a good action anime but not as good as... Vampire hunter D:Bloodlust WOW! This anime was amazing. The quality of the animation and the art style was above that of even a miyazaki flick.(Although those are generally overrated...).The story was lightyears ahead of the original. The only thing that wasn't improved was the Dub. But it was still a good dub.

Yea we don't need a giant page stretching list from me. I usually buy boxsets or all the singles at once. I don't dabble I go all the way...basically.Some of my favorites are Kare Kano(although my copy is a bootleg copy it is still fairly high quality),Akira and Read or Die. Kare Kano is my favorite romance. It has that warm feeling about it and the character development is top notch. Akira is a classic. If you don't know about Akira then you must be very new to anime. It is a psychological action series...sorta. It's really hard to explain what it's like. All I know is that it is amazing. Read or Die is a story about three sisters and a famous author. It shows their life and their situations. It also reveals how they are connected. I will elaborate even more on this later...my eye is really ****** up right now so it's hard.

Anime Not Quite Your Favorite, But Still Great!
Panache replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Hmm aight Neon Genesis Evangalion-Well mecha isn't my favorite genre. Also this isn't my favorite mecha. But I have to give it props. It had really great fight scenes an a very well made story. It also had pretty good(if whiny) characters. I could sorta kinda understand all of their reactions. It would be in my top 20 if it wasn't for the ending. Nuff said about that. Happy Lesson-This is what Love hina should have been like in my opinion. Jokes that were actually funny. Characters that developed. Events I could actually care about. It had a lot of sillyness but it had a lot of heart too. What keeps it from being the best is it's length. It was fairly short and could have been twice as long. -
I like the tribe.(A tribe Called Quest)They have really smooth voices and let the lyrics flow out really effortlessly. Then There is Del the Funky homosapien. He is pretty amazing. He raps about all kinds of stuff. Then there is Common and Talib and Mos...They are all geniuses. Their lyrics are pretty good. They also get great beats. Then there is Arrested Development...who basically threw a wrench in what I thought hip hop was. They rap about homeless people and actually seem like they care about the world...amazing. Then there is Kanye who is probably one of the most unique mainstream rappers out there. Believe it or not I find it more difficult to dance to rap. Actually I find it difficult to dance to anything but metal...cuz when I dance to metal all I do is act crazy and have lots of fun.

Anime Even I'd Like Some Reccommendations!
Panache replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Oi, I'm halfway through Haibane Renmei and just trying to find the next DVD (will prolly have to buy online). Amazing series - like I said, I'm an ABe fanboy. I think I've heard of Eden's Bowy, but lol at Soul Hunter... show I file under 'awesomely bad' (or at least the dub, which apparently is an entirely diferent story?)
Well I liked Soul hunter but the part of Soul hunter that Edens Bowy has in common is not the part people usually complain about. Oh and I am of the opinion ANY dub is better than a sub. Unless the dub is in engrish or something. You should definitely give Edens Bowy a try. It also has some Elfen Lied like properties (although I hate to admit it). The way it deals with tragedy n such. Oh yea this is off topic but I scorn anyone who has ever recommended Elfen Lied to me...*scorns*. I hate it sooooo much... -

Heres two more. Haibanei Renmei 13 episodes Right basically this is a slice of life...at first. Then alter on it gets pretty deep into emotions and things like that. Almost a journey of sorts. Lot's of philosophy in this anime. Edens Bowy 26 episodes Right so this is what you get when you combine El Hazard Soul hunter and Kino's Journey. It has by far the most colorful cast of characters EVER. It gets really deep into philosophy too. -
Anime Even I'd Like Some Reccommendations!
Panache replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Otaku Central
Hmm well you said you wouldn't take my recommendations very seriously but I think I will give some of them anyway. Kurogane communication 24 episodes It's a post apocalyptic slice o life series. Yes you heard me. It shows the life of the last know living girl on earth and her robot companions. Arjuna 13 episodes I really don't know what genre to put this in. It has a bit of action a bit of drama a bit of romance and it really makes you think. It's about a girl who dies but gets a second life to save the world. It may sound generic but she is saving the world from itself. People pollute the environment and are angering the worlds spirit. I don't think I can say more without spoiling it.
