OKay so here's my update. I'm sitting here right now higher than a kite because they put me on some massive pain killers (codine and such). I'm to stay on them all until January 9th, when I get all four wisdom teeth surgically removed. Fun times! I'm glad I'm going to be rid of these beasts!

Well...I'm getting ready to graduate college...I can't believe I've been there 4 years...gah. Anyways, the advice I can offer you is to be EARLY with everything. The earlier you get stuff in, the more funding there is to go around. That's the way most school's work. Also, don't leave out any activities you've been involved in when applying for scholarships. I got a full ride to Ohio University because I was involved in a lot of extra curricular stuff like band, choir, drama, 4-H, church youth group, ect ect. Remember, you're basically selling yourself to the college you're applying to. Good luck :)
Originally posted by KnightOfTheRose Mine were so impacted they had to drill them in half before yanking them. And I had no gas. Just a couple needles of novacaine that wasn't quite enough. When they drilled, I screamed. Anyway, I've never even heard of something like that happening. And I'm rather shocked to know that you waited as long as you did. How could you not have known something was wrong? Teeth aren't supposed to grow sideways. I'm sorry, but that just dumbfounds me.
They only just came in...I'm late =/ My mom's did the same thing though...weird. I have to be put under and have them cut out. fun fun.

My mouth has been hurting for a long time now. I thought it was just normal from my wisdom teeth comming in. Turns out that they came in, and then the gums grew back over them on the bottom two. However the top two came in completely sideways and they've gashed my jaw open. Mom took one look at it and gasped at this hole in the side of my mouth. =/ I go Monday to find out how many teeth they're going to cut out. Have any of you gone through anything like this? ~~~my first post in OB lounge since my return :p ~~~

I think I'm going to be doing my dream job! I graduate college in about a year, and then I'm going to go to school to be a railroad conductor. You all know how I love trains...and I'll be making good money for sure. So it'll be great! I'd also like to be a singer. I love performing in the band I'm already in...it's just not as professional as I'd like.

In one of my classes in school, the professor brought up an interesting point: There isn't anything that makes time other than we humans. In other words, time wouldn't exist if we didn't exist. We have the conscept of time because we need it to plan. If we didn't need it, would it exist? I think not. So basically what the guy was saying is that time is an invention of ours. Kind of interesting, isn't it?

I really have a pet peave about stereotyping...but here's what I get a lot: The Nice Guy "Oh Shaun? He's like my brother!"

How's this? I upped the background intensity a little bit, and recolored the text.

I've decided I like this picture well enough to turn it into a banner. The question is, is it good enough like this, or should I add something?

That's true too. But I still say he could've been nicer about it. I hate it when people don't have respect for other people's feelings. A kinder attitude from the vet and this whole thing could've probably been avoided.

Hey cool! I just found out that my pictures of the floods got on the news! And the even said my name! LOL. That's hilarious about flooding the dorm...I could just see that happening....

I am thinking that the issue here is that, in fact, this vet...who is by all means a healthcare professional has failed to do an important part of his job. People need companionship. They're designed for it. Whether it be that of an animal, or a best friend, shouldn't matter. This vet has overlooked the fact that Lucky has probably been there for that guy through more crap than any of his human friends have. I think that is just sad. People can be so heartless. It's like the other day at work...we were talking about our pets. I was saying how I'd cried when one of my cats got hit. The girl I was talking to called me a sissy...but then the customer I was helping said something I'll never forget. "He's not a sissy. He's one of the rare ones out there that still has a heart." It is my opinion that all life should be held in respect. It's true that Humans are higher than animals. Humans have souls. But both humans and animals have life. That is something that is priceless...because any life can affect any other life in some way. I'm sure all of us pet lovers would agree that there are times that we might not have been able to go on were it not for the selfless love of our pets. As one person has already said here...they don't know any better. Would you have it any other way?

Okay, I'm sure we've all dealt with flooding in our area at one time or another. We had one here in Southeastern Ohio today. It's the worst I've seen it in at least 10 years. All the roads were closed and our neighborhood was basically cut off from the rest of the county. I've posted a pic here. That torrent used to be 2 quiet, nearly dry streams. We had to rescue our horses in this! LOL. So what's your flood stories?

I work in retail...I'd probably have to be upset at someone for being chaotic. People can be such slobs anyways...so that'd only add to cleaning. I think working in a store is the equivilant of slavery...only with pay. LOL.

I love the rain. It lulls me to sleep so easily. I like storms too. Raw power and fury. I just sit and watch. I was going to be a meteorologist...then I found out that the math was too hard...but its still very much a hobby of mine! :)

oh wow...Lets see... Blanko: My first online buddy, and my adopted sis. We've had more lengthy conversations about everything than I can count. Sara: She's got me through a spot or two, whether or not she realises it. I was stunned when she pm'd me for the first time asking to get to know me better. Hehe. Ginny: The one who knows me inside out, and shares my same views on life and everything. I think...no...I know I'd be lost without her talking me through some things...especially these past few weeks. Shy: He's always there with a kind opinion, or a nice word, or compliment. Some days, you need that kind of refreshmant. Bryan (Lailith Ril): An all around cool guy who's given me a different perspective whenever I needed it. Japan_86: It's not often you meet a new member as nice as she is. I admire the way she's nice to people, even when they don't deserve it. All these people altar my day quite frequently. And to them, I say thanks. It just wouldn't be the same without you all. And to anyone I missed, don't feel left out. You're just as included as those listed.

As stated, if this thread isn't going to be deleted... My parents split when I was 19. My dad left my mom and us kids (6 of us, I'm the oldest) for another woman. I'm the only one with a job currently, and I don't keep close ties with my dad. Do you blame me?

My name's Irish For John, and it means "gift from God." I dunno of any other meanings...

Another Hobby I have is music. I have a collection of well over 200 CDs and I like to play around with mixing them and stuff. I'm also in a Christian band. I sing and play piano. I've written four songs so far for them. It's so much fun! Here's a pic of the group. I'm on the piano bench behind the girls on the floor.

I had a thread on my favorite hobby a while back, so if you'd like to see it, run a search on Model Railroading, and visit that thread. I do have a second hobby, though not much different from the first. I love photography, so what better to take pics of than trains? :D Here's one of my best pictures:

I get where you're comming from now. ^_^. I do agree that not everyone takes it word for word. I don't think I do actually, but in this case I do. Seems clear enough to me, but like I said, that's me. As far as your typing and what not goes...I'm not much better, so don't feel bad! :D
-
Thank you, Sara, for saying what I could not. I love it when you do that ^_^.

You get it...but how many times is another story. If I walk up to you and hit you, you'd prolly forgive me. Maybe even twice...but what's your reaction after that? Anyways, I'm not gonna argue. I take an all or nothing approach here, and that's my choice. Y'all got yours and I respect that. I love you all as friends just the same :D

Actually it does. If you're a Bible believing Christian, it speaks against it. So there's where my thought comes from.
