Gods live among the mere mortals of Earth every day, in the guise of normal mankind. The vast majority of mortals consider these gods to be simply a myth and no more. They constantly read about these mighty beings in classic literature and create new stories of them daily for the television or children's books. No strife there is though, and the condition of their coexistence is quite peaceful, as it has been for thousands of secretive years. However, things are changing now. It is written in the stars that these times were fast approaching, and the diamonds of the heavens did not lie in their foretelling. War is coming now; Hades has a following of strong believers, and he is ready to have the Earth as his own to reign over. The gods will fight him, but it will be no piece of pie. All right, sign ups for Gods Among Us are finally opened. If you plan to join, you will first need to check out the Underground Thread located here: Underground Following is the sign up form. I will post mine later in the week. Ah yes, I believe he is an ex-Army Captain. Thanks for pointing that out. But do tell, what do you think of his music?

James Blunt: a British musician that I think is amazing. I love his voice. Supposedly, he is the first known male in the line of his father's descendants to not be in the military. He chose a field in the arts. I really respect him for that, and I love almost every one of his songs. If you've never heard of James Blunt, I'd recommend you listen to "High" and "You're Beautiful." They're both hits, and for good reason. Personally, I like "High" most of all. What does everyone else think about this relatively new hit musician? Post it here. James Blunt's Website

Personally, I believe that Dynamic Story, as you call it, is a good idea to have some experimentation with. I think that if you have a few people at least willing to do this, then it is definitely a fine idea. It would certainly add some "spice" to the rp storytelling methods we see. And as we all know, change is almost always good. We need the diversity. I think that it's good to have different kinds of roleplaying methods. I am all for experimenting with new ways. I think that the freeflowing chapters idea is definitely interesting. I really like it, and plan to use it in one of my upcoming rps one day to see how I like it. The traditional way, I believe, is the average way right now, and there is really nothing wrong with it. I think that we do need to try new things though.

Yes, I notice this as well. It was indeed a tie I do believe. Congrats to White and Boo for very nice pieces once again.

I advise doing gesture drawings (about fifty a day), and about four contour drawings a day (slow, outline drawings that you do by looking not at the paper, but at the object). These really help a lot. Also, draw real people and still-lifes, and study human anatomy. To draw something well, you need to understand its form. I'm thinking of including some specific tutorials for traditional drawing later on. I won't really have time to work on the tutorial much until July, so I won't expect anyone else to begin until then. Of course, you are welcome to if you want. I suggest that everyone draw a tutorial for front head, profile head, 3/4 head, back head, front body, side body, back body, and a complete picture step by step. EDIT: Okay, the deadline is over for sign ups for this thing. ART OF OTAKUBOARDS IS NOW IN PROGRESS Following is a list of all the artists involved in the project: cancer GTK bluemarble The Boss Ezekiel han ki-tae Following is a list of what I suggest to be included in the basic tutorials. Do all of the following that you think you are capable of: Front Head Profile Head 3/4 Turn Head Back Head Front Body Profile Body ¾ Turn Body Back Body Complete Picture To create a tutorial, you draw the first step, scan it, add the second step, scan that, and so on until the picture is completed. You should send the pictures in an e-mail numbered according to the steps. The text should be sent in a separate document. The deadline to complete all of your basic tutorials is August 20th. That should be ample time. If you have any questions please message me. Thanks. cancer, you've been around long enough to know not to double post. If you really need to add something in, but also need to bump the thread, please copy the content, delete the post, and post it again with the new information added in. Thank you Epsilon and Dragon Warrior. Your critiques really helped me to learn some things. Now I can use this information to better my future fanart. I really appreciate the time you gave in critiquing these very well. ^_^

DRAGON WARRIOR VS. CANCER The following is a graphics battle between myself and the skillful Dragon Warrior. We will each be creating one graphic design and submitting them in this thread. To vote, simply state your likes and dislikes about each design, and then state who receives your vote. You will not be judging the idea behind the designs, but the artistic/design quality of the pieces. Thank you. Wow, only one comment so far? Can I get some more comments please? I spend hours on fanart and I'd like to know what people think. Thanks. Also, please go comment/rate my fanart at www.theotaku.com . It takes a couple of days, so every so often, it would help. Thanks a lot. Okay, here's a new piece I did today: Sephiroth, of course

Within this thread I will post all of the fanart that I create from now on. I will also post some original sketches in here. I would appreciate any comments. I will try to draw one fanart a week at least. I think all of your artwork is nice. Can't wait to have you work on the tutorials for Art of OtakuBoards! Show us some more artwork now ^_^

White: I liked your poster design a lot; the colors and the text worked well. However, the idea may be odd and original I suppose, but it didn't really make me go Ah! I love it! Dragon Warrior: Your poster was interesting, to say the least. The text and colors seemed pretty random and didn't have much of an effect. The photos worked nicely though. The whole idea and the quotes really made me laugh. The whole thing just had me from the first quote. I love it. So my vote has to go to Dragon Warrior. Good job to both of you.

I know, I'm not holding my breath ^_- Though, the reason I think it may need its own subforum is that it will have roughly six threads at least just to start it out. The reason being, we will have about five artists working on things for it, and each of their tutorials would most likely be image-heavy. Probably very, very image-heavy.

I know that the idea for this is already in the Art Studio, but this thread is to discuss the idea of creating a new forum section just for Art Of OtakuBoards. What does everyone think about this idea? I know that it's kind of risky, since we don't know how much attention this whole thing will get. The purpose, of course, will be teaching the art of anime to people through involving tutorials. Depending on when the next version of OtakuBoards will be up, this could be released right when the next version is up. So tell me what you think. Thanks ^_-

I am wondering if anyone knows anything at all about the upcoming Harry Potter book. I really enjoy the Harry Potter books, and I can't wait to hopefully finish the series when the seventh book is released. So far, I have heard no details about the book, its title, or its release date. Please use this thread to post information about it when you find out. Thanks.

bluemarble, I understand where you're coming from. I also believe you should learn to draw before learning to draw anime. I am doing this, however, to show people mainly how to draw anime. I have really been considering putting up a traditional drawing tutorial also. I think I'm going to. It will show you how to draw traditionally instead of just drawing anime; it will have its own thread most likely and will come later on in the year. So be on the lookout. Also, bluemarble, you need to fill out the information if you want to be signed up. Thank you.

All right, if you wish to help with this tutorial and you have not signed up yet, you'd better get busy. I am closing sign-ups for help on June 15th. That is for the basic tutorial help, anyway. I will still accept people for special tutorials, such as inking tutorials, or hand tutorials: things like that. But in order to have your own thread for a tutorial, you will need to be one of the artists that I accept before the 15th. Around June 16th I will be sending details of what to do for the tutorial to those artists that I have not yet discussed it with. I'm hoping to have the Art Of OtakuBoards's actual threads up by late August. Thank you.

Dimes knew what was going on as soon as the large, brown-haired man came outside with another man by his side. Both of them stared at Dimes as though he was trash. The large man spoke, "Okay buddy. Get lost unless you want trouble." He balled his hands into monstrous fists and squinted his eyes. The man beside him followed suit, trying his best to look just as menacing. Dimes grinned. Obviously, since these men were both standing still, they did not know what his power was. He would definitely be able to eliminate one of the men. It only took him five seconds to concentrate all of his energy. He wanted to keep them at their current distance for just a bit longer. "Why don't we talk this out? Like gentlemen." He didn't really intend to negotiate. As soon as the last word was out of his mouth he closed his eyes and focused on the carbon-dioxide surrounding him. The burly man chuckled, "Haha. That's not an option, fella. You can either walk away nice and easy-like, or you can get your face pounded into this here ground. Now what's it gonna be?" He took one step forward to show that he wasn't afraid. Dimes grinned, and he decided that the burly man would be the one to die. He had finally gathered plenty of focused carbon-dioxide. He opened his eyes, and quickly raised his hand with his index finger pointed directly at the face of the large, brown-haired man. "Goodnight," Dimes whispered with malice. The large man opened his eyes wide and grabbed at his chest. He opened his mouth wide for oxygen, but it was too late. The large quantity of carbon-dioxide had poisoned his body completely to the point of no return. The man fell over, lifeless. The one that was standing beside him merely yelled. He almost kneeled over beside his friend, thought better of it, and ran inside, still yelling like a maniac. Dimes laughed like he had not laughed in many a day. His laughter rang out through the alleyways and brick buildings that engulfed him. He made his way with small steps toward the hideout. When he looked all around, no one could he find. "Hmmm, not surprising. I should've known this wasn't the true hideout." He exited the way he had entered.
