The OtaKuties- Critiques/Betting Thread [E]
cancer replied to Dragon Warrior's topic in General Discussion
I know, my photo sucked in the first round. That was my mistake. And it's not because I'm horrible at taking photos of myself, I just chose the wrong picture to use. >_ -
Thanks, I wasn't really sure if the bite was deadly itself. But yeah, I'm just reporting what I've heard from my friend there. She says that after the extermination someone else was bitten and the spiders are still there just as bad as ever. Also they did not wait long enough for the fumes to die before sending kids back to school. I'm not sure if they used a neutralizer for the fumes or not.

Okay, the high school I'm moving to in a week has a problem, as my friend down there informs me. It has a brown recluse spider infestation that seemingly began a few weeks ago. In the first week of January they did a level three extermination, which did not kill the spiders. Twelve students have been bit, one girl had an asthma attack from the fumes. As you may know, these spiders can be deadly. Yet the school hasn't even closed down. They're still expecting students to come as if everything is normal. What can be done about this. Does anyone know?

What's Your Favorite Hobby? My favorite hobby is definitely drawing and designing. I love to sketch human figures, portraits, still lifes, and abstract shapes. I also like to design banners and logos for bands and friends. Drawing is something I've been doing my entire life, and plan to turn into a career. However, I think that it's much more than just a hobby. It's a lifestyle ;) What do you think your best personality trait would be? My best personality trait would have to be my kindness. I am usually quiet and people sometimes assume that I'm not easy to talk to, but I'm actually really kind and understanding. I actually find it difficult to be cruel to people. Kindness is definitely my best personality trait, no doubt. :animesmil

So here's the deal. I live with my mother, I'm 17 years old, and I want to go live with my father four hours away. He's agreed that it's fine, but my mother doesn't want me to go. At 17 years old, is it my choice who I live with, or could my mother say no and not allow me to go? Is there a place where I can find information on my rights?

This year is my last year to participate in the Thespian Festivals, as this is my senior year. I am going to try to go to the National Thespian Festival this year, too, but I'm asking anyone on here that can to help me out. I'm making three entries into the festival: novice publicity, costume renderings, and playwriting. I'll also be in a play, but I don't really need help with that =] Last year I won first in my state with costume renderings, so I probably need the least help with that category. I'd like to do publicity for either Romeo and Juliet, or Peter Pan. In publicity, I'm supposed to create flyers and photos and such to advertise the show. For costume renderings, I'd like to do either Romeo and Juliet, Everyman, or Peter Pan. In costume renderings, I'm to design costumes for five to ten characters. In the playwriting category, I believe I can enter a play about any subject I wish. These are all the details I know at the moment. Can anyone offer any advice they can offer me before I make a lot of headway in my projects. Any input would be helpful. Thank you.

Ah, but Retribution, 'tis not the drawing that I need help with. I'm curious to know how he gets his images colored and such so well, while keeping his brushes (which would be the images he drew) so bold and keeping all the lines visible. See how he has many lines and such in some of his images, and they're still colored differently throughout the image, and yet he doesnt brush over the lines or anything. I'm just not sure how he does that is basically my only real concern. That's the reason I wish to see someone create something like that step-by-step. It would help me a lot in understanding the process of making complex designs like that. Those are the types of designs I try to create for bands. [hope that wasn't too confusing]

Delta, I requested a topic earlier for animated images. Anyway, I would also like to make a different kind of request. Instead of having someone show how to do one certain technique, I'd love to see someone who is very familiar with Photoshop take a complex image from www.choleraart.com and show step by step how to create the image. It would really help people a lot, I think. I know it would be helpful to me for sure. So here are my two requests: Animated Images Step-By-Step Cholera Design

Here are two more flash banners I've made. And Blase, thanks for the comments. 13th Man, thank you for the critique, you were very opinionated, which is a good thing. Fairy Tales Fairy tales and old stories have fascinated me for a long, long time. Currently I'm especially interested in them because my friend and I are working on scripts based off of fairy tales in our Playwriting class, and we've been noticing how odd most of them are. It makes me wonder how many fairy tales were thought of by way of drug abuse. What are your favorite fairy tales/old stories, and what do you think about the relationship between them and drug use? My favorite would have to be Alice In Wonderland. I love the book, and the movie is decent. The Cheshire Cat really amuses me. This story was most likely created from a high produced by the painkiller laudanum. Personally, I also think that Carroll ate psychedelic mushrooms and possibly smoked cannabis. Either way though, Alice's Adventures In Wonderland is my favorite story of all time.

This is an example of pixel art that I created from scratch. It took me about two hours altogether. It was done in Photoshop; it's a scene from Mario = p This is my first animated image:

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread
cancer replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
I'd love to see the following article about me added. = ] cancer Background cancer is a member from the United States that has been involved with OtakuBoards since early 2002. Unfortunately, he?s changed his name numerous times, so people probably don?t remember who he used to be, if that makes any sense. In his early days he was very active in the Adventure Square participating in RP?s and displaying artwork in the Art Studio. In those days, cancer was known as Ares. Art of cancer The one thing that cancer should definitely be noted for is his artwork. He has displayed artwork in the Art Studio often; he has participated in art contests, and in major threads such as Draw My Character. He has helped in making tutorials for the thread Art Studio Tutorials. Once he tried to create a tutorial on anime-style drawing titled Art of OtakuBoards, but that never went through, due to lack of time to give it the needed effort. It is a project that could one day be revived, however. cancer has been creating artwork for most of his life, ever since he can remember. He had been drawing in the anime style since 2000, but recently has moved on to more realistic drawings and has begun to get more into graphic design. cancer won the title of Dude of Doodles for the year of 2006 by winning first place in an art contest held by Dragon Warrior. Below are two pieces of artwork created by cancer. cancer in the Now cancer had his username changed to cancer in early 2006. He actually created a new account in the year of 2005, because for much of 2003 and 2004 he was not active on the boards. cancer is currently planning on creating more tutorials for the Art Studio and creating a new thread in which to display all of his artwork. By the way, cancer can do one hell of a Christopher Walken impersonation. Also, his real name is Jeremy. -
I'm not 18 yet, soon to be though, and I smoke. My parents probably know, and question me, but I do deny it. I do wish to tell them, but am not sure how to do so without them punishing me or something. They used to smoke too, so I'm sure they'd be understanding to an extent, but they are not too carefree about what I do. Any suggestions?

I have a question about coloring/selecting in Photoshop. This may be complex; I'm not sure. For reference of what I'm trying to achieve, go here: Cholera Art or Cholera Myspace. I'm perplexed as to how to select and color detailed parts of a hand-drawn brush like this. Can anyone give me an idea of how these images are colored? Thanks.

I really am not positive about the heritage of my family, and I'm really curious to find out where they came from. So I'd like to find out, but I don't want to pay some website to find out. Does anyone know a good website or method of finding out where your family members came from? And don't say ask relatives, because that part is obvious, = p I hope this thread can benefit everyone interested in this topic. Thanks.
