1. Some people are really frustrating. Also, my eye really hurts. Also, today was a wonderful day.
2. Monty Python's Flying Circus is one of the shows I grew up on. I think one of my favorite sketches ever has to be "The Ministry of Silly Walks". Oh, & my brother used to be obsessed with the "Spam" sketch to the point where he would sing the song all day long. Finally, as punishment, my dad made us eat spam. That was 8 years ago. We've not watched the "Spam" sketch since. The Holy Grail is one of my favorite movies I've ever seen, for the record.
3. I was babysitting & had to watch Napolean Dynamite. Worst 82 minutes of my life. Ever. I also have only ever seen one Batman movie: Batman & Robin. I was stunned, to say at the least. Since then I have not watched another Batman film.
4. Oh, there's this David Lynch film I saw recently called "Eraserhead". I want to watch that again. When it first came on, I couldn't stop laughing at how funny the title was, but then when I watched it I realized how disturbing it is. These are IMDB's thoughts on the matter:
Is it a nightmare or an actual view of a post-apocalyptic world? Set in an industrial town in which giant machines are constantly working, spewing smoke, and making noise that is inescapable, Henry Spencer lives in a building that, like all the others, appears to be abandoned. The lights flicker on and off, he has bowls of water in his dresser drawers, and for his only diversion he watches and listens to the Lady in the Radiator sing about finding happiness in heaven. Henry has a girlfriend, Mary X, who has frequent spastic fits. Mary gives birth to Henry's child, a frightening looking mutant, which leads to the injection of all sorts of sexual imagery into the depressive and chaotic mix.
I would highly recommend it if you're into the really disturbing, thought-provoking, almost gory kind of stuff. Yes, yes. It is good. Edit- I am currently watching the movie I Am Sam. So far it's so heart-wrenching. I love it.
5. My television has not moved from TBS in weeks. I don't even watch it that often... but it's nice to have background noise that's at least funny. As for movies, I haven't really watched any in a while. However, I plan to soon. Lately I've been meaning to buy Fight Club as well as Boondocks Saints. I love those movies & am feelin' them lately. Yep. (As for out my window, I have a great view, three stories up, of a dumpster.)
6. I've decided to change my font color. I hate change, but DeepSkyBlue is starting to strain my eyes :(
7. To be completely honest, they are two adults who have lived their own lives & done their own things for 30 years. The daughter did not grow up with that man as her father figure, so there is no reason to feel that emotional attachment to him in that sense. Thus, a sexual attraction isn't a bad thing, in my opinion. This situation is entirely different than if she had grown up with him & then had sex. The "family" emotion would be there between the two of them. That sense of family is what really makes incense wrong anyway (barring the child-bearing situation, but I'll get to that in a minute). A father shouldn't look at his daughter in that sense, nor should a daughter see her father. However, since he was never really a father to her, & she was never really a daughter to him, I don't see the situation as disgusting in any way. As for the child they bore together. THAT is wrong. It's a known fact that incestuous babies often have diseases & die at early ages. Because of that, they simply should not be allowed to have children... but I don't think their sex lives should be restricted.
8. Songs I'm currently digging a lot: ?The District Sleeps Alone Tonight by The Postal Service ?#41 by Dave Matthews Band ?Why Georgia by John Mayer ?Such Great Heights by Iron & Wine ?Oh, It Is Love by Hellogoodbye ?Anthems for a Seventeen Year Old Girl by Broken Social Scene ?Boy With A Moon & Star on His Head by Cat Stevens ?Go Ahead by Rilo Kiley I'm working towards more mellow playlists as of late.
9. I adore the piano. I have to take it as part of my major (music education), but I've been playing off and on for about a year. I took lessons in 6th grade but re-taught myself a year ago for my music school audition. The one song I'm ridiculously proud I can play is Pachelbel's Canon in D. It's not even that hard... but I think it's a neat song, so yay! Apart from the piano? I play the trumpet (7 years) & the saxophone (3 years) as well as a variety of random instruments that I have to learn for school. Oh, & the guitar is pretty bomb-diggity, too. I've been playing for 7 months.
10.
I've recently gotten into A Softer World, which is this bizarre three-panel photography based comic. It's got this whole "we're pretentious, but we realize how little that means" kind of thing going on.
I love A Softer World so much. I also really love xkcd. Some of them are so thought-provoking or romantic. It's sweet. Then there's always Toothpaste for Dinner. TPFD has been my favorite for a long time. It's so ridiculously hilarious. Then, of course, Cyanide & Happiness is a classic. It's just... funny. Hah. Oh, & a new favorite of mine: Garfield Minus Garfield. It's exactly what the title says: Garfrield comics with Garfield removed from them. It shows a more existential side of Jon. 11. Athena - I adore your glasses. They fit your face so well... very pretty (: Clurr - You should start wearing purple, wearing purple, start wearing purple for me now. 12.
Also, the infamous first meeting between Taperson and myself.
This. I've been around for nearly 3 years now. More than anything, I've just read Otakupedia over & over again. I like to read about bannings... they're interesting. But really, though. My meeting with Mr. Maul was pretty epic.
13. Is there an article you can link to for this? Just curious :) I think this whole ordeal is kind of ridiculous, to be honest. That should be enough money for three people, providing they aren't wasteful. And I believe also, they should put some time & money into hiring trainers or dietitians. Those numbers are disgusting.
14. So my roommate & I have our beds next to each other, lofted over our desks, & normally there's like a 6 inch gap or so in between our beds because they don't come all the way together, but last night, they were probably 10+ inches apart because her bed moved for some reason. Anyway, I dropped my stuffed lion CJ through the gap, accidentally, & it landed on the floor. See, I have a system though, so that I don't have to get down from my bed to pick it up. I pretty much like, prop myself to the bed with my feet so that I can pick it up... our beds are close enough so that I can support myself without falling through. So last night I started to do that... but because the beds were so far apart, instead of being able to support myself, I took a nosedive off the bed & onto a chair. So basically, I was headfirst on the chair just like "well, *******". & my roommate was on her bed laughing her head off. The end!
15. This year will be my first celebrating St. Patrick's Day. Usually I work (at a bar, no less), but this year I'm celebrating the Saturday before at my friend's apartment. Probably my favorite SPD memory was when my good friend dressed up as a leprechaun to school but got in trouble because he was "posing as a distraction". That was pretty fun. 16. 7. Would you rather meet one OBer of your choice and get the chance to meet them once a year for the rest of your life or meet a different OBer once a year every year for the rest of your life? I met one two summers ago & have seen him 4 times I believe. I'd rather see him once a year because I suppose we've already developed a friendship sort of thing? So yeah. That.
17.
Everyone knows that I'm a bot. Why else would all my posts completely lack emotion?
Bots make me crash my car.
18.
1. Would you rather be a dragon or Superman? 2. Would you rather have no arms or no legs? 3. Would you rather never be able to listen to music again, or would you rather never have sex again?
1. Superman! He's cuter than dragons. 2. No legs, for sure. I love wheelchairs. Also, my arms have hands at the end of them (shocker, I know), & I use my hands to, like... type. & play the piano. Those things are important. 3. I'd rather never have sex. I never have before, but heaven knows there are many alternatives &... activities that are shy of sex that can be just as good. The way I figure it, I won't be missing on anything I've already done. But anyway, my profession as a music teacher would be greatly endangered if I could no longer listen to music :P For the next set: 1. I'd like a short life with my own thoughts please! 2. Drunkenness. I'm a hilarious drunk. I would love to see it on YouTube! 3. Naked Cowboy. Is that even a question? ;)
19. I've worked at a summer day camp at my church since I was 14. Basically, 15 hours a week for about 6 weeks watching kids. It's harder than it seems sometimes. My next job was at a party supply store. I guess that wasn't really a *summer* job, but I worked there for about a year. Then there is/was the sports bar. I've worked there for 2 1/2 years but am taking a break for college. When I was 15, I worked all three of those jobs at once. Whoo! This summer, I'll hopefully be getting a paid internship at Eli Lilly. If I get that, I'll work there & the sports bar on evenings/weekends. If not, I'm back to the day camp + sports bar + another job of my choosing. Yep.
20. Giving up my weed fast & getting stoned. Whoops.

22. I'm cheating on this one with another forum. Whoops. Really though, I check OB nearly every day but never post. I guess I just like browsing. Eh (Also, you're like, Mr. I'll-post-once-or-twice-every-three-months :P)

24. My roommate & I are full of 'em: "The only political figure I'd want on my earrings is Arnold Schwarzenegger!" (That was her, in regards to an infomercial we saw for Barack Obama earrings.) "Surprise! I'm your new girlfriend!" (Her again. We were talking about this guy I liked & how to get him to ask me out. We decided the best way was to trick him!) "God thank you! Why did I just call you God? That isn't your name!" (Me to her. I'm not really sure what the context was, except for a severe lack of sleep.) "I don't want excitement if it means I'm going to get raped!" (Her in our Geography class. Our teacher was telling us about how people are too concerned with safety & good neighborhoods to explore the "cultural" part of town.) "Cuz like you said, this is it. This is life. & I'm in love with you. I think that's the only thing I've ever really been sure of in my entire life. And I'm really messed up right now, & I got a whole lot of stuff I have to work out, but I don't want to waste anymore of my life without you in it." (Garden State.) "Despite everything, I believe that people are truly good at heart." (Anne Frank.)
25. Most in one sitting: 3 beers, 4 shots of vodka, half a shot of whiskey, some kind of mixed drink. Or an entire bottle of wine. I'm not sure which has more alcohol in it. Favorite to drink: Wine
