I find it best to weed out the incompatible (read: sane) from the start.
I inticipate a fight over who gets to be the Green Ranger. Dibs!
Oh and Ironically, Rachmaninoff actually is a musician, a cellist to be precise. He's really quite talented. Anyway...
Then he's no longer invited to dinner. He'll have to stand and play a soothing composition whilst (yes whilst) we enjoy our creepy yet satisfying meal.
  2. Didn't turn out too bad at all. I've never colored any of my work using a computer program. Which program do you use? I've been interested in giving it a go for some time now, but there's quite a bit to choose from.
  3. Everything I find out about this movie makes me hate it more and more. I sat at my keyboard for a good five minutes before I could think of anything to say about this... Nope, still nothing... Nothing. Oh wait... No.
  4. Okay, okay, point taken. You won't hear any more from me on this matter. I suppose I may have gone negative towards the end there. Sorry guys.:animeblus
  5.
Either way Katakidoushi, Raiha is entitled to have her opinion and I believe calling other people's opinions less worthy whether they base it on fact or not is rather childish. It seems that anyone with the title of conservative is frowned upon these days when I feel that liberals are also under the hot seat for what's going on. Just because the war in Iraq is still continuing on right now and the economy is in dire straits does not mean we can point fingers in either direction. While the Republicans do fillibuster any sort of legislation that might work against their views of how the Iraq war should be handled, the Dems are just as much to blame for doing the same thing. Need I remind you that it's one country, with one government and the hating on conservatives needs to stop. The same goes for liberals. We're one government and hating on the left wing or the right isn't gonna solve our countries problems. So both of you need to simmer down in that respect. This is trolling. Stop it. Breakdown: Your opinions aren't any more valid when you take the time to slander someone else's opinion and do not yourself provide any evidence to make your opinion seem more worth it. So if you're gonna call someone on not providing evidence to back up their opinions, then don't go and state your opinion to refute their personal beliefs and call their views childish or scare tactics.
I never said Raiha "hates Barack Obama". And as far as evidence to "state my opinion": I have not been the one making outlandish claims about another person. I have simply tried to set the record straight regarding the truth about an individual. I have made no claims that require evidence to back them up. I do have a problem with someone's opinions when they are not based on anything relative. I have no problem with someone sharing a different opinion than me, but it should be an informed opinion. Haven't we had enough of people spreading the hate? I'm not referring to Raiha neccesarily, but people in general. I do not see how this is trolling. I have not brought up any slanderous material about anyone else. My enitire stance from the beginning has been to defend someone who is having slander thrown against them. I agree with you that the liberals are not innocent either, and if they started making accusations towards someone I supported I would take a stance against them as well. I'm not a Democrat or a Republican, or even an Independent; I disagree with all of them too often to lump myself in with them. I'm not attacking conservativism. I'm taking a stance against the personal attacks made against Barack Obama. I hope now we can move on from this point and discuss more relative matters.
Basically treat people how you want to be treated
Indeed. Many of us should take this life lesson.
  6. I have no idea if this thread is even going to take off, however if anyone has any questions concerning characters or needs a little more info concerning the subject matter I'd be more than happy to help. I've recently edited the audition and have given the characters a bit more direction. Is there anything else anyone would like to see included? We can discuss any changes or what not right here.
  7. Hands are always the toughest thing to draw next to a face, because like a face you can tell a lot about the kind of life someone has lead by their hands. Those are pretty good, youta. The best way to get better is to practice, even though you think to yourself, "if I draw this one more time I'm going to freak out"... or at least I do. The one thing I'd watch out for is lines. Lines are the enemy. The less lines (and more shadows) a drawing has the more real it will appear.
  8.
This may come as a terrible shock to you, but I'm not here to make anyone BELIEVE anything I say. I'm stating my personal opinions. And if some of my opinions aren't quite in line with yours, well then clearly I must belong to the vast right wing conspiracy. I'll go get a tinfoil hat.
Your "opinions" might be taken more seriously if they were based upon factual knowledge and not narrow minded conservative scare tactics. Everyone is entitled to think what they will. I just think it might be better if you HAD actual opinions and didn't just recite the right's talking points concerning "socialist liberals". Crimson Spider and I had a very extensive debate regarding both candidates health care policies in the "Debates for '08" thread. That is a viable subject in which to dislike a candidate, not accusations of a candidate's religion or childish name calling: "socialist". Your anger is exceeding your common sense.
  9.
Excuse me while I go fine a push broom to sweep up the detritus of your massive and sweeping generalizations. The pot calling the kettle black is always an amusing situation. Here's some Ajax. Supply your own elbow grease.
Your entire last post was filled with generalizations about government and is riddled with misinterpretations of.. once again "spreading the wealth". And who are these people that "don't know what to do with money"? Maybe you should read James entire last post again because he nicely sums up my point. You seem to have the point of view of the entire conservative culture: talk loud enough and use enough big words and maybe people will believe me. And Barack Obama was NEVER a Muslim. I don't know how many times people need to hear that before they believe it.
  10. In the legacy of Lucas himself I've worked up this video as an introduction. I realize it may be hard to make out. Once I compressed it the image got blurry. Below I've typed out the text for easier viewing. If you have trouble playing it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcGrYf4jTBw Chapter I THE JEDI’S BOUNTY Chaos! The Galaxy is in turmoil and on the brink of war! The Empire of the Sith is spreading , and the Republic’s hold over the outlying star systems is waning. The Jedi cannot combat this threat alone. The Chancellor of the Galactic Republic has put a hefty bounty on the heads of the enemies of the Republic. Bounty hunters from the far reaches of the Galaxy have taken up the quest. Meanwhile, the Chancellor has secretly dispatched three Jedi Knights to the Almas star system in the heart of the Sith Empire to apprehend the dark lord Darth Riven… EDIT: Our story begins in the Almas star system hundreds of years before Episode I. The Galactic Republic is without an army and relies on the Jedi Knights and guns for hire to battle against the vicious Sith Empire. The dark Lord Darth Riven has just arrived on the ice world Almas to oversee command of the Empire's Sith army. Years before the Rule of Two, the Sith Lords number in the thousands. The Republic's forces lie in wait on the outskirts of the solar system , awaiting word from three Jedi Knights that have secretly landed on Almas in an attempt to seize Darth Riven. However, hiding just beyond the planet's horizon the Empirial fleet is planning a surprise attack on the Republic's star ships. Battle lies in wait. Your character will either be fighting with the Sith Empire or the Galactic Republic, or possibly a gun for hire on either side (space pirate, bounty hunter, etc...). Republic: No word has yet been received from the three Jedi sent down to Almas. Your character is part of a rescue team that is sent down to Almas to find out what happened to the Jedi. Empire: Your commander picks up the Republic's rescue ship on radar. You are part of a team that is to intercept and destroy the rescue team on Almas. The three Jedi knights and Darth Riven will be third party characters (as their time in this story will be short lived). Your characters options are pretty much endless here. Anything that fits into this story is allowed. 11.
Speaking of silly little quotes I feel moderately compelled to point out that such a hope is vain. And his sentiment was one that could be easily interpreted to mean that all conservatives are stifling his goal of a socialist America. So in short, all dissent would disappear. That's not an admirable goal in the least, that's insanity.
Wow. So do you only read the conservative propaganda? I think Raiha's past few posts have just proven what I can not prove in one hundred posts. The conservative mind set would have us believe that Barack Obama can not be trusted because of the color of his skin and his father's religion. Is this really where we are in this country? Do we really want to be the people that add to the hysteria of religious persecution? Does someone's father's religion make them untrustworthy? The word "Muslim" has become a poisoned word in this country. I'll chalk that up to fear and ignorance. People who don't want to face the truth use these reasons to hate another person . It's easier to hate someone for these things then to actually learn about them, and God forbid understand and admire them. This man has done more to help the unprivileged people of this country then I'm sure (no offense mind you) anyone on this board has. Yet people continue to base their opinions upon trivial factors. Would all of you like people's opinion of you to be based upon your father? Barack Obama only met his father once, when he was ten. So I think we can put this Muslim hoopla to bed. And to address your post: If I hear one more conservative say "spread the wealth" I'm going to stab myself. Maybe if you only watch Fox News you'd think Obama is a Socialist, but if you step outside of the very red box and into an open minded environment where facts exist you'd realize that is a false statement. If you show me one piece of evidence (not conservative heresay, but hard evidence) that's he's a socialist I'll retract my statement. And "hope is vain"? Well thats just sad... Everything begins with hope. You believe that this country can not strive, can not move on to a better place? And Obama is vain for suggesting so? The bitterness of conservatives during (and apparently after) this campaign is sickening. He's going to be our next president, all of the complaining and fear-mongering in the world is not going to change that. I refuse to believe that you actually buy into this close minded rhetoric, Raiha. It's so beneath you. If you're going to dislike the man, do it for legitimate reasons. It's understandable to disagree with someone, but do it based upon facts. The Republicans lost this election because they focused on low blows and smear instead of the issues. They never told the people how they were going to help them, they only said how Obama wasn't going to. McCain's tactic was to make people angry. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of being angry. And by the way concerning the Californian props: You're right I haven't read them, that's why I was asking you about them. But apparently my question instilled quite a bit of anger.
  12.
Actually there isn't a disagreement. I just happen to believe that once they write a good proposition that handles the subject of homosexual partnerships without managing to stifle/offend/etcetcetc heterosexual partnerships I'll be happy to support it with my vote.
How have any of the propositions done anything that you just listed?
  13.
Come up with a proposition that doesn't tell me what we can and can't say in the public schools about 'mother' and 'father' and I'll probably view it with a little more magnanimity. But automatically assuming that only oppressors vote down gay marriage legislation is both intellectually dishonest and oh so easy. So that's probably why so many people do it.
Did you just disagree with yourself? But I'd have to agree with you in part. Those Props are so lengthly and heavily worded that most people (unfortunately) won't put the time in to read them. They usually pick out a word or two and vote yes or no based upon that, or don't vote for them at all. The people who do vote are usually the ones who have received sample ballots in the mail, or are aware that the prop or amendment will be on the ballot. However it is and always will be that the people who are against something that come out in bigger numbers than those who are for it. Though maybe this presidential election was an exception. But I'm convinced America can only handle so much change at a time.
  14.
Just for the record: Kosovo and Bosnia. Clinton. Oops.
I don't think I have the strength to get into a Kosovo or Bosnia conversation with you right now, but thats correct it was Clinton. Congratulations you paid attention in school and watched the news. You get a prize; oh wait... what was that other name that had ties to the terrorist group the KLA (the reason we were in Kosovo)? Oh yeah thats right: Osama Bin Laden, but wait a minute that can't be the same organization that Bush tried to form a relationship with in 2000... oh wait it is.
  15. I was also assuming it would be replaced by an artificial limb as well. Also the magic of text flying through space is that it sums up a lot of back story and lets us get into the meat of the action. There is room for a very wide range of characters here, though I'm not sure how popular star wars is on Otaku. I wouldn't normally find myself showing interest in this (though I am a star wars fan) but the star wars universe is so expansive that the possibilites are nearly limitless.
  16.
I'm really tired of this "I'm moving to _______ bitchbitchwhinemoan" If you can't handle things going your way then leave.
First of all... that was hilarious and true. Second of all... Is this really what's it has come to? Americans clearly now have too much time on their hands and clearly nothing real to worry about if this is a talking point. Do you think the people in Kosovo or Bosnia were bitching and moaning about this kind of nonsense. No, when bombs were dropped on their homes and their entire country caught on fire they didn't threaten leaving the country, they picked their sh**t up and ran for their lives, because they had REAL problems. Who are these "American Refugees" with their 401Ks, pension plans, and stock portfolios that can't bare to live in America for another second? It makes me sick.
  17. Sort of a join or die kind of thing. Sounds pretty good. I'll put some thought into some more details tonight. I've been messing with powerpoint and all of the other ridiculous programs on my computer and I believe I've figured out the crawling font situation. Once we have a solid idea formed I'll see if I can work some magic and spread this idea around. Also, what about a name? Are you going to call this an episode, dragon, or were you thinking of just a chapter sort of thing, like that abortion that was the clone wars movie? I was thinking just a Chapter myself. Kind of like: Chapter I The Jedi and the Bounty Hunter or Chapter I The Jedi's Bounty What were you guys thinking of?
  18. Well first I think a solid storyline should be developed. You want a large portion of the story to revolve around this bounty hunter that is possibly on his way to becoming a jedi, correct? Maybe the story starts directly after the Sith defeats him. Since I always like a little disfigurement and since the Sith are quite vicious I'm thinking our bounty hunter has to loose an arm or something. So possibly the story starts after this incident. Then he begins his quest to become a jedi, getting together a crew of swarthy individuals to take him to Coruscant possibly, maybe a jedi in the mix somewhere? Also there has to be that impending doom feel... So maybe the Sith learn of his budding abilities and begin to hunt him down. I'm not sure what Drizzt has in mind, and I haven't put much thought into this myself but it's a start I suppose.
  19. Well at least the uploading it into a post portion of it. It'll take a fair amount of skill to get the font scrolling just right, and to ensure fluidity of the transitions. I might just have to put a classic Lucas screen wipe at the end just for the hell of it.
  20. Well Drizzt I would simply upload it to youtube and link it in here through embedding. It would be groovy.
  21. There is so much bitterness and hate surrounding this election, so much ignorance and religious brouhaha concerning Barack Obama. This country has a sad habit of judging someone by their name, and it hasn't proven effective yet. Are we really that consumed in conservative heresay that we truly believe because someone has a funny name that they will bring about the end of the world? I blame the conservatives for this. They have used this campaign of hate and fear to attempt to scare the country into not voting for a man because he's different than any other president has been. They have let racists and extremists spread slanderous filth for months, and people wonder why these falsehoods exist about the man. I'm not blaming McCain directly, but his campaign and other Republican organizations have been shameful in their actions. Some conservatives say they are "above" these tactics but as Raiha has just proved they will denounce these claims one moment and then attempt to instill that same fear in the next. Obama has to "prove where his loyalties are"? He's just spent the past 2 years running for president of the United States. How much more loyal to your country can you be? What makes McCain so much more loyal than Obama, being a POW? How about being a communtiy organizer and fundraiser for the underprivelaged residents of the south side of Chicago? How about turning down a carreer at a multi-million dollar law firm to work at a community law office in the ghetto of Chicago to help those with little money who are struggling with legal issues? Does that make you loyal to your country? There's a reason he's been elected the next President. He's shown he can run a brilliant campaign and get people to stand behind him and work together as they never have before. You may say he's all speeches but before now neither Obama or McCain have been in a position powerful enough to get done any of things either one of them has discussed. But action begins with words. He's already began selecting his cabinet, and putting together the Obama administration. He's attending a peace conference with Bush next week. So actions are beginning to unfold. The last thing we need now is division in this county. Republicans and Democrats and all parties need to stand behind Obama. Because that is the only way we will begin to solve the many problems crippling our country. Hate, fear, malcontent... these need to be things of the past. Change requires all of us.
  22. Well I have this film editing software called Camtasia and I could work up a star wars type opening with the music (now that i've noticed) and everything actually. But my original thought was much less complex. I originally was thinking of just a linked image with text in the style of star wars, but if you want to go all out it could be done. I could work up an actual video of a star wars type opening, but we're going to have to get some more interest in this and if I'm going to put time and effort into this I want a certain amount of creative control. Of course if you want to do it your way I'll stay out of your hair, no problem. Whatever floats your boat.
  23.
As for those of us who voted Independent or Republican, we can *****, moan, analyze, and criticize all we want. :D
Just like the rest of us have been doing for the past eight years. The thing that first brought me to Obama is that for a change I actually feel like he wants this country to succeed, and he's not just trying to obtain an elected office. First the first time in a long time I believe in a politician... and it feels good.
  24. Okay, first of all... If this gets off the ground you have to do your first post (or even the audition thread) like the opening of every star wars movie (scrolling text through space). You could use Microsoft Digital Image Editor, which I'm a big fan of. And it would also be awesome if you (can we even do this?) link the starwars theme audio into the thread so posters can listen to it while reading the decription. If we can't, maybe a youtube video of it just for the audio... we'll see. Okay... *cracks knuckles* As Drizzt said you're going to need to develop this idea a lot more. Think of the man himself: George Lucas. Keep the plot open, but structured. No Star Wars movie focuses on just one character. This is quite a quandry on Otaku because you need to give enough of a storyline to interest people, yet leave it open ended enough for people to develop their own characters. There's a thin line for success regarding RPGs around here. I'm sure I could spitball some ideas if you'd like. Let me know if you're interested in them and possibly you, Drizzt and I could team up for this RP. I'm a believer in if you're going to do it, do it big or not at all. Good luck.
  25.
And if you tell your friends to join I'll give you my mobile number if you're in the UK and my credit card number if you're outside there.
Well I just assumed we'd be getting those anyway; now I'm upset. How about just your address and a list of your fears? So will you be vicious and post the accepted people in here or possibly by PM? Either way doesn't bother me, cause I'm offing myself after this RPG is over anyway. So you'll have that on your conscious now, Vicky.
