  1. I would have to agree with zidane. Pull him to the side one day when you have the time to make a little private discussion, and then let him know whats up. You cant blame a guy for trying, but you can tell him that its not going to work. Of course, I know you will handle this with the utmost regard for his feelings, but you will still need to give him a blunt statment that lets him know his advances are "unwelcomed." I wish you luck with this, but then again, I was never the kind of guy to pull these sorts of stunts, so I cant really say I want you to be all too gentle. Fellas that make girls uncomfortable with advances like this arent very cool in my opinion. But then again, if he stops it when you ask, that would be enough reason to never hold it against him, which Im sure you woulnt do. good luck.
  2. I think I would want to be a dog in a house that actually took care of the lil sucker. If it was a caring house I would want to be a dog. If it wasnt a nice place, forget being a dog. I would in that case, want to be a falcon so I could do the 200 mph flying dash they can make. (now that is speed) Oh yea, I wouldnt mind a chance at my life like I have now again. Infact that would be the top of the list above all else.
  3. I haven't played the game besides the arcade. I was interested in a 2d fighter for the same reasons as you... next ps2 game to buy. Sure enough, everyone said this was the game. I had personally been looking at snk v capcom2 because of its variety of charactors and control schemes, but everyone thought that the overall quality of that game was not as good as marvel v capcom. I would say that is a good sign for marvel v capcom2. Overall I still like the idea of snk but I think that you should just try to play both and see what you think. I can tell you now though, everyone on the boards is gonna give marvel v cap, a better review than snk v cap. So just give them both a try... good luck with the choice.

    Crying...

Im sorry, I really am. I also had to deal with problems similar to this. Of course, there are as many things for me to deal with but there are things that we both had to do, so with those in mind, I can empathize with you. (its on the boards in the lounge.) I want to say above all else that things always change and as bad as things may seem now, they just might get better soon. Hopfully really soon. I think that you have shown many of us on the boards a great deal of charactor and have also made the boards a better place to be. Every day, people say good things about you, I cant even imagine how much "fan mail" you get in the form of PMs. I know that you will be able to get through these tough times, I just wish that those of us on the boards could do more to comfort you in this time. I hope things get better soon and good luck with everything that has been bothering you.
  5. I was an article in newsweek about the new flick and the creators said that they drew inspiration from akira and ghost in the shell. I dont know how much or exactly how... But either way, the movie looks awesome. Keanu Reeves flying... hot damn thats gonna be awesome. I will be in line to see the flick once it opens, but I dont think Im gonna go on the first day. Not with all the crap I had to deal with for lord of the rings. After that I learned my lesson.

    Help

You could try looking at your cookies settings on your computer. It could also be a low blow from a mod that secretly hates you (highly unlikely) You might just wanna try seeing if the administrators had anything to do with a possible cleaning out of user names. (doubt that also) I would suggest that you pm some of the big dogs on the boards and see what they can do. Im sorry to hear about your dilemma. Sucks big time especially since your the freshest newb on the boards all the sudden, yet your the most experienced newb in the world. Soooo... I dont know what else to say beside good luck with your hard luck.
  7. State of the union indeed. I still will say your wrong about the above, it was a defensive occupation of southern vietnam. Not an aggresive caimpaign against the north, so please dont start with me about the details/objectives of vietnam. But I want to write about the address. Specifically the evidence bush mentioned about iraq. It turns out that today it was announced that on feb. 5 collin powell will be releasing audio and video evidence of Iraqi involvment in terrorism and the possesion of weapons that violate u.n. resolution 1441. It seems to me that it would have been better to come out with this stuff long ago, but there is a possibility that this sort of evidence may very well accelerate aggressive actions against Iraq. I am also hoping that this stuff doesnt bring out evidence that france, germany and russia have been dealing with Iraq in economic relations which may violate the rules of 1441. I think its important to remember that the orders laid out in 1441 specifically state that Saddam must come out and prove he has dis-armed, contrary to what many think, we do not need to prove saddam has weapons, he must prove he doesnt. I also think its sad about the way a political offensive was begun immediatly following the speech. It was a speech by the gov. of washington state. Oddly, he didnt address much besides the few objects that bush didnt concentrate on. On a positive note, I am still stoked to see that bush is pushing for aids help in africa and hydrogen powered cars. The hydrogen power idea was in use atleast 3 years ago. It was, as far as I know, first commercially shown, in a bmw 7 series. Its almost sad that it is taking so long to get this stuff into application. But from what the reps. at bmw said back then, the main problem getting this into practice is getting a system of refeuling that can replace the gasoline systems in place already.
  8. Actually James, I hate to disagree with you, but the vietnam war was not a cut and dry loss for the usa. Infact, the usa never lost a large scale battle and by 1973 the usa had full control of the republic of south vietnam. However, in 1975, the usa, ceased funding and support of south vietnam and with in 6 months of that date, the communist took back control of south vietnam. (Im sure the ceasing of funding was linked directly to anti-war protest in combination with nixons resignation) It is however, important to recognize that during the tet offensive (cheapest trick ever but militarily genious) the nva put on a full offensive as well as the vietcong. These two groups suffered extremly high causaulties and could not sustain the war effort they had held to that point. The reason there is a misconseption of loss in vietnam is simple. The usa did not have the support of the majority of the southern vietnamesse people. Only groups like the khamer serei(which tranlates to "free cambodians", quite the oppisite of the well know Khamer rouge, "communist or red, cambodians") and montagnards (rough spelling, french term for "mountain people" established during the french attempt at colonization in indo-china/vietnam) were willing to support the usa with their own military effort, which is why the usa established operation groups such as macv and mike force. The vietnam war was a troubling one for the american people due to goverment coverups under lbj (which is being turned into an fx movie called the "pentagon papers") as well as the anti war protest, which were also responsible for the usa not continuing an effort to remove dictators such as pol pot. In the war, the usa actually never suffered a decisive loss in battle. It was actually the gorrilla efforts of the vietcong that had the most effect on u.s. troops simply because of the mental damage inflicted on troops having to defend against women and children engaging in gorrilla combat. (just as what happen in mogadeshu, somalia. commonly known as the "black hawk down" inncodent) I only put up this point because of my extensive research on this subject due to the american public education system's lack of ability and willingness to tackle the subject. ---------------------------------- However, on the subject of war and the economy, it is true. winning can result in economic growth, while loss can result in economic callapse amongst other things.

    The Shield

Its time for a new episode. In fact this is the night of the state of the union address. This show is amazing. Vic maccie is the man, he is the ultimate crooked cop. I have never liked the idea of a crooked cop until just about right now when vic is using his crooked status to catch armaniean diamond crooks/ armaniean mob. Its a great show and is actually well written. I just wish it came on with last seasons episodes as reruns.
  10. I gotta say, it is important to me to know that those of you willing to get tattoos are willing to take the time to get a parlor, which will use sterile equipment and make a point of being a clean establishment. good luck to those of you interested in these things... heck, maybe we can get a "looky looky at my tattooie" thread in the my picture section of the lounge. But that must be done by you guys with tatoos.
  11. I am dying to see this movie. It is an excellent looking movie based on what I have seen in terms of previews and what not. I also want to know more about it myself, from the people on the boards who have seen it. The movie looks so damn good that I just cant stand how my local movie stores dont have anime selctions worthy of any sort of otaku none the less, small time anime freaks like me. I also wanna mention.... good job with that job jin-17. I applied for a job at the big bb and still havent heard from them. Can I ask, how long did it take for them to get back to you? Just hit me in a pm or something so we dont spam this thread. Thanks if you do, if you dont... I know you took my job. *wink*
  12. I was wondering the same thing. Im watching this right now. What Im wondering about even more, is how many board members are gonna get on here and talk about this with out having seen the address. I personally liked the hydrogen suggestion and large sum of money bush is putting forward to get this stuff started. I also like the fact that bush is taking all this time to talk about aids and giving support to africans with the disease. Its suprising to see how much of this address is being devoted to aids and america/bushs desire to confront hiv/aids problems. He is now proposing a new plan to fight aids that will theoretically prevent 7 million cases of aids. He wants 15 billion over the next five years to fight aids in the carribean and africa. I just happen to be acting as a stanographer right now, so this stuff is being typed as it comes to me. I will be back with more, but I dont wanna bother typing the stuff he has to say about terror and all the war crap. For now, that can wait... I also liked the part about getting rid of any marrage tax that people may be paying. Being married should not be a disadvantage. I also loved the part with the rhetorical question about terrorist letting us know about what they were doing. It was also pretty nasty to hear our government acknowledge the rape and torture that occurs in iraq, perpetrated by its government. It kinda makes you unhappy to think about those people. Especially if youve seen the interviews with iraqies that had to watch their own sisters being raped and their own parents being blinded. (dont qoute me, but I think it aired on pbs) Its also good to see bush come out and start talking about the evidence america has been gathering, which directly addresses saddams involvment in terrorism. (I believe this is all a result of the guantanamo bay interviews.) 59 minutes and 40 seconds of speeking, interupted by appaulse 77 times. The focus of the speech was odd. It was obviously about building and laying out and revealing his case against Iraq as well as the classified info which will be given by sec. powell sometime next week. But it was most important to me, to see him talking about aids and hydrogen simply because they are both subjects that we should all be able to work through regardless of our political partisanships. Although, the fact that he began addressing Iraq was important also, simply because he didnt say we were going to war, yet he did say that the case is soon to be revealed. Its also important to note that the president did talk about aids in africa more than medicare in america, and to me that is an odd thing. In one way, it shows his honest drive to get involved in africa, but it also shows that bush knows he cant do anything about making americans more willing to work with each other about working with medicare. but he did talk about medicare and he did make the point that he wants to deal with medicare. I believe that the most important thing I have realized in this, is that there are 2 groups (simplified of course) of people. Those who are judging the situation based on what they heard and saw, and those who are judging things on their own deeper beliefs of the president. It also bothers me to see so many people in the government (not the president specifically) who are talking about saddams weapons and acknowledging his tyrancy. To me, its bothersome because it almost could be seen as people saying, "...sure we know hes a bad guy doing horrible things, but lets just worry about his weapons." I say, what about those people he tortures and maims? But enough of that. I think I should focus solely on bushs words in his speech. I also think its amazing to see the attacks that have already begun. Its kinda funny if you watch the way things are presented. Things like sentences that put words into the presidents mouth like "lets read the fine print." It was also said by the gov. of washington "this administration is trying to role back progress for the enviroment." Im guessing he was talking about the hydrogen cars and development. But like I said above, I am getting off topic and it would be best to focus on the speech. I gotta say though, it was really amazing to see Jaun Williams (big time liberal of "afro-american" decent, if that matters) say "this speech moved me." with a tear forming. Now that was suprising. It was also great to hear the president make the point that the profits made on stock dividends shouldnt be taxed again since it was already taxed when the profits were made at the companies level.
  13. Craig Marduk? What the hell, I guess thats what craig is saying right now too. I dont use that guy at all, but I do like the fact that I went with answers few used and which represented myself in game and life, hence, it was an individual answer.
  14. I love this show now. I truely hate this show at the same time. I think its so funny, but I also think its horrible the way people sing. I mean, even most of the good ones still suck big time. Its also really funny to see them suck up to the judges. And need I say how harsh and funny it is to see simon break these fools down?
  15. This is off subject of Iraq, but did anyone see what happend in ivory coast? Amazingly it was tons and tons of natives protesting waving signs asking for the u.s. to come get involved. There were signs saying stuff about americans being welcome and chirac being a criminal. I dont know much at all about what the situation there is, but for now its looking ugly, cause any time a third world country is asking for u.s. help... things are really bad. Sorry for the off subject notice of worldly affairs but I thought you guys might be interested to here that. I also want to mention that the story we've been talking about with the containers... I had learned of that right after it happend. The mass graves... the suffacation. All of it, but I do want to point out that when you take that story and say it over again so that it reads with marines doing the shooting to kill and purposely going into the desert to kill these prisoners... well, that changes things to say the least.
  16. OK, Im sorry. Im sorry for getting upset, but that is about all I have to say on this anymore. All of my reasons are posted throughout the various post on this in this thread and the other Iraq thread. Dont worry about any sort of closures, this will be the end of the bickering. Although I will say, if something like that happend with the marines, it would have come out, especially if it aired on national television in austraillia on the special broadcast service. Something like that doesnt just slide by undetected, and plus, since it was allegedly aired on the sbs, that would mean it did come out. So then its just a question of whether it happend or not... and that stuff I will leave you all to decide. I think Im gonna try and make it back to my original reasons for joining the otaku boards - anime.
  17. I formally want to resign from this. It is obvious that there is no chance for me. For one, I can not put forth the creative effort to use "facts" like what you two have. But more important, where did Iraq end up in this. Has it come up once in any of your America bashing? I hate to say it, but all events in Americas history that are known in the world press are presented to the American public. There is just no point to this any more. I know you two will be happy with this, so I am happy knowing that. But I am saddend by knowing what goes around in the rest of the world. I have no intention of debating something like this. It would be like fighting the ocean. How can I debate ideas that are not documented? How could I even begin to address ideas like what you two have suggested? There truly is no point to continuing this. Just honestly face yourselves when it comes time to say these things to people in person and not just over the net.
  18. Im sorry but that crap liamc wrote is bull ****. There is no way that can happen in the first world press without proper acknoledgment. This kind of stuff is what makes all of your arguments no matter how good, bull. If two airforce officers are put on trial for dropping ordinance on canadians, all by accident, then these marines would face a court mashall just the same. There is a chain of command and that crap would have never happend. Frankly, your full of ****. I tried giving you credit for being resonable, but your not, your a blatant liar. Flat out. I have al jeezera on my dish and I watch it all the time, and that was never mentioned. If your as smart as your acting youll know what al jeezera is and youll know what they would give to air a story like that. I also wanna stress, cnn is a liberal network with liberal agendas. I dont like biased network news. Bottom line at this point is simple... you have no respect from me in any debate from this day forth. ---------------------------------- as for you cloricus, I have plenty of time on my hands, how do you think I see so much about current events? You are also full of it. You obviously dont know or havent seen saddam role his army into kuwait, which did air on history channel. I really dont even know what to say to you. Korea, genocide, your nothing. You people are the worst fools Ive ever dealt with on the boards. Im ashamed that you've even gotten to me and made me mad. Oh well. I want to make it clear though, say what ever you want, but your lies woulnt cut it in the real world. What are you? I mean really, throwing out this bogus conspiricy crap with what you call "facts" doesnt make it true. What makes things like this true is the worlds acknowledgment. None of which your facts have ever had. This is just rediculus. Fact is, I dont even need to reply because you people have done my argument for me. I couldnt have made you look worse with a thousand word essay citing every single fact I would like to mention. Whats the point of debates like this when there is no third party to verify anything or for that matter shoot down lies. I really am giving up on this, but not because of some trash talking reason Im sure youll throw out, but simply because there is no point in debating with the likes of you 2.
  19. You know, endymion, I like the fact that your open and honest. But I do want to mention that we (the u.s.a.) gave saddam bochalizm, and anthrax because of their fears of being attacked by iran. However, Iraq used seron nerve gas to kill the 5,000 kurds (his own people in hallabjah) and 25,000 iranians which were just the tip of the iceberg in the 8 years war between iran and iraq. Plus, the fellas at mad aren't exactly historians. I do want to mention though, I really do respect your post. You have got more balls and sense than alot of people on the boards. Plus I like the fact that you were willing to put aside "whining" and just say what you were thinking, and end it at that. I commend you.
  20. See, I cant help it, I just have to come back. Cloricus, the gulf war was not a political stunt. Jeez, Im gonna try this again, but go get your **** together. And for real, where were you guys when clinton was bombing Iraq for the entire time he was in office. Saddam declared kuwait to be the 19th provence of iraq and invaded the entire soveriegn nation of kuwait with armored divisions and infantry troops. This is just rediculus. But it gets entertaining to see how uninformed you guys get to be. I mean, what, do you avoid the news and history programs so easily available to you on purpose. Just do me a favor and keep on posting, this stuff makes for great conversation with the educated folks at school and well, just about every where other than here. And for gods sake... where is james!? I know your out there, and I know your intellectual capabilities are well with in the domain of shooting down the sort of crap thats been said by so many in this thread. I mean, doesnt anyone argue with the facts anymore, or is everything about opinions and conspiracies.lol. But for real, I gotta stop giving this stuff my time. If this post aggrevates any of you, just go back to my first one, its got my first thoughts and some added in edited thoughts. Oh my bad, you should also go to my second post, but they are both on the same page.
  21. Ahhh! Cloricus and anyone else here doesnt have to worry or wait for what I have to say. Atleast not for now. Im just tired of this sort of crap debates. Bring in james and maybe then we can have some debates. Or maybe someone that really knows what 1441 states. Or maybe even a few that have seen the video footage of the original invasion of kuwaits capital. Its just no fun to debate with people who dont watch 2 different major news channels everyday. (it becomes obvious who does and doesnt in threads like this) I mean, do you really think there is anything short of mass genicide on africans that would get jesse jackson to acknowledge what a problem Iraq is... hell no, theres nothing. With that in mind, I should say that alot of people here are kinda like that. I dont mean that in the way of personal insult to anyone. So, just forget Im here until someone comes up with something interesting to say rather than the same old personal opinion and anti-bush/war bias. (btw, my support for bush is fading fast with the way this admin. didnt kill the popy crop in afghanistan, and yet they will spend my tax dollars on anti-marijuana commercials airing during the superbowl. which were all rediculus.) ------------------------------------ This is in response to the below statment about cnn and I. I want to make it clear that although I watch a lil cnn, I only do it because its good to have a little fat in your diet. Most of my news comes from fox (because of independents like bill oreilly, and a combo like hannity and colmes) but I also watch abc and nbc, cause its good to let the left bias networks get a word in too. I also want to restate, its nothing personal, its just a thing of educated debate versus the old personal/biased opinion debates. Dont worry fellas, Im not gonna challenge you all that much for now, it just gets old when your wasting your time speaking to deaf ears. Plus, I really am sorry if you take this stuff as personal insult. (thats really more for liamc than cloricus. Cloricus doesnt really deserve respect that he, himself will not give.)
  22. Its interesting that this come up since I will be posting a picture of myself very soon. I am told by way too many people that I look like stephen baldwin. Although I dont want to admit it, I see why. But you guys will get to be the judge of that soon enough.
  23. Ahhh! thats poo. I would like to point out that currently france and germany are both oppossing war with iraq as well as removal of saddam. Is it coincedence that those two countrys get a large supply of oil from saddam but havent gotten the full amounts they have already made deals for. Or what about security counsil member russia, who made a 5 year economic plan with iraq less than 1 year ago. It is also important to recognize that of all of americas oil supply only 24 percent comes from the middle east. Thats the whole middle east. the majority of american oil comes from places such as southern america. Oil may have a part in this wars end, but it isnt the driving force. I need not mention what saddam has done, but Im gonna put out some facts about saddams enviromental record... currently there is an amount of oil 20x the size of what was spilled by the exxon valdez because of the 5 million barrels dumped into the arabian sea by saddams forces, by saddams order once he learned of his impending defeat in the original gulf war. Since that time the death rate in kuwait has risen 10% directly because of this. Do I need to ask if you have seen the oil fires saddams troops lite on their way out of kuwait? I believe that the oil exscue is just the same old rederhic from people who are anti-bush and anti-war. Of course, your allowed to disagree... but not with saddams record. also, this could have, and should have, gone in the iraq debate thread that is already up. ---------------------------------------------- And if this is all about oil, then why aren't we going to war in venezuala?
  24. Well, this may come across as silly to some here, but others might understand how I feel. Basically this is about a relationship I was in. This relationship was "the one" so to speak up to this point in my life. Sadly it ended a long time ago. Story goes... I moved away from my home town, we had been together in a relationship that was serious for a long while at that point and when we had to seperate it tore me up as well as her. We hung onto the idea of being with each other again one day, but both slowly came to terms with the fact it would never happen. The most important part in our seperation was the fact that this one relationship was the most important one in both our lives up to that point, and for that reason alone we would always be close friends. Then one day just recently I got the chance to go to my home town again. She just happend to have drove 2,000 miles from CO. to get into town at the same time as me. We spent a day together and then on new years eve about an hour during that midnight period. We had planned to spend just a little more time together before I left. It would be the day before I left we decided. She never talked to me again. I went home and tried to contact her just as I had while I was in town. Although I had moved on, so to speak, I still wanted to know her in the long run. She continued to ignore me for some time, and up until just yesterday, she never said a word. Then, yesterday, she wrote me an email. It explain how she was sorry about the way she had been acting. She said she had moved on and I should too. She felt that we couldnt be friends in fear that I would have feelings she didnt. So she said she was sorry for hurting me, and it was finally over. This oddly was not a problem to me. In fact I had very much moved on, but our "bond" had been so important to me that I had always wanted to remain in some sort of contact, even if it was the most distant of sorts. My only problem to this point had been her ignoring me. Not contacting me at all and explaining her feelings, no matter what they were. With this final contact we had, all my troubles ended and I could be happy with where things ended, even if we couldn't be friends. I love her as the person she is, but more important, she taught me what it really meant to love someone whom is only a friend. I told her I would never forget her. And with that, I had the closure I wanted. Thanks for letting me vent this, and please feel free to comment on what you've read or what you have experienced that may in some way relate to what I have gone through. (Its times like this that I love the boards the most) thanks again, -kent
  25. He has one big achievment... Hes an even bigger coward than oolong... Oh wait, not that bad, but for sure he is a weenie. Cutting off vegetas tail is his achievment to be remembered by. Otherwise, theres not much.
