2.
Originally posted by Shyguy The same day I put something up in general discussion about it ("Sad life of an otaku" anyone?) and right away people responded to it. It was right after that when I met N-Man, who turned out to be my first (and best) friend on the boards.
...... heh, I remember that. Only reason I read that thread was because I saw you'd started it. I didn't go into GD much...
  3. I've never really used swear words...cuss words...whatever they're called in your corner of the world. I've got my own little vocabulary of expletives, things that I know won't offend anyone. heh, and I love the weird looks I get from people....
  4.
Originally posted by Darkmoon erned his badges instead of out of sympathy.
Has Ash ever actually earned a badge?
  5. I'm sending this over to Games and Stories... Erhm...that doesn't exist anymore, does it? Well, whatever the RPG board is called nowadays... Enjoy yourselves.
  6. Look! A thread all about me! Well, kinda sorta. Sorry, N-man, I was going to type that thing up for you on wednesday night...but I had a bit of an unexpected event.... [Surprise party. :shifty: Let me just say, that for someone who likes to try and know what's going on, a surprise party is NOT the thing to do for their birthday...Eh, it was fun.] Shyguy's name would have been 511, I believe...his birthday's May 11. I remember Cera's unending cynicism over the months. I always knew she'd wind up a moderator. Funny, because I used to go on about how I would make an absolutely awful moderator. In fact...I seem to remember that I became a mod and Nerdsy hit 3000 on the same day... The night before, we were talking on EIM, and I was saying how I'd make an awful moderator b/c I loved argruing so much. And Nerdsy said that he was at 2999 posts and was going to wait until the next day to hit 3000. We talked again the next night, and I was a mod...lovely bit of irony there. I recall the strangest things... And actually, my first two posts consisted of about twenty questions each. Heh, Ginny answered every one of them and wanted more...great friend, she is. Heh, I just love nostalgia threads...

    Passion
Originally posted by BabyGirl Indeed, thank you for catching me on my folly. I was in a horrible mood last night, and that post just escalated it all...I was upset. I don't have a right to swear like I did, even though I was horribly pissed and agitated, and for that I apologize...
Some things hit close to home, don't they? I know how that goes...
  8. What are you passionate about? For me, it's my writing. Very few of you have read anything I've put any time or effort into. I've not posted any of it up--perhaps I will, some time. I'm rather uncomfortable posting unfinished works, simply because my writing style is constantly changing. Before letting others read, I try to finish a project all up, then go back and smooth things over so it reads well. Unfortunately, I can't ever stay on just one thing at once--there are too many ideas that need writing about! So I'll always have several projects going at once, and it takes even longer to finish one. I can spend hours on end writing poetry or a story. Words are my element. I can manipulate them well, and I love doing it. I can lose myself for days in whatever I'm writing--I try to do this only during vacations, but you can imagine some of the strange looks I get when I lose myself at school. I'm constantly surprised by my characters and how they turn out. You'd think, if I create them, I'd have some control over their actions, but that's so rarely the case. What are your passions?
  9.
Originally posted by phoenixflames Wow, alto clarinet. Not exactly a common one, now is it?
No, but I love it.
  10.
Originally posted by Justin Darn...I thought this thread would be another opportunity for me to flaunt my unending knowledge of Japanese history :( -Justin
Darn....I thought this thread would be another opportunity to read about your unending knowledge of Japanese history :(
  11. I play alto clarinet. My little quartet got a 1 on our WSMA solo ensemble piece, it was pretty cool.
  12. They're all palindromes...
  13.
Originally posted by Deus_Ex_Machina umm.... am I missing something here... :therock: I don't get why that bit helps...
The whole human pyramid thing.... As for me, I tried cheerleading one year and hated every moment of it.... But, I did try it...
  14.
Originally posted by quailman25 I just started a school of Digimon, and I want to have my friends at OtakuBoards there.
I don't mean to sound harsh... What do you mean by 'Digimon School'?
  15. Okay, folks, I'm gonna give this thread another day or so to straighten itself out.... quailman25, what exactly are you trying to accomplish here? I don't think anyone understands.....
  16. Jenna, m'gal, thou art amazing....

    Pets
Originally posted by Justin That's just obsessive...lol
I agree with you there... As for me... I don't mind cats, really...they're just fun to hate... Arrogant little creatures. For many years, my best friend in the world was an old dog named Trapper. He died a couple years ago--he was close to twenty.
  20. It intrigues me....I don't have the effort to understand all the possibilities--or whether some things even are that--but it does intrigue me. More as a potential story than anything else, I'm afraid...i do love writing time travel stories....
  21.
Originally posted by Shyguy People never walk up to talk to me, mainly because I am so tremendously shy. I hardly ever speak to anyone in my classes, and when people talk to me they usually ask me why I am so quiet. "How come you never talk to anyone?" "Why don't you ever say anything?" "Are you mute?" Aggh! The questions are so stupid, and people aren't very kind to me for some reason. I have to say that a few people here on the boards have helped me through some hard times, they know who they are, and they are the reason I come here in the first place. :)
I hear ya.
  22. Actually, yeah. About the same thing that you said. I was on the busride home... Two people--boy and girl, from two different schools--just started talking to me. The girl says, in this totally sweet, innocent voice: "Why are you sad?" That was probably one of the strangest things that ever happened to me. But she and the boy talked to me till my stop. I don't know why...but it was really sweet of them, and I've never quite forgotten it. And not quite a 'random' act of kindness...but a some one who is now a very dear friend of mine helped me through an incredibly hard time in my life a couple months ago. Life was pretty much awful...and then K had her accident (Many thanks to all who answered my prayer request for her, she is out of the hospital now.) and I was pretty much a wreck. I really don't know what I would have done without him.
  23.
Originally posted by Transtic Nerve There's one person so blame for it... he's in your mirror, why don't you go ask him what he did wrong.
That's a lovely quote...Heh. But yeah. How often have you had to do this?

    Love
Originally posted by D. Dark Cera, I think they mean romantic love, and that would Agape or Eros from your love (Not sure about agape, though).
Yeah, I understand that. I'm just saying that we're sort of limited by our language on how we express ourselves in that way. "Love" coversa a lot of ground and can be interpreted the wrong way. Who knows what love really is? Trust and respect and humor...When your eyes light up when you see someone...when you try to impress someone, hoping desperately that they'll like you...When it hurts to look at someone, knowing the don't feel the same way you do...when you'll do anything just to be near them...just to see their face, touch their arm, hear their voice...when you feel safe, knowing that they are near...when you close your eyes and imagine you are with them...when you can't wait to go to sleep, just so that you can dreama bout them...when you're jealous when they are with anyone--anyone--else...when you're afraid to admit it might be love...

    Love

Love is a lot of things. I love my friends. I love my parents. I love History. I love writing. I love Ice Cream. It sure as heck doesn't mean I feel the same way for my crush as I feel for ice cream. English has only got one word for love. Greek has several. Storgeo, Agape, Mania, Phileo, Ludos, Eros...anyway, something like that. I may be way off.....
