Not sure if this is really a spoiler, but...
The scene with him playing the organ with his tentacles was nice too... ^^; I just think they did a good job with the tentacles XD;;; it was rather convincing. Though, while we're at it, why is
Barbossa still alive? O_O not that I'm complaining. I did a lot of squeeing at him *heart*

The organ scene was, indeed, awesome. And I am referring to
the musical instrument
, not
the creepy, beating heart-in-a-box.
=] My friend turned to me the moment the movie ended and demanded to know how
Barbossa
was still alive. The best answer I could give her at the moment was that
they are about to embark on a journey to bring Jack back, so it seems strange to be perplexed by the unexpected non-dead state of the other pirate captain.
I was thrilled that he showed up, though. He is certainly more
evil than Davy Jones, and one of my favorite villains. I was really struck by how amazingly green that apple was, too, ha ha.

I myself know a number of jokes about the LDS/Mormon Church and truth be known I find them rather funny, especially since some of them require more extensive knowledge of the Church to fully understand why they are so funny.
And on that note (as well as the notes of Ace and his friend above), every organisation of religion that I am familiar with has jokes about it. Quite often they are so obscure that only a practicing member of the religion would find it amusing. (For example, there are actually books published with titles like "you might be Lutheran if..." They're written by Lutherans, sold by Lutherans, and bought and read by yet more Lutherans, all in the spirit of capitalism and good fun.) Of these small jokes within a group, some become well-known and find fame among those not within the group, simply because they deal with better-known (although no less or more true) stereotypes. And of course, the things mentioned in the jokes are almost always much more universal than the labels would lead you to believe.

Here's another from me. Make your mark heavy and dark. If you must erase, erase completely. The first time I took a Scantron test, I thought this direction was stupid. If you make your mark "heavy and dark," you can't erase completely! Years and years of standardised tests later, I embraced it as a motto. Don't live life halfway! Be bold, be brave, make a big noise--and if things go wrong, kill everyone who saw you try. =]

Umm...I just think they are suicidal...very suicidal. I also think that we should introduce them Chicken Soup where people live in orphanages and beg on streets. I can't wait to see the shocked look on thier faces when they realise that they spent months of thier life acting like a four-year-old. I think they don't appreciate how much was done for them.

there are no people like that in the bahamas so I wouldn't really have a solid opinion. From what I've seen they seem like people who need lives and will eventually committ suicide
You guys are harsh. In general, the people who identify with emo fashion and music are middle-class high schoolers experiencing love and heartbreak for the first time. Are they "veyr suicidal"? I doubt it. Everyone goes through rough times, everyone had moments when they feel left out, and everyone wants to belong to something. They identify with the music, they like the clothes--they aren't all about to kill themselves, any more than the goths of yesteryear were exclusively devil-worshipping psychopaths.
I asked how to make an AMV, not what is an AMV. I know what youtube is but thanks though. My sight is grouper. For some reason, Youtube doesn't work for me.^^
Corey didn't know what it meant, and he said so. I believe the explanation of what AMVs are was for his benefit, not yours. There are step-by-step guides out there, although offhand I couldn't tell you where. Anime Music Videos (dot org) has a number of guides, although I'd hope that would have been the first place you looked, so perhaps it doesn't have what you want. Good luck.

This is one of those threads that would really benefit from a poll. Anyway, I'd go with Pirate over ninja any day of the week. I feel almost obligated, after all the childhood hours spent playing "Let's Pretend" Peter Pan games. Sure, the Ninja Turtles were fun, but for sheer childhood terror and enjoyment, you couldn't beat Captain James Hook.
ohp, and there was a crocodile that lived under my bed so i refused to climb into it without using a long wooden board as a ramp to avoid getting eaten.
Did you lure him out of your room with candy and fizzy pop, and lock him in the garage for your father to find? When I was young, I didn't want to become a teenager because I thought it meant that I would have to get braces and work at McDonald's. It just seemed like all teenagers had that happen to them, so I thought it was something you had to do, kind of like kindergarten, or eating peas and carrots. (I did have braces for several years, but my first job was at a cafeteria, not Micky D's.)

I miss my old Digimon clan: GinnyLyn, Nerdsy, Ben, Shy, KariKamiya. Of those, though, KK is the only one who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth. I'm not sure if she even signed up again after the board switch (although if she did, and she chose a different username, that would explain how we all lost her in the shuffle.) Shy is still around here somewhere, orchestrating RPGs. Ben (and Nerdsy, occasionally) are on AIM, and we talk there. Ginny posts in her blog once in a blue moon, though she's netless at home. On that note, though, why doesn't Mimmi post here anymore? We miss Mimmi...

Yeah, this is one of those things--there are alternatives where OB's censor wouldn't be an issue, but the point of this forum is to make suggestions about OB. I would support a censor option/toggle. I'd elect to keep the words blocked for myself, but I understand why it's not an issue for some people.

On a different note, I really like fresh fruit. Like cherries. And kiwi. And plums. And good apples. With no fresh fruit, I would be very, very sad.

If you're going out for coffee, go to a local coffee shop, not some franchise like Starbucks. The atmosphere is so much nicer, and it's cool to know you're someplace that someone has put a lot of time and effort into. Lunch dates are a good idea, too. They're a good way to try out new restaurants, and it can be fun trying new things with someone new. (Even if you don't like it, it's easy to laugh about later.) Lunches are also less expensive than dinner items. Plus, you can always be, "I chose the restaurant, so you get to choose where to go next." And like people have said, you have more options in the afternoon than after a late dinner.

I have a hard time keeping track of a lot of people, especially because several people have changed their usernames multiple times. There's a whole group of people with one-syllable names who are all just a blur to me, even though they'e been here for a couple years now.

I hung out at theO because they had some seriously rockin' Digimon fan art. (This was back in the day, when there were really only two artists on the site at all.) I lurked around GinnyLyn's art for a while, and eventually contacted her; we became friends, and she convinced me to join OtakuBoards. March 2001, suckers. :p
Humans will never be satisfied with what they have, because the ultimate desire of your typical human is to want more then what they have.
I think that's silly. I'm often content with my life, or (on a more mundane level) the things I have. Announcing that "to always have more, better, newer stuff" is the Ultimate Desire of an entire species is a bit of a stretch. =] (Of course, I realise that many, many other people are making generalisations in this thread as well, and that the thread title lends itself to this sort of thing. I don't mean to pick on you in particular.) There's a lot of joy to be had in life. If you can't find it, you may be looking in the wrong places.
McDonalds makes me angry sometimes. It's really disgusting. It's marketing campaign is mainly planned to get kids addicted to their food at an early age. For Christ's sake, their spokesman is a clown! Then the happy meal has their little plastic toys that kids absolutely must have. And even now McDonalds is taking advantage of the nation's new concern over health by offering "healthy solutions" like f-ing apple sauce instead of fries in happy meals! That's absolutely ridiculous. [/COLOR']
The point of advertising is to make people want to buy your product or use your service. (Or, it seems in some cases, simply get the name brand to stick in your mind.) Blaming the McDonald's advertising department for the fact that kids like toys is kind of bizarre. Parents have an individual responsibility for the health and well-being of their children that corporations do not. As nice as it would be for fast-food franchises to be held accountable for the things they are indirectly responsible for, parents do have the final say in the food they buy for their children.

You can also prevent your paper from curling and wrinkling on you if you stretch it first. Get it wet, smooth it out, and carefully tape it down to your working surface (I reccomend a wooden cutting board--the kind you might use in the kitchen--but that's only because that's what I'm used to, and it's both sturdy and portable.) Or you can follow these directions, which are based on something a little more than Sara thinking to herself "I'm really sick of these stupid wrinkles, how can I fix them?" =]
Also, I just wanted to add to the discussion about dynamic storytelling[/B'] that I'm not sure if it can be done without predetermined characters that all the players know (Digimon Tamers: v2, for example, was a sequel with the same characters than in the original). What do you think? Can it be done with player-created characters?
I think it definitely can. It would be best with a smaller group?three to five people, probably, just so everyone can stay in tune with things. Tamers v2 was really nice because even in a large grooup, everyone was on the same level--we all knew the main characters, were familiar with the universe and what sorts of strange things were likely to happen, and we had an entire world of pre-made characters to choose from if we needed a throwaway, a plot device, or even a character who unexpectedly because a huge part of the story. The shared knowledge base was intregral, because while the writers didn't necessarily know each other well, they did know what they were writing about.
His art can be considered hentai, but it takes much longer than 15 minutes to do (at least I assume it takes him more than 15 minutes for GitS art).
I, er, don't think those were the particular fifteen minutes Avenged was referring to. -
