1.
Originally posted by Mitch Forrest Gump came up with it. That guy's my idol. :(
Yes, he did dsay that. Wha ta silly silly man. Didn't he run for a really long itme too, though? That's cool. But no. Life isn't a box of chocolates. Maybe I'm not getting the metaphor, but I don't think you never know what you're gonna get or whatever. One time, I was at the beach, and there were these 7 year old boys who wanted to be "surfer dudes", and they were making that Hang 10 sign or whateer it is, and they were like "DUDE! THAT'S GNARLY!" and one of them said that saying and the other kid said that it was "TOTALLY GNARLY". Hee hee.
2. Someone briefly described this book to me. It seems really interesting... But I'll probably never get a chance to pick it up.
3.
Originally posted by Nerdsy Also, one that I haven't heard a lot about is Junior Senior. I supposed not many people really would, as they are a techno/dance band, I guess.
WOTTDEFFOK? I don't know anyone who hasn't at least heard Don't Stop The Beat. I love JS. THey're one of my favorite bands. Dude, why do you want to make people listen to the bands they like? It's no big deal if they never listen to ANY emo in they're whole life, much less those specific bands. Making people listen to your music is never. What I do is drop the name of a band and if they're interested let them listen.. That's it..
4.
Originally posted by wrist cutter So many good quotes... "you stole my Jesus fish, didn't you?"
*makes satan ears with fingers and sticks out tongue like Elaine does* My Dad watched this show like no one else since the first season and still watches it every weeknight. I've grown to love it over the years, but sadly, I missed the Puerto Rican Day Parade episode, which will never be showed again. Damn it. I need to find someone who can get me a copy of that.
5. WTF? Who was the asshole who came up with that? No. It isn't.
6.
Originally posted by Semjaza Azazel I never got the attraction. It looked like a clump of old carpet with a beak and sounded like an old woman trying to poorly impersonate Steve Urkel. That's cute?
What sick individual would not want that? Hours of fun.
7. SECTION A In the following section, please answer each statement with one of five answers: A) Strongly Agree B) Agree C) Somewhat Agree D) Disagree E) Strongly Disagree 1) I find OtakuBoards rules easy to understand and follow. A 2) I feel that the staff at OtakuBoards understand their job and are capable of performing it appropriately. B 3) OtakuBoards is easy to navigate.B 4) OtakuBoards has a friendly atmosphere. B SECTION B Please try to keep your answers relatively short in this section. 5) How often do you visit OtakuBoards? Every day. 6) Do you feel that the rules are too strict/not strict enough/fine as they are? Um, I think that they are strict enough, but should the board expand more, they might need to become stricter. 7) Should we continue to uncensor the creative writing areas on OtakuBoards? Yes. 8) Would you rather a decentralized forum system on OB (more forums, less activity per forum) or a centralized forum system (less forums, more activity per forum)? Centralized. 9) Would you like to see a closer integration of myOtaku and OtakuBoards? No. 10) Are you signed up to myOtaku.com? Yes. 11) If you are not signed up to myOtaku.com, do you plan to sign up in the near future? N/A 12) Do you read Announcements at OtakuBoards? Yes. 13) Which single Category (Category, as opposed to individual Forum) do you spend most of your time visiting? Otaku Lounge. 14) Do you think that OtakuBoards should offer an in-built chat system as part of our service? If we included a chat, would you use it? I think it's a good idea, but I personally would not use it. 15) If we offered an "OtakuBoards Wireless" service that would be accessible via Internet-capable cellphones, would you use it? No, unless I had an internet capable cell-phone. We don't have many memebers, and I'm sure we have very few with net-capable phones, so I don't think this is a good idea... 16) When we offer a next generation version of OtakuBoards, should we continue to provide semi-regular community events in our Event Arena or a similar forum? HELL YES! 17) If you could add one new Category (Category, not Forum) to OtakuBoards, what would it be? *shrugs* No complaints here, I think we have the perfect amount of forums here. Maybe The introduction forum could return, but that's it. 18) If you could remove one Category from OtakuBoards, what would it be? Either .hack//SIGN or Sprite Central 19) If you could add anything to OtakuBoards (in terms of a new forum, a technical tool/feature, etc), what would it be? Nothing, at this point. 20) On a scale of 1-10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest), how would you rate your experience at OtakuBoards since you registered? TUH TUH TUH TEN!
8. It had gotten darker, well, darker even that it had been during their initial landing. The four bears settled for the night in a not-so-cozy bed of rocks. "Well, I guess we'll have to keep searching tomorrow. But someting seems very eerie to me..."Funshine yawned and hugged himmself tightly to keep himself warm. As each care bear fell asleep in their own time, the rocks around and under them dissapeared, leaving them asleep on the ground. Soon their surroundings changed drastically.... ----- Grumpy woke up with a start. "What..WHAT HAPPENED HEEEEEEERE?" He moaned loudly, so that the other three bears, still huddled together, woke up. As all ofthe bears stood up, shock appeared on each of their faces.... Bubbly was the first to speak. "Oh, wow! Look at that!"

12.
Originally posted by IceWolfEyes If it weren't for the social skills they learned, they would quickly die out. The females don't do anything except groom themselves
Are we talking about, uh Lemurs here? Gorillas? I think it'd be, uh, more ,uh, flowing if you said somehting like "the girls are obsessed with their looks" than "The females don't do anything except groom themselves".... Just a suggestion, it's not sarcastic, it just sota disoriented me... o_0 Preps is an overused phrase. Many peple I know who use it use it as a derogatory(sp?) way to say "people who aren't my friends" or "people who aren't me".. these are always people who think of themseves as "misfits", "rejects", or "goths".... It's a phase most people go through, using the word "prep", that is. Prep ius short for Preperatory School Attenders or something.. People who, uh, go to Prep School. I think it's in reference to the uniforms..o_0
13. I'm also prettied angry at Bush for his actions about the Environment.. Bush's Environmental Protection Agency has halted work on sixty-two environmental standards, the federal Department of Agriculture has stopped work on fifty-seven standards, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration has halted twenty-one new standards. The EPA completed just two major rules ¡Ý both under court order and both watered down at industry request ¡Ý compared to twenty-three completed by the Clinton administration and fourteen by the Bush Sr. administration in their first two years. I mean, really.... I'm glad to see that we're such a liberal forum here, but then again, probably 95% of the pepole here, uh, can't vote. 14. Everybody landed with a thump on a huge bed of stones, which stretched as wide as any Care-Bear could see. "It's so ho-o-o-o-ot!" Grumpy Bear offered immediately. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" Funshine said, though the green bear had done nothing. "Oh no, it id sad down here! I can feel it in the air!" Bubbly's eyes grew wide as he looked around at the barren desert, but soon he was back to his silly old self " Not to mention, there isn't a sign of any many bears but we bears here!!" Grumpy bear was, as usual, ver grumpy and quite distraught at his new surroundings. " Well, I can tell we're gonna have a grand old time here...." "Are you sure this is the right place?" Bubbly inquired as he spun around in mock amazement at his surroundings. Secret, who had been tossing a rock to himself, threw the round stone behind him and began forward, motioning the others to come with him. "Wait Secret! Before we do anything, we should discuss it as a group!" Funshine, that sweet but slightly condescending voice that no one could say no to. "Couldn't we..?" Bubbly bear began to speak, but stopped himself for fear of making a fool of himself in a serious situation, which he has done alll too many times before. "You know about Secret Bear's thing about the Care Bear Stare!" Funshine replied. Grumpily, of course, Grumpy Bear repeated the oh-so-repeated saying of Secret Bear's, "Do not try to do the Stare, if present not is every bear, yeah, yeah, yeah...." Bubbly threw his arms around Secret Bear to Secret Bear's great discomfort, and shouted, "Welp! Old Secret over here's right! Gotta start walkin', and stop talkin!" Bubbly said in his silly voice. All the bears present went along, in hopes in reuniting with the missing bears. "
15.
Originally posted by wiccansamurai Our school spends money on stupid things... There are hallways with no air-conditoining, which I know isn't too bad, but we have a 25,000$, completely useless, canoe (sp?) hanging from the cafetorium wall. What a waste of money, especially with them all being pissy about how their referendum (sp?) wasn't passed.
What's a cefetorium? A mixture of an auditorium and a cafetiria? Where do you put the tables when you are using it as the audtiorium Well, we don't have people walk us to the bathroom or whatever, and I don't think much has changed sincs 9/11 or columbine. Teachers don't care if you curse as long as you make a mild effort to avoid them hearing. No one's backpacks or lockers are searchedunless they're suspected for something serious. The worst part is the "up and down stariways"./. Our school is about 300 overcrowded, and due to some construction at one of the elementary schools we have 300 more, so we're 600 overpopulated. So, in the 3 minutes we have to travel accross the building in insane traffic, the teachers have made a useless effort to enforce the stairways as being strictly one direction. They're REALLY hevily enforced, and it's really annoying, because no one would be late if it weren't for those.. *sighs*....
16. Michael Jackson can't be trusted with anything..... LOOK AT THIS FACE!! But really folks, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'll say he's innocent until there's sufficient proof, not just EWWWW LOOK AT THAT WEIRDO!!!!
17. OOOOH!!!! I need to spend more time in this forum, or else I'll miss out on amazing things like this! Name: Bubbly Bear Color, I guess: Cuddly Blue Symbol: Two bubbles, onesmaller and hiding be hind the ohter. Stereotype: Sort of stupid, but strong and brave, though silly at times.
18. Well, let's look at what he's done for us: He's waged an illegal war on a third-world country. (I'm not saying I support Saddam Hussein or the regime that he created, and I think that there's a chance that what we did to Iraq might get better in the long run, if we play our cards right. The fact is, though, that the basis of the war in Iraq is that they were a threat to us. No proof of that. So it was an illegal war. Not to mention we were lied to about it.) We need to create at least 2 million jobs in the next year ( I forge tif that's the exact statistic, but it's close) or we'll experience the worst economy since the depression. Of course, Bush taught us that, in order to save trees, we have to CUT THEM DOWN! Naturally, we should give the wood to gigantic conglomerate companies so they can make even MORE money! Environment? Animals? Who needs them? Especially in the Ocean, why else would we pass bills that endager sendagered species even more? Fun times. Wow, I wish I had my Anti_Bush notebook with me, I have tons of useful statistics in there, this is all by memory... Well, as you might see, I don't like Bush to much. I don't find it admirable that he might lie to our country and go to war on that lie, pretending that it was truth. We'll see wat happens in 2004, because it seems that way too many people support him. Did you know that, in a recent study, 54% of people actually thought that we found WOMDs in Iraq? o_0 it's scary to think that that many people are so misled.
19. A Perfect Circle = The death of Twiggy. His HAIR!!! Actually, i like the band, I just miss twiggy's old hair. I don't own any of their albums, but enough of my friends are into them that I have heard most of their songs.
20. TNMBC stuff, and an iPod. I already know I'm getting the iPod, but I probably have to pay for some of it myself, because It's like, 300 bucks, which is 2x what my parents would spend on me for Christmas usually. I think most people's parents spend about 200 bucks on their children in their preteens, so I think my parents are expecting me to chip a hundred bucks i, especially because they are chipping in an extra 50 that they normally wouldn't.
21. *shrugs* I liked it. I thought it was well thought out, though I haven;t read the book... It was probably better. The realy reason I liked it was because the girl was pretty attractive..*shrugs*
22.
Originally posted by Leh No, not really... if we didn't have an army, another nation, for sure, would attack us. Common sense.
I understand that, and, if we didn't have an army, our nation would be in very poor shape. But there's no reson to say that she'd be dead. Also, she's not hating the army because it defends us, she hates it because it's taken her husband away from her to wage an illegal war.
23. Why would she be dead? We haven't had any recent attacks that or army has had to protect us from, except for 9/11 etc, which did happen and which our army didn't defend against. I'm not saying that I hate the army, but that's a stupid thing to say. I'm totally moving to El Salvador. No army there, they're completely nuetral and have never had a war. No money either, but I'll work around it.
24. *shrugs* If it's seriously affecting your life or damaging your body in a dramatic way, I'd say stop, but I mean, I've been burning for a few months and it's no big deal¡½no permanent damage, it's just something I do when I'm confused or angry, which is only maybe once or twice avery 2 weeks. Plus they're small, I use incense(sp?) sticks. If it's changing your life for the worse, I think it should stop, but if it's not really a negative thing, I don't know, it's up to you. If you want to stop, then, um, don't do it anymore. I think you are still liveing with your parents because, uh, you're pretty young, so if you can't do it on your own get your parents' help.
25. Transtic hit the nail on the head. Actually any Jim Henson things, but Fraggle Rock was so amazingly happy! How could you not love it? Oh, and Eureka's Castle. I can't find any sites or images from Eureka's Castle though. Meh. Edit: It's actually Spelled Eureeka's Castle, with two "e"s, so that's why I said there were no sites for it.
