Sara Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 On the other hand, it may cut down on the endless barrage of What does otaku mean threads. ::looks around:: What?!
Guest Zeh Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Change it back to absolutegameboy.com... you know you want to Adam... As much as i loved AGB (Gaming over Anime anyday!) you gotta keep the name. "TheOtaku.com" and "Otakuboards.com" are the 2 fastest things i can type... heck, i can type "otakuboards.com" faster than my 4-letter name. If i said anymore it would sound stupid, i could only repeat what others said.. Sara does have a point...
Deedlit Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 No, no, no, no, NO! :bawl: The name fits perfectly! Don't change it! I've gotten too used to it....
wrist cutter Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003
Originally posted by James theOtaku.com is a brand that has been built up over a period of years. It's become a major name amongst the anime community on the Internet; and one of the world's premiere anime sites. To change "theOtaku.com" would be like changing "Nintendo".
GEEZ. Anyway, if you think "theotaku" is too hard to remember/pronounce, try having a site titled "jikannohizumi" -_-
TheShinje Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 I don't think the Otaku should change its name for various reasons, Other anime websites are all the same. link to each other, and it gets tiring after a while. (although episode downloads are cool) Otaku is a breath of fresh air. theOtaku.com should stay the way it is, it looks like most people agree.
Justin Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Keep it as is. If the joker can't pronounce 'otaku', he needs to get off the Internet and go back to school. -Justin
Sara Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Heck, I still probably don't pronounce it right. :p
Chaos Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Unless you're going to change it to 'JVF.com', don't even think about it.
Ryan Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Don't change it. People are already used to it. Enough said...
Red Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Keep it as theOtaku. Not much else to say except it might lose it's fan base if the name is changed. http://www.eliteisthegreatestwelovehimsomuch.com is my only suggestion. ^_^;
Lady Asphyxia Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 Hey! I clicked that link, Elite, and it goes nowhere >.<' Keep it as the Otaku. It's easy to remember, and is 'snazzy', or 'funky' as Lilac Oranges would say.
Heaven's Cloud Posted February 18, 2003 Posted February 18, 2003 ..::using his best Clint Eastwood drawl::..The real question is how lucky do you think you are? Can you change the domain before I pull the trigger? That is agood question, isn't it? So do you feel lucky, punk? In other words please don't change the name, pleease, puleaaase, puh-lease!
Hinata Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 Stick with success. The name s great and simple. Those who aren't true OTAKU's will never understand. Besides I love it... So leave it as it is...PLEASE!!!
Frankie Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 Ok... Heres my look on it. I have been here since Otakuboards V2 And the reson i kept remembering this place AND theOtaku.com was because of its name exactly. I never did bookmark this place or theOtaku.com.... till about v4 or somewhere aroudn there, because i easily memorized the name. Otaku was the most uniqe word i had come across back and the beginning of my stay. It stuck.... and as you can see im still here.. *Still wonders why* And i was slow at getting to the No Life rank i admit but still. Thats not the point here at all.. .anyways I vote.... NO
