But from what you've either read or heard...
I wonder who would you classify as a good leader!!!
By leader I maen like Presidents, Kings, Queens, and person with strong political power...that sort of thing..

This is why I disagree with some aspects of politics. Leaders can and will get millions and millions of people to fight and die for them in a war, whilst they are in some the most heavily fortified locations. Take, for example, The queen of England. In world war II she was one of the most defended things in England. Why should 400 or so people decide the fate of millions? Sorry this is slightly off topic but I thought I would take this time to say that

Well although leaders do have people to protect them from war..The people CHOOSE TO FIGHT. They don't have to fight for their country or leader if they don't want to (in some countries at least), but I'm not a political expert and also these people who do fight in wars are not just fighting for the leaders protection but for the protection of their nation, state family friends whoever they wish to protect!!!!! That's the main purpose of the Armed forces...not for the leaders protection( that is except for those who are the personal body guards of the leader!!!!!!!

SORRY TO GET OFF SUBJECT!!!!

You people have no sence of religion....
I'll take that as a compliment :)

ANyway, some of my favorite leaders are ironically ones who were against each other during WWII... FDR (Franklin D. Roosevelt/US President) and Admiral Yamamoto (Leader of the Japanese Naval fleet/Responcible for the attack on Pearl Harbor)

Others I like are and leader of any civil rights movement. Anyone who supports gay rights, race rights, religious rights, women's rights, and all the good stuff...

Some of my favorite leaders of this country would be Abraham Lincoln, Woodrow Wilson, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F Kennedy, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Bill Clinton... I also liked George Bush Sr. to some extent.

That's starting something that needn't be started here again. So, I'd appreciate it if you'd stop before someone else says something arrogant. Thank you, buh-bye.

Some of my favorite leaders would be:
Admiral Yamamoto
Julius Ceasar(Oh, GG, back then it was just Rome. No Italy.)
General Sun Tzu
General Cao Cao
Uesugi Kenshin

Note that I base mine on their effectivness in battle. Not their politics.

#1 I understand that you want to put GOD into this but I was talking about earthly leaders not spiritualleaders (although JESUS was an imporant influence on politics during his time)...and I don't mean that to sound condesending but religion was not the name of my topic and not to say that I don't love GOD cause I do and I believe in him....But please don't start any arguements in here....or bash what other ppl say.....

THANX!!!!!

It depends on what kind of situation the leader is in. If it is in war, then a Prime Minister like Neville Chamberlain is no good, as we saw in the years leading to the war. Then there was Winston Churchill, who was really good in war, but rubbish in peace.

Whoever they are, they must be strong and focused.

My favourites are:

Martin Luther King;
Franklin Delano Roosevelt;

Can't think of anymore just yet

Let's see...

Adolf Hitler (Leader of the Socialist party in Germany)
Pierre Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada during the 60's...you know...the one who gave people the finger, and invoked the War Measures Act)
Mao Zedong (Leader of Red China)

That's about it...

Come to think of it, Lenin was pretty cool, too.

Could someone please fill me in on how Bill was a good pres. I was to young to understand how he was good. And the only things I really know about him are His scandle and him pardoning people for money.

Some people don't believe in religion...
*claps* Thank you, muchly... I was going to post something, but you stole the thought from me.... came out the way I would of put it.... but uh, I would have posted something like, since when can an inanimate object of the Christian (and other) faith be a leader?... oh wait, I just did.

But yeah, a lot of people don't believe in God, or retaining a religion period.... so.... it's not like it offends me, but the way you put it was arrogent...... ok, I'm rambling.

Yeah! Napoleon! Seize, conquer, get thrown out, and come right back! The dude rocked the 1700's! :wigout:

I am not sure what a good leader is, do you mean a leader who has my respect or just a good overall leader???
Here is Both

top 5 leaders
Adolf Hitler-used the bad economy to his advantage. He built a small empire by creating hate in a down trodden people. He nearly accomplished an insane goal and almost wiped out an entire faith of people in Europe

Alexander the Great-possibly the greatest leader ever, conquered the known world by the time he was 23

Julius Ceaser- there is no need to talk about Ceaser, He established the greatest city ever. An entire empire was built around one city...

Thomas Jefferson-he should be known as the founder of democratic societies...no country would be democratic without his ideas that were borrowed from an incredible amount of sources.

Joseph Stalin-The exact opposite of Jefferson...although he didn't found communistic ideals he did show the only effective way to rule a coomunist nation is by using fear

Most respected leaders

Ieyasu Tokugawa-He was the wiliest leader of all time in my opinion

Thomas Jefferson

Abe Lincoln- He rejoined the union, freed the slaves, and is the greatest American president of all time

Henry 8th- Made protestantism known, because of him religious tolleration will eventually occur...hundreds of years later

Nelson Mandella
Martin Luther King Junior- I cannot write enough about these two men. There efforts were among the most noble of any human on earth
