Sign Up Digimon: The other Worlds. [PG-13 for V, L, and poss S]
GuyYouMetOnline replied to Frankie's topic in Theater
I'm always up for a good Digimon RPG. Oh, I noticed you left Destiny out of the crest/digiegg list, Blanko. I don't know if there's a reason, or if you just forgot about it. If it's okay, I'd like to use Destiny as my character's crest, as none of the others fit her. If that's not all right, please tell me. Name: Vaxla Intunecat Age: 17 Gender: Female Personality (I know it's not on the sign-up form, but I feel that it's necessary in order to help prevent people from having Vaxla say and do things that she wouldn't): Vaxla's the kind of person that doesn't seem very nice. In fact, she can seem to be downright cruel. However, if you take the time to get to know her, you'll see that she has some very good reasons for why she does the things she does. Vaxla is not a team player. Despite the fact that she's on her school's gymnastics team (note: she's a high-school senior), she doesn't like working as a team. She goes solo whenever possible, but is surprisingly willing to work with others when (but only when) it's absolutly necessary. And when she does, she tends to be very hard on those others. Working with her can be a depressing experiance if you're not prepared. However, she never gives meaningless criticizm (sp?). She always tells people how to improve, but this tends not to make people feel any better. Vaxla is as hard on herself as she is on others. She always pushes herself to her limits, and does not tolerate mistakes. If she does something wrong, she's going to do it until she gets it right. She is not one who is satisfied with anyting less than one's best effort. It's the reason why she's one of the top high-school gymnysts in the country. She simply does not tolerate anything less than someone's absolute best. Digivice Color: Black and purple Digimon: Fresh: Paomon In-Training: Shaomon Rookie: Labramon Champion: Dobermon Ultimate: Cerberumon Mega: Anubismon Crest: Destiny Is this all right? -
Vaxla had a few things on her mind as she walked. A lot had happened since she'd begun working with the Resistance, and none of those occurancs were exactly everyday events. There was this Luca Blight character, and the creature Yuber that Blight had sent to kill her. There was the demon Gakana that had attacked her. There was that Black Knight thing that had kidnaped Namia, and that had been in posssion of the Pinnacle. There was the one who'd possessed the Omrigan. Too many beings of power and weapons of power had made appearances in the span of a few days for it to be coincidence. And then there were things like Tanken's amnesia that served to further complicate matters. Vaxla couldn't care less about Tanken's situation. He would recover; Vaxla was confident of that. What worried Vaxla was the rest, the frequency of appearances of creatures and weapons of power. She suspected that even Gakana, who did the work of no other being, was involved in the whole situation somehow. But not even Marich could afford to throw away so many creatures and weapons of power without a reason. No, he was up to something. The only problem was that Vaxla had no idea what that 'something' was. She was jolted out of her musings when someone dropped out of a tree in front of her. His face was concealed, and he held twin swords. Vaxla quickly drew her poles. "You are attempting to interfere with the plans of Deus Marich," the man said. "I have been ordered to kill you. I would have killed you while still hidden, but that would be a cheap victory. I am an honorable man; I kill only as the result of a fair fight." "In that case, I''ll give you one," Vaxla told him. "We will confine this to combat with normal weapons. Agreed?" "Agreed. Shall we begin?" "Certainly," Vaxla replied. "Let's do this."
-
OOC: I have to agree with Rhym here. there've been a few too many super-powerful opponents, and I do feel that the whole weapons of power thing is getting a bit out of hand (which is why the one Vaxla's about to go after only has one power: to nullify the abilities of other weapons of power). I don't mind the memory loss thing, though. ---------------------------------------------------------- As Vaxla was on the way out of the camp, she ran into Cairo. Cairo was quick to notice that she was carrying her pack. "Going somewhere?" "I have business to attend to," Vaxla told him. "I will return when I have completed my task. Please emphasize to Jadou that this camp needs to be moved before Marich sends a force here strong enough to wipe everyone out. Oh, and tell Tanken to keep the PInnacle with him at all times." The mention of tanken's name seemed to give Cairo pause. "Is something wrong?" Vaxla asked. "It's Tanken. He's... he's lost his memory. He doesn't remember anything. He doesn't remember our language, he doesn't remember who we are, he doesn't even remember Namia." "He lost his memory," Vaxla repeated. There was a brief pause, then it hit her. "I should have seen that coming," she admitted. "My theroy is that Tanken's amnesia was caused by improper use of the Pinnacle's power. I should have guessed this would happen when he collapsed after destroying an opponent with a vastly inferior sword of power. Improper use of a weapon of power has many potential negative effects, one of which is memory loss." "Is there a way to restore his memory?" Cairo asked. "If I'm right about the reason, then his memory should eventually return on its own. This can be accellerated by seperating tanken from the Pinnacle, but the restoration of memory will eventually occur even if this is not done. Also, certain stimuli, unique to the person and therefor unpredictable, may accellerate the process. Of course, if I'm wrong about the cause, then I don't know anything about the possible restoration of his memory. Now, I'm afraid I must be going. Please emphasize the danger of keeping the camp here to Jadou, and tell Namia and the others what I just told you about Tanken's amnesia. Farewell." And with that, Vaxla walked on, leaving the camp and heading towards the resting place of the Arigas.

When there is an attempt on one's life, one becomes extremly paranoid, and extremly cautios. After the second attempt, one looks for protection. The problem is that by this point, one is so paranoid that virtually everyone is seen as a potential enemy. Selna Kastola knew what that was like. After all, it was her situation. She'd survived the first two attempts on her life by sheer luck. Not wanting to take any chances, she went to one person she knew she could trust: her sister Kana. As a professional bodyguard, she was a logical choice. Unfortnatly for Selna, Kana had just accepted an assignment, and would be unavalible for a couple weeks. But Kana wasn't willing to leave her sister unexpected. Kana directed Selna to a mercenary named Treana Alkataloa. A very honorable merc, Treana would remain loyal to whoever bought her services, no matter what. She was, for a merc, very trustworthy. She was also very, very good. All of which made her a good choice for a bodyguard for Selna. "You sure you have no clue why someone wants you dead so badly?" Treana asked Selna over dinner one night. It was about a month since Treana had been hired, and she'd proven herself to be worth the price of her services. Over the month she'd been Selna's bodyguard, there had been an increasing number of attempts on Selna's life, but Treana had stopped every single one of them. "That's the fourth time someone's tried to kill you this week," Treana continued. "I've never seen anything like this before. Obviously you did something to piss someone off." "As I've said before, I don't have any clue about why these people keep trying to kill me," Selna replied. "I'd love to know, but I can't think of anything. I mean, I know I'm pretty wealthy, but it's not like killing me will let someone get their hands on any money or anything." "There are people who would try to kill you for it anyways," Treana told her, "but that's definatly not the case here. It all comes down to money. Hiring so many men to come after you has got to be expensive, sepecially since I've taken out everyone who's tried to kill you. When that kind of thing happens, the price goes up. If this was for money, it would have stopped after the first three or four attempts. No, there's some other reason. The only problem is that neither of us has a clue about what the reason is." "I just wish I knew why this is happening." "As do I. Knowing the reason is the first step in solving the problem. But for now, we have to think about hiring additional protection for you." "Why?" Selna asked. "You've been more than a match for everyone who's tried to kill me." "True, but my skill is not the problem. Sooner or later, whoever's behind this is going to figure out that there's only one of me. When that person does, then he or she is going to get the idea of sending two or more men at the same time. If a group splits into two and properly spaces their attacks, the second group will be able to get you while I'm busy with the first. The only way to prevent that is to hire addiional help." "I don't think Kana's on a job right now," Selna said. "We can go over to her place tomorrow and talk to her about it." "Yes. And there are a couple others I'd like to think about hiring, as well. We can't afford to take any chances, because there's someone out there who'll probably stop at nothing to see you dead." Selna nodded. "I know. But let's not talk about that right now. I prefer to relax over dinner, and thinking about the people who want me dead just does not help me relax." "I can understand that," Treana replied. "All right, let's talk about something else. I assume you heard those people earlier today. You know, the merchants who were talking about the deaths in the Kalokat mountains?" "Do we have to talk about death?" "What, does that hit a little too close to home?" "An unexplained upswing in the number of dead merchants and travelers who use the Klao Pass through the Kalokat range, causing additional protection to be hired by those making the crossing? Yes, it is a little too similar to my own situation for me to be comfortable discussing it." Treana chuckled. "All right. What do you want to talk about?" "Well, earlier I was thinking about..." Well, there's the basic story. Now, let's move on, shall we? This is a fantasy-type RPG, which means that there's magic and stuff, and weapons like swords and bows and all that, but nothing modern. Everything else is best explained in the context of signing up, so here's the sign-up form. Oh, I'll allow someone to play as Kana. I'll also allow someone to play as Selna, but you have to PM me first if you want to play as her (i'l be playing as Treana). You can also play as a bad guy if you want to. Here's the form (Note: If you want to be a race other than human, PM me): Name: Age: The character's age should be appropriate for whatever job the character has (see below). No matter what, try not to go below 18. Gender: Appearance: Job: What your character does. Obviously, two choices are a bodyguard for Selna and a hired protector for travelers or merchants using the Klao Pass, but your character can really have almost any job. If you're going to be a bad guy, this is where you put that. Do not confuse 'Job' with 'Class'. Class: A character's class indicates what that character is able to do. For example, a Warrior-class character would be good at fighting with melee weapons (things like swords), as well as hand-to-hand combat. Archers are skilled with bows (obviously), while mages use magic (duh). Elementalists have the powers of one particular element, and are usually more skilled with weapons than mages, though usually not as good as warriors. Of course, a class can be pretty much anything, so don't think you're confined to that list. I'll tell you if your character's class is not okay. Oh, this is also where you list any weapons your character can use. Depending on what you choose for your class, you may need additional categories (for example, if you're an Elementalist, you need to specify the element). More than one person can have the same class, but I would like a variety. Personallity: This doesn't have to be too detailed if you don't want it to be. It just has to be enough to give everyone a basic idea of what your character is like. Bio: Your character's life. This is optional, because having a set bio limits character development options. You can have it if you want it, but you can leave it out if you want to. Here's my sign-up: Name: Treana Alkataloa Age: 27 Gender: Female Appearance: At 6 ft. 4 in. in height, Treana is quite tall. She has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She's in very good shape, and it shows. She also happens to be the most beutiful woman you're likely to see. She's perfectly proportioned (which does not mean the ridiculously inflated breasts and other such things that seem to be in demand), and it's all-natural. Job: Treana is a mercenary currently hired as a bodyguard for Selna Castola. Class: Um... I don't really have a name for it. See the Bio. Oh, she uses a pair of metal poles as weapons. Forged by a magesmith, they are capable of withstanding intense heat. She keeps them strapped to her back, and she is very good with them. Personality: Smart, quick-thinking, and cunning, Treana is an extremly dangerous person. She's quick to come of with a plan, and her plans are normally very good ones, the only problem being that they're frequently too complex for others to follow. Which isn't that big of a deal, because Treana prefers to work alone. However, she is willing to work with others, and will not hesitate to do so when necessary. She's pretty secrative. Despite this, she comes accross as a very trustworthy person, and she is. Bio: Treana doesn't remember anything of her life before the age of 21. All that she remembers is a series of attempts to kill her parents. At least, it seems like it was her parents. It might very well have been Treana who was the target. No matter who the attackers were after, these memories are very strong, and they are the reason for Treana's dislike of humans in general. At the age of 21, another awoke in Treana's mind. This other mind was that of a very powerful dragon, Akansola. Akansola's mind was strong enough that, had she wanted to, she could have easily destroyed Treana's mind. But she didn't. Instead, Treana and Akansola have an arrangement worked out. Either mind can be in control of the body at any time, and they swich which mind is in control depending on the situation. Akansola's awakening came with more than just her mind. When she is in control of Treana's body, she is able to utalize her fire-based abilities. Also, the pair is able to change the body from human to dragon. EIther mind can be in control of either body. Treana normally controls the human form, while Akansola usually controls the dragon body. The dragon form is not exactly your typical dragon. It's a lot more humanoid that most dragons. It's still easily recognised as a dragon, and it does not have the appearance of being any kind of hybrid. The basic body shape is just more human-like than the body shape of other dragons. Of course, it has everything that other dragons have (you know, things like claws, wings, tail, that kind of stuff). I think that's everything. PM me with any questions.

One character I became very fed up with is Leo Stenbuck from Zone of the Enders. Great game, but poor main character. Leo's the kind of guy who's unwilling to kill even his worst enemies (he actually wants to save rival mech pilot Viola at one point in the game). He'll go through this huge battle, but when the enemy mech is defeated, he starts throwing a tantrum about how he's not willing to finish the job. I really hate that kind of thing. It was so much fun to kick the crap out of him in ZOE2.

RPG Rebirth: The Age of Dragons (PG-13 V,L,S)
GuyYouMetOnline replied to Vilearchangemon's topic in Theater
OOC: I just realized I gave my character the wrong name. Her name is not Vaxla Intunecat (the name of a character I've used in other RPGs). Her name is Treana Alkantom (the dragon's name, Akansola, is still the same). Sorry for the mix-up. --------------------------------------------------------------- It should have felt odd, having another in her head with her. But Akansola's presence did not feel strange. It felt completly normal to share her brain with the mind of a dragon. It was probably because Treana knew no other way. Aside from a few seemingly random flashes of violence, Treana's only memories were of the time Akansola had been in her head. Treana supposed that it was Akansola's awakening which had caused her to lose her memory, but she didn't care. If the few flashes she did have were any indication, her past was not something she cared to remember. Besides, it didn't matter. The past was past, and brooding upon lost memories accomplished nothing. Besides, Treana usually had more important matters to occupy her mind with. Treana was a mercenary, the best there was. Which meant that she got hired for the hard stuff. Tasks such as the one she was currently assigned to. Her job was to kill a group of 'smuggler-smugglers', people who got wanted criminals away from the law. Their group was more than a match for any human. But technically, Treana didn't qualify as 'human'. -
As Vaxla approched Jadou's tent, the two guards flanking the doorway stepped in her path. "What is your business?" one of them asked. "My name is Vaxla Intunecat, and I must speak with Jadou," Vaxla said. "Please let me pass." "You must leave all weapons with us," the guard instructed. "Now that I can't do," Vaxla replied. "My poles I have no problem with leaving, but I'm not letting this sword out of my sight." "Then you will not be permitted entry," the guard said. "We cannot take the risk that you mean him harm." "If I meant him ill, I wouldn't be here," Vaxla told the guard. "The enemy knows this location. If you want to protect Jadou, let me tell him to get his ass the hell away from here." And with that, she barged right past the guards and into Jadou's tent. When Jadou saw her, he stood and faced her. "Vaxla! How nice of you to come! I've never had the time to actually meet you. I've simply been too busy. But I've heard of everything you've done for us, and I'd like to thhank you for your id. I-" Vaxla cut him off. "There's no time for this. Tanken and I, along with a few others, just fought off a very powerful enemy. He was working for Marich, and he weilded the Omrigan, a weapon of power. Marich has access to weapons besides the Paragon, and he's not afraid to use them against us. But that's not the main worry. "Marich knows this location, Jadou. You need to move, and now. Marich will undoubtably send a force capable of wiping us out if we give him enough time. don't stay here any longer than it takes to pack up, because there's no telling when he'll attack. "Oh, one more thing. I'm going to be gone for a few days. I am going to aquire a weapon capable of facing the Paragon. Do not worry about losing me. I will find you when I have the weapon. Until then, farewell." And with that, she turned and left.
-
When the opponent was defeated, Tanken passed out. The others were all over him, but Vaxla was not. She knew that he was still alive; if he was dead, the Omrigan's weilder would not have been. So Vaxla let the others take care of Tanken. She remained at the site of the battle, searching for the defeated foe's weapon. A blade of power, such as the Omrigan, was needed to unlock the Arigas, a weapon with only one power. The Arigas could nullify other weapons of power, and would allow Vaxla to face Marich and the Paragon. The Omrigan was not powerful enough to let her do so, but it could unlock the Arigas. Even with her ability to sence the energies of the Omrigan, it took Vaxla a couple minutes to find it. The weapon was heavily damaged. It appears that the Omrigan and its weilder were melding, Vaxla noted. they were becoming one. Fortunatly, the process was not quite complete. It was almost done, but not quite. A good thing, because if it had been totally completed, the Omrigan's power would be gone, making it useless to me. Fortunatly, that is not the case. It may be weakened, but it can still unlock the Arigas. After finding the Omrigan, Vaxla returned to her tent and packed her supplies, then exited the tent. She had one more thing to do before leaving. She had to speak with Jadou. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Hope that's all right, 0ber (you didn't specify what happened to the Omrigan after Citain's defeat).
-
OOC: Just to be sure it's clear, Vaxla doesn't know Citan's name, so I'm not going to be using it in my posts. Also, be sure you don't have Vaxla use it unless she finds out what it is. ---------------------------------------------------- Vaxla's ability to sense the Omrigan's power and anticipate the weilder's attacks was serving her well. She knew it would, but what she didn't expect was that she would be putting up more of a fight than Tanken. Tanken, after all, was in posession of the Pinnacle, a sword of power superior to the Omrigan. He sould have easily been able to defeat their opponent by himself. But he hadn't. "God dammit, Tanken!" Vaxla shouted as she dodged another blast from the Omrigan. "What the hell are you waiting for? Use the goddamn Pinnacle, for Christ's sake!" "What the hell do you think I'm doing?" Tanken shouted back. Vaxla distracted their opponent with several dark energy blasts"Jesus Christ, Tanken! The thing is a fucking sword of power! And it's superior to this guy's weapon! Use it!" "And how exactly am I supposed to do that?" "You're not," their opponent said. The Omrigan's weilder was in the process of launching a wide-area energy blast that would have kiled Tanken had he gotten it off. Instead, there was a loud noise, and the Omrigan weilder went flying backwards into the nearest tree. Using the power of the Omrigan, he was able to soften the impact enough to not be harmed by it. He also seemed unharmed by what it was that had hit him. Understandable, since Halthan had had to set Reason on its lowest setting to eliminate the risk of hitting Vaxla or Tanken. As Halthan and Cairo moved in, followed quickly by Namia as soon as she arrived, Vaxla fell back with Tanken. "You have to use the Pinnacle," she repeated. "If you don't know how to, then give it to me. I'll give it back after the battle, but we won't be able to beat that guy unless the Pinnacle is in the hands of someone who knows how to use its power. We don't have time to argue about this, Tanken. If you don't know how to use the PInnacle's power, then give it to me."

Sign Up Rebirth: The Age of Dragons(PG-13, V,L,S)
GuyYouMetOnline replied to Vilearchangemon's topic in Theater
Name: Vaxla Intunecat Race: Dragonborn Class: Vaxla is basically in a class of her own. Nobody else has her unique mix of talents and abilities. She is an expert at weapon combat, and her weapons of choice are two metal poles which she has dubbed the Rigas. However, Akansola (read the rest of the sign-up, and you should understand) prefers using her abilities, all of which are fire-based. Age: 27 Description: At 6 ft. 4 in. in height, Vaxla is quite tall. She has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She's in very good shape, and it shows. She also happens to be the most beutiful woman you're likely to see. She's perfectly proportioned (which does not mean the ridiculously inflated breasts and other such things that seem to be in demand), and it's all natural. She doesn't even use makeup. Element: Vaxla has none, but Akansola's (again, keep reading) is fire. Weapon of Choice: The Rigas, a pair of metal poles forged by a fire mage. They are capable of withstanding extreme heat. Magical Speciality: Again, Vaxla has no magical ability, but Akansola's (keep reading) would be powers of destruction. Personality: Smart, quick-thinking, and cunning, Vaxla is an extremly dangerous person. She's quick to come of with a plan, and her plans are normally very good ones, the only problem being that they're frequently too complex for others to follow. Which isn't that big of a deal, because Vaxla prefers to work alone. She is extremly antisocial. She does not make idle conversation, and if you make any advnces toward her (I'm talking romantic/sexual here), you'll probably end up missing your reproductive organ. She'll work with others if doing so will significantly aid her, but other than that, she's always seen by herself (or as close to that as she can get. Again, keep reading) Bio: Vaxla doesn't really know anything for her life before the age of 21. All that she remembers is a series of attempts to kill her parents. At least, it seems like it was her parents. It might very well have been Vaxla who was the target. No matter who the attackers were after, these memories are very strong, and are the reason for Vaxla's dislike of humans in general. It was at the age of 21 that Vaxla first became aware of the presence of another inside her. The dragon within her, while weak when it first awakened, quickly gained power. It is among the most powerful dragons there are, which would have caused problems for anyone else, because this dragon has a very real contempt for humans. Which means that it is very much in favor of Vaxla's antisocial tendencies. They have formed a partnership unlike any other (the rest fits better in the dragon part of the sign-up). Dragon's Name: Akansola (yes, the Akansola I mentioned earlier) Dragon's Gender: Female Description of Dragon: Akansola is very large, even for a dragon. She is colored a brilliant red, the red of fire. When seen from the right angle and in the right light, she appears to be made of fire, an extremly convincing illusion. Thei, coupled with her size, unusualy sharp claws, and unnaturally glowing eyes, make for a more intimidating form than almost all other dragons. Dragon Type: Akansola is a fire dragon (bet you saw that one coming) Personality of Dragon: Akansola sees herself as a superior creature, and she has the power to back it up. But it's not just herself; she believes that dragons are the greatest of the world's creatures. This does not mean she feels animosity toward other creatures; for the most part, she pities the lesser beings. Humans are the exception. She despises humans. Well, most humans. Vaxla she's actually taken a liking to, mainly because of Vaxla's ownpreference for isolation and general dislike of other humans. This is fortunate for Vaxla, because not only is Akansola very powerful and very strong physically, but she also has a very strong mind. If she wanted to, she could easily destroy Vaxla's mind completly. Instead of destroying Vaxla's mind, which would resualt in Vaxla ceasing to exist and Akansola gaining full control of her body, Vaxla and Akanasola have formed a partnership (that's not quite the right word, but I don't know a better one). One mine is in control, while the other is essentially an observer (note: this should be obvious, but the two minds are capable of communicating with each other, and none but the two of them can hear this mind-to-mind communication). Either mind, Vaxla's or Akansola's, can control either body, human or dragon. They have guidelines as to which mind should be in control when, but Vaxla is normaly in control when in human form, and Akansola normally gets control of the dragon form. Dragon's Emergence: In order to use Akansola's power while in human form, Akansola must be in control. Even when in human form, she seems non-human. She is non-human in the sound of her voice, she is non-human in her thoughts and conclusions, she is non-human in her movements, and she is even non-human in the way she stands. Hope that's okay. tell me if I need to change anything. -
Sign Up Digimon: Rising (PG13 for V,L, and S if you want it)
GuyYouMetOnline replied to GuyYouMetOnline's topic in Theater
Neuvoxetere has an incomplete sign-up. What a surprise. Well, as usual, I'll need you to finish your sign-up, but you're used to that, aren't you? Oh, and thanks for providing the picture of NeoMegidramon. -
Sign Up Digimon: Rising (PG13 for V,L, and S if you want it)
GuyYouMetOnline replied to GuyYouMetOnline's topic in Theater
Here's my sign-ups (I'm playing two characters): Name: NeoSaberLeomon Attacks: Heat of the Flame: A wide-area spray of intense flame, ideal for dealing with speedy opponents or large groups of foes. Hellfire: A column of fire erupts from the ground below the target. Very powerful, but not quick enough for the faster opponents. Skyfire: A stream of fire shots down from above. Firestream: Six individual streams of fire erupt from the trailing thingies. Each one can be independantly controled to a degree, and the six can be combined for a single, more powerful blast. Fury of the Flame: NeoSaberLeomon is completly enveloped by fire. This adds additional power to his physical attacks, damages most foes if they touch him, and gives him a resistance to fire-based attacks that's even greater than his inherent fire resistance. Fury of the Flame can be maintaned for up to forty-five seconds. Personallity: NeoSaberLeomon is aggressive, especialy for a Guardian. He doesn't make fights where none exist, but he never turns down a challenge, and is not one who normally tries more subtle methods of dealing with his enemies. NSL isn't exactly good at making plans ahead of time. He's much beter at improvising, deciding what to do durring the battle, rather than before it. Sometimes he listens to the plans of the other Guardians, but if he doesn't like some part of it, he'll probably end up doing his own thing. DIR agent sign-up: Name: Azufe Kanajath Age: 26 Gender: Male Appearance: A very tall man at about 6 ft. 5 in. Very fit, as are all DIR agents, and naturally thin. He has short, black hair, and brown eyes. He has a scar on his left ankle, one on his left knee, and another on his right elbow. He usually wears shorts and a t-shirt with a smart-*** remark written on it. Personallity: He's very into his job as a DIR agent. Sure, it's dangerous, but he has fun with it. He doesn't take huge risks, though, and he's not cocky. He just loves his job. He's a very fast thinker, and has a good mind for strategy. He's also very determined, and very critical of those who give up. He's one of the best agents DIR has. When not on a mission, Azufe can usually be found in one of three places: in the workout area practicing, in his quarters reading sci-fi books (with the occasional fantasy novel thrown in), or in the rec center playing video games. He has a tendancy to screw around when off-duty (although he has regular practice sessions in the simulator), but when he has an assignment, he's very focused. Area of Expertise: Strategy, both before and durring a battle. He's also very good at figuring out riddles (which are quite common in the digital world). Thank you for attaching the picture, Blanko. Now, I'm sure you realize that the humans are all normal humans. I'm guessing that you intended to ignore the wings that are in the picture of Tao. As long as you relize that you need to do that, you're in. -

OOC: Sorry about forgetting the rating, Arcadia. This is an RPG I tried a while ago, but it didn't do so well. I liked the idea, so I decided to try it again. I've made a few changes, not the least of which is shortening this opening post as much as I could. It's still long, but you can skip the first part (the record set 5-A part) if you want to. I reccommend that you read it, but it's not essential in the first part of the RPG, and there'll be a brief summary of it when it becomes relevant. Also, there are a lot of spaces and short paragraphs in this post, so it looks longer than it is (although it's still long). Now, on to the story: Record set 5-A, record 23, Chipher archive. Copy of inscription originally found on set of five tablets of unknown origin and age. Translated to English. Translated inscription is as follows: There seems to be an endless suply of threats to our world. Believe it or not, it was even more dangerous in the distant past. The greatest threat came about 10,000 years ago. As with most evil Digimon, nobody knows where he came from. His name was Mekratrimon. No Digimon even came close to standing a chance against Mekratrimon. He had no trouble destroying all who chose to fight. He was faster than any other Digimon, meaning that none could escape him. He was unequaled in his physical strength and matchless in his power. Mekratrimon was seemingly invincible, and came very close to controlling our world. Nobody knows where they came from, or what they were. There are even arguements about how many there were. Like Mekratrimon, they suddenly appeared one day. They called themselves the Elemental Guardians. As the name implies, each one represented an element. There were definatly four representing the four main elements: fire, water, earth, and air. How many others there were is unknown. Individually, the Elemental Guardians were no match for Mekratrimon, but together, they were able to defeat him. This left them very weak, however, and they knew that they would not live much longer. So they chose four young Digimon. They gathered their power together and divided it among the young Digimon. The Elemental Guardians were never seen again. The idea was that the young Digimon, who named themselves the Guardians, would be able to locate and destroy any who would threaten our world, which they did very well. When one of them was about to pass away, he or she would choose a Digimon to take his or her place, and would transfer his or her power to that Digimon before passing on. The Guardians, named for the Elemental Guardians who created them, still exist today. End record. Record set 2-B, record 15, Recall archive. Brief summary of contact history between humans and Digimon, and of current research procedure: On April 1st, 2012, a government-employed AI research team that will remain anonymous accidentally discovered what, twenty-one days later, they confirmed as a parellel universe. They all signed non-disclosure agreements and went back to AI research as a specially-chosen team followed up on their discovery. On December 23, 2012, the research team discovered a way to send objects and people to the parelell universe and, presumably, bring them back. Millitary recon probes were sent and renturned several times, followed by cows and monkeys. Finally, the process was deemed safe enough to send humans across. On February 3rd, 2013, a seven-man team of millitary survival experts was sent across. They were supposed to stay for five days, but contact was lost on the third. A larger and better-armed team was sent across to figure out what happened. The second group found the only two survivors from the first group. The group didn't believe the pair's accounts of a 'monster', but soon experianced the truth for themselves. Fortunatly, they encountered a nicer creature than the first group did. This creature identified itself as Jijimon. Jijimon believed them when they said that they were from another world. He explained the basic rules of what he called the 'digital world' to the team members (see record set 3-C, record 1, Active archive), who were ready to believe almost anything after what they'd seen. All of his information has since been confirmed. After two more trips, with an average survival rate of 78% for all four expeditions, the top-secret Digital Institute of Research, or DIR, was established. Construction of the top-secret facility, to be located underground in a remote area of the Nevada desert (chosen because of Area 51. If anything happened, unlikely but possible, it be associated with Area 51, not DIR), was completed on March 6th, 2014. The facility contains residencies for all researchers and digital world field agents, as well as the most advanced computer network in the world. On December 25th, 2014, DIR researchers created the Digital Enhancement Device, or Digivice, as the field agents call it. The Digivice can be set to perfectly complement a specific Digimon (Rookie-level only), and once set, can not be changed. The Digivice can then be used to trigger the Digivolution process in that Digimon. Currently, Digivices are capable of boosting Digimon to the Ultimate level, and DIR researchers are hard at work trying to modify it to allow Mega-level digivolution. All field agents have Digivices and partner Digimon. New agents are taken to the digital world to find willing Rookie-level Digimon to set their Digivices to. End record. All right, that takes care of that part. Oh, in case you didn't figure it out, the archives are compiled by humans at DIR. Also, the date this RPG starts on is March 2nd, 2018 Now, remember in the 'history lesson' part, when I mentioned the Guardians? Well, as I said, there are four of them, and I'll allow people to sign up as them. Here they are, with pictures when applicable: NeoMagnadramon: See attachment for appearance. She is very fast and very agile, but not so durable. While she is the weakest of the four physically (strength, not durability), she is very powerful. Her abilities are holy-based. NeoMegidramon (Note: although Megidramon wasn't exactly nice in the show, the Guardian NeoMegidramon is not a bad guy. None of the Guardians have any chance of going bad. If they did, they wouldn't be Guardians): See attachment for appearance. He's a bit slower and a lot less agile than NeoMagnadramon, but much more durable, and he has the greatest physical strength of the Guardians. However, he's slightly less powerful than NeoMagnadramon. His abilities are darkness-based. NeoMetalGarurumon (NMG for short): See attachment for appearance. He is the slowest of the Guardians (but still pretty fast), and the least agile. But he's tough. Very tough. It takes a lot to bring him down, and he's also very good at dishing it out. His abilities utilize his numerous weapons. NeoSaberLeomon (reserved for me) (NSL for short) (Note: I made this one up, so there's no picture. I've attached a picture of SaberLeomon, who I'll be basing NSL's appearance off of): NSL, like the rest of the Guardians, is big. His height is about three times that of the average adult human, with his body having the same proportional size as SaberLeomon. NSL is mostly red in color, with some yellow and orange on the legs. The red is the red of fire, and NSL can very easily be mistaken for a being made of fire. This is especially true of the trailing whatevers that extend from his nexk (he has six, as opposed to SaberLeomon's four), and also with the things around his head. NSL is the fastest and most agile of the Guardians, but the least durable (he can still take quite a beating, though). He's just below NeoMegidramon in terms of physical strength, and he's the most powerful of the four. His abilities are fire-based. EDIT: I currently don't have pictures of NeoMegidramon or NeoMetal Garurumon. As soon as I find pictures, I'll attach them. Notes: The Guardians are technically Mega-level Digimon, even though they're much more powerful than almost every other Digimon there is. But they're not invincable. It's possible to hurt them, and it's possible to kill him. Also, if you're concerned about lopsidedness, don't worry. I have ways of equalizing the Guardians and DIR agents (see below). Now for the human part. DIR field agents are the humans with Digimon partners. They are well trained, both in battle tactics using their Digimon partners, and in more conventional weapons. The weapons used by DIR field agents are state-of-the-art, usually explosive-based (and include machine guns and shotguns that fire explosive rounds, semi-automatic grenade launchers, and portable mini-rocket launchers, among others), and very effective on most Digimon. DIR agents also have access to the very latest in pretty much everything, from vehicles to communication devices (coms) to cameras. One can't choose to become a DIR agent, because one doesn't know that DIR even exists. The road to becoming a DIR agent starts with a government evaluation of every little detail that is known about a person, from age to if the person is married or not to what job the person has to how many baseball games the person has attended. If the person is seen as a likely DIR agent, the person is approached by DIR recruiters, who give no indication as to what they want. All that they say to the person is that he or she has bee selected, and must make a choice: leave any loved ones and accept a position when all the person knows is that it will be dangerous and top-secret, or decline. It's a mark of success for the personallity eval system that nobody has ever declined. After accepting, the person is put through a series of tests. This normally takes about a week. Everything is tested: blood, fertility, reflex, physical strength, lung capacity, bladder capacity, everything. After that comes another week, this time of the most detailed background checks possible, done by multipe people. This is to insure the person's trustworthyness. Those that fail the tests are returned to their previous lives. If a person passes the tests, he or she is taken to DIR. First, the person gets a history lesson about the discovery of the digital world and the history of DIR. Next, the person is taught the basics of the digital world (digivolution levels, vaccine-data-virus, that sort of thing). Digivice usage is next. After that, the person is taken into the digital world by veteran agents to find a Digimon partner. After getting a Digimon partner, the training begins. Agents are trained to use all sorts of weapons. They're drilled on combat strategies. They and their Digimon partners train in all kinds of combat scenarios, from fully-equiped to without weapons, and sometimes even without a digivice. They are trained in both solo and group tactics. They are taught survival skills. They are put through rigorous fitness programs. After all the training, they're finally ready to be put to work. Because of the rigorous training program, even the newest agents are very skilled. Notes: Digivices can currently only get the partner Digimon to the Ultimate level, but DIR researchers are trying to figure out how to enable Mega-level digivolution. Also, there is only one partner Digimon per agent. And while the agents and their partners are the best-trained people in either world, they're not perfect. They do screw up sometimes. Oh, and just in case you didn't pick this up, the weapons and training are what equalize the DIR agents and Guardians. If you want to sign up as a non-Guardian Digimon or a human who isn't a DIR agent, PM me. Sign-up time. Here's the DIR agent sign-up: Name: Age: 18-30, please. If you want to be younger than 18, PM me (these are trained agents, not randomly selected kids. They're normally not taken when they're below 18). Gender: Appearance: Bio: Optional. I find that having a set bio limits character development potential. If you choose to have it, remember to include the DIA recruitment process. Personallity: Optional for the same reason that bio is. However, I recommend that you at least put something to give others an idea of how your character acts. It can be detailed, or just a couple sentences. Oh, be sure to remember that agents are carefully selected, and personality is the biggest part of a person's suitability for the job. Area of Expertise: This is the area or two that your character is best at. It can be weapons, tactics, nogotiations, interrogations, etc. Just don't go too nuts, and limit it to two areas. Digimon: Rookie form. I'd like it if you didn't use made-up Digimon, but I'll allow it. Appearance and attacks are required for made-up Digimon. Digivolution Chain: Rookie to Mega. Again, appearance and attacks are required for made-up Digimon. Here's the Guardian sign-up: Name: Which Guardian are you? Attacks: You get to make these up, but be sure that they're consistant with the Guardian you choose (NSL can't have water- or ice-based attacks, for example). Don't make them too powerful, though (I'll tell you if an attack is too powerful). Max of five. Bio: Optional for the same reason as the DIR agent bio. If you decide to have a bio, you must include the circumstances that led to you becoming a Guardian, including the name of the Guardian you replaced (must be 'Neo-something-mon'. You can make up a Neo digimon by making changes to an existing Digimon, as I did for NSL. Oh, if you see a Digimon named 'Something-mon X', that's the same as 'Neo-something-mon'). You must also send the bio to me via PM for my approval before posting it here. Personallity: Again, this is optional but reccommended. If you decide to have it, remember that the Guardians are carefully chosen, and have no chance of 'going bad'. I'll allow you to have two characters, but you can't be two Guardians. You can be two humans, though. Oh, and I reserve the right not to accept you. Do't worry, I'm not too strict. I'll check any other RPGs you've been in, and from those and your sign-up, I'll decide if you're in or not. Again, don't worry, because I'm not too strict. Now, just so you know what to expect, this RPG is not the standard 'helpless humans that don't know what's going on' type of RPG that most Digimon RPGs are. The humans in this RPG are trained professionals, and are normally more dangerous than their Digimon partners. Now, this RPG is very action-oriented. There's a plot, of course (complete with my usual large and unexpected plot twists), and there will be times when not much is happening (ideal for character development), but be prepared for a lot of action. This isn't an RPG where the humans stumble around clueless. This is their job, and they know how to do it. In the intrest of keeping this post as short as possible, I'll post my sign-ups (I'm playing two characters) later. PM me if you have any questions -
After Vaxla left tanken and Namia, she pondered the situation. Tanken doesn't want Jadou on the throne, but he doesn't seem to want Jadou killed, either. He certainly doesn't think that doing so is the right option. I wonder... maybe it's not the concequences of Marich's death he's concerned about. What if it's the potential concequences of Jadou's death that has him upset? No, that can't be it, or at least not all of it. Does he even realize that the first time I asked him for the Pinnacle, right after I told him that I could feel the energies of it, he said that I don't have even the slightest idea of its power? I had just told him that I could feel its power; after hearing that, how can he possibly believe that I have no idea of the power it has? I can't believe that he's that stupid. And the second time, he said that I was being selfish in requesting-okay, demanding-that he give me the Pinnacle, but he also said that he didn't want it. Kind of contradictory. No, there's something else going on here. Problem is, I don't know what, and I may very well never find out. It was then that she felt it. There were weapons of power other than Paragon and the Pinnacle, and all could be felt by elementalists, just like those two. And even tough Vaxla had never felt this one before, she had no doubt as to which blade it was. No elementalist of any kind would have. Vaxla proceeded with caution, aware that even though the blade she felt, the Omrigan, was nowhere near the equal of the Paragon, it was still a powerful sword. Powerful enough that it would serve Vaxla's purposes. While not powerful enough to nullify the Paragon, the Omrigan would allow Vaxla to aquire another blade, the Arigas, that was able to do so. She needed to get her hands on the Omrigan. When Vaxla saw the battle between Tanken and the Omrigan weilder, she moved faster, arriving just in time to block a strike and save Tanken's life. Tanken seemed confused by this. "What?" "You needed help. I'm helping." After saying that, Vaxla looked at her rod. Her face showed surprise, but she was not actually surprised. She knew that the weapons of elementalists were infused with the element of the person they belonged to. Thiis didn't give the weapons any powers of their own, but it did allow the elementalists to channel their energies through their weapons. It also had the effect of making the weapons very hard to destroy. But Vaxla wasn't about to give any clues that she knew why her weapon was intact. The more ignorant she appeared, the better. "The Omrigan!" Tanken exclaimed. "It's not sharp! It's a dull piece of metal!" "Very good, but it doesn't need to be sharp to kill..." Vaxla could feel the energies of the Omrigan flare out. She was able to anticipate the Omrigan weilder's attack and avoid it. "We're going to need more than two people to kill this one," Tanken said. "I'll hold him while you go get help!" Vaxla shouted as she dodged another blast. She knew that, because she could anticipate the weilder's attacks, she was the better choice to hold the weilder. "Don't argue, there's no time! Just go!"
-
Vaxla chuckled as she walked away from Tanken's tent. Hesitated? Does he really think I'm stupid enough to hesitate? If he does, he's mistaken. If I'd meant to kill him, he'd be dead. No, it's best if I leave him alive, even if it means I'll have to steal the Pinnacle from him. He's too skilled a fighter to justify killing as long as he remains an enemy of Marich. Besides, there may be a way I can convince him to give me the PInnacle. After all, the old I'll-scratch-your-back-if-you-scratch-mine principle hasn't failed yet." Tanken wasn't in his tent. Vaxla had to search for a little while before she found him and Namia sitting on a cliff looking at the horizon. Hearing Vaxla's approach, Tanken looked back, then quickly sprang to his feet, Namia doing the same. Before they could draw any weapons, vaxla had one wrist gun pointed at each of them. "Try anything, and I'll put a nice hole in your head. Now, I assume you know what I'm here for." "I won't let you have it, Vaxla!" tanken said. "Don't you understand? You have to realize what kind of damage you might do!" "Is anything I would do any worse than what Marich has done?" Vaxla shot back. "There is nothing I could do that's worse than what he's done. And I have no desire to do anything other than kill Marich. I wil not try to take the throne, and I honestly don't even care if I die, as long as Marich dies with me. As for who replaces Marich, well, why should I worry about it? Not only do I not care, but you're here to take care of that. My goal is simply to kil Marich, but this Resistance, to be successful, must establish a replacement government. With Marich dead, you can do that, and I intend toleave you to it. I'd even return the Pinnacle after killing Marich." "Nothing you say will do any good, Vaxla!" Namia told her. "Maybe, but maybe not. See, I have a proposal. We both have someone we want taken care of. My proposal is this: I remove the problem of Jadou, and in return, I get the Pinnacle until Marich is dead, at which point I will return it to you. Oh, and I had no desire to kill you earlier, Tanken. I didn't hesitate, because I had no intention to shoot. And I won't shoot if you decline to accept my proposal. I will shoot only if you move to attack me. Now, what's your answer? ---------------------------------------------------- OOC: Well, Ober? Oh, I've also sent you a PM, which you should read before replying.
-
Tanken entered his tent, then promptly drew his weapon in reflex, as there was already someone in his tend. He relaxed a bit when he recognised Vaxla. "God damn it, Vaxla! You could give someone a heart attack like that!" "I doubt that will happen," Vaxla replied. "Now, I have two things to tell you. Item one: Jadou. It would be easier to kill him than you seem to think. If I did it durring the night, nobody would even see me. However, it would be clear that someone assassinated him if I did it that way. The best way to kill him would be by utilizing the concept of 'friendly fire'. Translation: Someone 'accidently' shoots him durring combat. Now, on to the main reason for my presence here. You probably know what it is." "I'm not giving you the Pinnacle," Tanken said. "You don't seem to understand. I am going to kill Deus Marich, no matter what. If you're going to get to him first, I will not hesitate to kill you. I will not allow anyone else to kill Marich. I will kill him, no matter what." "How are you going to without the Pinnacle?" "Well," Vaxla explained, "I had a plan before the Pinnacle was found, and it's really very simple. The Paragon contains great power, but it does nothing to protect one from gunfire. A good shot to the head works just as well as it does on anyone else. But there's risk, because I have to get my shot off fast. However, I don't need to worry about that, because you were so kind as to find the Pinnacle for me." "I will not give you the Pinnacle," Tanken repeated. "You don't have a choice, Tanken." Even durring the day, Vaxla was quick. She had Tanken on the ground with a wrist gun three inches in front of his face before he knew what was happening. "Either you give me the Pinnacle, or I take it." -------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Again, I hope that's all right.
-
Upon returning to the camp, Vaxla could immediatly sense something. She recognised it immediatly, even though she had never felt it before. Any ELementalist could feel its presence, and no Elementalist would ever have any doubt as to what it was. So it's been found, Vaxla thought. Good. That makes my task much easier. Vaxla followed the pull of the object to a tent. She didn't bother with politeness; she just walked right in. Tanken drew his weapon out of reflex, then relaxed when he recognised Vaxla. "Jesus Christ, Vaxla!" he exclaimed. "You scared me half to death! Knock next time, okay?" "Fine," Vaxla replied. "Now, there is a very good reason for my visit." "I have something to tell you too, Vaxla," Tanken said, remembering Vaxla's statement that she wasn't actually a member of the Resistance. "Several of us have decided to leave the Resistance. We feel that the Resistance leader, Jadou, is not fit to replace Deus Marich. If that were to happen, Jadou would end up abusing his power. We won't let him do that. Would you be willing to join us?" "You do not have the forces to assult Marich's palace. Neither does the Resistance, but they are closer than you are. Currently, remaining with the Resistance offers us the greatest chance of success. And there is a much simpler way to prevent Jadou from replacing Marich. Simply kill him, and the problem will be removed. "Now, I'm not here to discuss this with you. I have another reason for coming here. I require the Pinnacle." Tanken did his best to hide his astonishment. Vaxla wasn't supposed to know about the PInnacle. Tanken decided to feign ignorance "The Pinnacle? I've never heard of it." "Don't play dumb with me, Tanken. I know you have it. I can feel it. Any Elementalist could. We are attuned to the basic energies of the world, and the Pinnacle was created directly from those energies. I know you have it, Tanken." "You are correct," Tanken replied. "I do have it, and I'm not giving it to you." "Don't worry, I have no intention of delivering it to Marich. Well, that's not quite true. Marich will get it, all right, and I'll give it to him. Blade-first. Marich is mine, and that sword's the easiest way to kill him. So give it to me. Now." ------------------------------------------------------------------ OOC: Ober, please tell me if anything's wrong with that.

Vaxla excecuted yet another series of impossible acrobatic maneuvers, but she wasn't dodging Gakana's blasts. She was countering every one with a blast of her own. Her moves were intended to bring her in closer to the demon without getting killed. She was closing in when Gakana faded into the ground. Instead of backing off, Vaxla stayed near gakana, sensing the demon's location through the darkness. When Gakana reemerged, she was ready. She planted one pole on the ground, using it to vault herself over Gakana. Then, she spun herself around Gakana in the same manner as with Yuber. Unlike against Yuber, she went for the limbs instead of the face. A few seconds later, Gakana was lying on the ground, minus one arm and leg. "You lose," Vaxla said. "Now, I have a question for you. I must know why you decided to fight me. What reason do you have for attempting to kill me?" "Because I needed to feed, and I could feel your energy." "I remember now. You drain the energy from your victims. You went for me because you felt a lot of energy coming from me. What you failed to realize is that, as an Elementalist of Darkness, I could nullify your darkness-based abilities because we battled in the darkness." "That mistake resulted in my loss," Gakana told her. "I assume you intend to kill me, but before you do, I feel that you should be informed of something. Durring our battle, someone ordered me to withdraw. But I was not here under anyone's orders. Whoever gave the order assumed that I would obey unquestioningly, even though I didn't know who gave it." "Sounds like Deus Marich to me. The bastard's arrogant as hell. It wouldn't surprise me if he did it. That's the kind of thing he'd do. Now, I must be going." And with that, she channeled the energy of the night into Gakana, literally blowing the demon up. After that, she turned and left.
-
OOC: Um, I specifically said for nobody to interfere in the battle between Vaxla and Gakana. Having Gakana leave is interfering in the battle. You saw my post (that's the only way you could know about Gakana), so you should have seen that part. I'm going to ignore your post unless Ober or a mod instructs me to do otherwise. ---------------------------------------------- Gakana was indeed powerful, significantly more powerful than Vaxla. But Vaxla had a few advantages of her own. First, she was an Elementalist of Darkness, and it was night. Therefore, Vaxla was more capable physically, and her powers were greater. She was also able to divert or nullify Gakana's darkness-based attacks, nullifying a significate portion of Gakana's power. Gakana still had a slight edge, but Vaxla's skill more than made up for it. Neither was holding anything back. Gakana would fade into the walls or the floor, popping up unpredictably. Vaxla could sense him, however, and was always able to move. He soon abandoned that strategy. He struck in every way he could, but he just couldn't hit Vaxla. She would either deflect Gakana's attack, cancel it with one of her own, or performe a seemingly impossible flipping move and be somewhere else when the attack hit. She was all over the place, Jumping and flipping and spinning and responding to Gakana's assult with everything she had. Vaxla sidestepped an energy blast from Gakana. Anticipating this, Gakana had already fired a second blast at Vaxla's new position. Vaxla jumped over it, only to see a third blast coming at her. Fortunatly, she was up against a still-standing building. She pushed off of it, right into the path of yet another energy blast. Fortunatly, that one was fired a bit too late, and it missed. Vaxla landed on the ground, only to be met by a fifth blast. This one she canceled out with a blast of her own. "You are a much greater challenge than I anticipated," Gakana remarked. "No opponent of mine has ever been this difficult to eliminate." "Stop the talking," Vaxla replied, "and let's finish this." "Agreed."
-
Vaxla opened the gate, then stepped back outside. She fired her flare gun five times, a signal that indicated someone had been compromised and the attack was to commence immedeatly. After doing this, she chose a narrow alley and walked down it. After emerging in a deserted street, she turned to face the alley. There was something in there. It had been watching her since Vincent went off on his own, following her. She had led it away from the gate in order to engage it on her own. "I know you're there," she said. "Reveal yourself." "You knew of my presence?" a demonic voice replied. "Very good." There was a warping in the ground, then a demonic creature rose. It was basically huminoid, but definatly a demon, black in color and with red eyes. "Maybe you know my name, too." "Elementalists are usually exposed to a variety of lore, and I am no exception. I believe I do know you. Only one creature has ever demonstrated an ability to meld into solid objects, such as the ground. You are Gakana." "Very good. I am indeed Gakana. And since you know me, you must be aware of the hopelessness of winning any fight against me." "You have never challenged anyone quite like me," Vaxla replied. "I believe you will find me a greater challenge then you are used to. Now, enough talk. Let's get down to business, shall we?" ----------------------------------------------------- OOC: Gakana is Vaxla's oponent. The battle is between Vaxla and Gakana only. Please do not have anyone interfere.

Vaxla trained hard for about fifteen minutes, then stopped to rest, and to think. Demons almost never left their own realm without reason, so why was the group Tala and Aaron had taken the new Changers to there? What were they doing? Did it have something to do with the Changers? Vaxla walked towards the opening the others had used. She stepped outside and located the general area where Aaron had said the demons were. She couldn't see anything, but knowing the general area where the others were was enough for Vaxla. She knew where to look for them if she had to for some reason. Vaxla turned around to go back inside. A few steps past the entrance, she stopped. There was a noise behind her. She spun around, coming face-to-face with a lone Soul-Snatcher demon. "You've wandered into the wrong place, demon," Vaxla said. "perhaps you should explain yourself." "I have nothing to explain to you, human," The demon replied in its inhuman voice. His eyes are yellow, Vaxla noted. That makes things much easier. Not that this will be easy. Damn thing caught me unarmed and inside where I can't change form. Good thing we're near the entrance, because I'll have to force it outside if I want to kill it. "You want a fight, demon?" she said aloud. "You cannot threaten me, human. Your death is assured." Vaxla laughed. "I don't die easy. If you want to take me on, you're in for a fight. Let's go" ------------------------------------------------- OOC: Hope it's okay if Vaxla has some action, too.

"Before we move on," Vincent said, "would you mind telling me how the hell you got here so quickly?" Vaxla didn't say anything. She just stood there and faded out of sight. She almost cracked up at the look on Vincent's face when she disappeared. "How the hell did you do that?" Vincent exclaimed (a whispered exclamation, of course) as Vaxla reappeared. "Simple," Vaxla whispered back. "I am an Elementalist of Darkness. That was one of the powers granted to me by the night. Now, we have business to take care of." Just then, there was a loud noise. Very loud. "Holy shit!" Vincent exclaimed, barely managing to keep his voice at a whisper. "What the hell was that?" "I have no clue," Vaxla replied, "but I'm guessing it means someone's cover has been blown." At that moment, the gate guards burst out of the gatehouse with guns drawn. There were five of them, each with two APT-2 automatic pistols, more than enough firepower to kill a man and a woman. Except the woman was Vaxla. She acted fast. Five shots later, there were five dead guards, each one with a small hole in the head. the RME-2s might not be too accurate at long ranges, but Vaxla wasn't at long range, and she did not miss. "They were obviously going to investigate that noise," Vaxla said to Vincent. "Now they're dead, which means the gate will be no problem. You go investigate the noise while I get the gate open. And move fast. Go!"

Garnok gathered the players for a briefing before the mission began. "I'm only going to say this once," he began, "so listen up. The enemy is located on a large astroid in the Tanagaon system. They've taken over an abandoned mining station. They've been constructing fixed defenses, but none seem to be operational yet. We have warships in the area in case the enemy has anything big of their own, but an orbital bombardment is not an option. The facility is underground, and the enemy will simply wait out any bombardment. Which means that we're going to have to take them in mech combat. "Now, we don't have much data on their forces, but we have some. Mech types are a very good mix of the heavier Tanks and the like with faster units like Dancers and Eagles. We've identified a few multi-person mechs, including a pair of Griffins, but not enough to pose a serious problem, especially since we have our own multi-person mechs. The numbers favor them, but we've picked the most skilled mech pilots we could find. We should have a major skill advantage. "The enemy also has the home field advantage. They know the terrain, and they know the layout of the facility. Of course, they'll undoubtably mount their defense on the astroid's surface, before we enter the facility, so that they can more easily take advantage of their superior numbers. Of course, we'll have room to manuver, and we've got some mechs that'll be very tough to hit, including the new Orbits. This won't be easy, but we should be able to pull it off, and the longer we wait, the greater the chance that the enemy will figure out that we're coming and relocate. So we're not taking the time to gather more people. We're going now. "We'll be using instant transit, but the distance is far enough that we'll have to go one-by-one to avoid risk of a glitch in the process. The drop point is far enough away from the facility that we should be able to get everyone across before the enemy can do anything. Now, it's time to do this. Everyone, board your mechs and await your transit. Let's do this." As the players and mods boarded their mechs, Sako walked over to Garnok. "Think you picked any of the wrong people?" "You can never be sure," Garnok responded, "which is why I didn't mention any of the surprises we have in store for the enemy." "Good move. Always assume that your enemy has agents among your people." Garnok nodded. "Very true." He looked around. "I don't see Shaull. Why isn't he here?" "Who gives a shit?," Sako replied. "If he gets here before we're all gone, then he can come. If he doesn't make it in time, then forget him. We're probably better off without him anyways. Now, I believe you expressed a desire to get on with this. Why don't we do that?" "Agreed. Let's get moving." -
I was probably a little too harsh, Vaxla thought, but the point remains. The new Changers aren't ready for any real fighting. I mean, two of them bailed out before the training started. Yes, they were different people than the ones who are still here, but their decision just emphasizes my point. These people aren't ready for even weak demons, and despite what tala thinks, sheer numbers will make it near impossible for her and Aaron to get them all before at least one of the new Changers is killed. with enough training, they might actually be able to contribute something, even if it's just distracting the enemy. Right now, they can't handle even the easy task Tala has for them. They just aren't good enough. Vaxla entered the training room. She found her poles and began. She was working on developing new fighting techniqus. She and Nuria had sparred often enough that each knew how the other fought. So Vaxla was changing her style enough to throw Nuria off, just in case the two of them did wind up in weapon combat. If that happened, Vaxla would be ready.
