1. Vincent was doing evrything right. He was obviously skilled at the art of stealth. He was hiding in the bushes, only moving when it was perfectly safe to do so. And when he did move, he made no noise. He would reach the gate undetected, and quickly as well. He anticipated waiting for Vaxla. What he didn't know is that Vaxla was already at the gate. Actually, she was partway up it. Her darkness-enhanced physical ability allowed her to climb it easily. of course, anyone else would have been seen in an instant, but not Vaxla. The darkness gave her the ability to fade into it, essentially becoming invisible. Vaxla flipped herself over the top of the gate and dropped to the ground, unharmed due to her enhanced physical state. Once down, she did some scouting work, learning the positions of every guard in the area. She silently killed a couple of the more remote ones, then returned to the gate and awaited Vincent's arrival, imagining the look on his face when she suddenly appeared in front of him.
2. Name: Vaxla Intunecat Age: 25 Side: Kaisho Rank of your side: Officer Weapon of Chioce: The Rigas, a pair of metal poles infused with the power of darkness. Description: Vaxla has shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. She's very tall, standing at about six-and-a-half feet. She is in very good shape. She's strong, she's athletic, and she's extremly good-looking. She's almost undoubtably the most beutiful woman you'll ever see. Personality: Vaxla is all business. She doesn't make small talk. If it isn't important in some way, she doesn't say it. She's very anti-social, and any romantic advances toward her are likely to leave you missing a limb. If you're lucky. Vaxla is very smart and very quick-thinking. She's also a person who absolutly refuses to give up. Bio: She doesn't remember most of her life. The only things she remembers from before her discovery of her transformation ability are all negative, which is the reason for her attitude. One thing she remembers is the death of her parents at the hands of the Vendetta Council. She fights with the Kaisho for one reason and one reason only: she wants revenge. Which is also why she puts as much time as she does into combat training. She is an incredibally dangerous person, and if she wants you dead, you'd better hope she can't find you. Because if she does, she will kill you, and there's nothing you can do about it. Beast Name: Akansona Beast Description: Akansona is a very large and powerful dragon. However, she is also strong mentally. Almost anyone would be controlled by her instead of controlling her. However, she and Vaxla are a perfect match, and have formed a partnership of sorts. Neither fights the other, and they use whichever form and mind are appropriate for the situation. Sometimes Akansona is in control, and sometimes Vaxla is. Sometimes Akansona controls the human form, and sometimes Vaxla controls the dragon form. This partnership allows them to access Akansona's great power and knowledge, as well as Vaxla's intelligence, quick thinking, and fighting skill. they can use both their strengths, instead of one mind being blocked out and unable to contribute anything. Beast Signature Attack: Dragonflare: Dragonflare allows amplification of and and all of Akansona's numerous fire-based abilities. The downside is that after using this amplification, change of the mind currently in control is not possible for about an hour. Hope that's OK.
3. OOC: Ober, I'm going to assume that the Black Knight in your post is not Yuber, as Vaxla is currently engaged in one-on-one combat with Yuber (re-read my last two posts if you missed it). ----------------------------------------------------- The battle between Vaxla and Yuber was nothing short of spectacular. Yuber was strong and tough, and his armor didn't make things any easier for Vaxla. He was also surprisingly agile. Compared to Vaxla, however, he was standing still. Her darkness-boosted strength, speed, and agility were being put to good use. She was moving fast, never staying in one place long enough to give Yuber a good shot. It was also rare for her to remain on the ground for more than a few seconds. She was vaulting herself ofer Yuber, flipping all over the place, and literally bounceing off of walls, columns, and anything else she could find. After a few minutes of furious combat, Vaxla vaulted herself off the wall and over Yuber. Instead of letting herself land, she pushed on the ground with her poles, launching herself at Yuber. She planted one pole on the ground and kicked off of Yuber, spinning herself around the pole. She planted her other pole and did the same thing, completing a spin around to Yuber's front. She continued her spin, which brought her other pole jabbing right into Yuber's face. And Vaxla had charged it with dark energy, meaning that it went clean through the skull. She pulled the pole out and watched as Yuber fell to the ground. Vaxla saw that the others had finished their battle, and she walked over to them. "Let's move," she said. "If we're quick, we can reach the city in time for the main attack. Let's move." She hopped on her bike and sped off, not waiting for the others.
4. What the hell is he talking about? Sako wondered. He sounds like one of those conspiracy theroy nuts, always seeing some sort of plot somewhere. Seriously, what 'hidden truth' does he think there is? it's just a game. Sure, it's a game on a whole different scale, but it's still a game. Yes, there are numerous hackers, but still, what the hell kind of conspiracy would involve a game? Shaull used a terminal to check his messages. He found the message about the new skill points, and saw that he had an extra fifty for his participation in the upcoming attack on the hacker ring. So he accessed the skill shop, inputing 'Melder' as his class. A list of skils for the Melder specialty areas of fighters and single-person mechs appeared. Sako browsed through the list. One skill in particular caught his eye. It was a weapon modification skill compatable with any kind of energy pistol. It added a punch to a single shot (not to three-shot bursts), which had the effect of knocking the target back a good distance. Sako was interested because that effect was the same as the Gauntlet weapon in Zone of the Enders. It didn't do much damage, but it was very easy to use to send opponents flying into walls or other mechs. It cost 50 skill points, so Sako bought it. then he sat and waited for everyone to arrive.
5. Yuber had several advantages over Vaxla. For one, he was much tougher than her physically, and also stronger. And his power was not effected by the time of day. But vaxla was more skilled, and she knew how to fight stronger opponents. She also had two poles to Yuber's one sword, giving her a huge weapon advantage. Which made things about even. Yuber was not an easy opponent, but neither was Vaxla. She made sure to keep the pressure on with weapons, preventing Yuber from concentrating on using his powers against Vaxla. She was constantly on the offensive, and whenever Yuber attacked, Vaxla had a pole ready to parry the strike. Yuber was much less able to defend against Vaxla's attacks, but he was not easily injured. Still, vaxla seemed to have the upper hand. Then things changed a bit. Yuber spun himself away from Vaxla, who immedeatly braced herself for an attack as she closed the distance. But Yuber didn't use hs powers to attack. He split his sword, giving himself two weapons to match Vaxla's two. vaxla's poles still had the advantage of manuverability over Yuber's swords, but the two-weapons-versus-one advantage was gone. Yuber moved in, anticipating a much easier battle, and a quick victory. What he got was a pole slammed into the side of his head. It didn't do much, though, and Yuber moved in on Vaxla. this time, it was vaxla who backed off. Vaxla glanced at the sun again, and it was almost below the horizon. She faced Yuber. "Time's up," she said. "Correct," Yuber replied. "Time is indeed up... for you!" He fired several dark energy blasts simultaniously(sp?). They were all heading for Vaxla but she didn't move. As the blasts neared her, she released dark energy of her own, destroying Yuber's blasts. Yuber was shocked. "How the hell did you do that?" he shouted angrily. Vaxla laughed. "Tip: never use the powers of darkness against an Elementalist of Darkness when the light has faded. It tends to be a waste of power." "No mater. You are still no match for me. I don't need to use any powers to defeat you. The difference in strength alone will be more than enough to allow me to kill you easily in weapon combat." "If it's weapon combat you want, then that's what you'll get," Vaxla told him. unlike Yuber, she knew that the difference in strength was much less now. In addition to strengthening her powers, the darkness strengthened Vaxla physically. She was stronger, touogher, faster. She could pull off moves that would have been impossible in the light. Yuber would never know what hit him. "This is my fight," Vaxla told the others. "Stay out of it. This is between myself and Yuber. Do not interfere." "A foolish request," Yuber said. "You stand no chance by yourself." "you talk big. Let's see how well you can back it up."
6. It wasn't long before everyone knew of Namia's dissapearance. There was talk of detouring to the Crimson Hold to rescue her, but that plan was shot down because a rescue mission was already underway. Vaxla, however, didn't think that Tanken, Vincent, and Raion would be enough to rescue Namia. Which is why she took a motorcycle and went to the Crimson Hold herself. When Vaxla arrived at the Crimson Hold, she saw a man she didn't recognize slam a hammer into a figure with black armor. It didn't seem to have much of an effect, and the black man quickly repelled his attacker. I think it's about time I entered this fight, Vaxla thought. Vaxla drwe her poles and stepped forward. "You!" she called to the black man. "I call you to face me in battle!" "And just who are you?" the black man asked. "I am Vaxla Intunecat, Elementalist of Darkness." the black man laughed. "You have made a mistake revealing yourself, Vaxla. I am the Black Knight, Yuber. My master, Lord Luca Blight, wishes you dead." "I remember Blight. I thought he would come himself to kill me. I didn't expect him to send someone else. Tell me, Yuber. If your master couldn't kill me, what chance do you thing you have?" "My master's power is different than mine. My power is more suited to direct combat. And if Blight were not my master, he would be dead now." "You thing you're tougher than your master, then," Vaxla said. She looked to the west, where the sun was setting. She turned back to Yuber. "Well, I don't know if that's true or not. What I do know is that you're not going to kill me." "If I am on the verge of defeat, I will simply leave and return after obtaining greater power." Vaxla laughed again. "I've heard that one way too many times. None of the ones who've said it are alive. I killed each one before he or she was able to get away." "I will not be one of them. I am superior to you in every way." Vaxla laughed again. "That so?" She looked at the sun again, then back at Yuber. "Well, I'd say you have about two minutes to kill me. I recommend you get started. Let's do this." ----------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Hope that's okay, Ober.
7. OOC: Um, the battle will undoubtably span a lot more than five posts. ------------------------------------------------------ Vaxla followed Halthan and Tanken to the Binthas Black Market. She already had guns, but she needed ammo. And ammo for her guns was expensive. But she had a reputation among criminal-underworld types. Her extreme hatred of Deus Marich was part of it, and the rest was the fact that she had taken care of raiding soldiers on several occasions. So she normally got extremly good deals from the black market. Vaxla knew this particular black market, as she'd used it several times before. She located a person who she knew would have ammo for her guns. His name was Garon Italcra. Vaxla walked over to his stand. "Hello, Garon." "Hey ther, Vaxla! It's been awhile." Vaxla nodded. "It has," she agreed. "I haven't been in the area. Now, let's get down to business, shall we?" "Let's. I assume you want the regular pakage?" "Same type of ammo, but I'm making a larger purchase this time. I don't know when the next time I'll be able to buy ammo is, so I'm stocking up. I'd like triple the usual amount, please." Garon gave a low whistle. "Damn, girl! What the hell are you planning on doing? Storming Marich's palace?" "Yes." "Should've known you'd say that." Garon rummaged around for a bit, then put eighteen ammo packs on the counter. They were pretty small, but that was because they didn't contain bullets. Vaxla's weapons of choice were energy-based, and the packs were power packs. Each one was good for about 50 shots. "You have a good eye for weapons, Vaxla," Garon remarked as Vaxla counted out the required money. "The RME-2 model is a good one. it has a decent rate of fire, a good punch, and the gun is attached to your wrist. They come in pairs, too. They're not exactly super-accurate at any range over about 100 feet, but that's not exactly a major problem for you, now, is it?" "I don't miss," Vaxla said. She paid Garon, took the power packs, and left. ------------------------------------------------------ OOC: I hope Vaxla's guns are okay. If they're not, tell me, and I'll change them.
8. I was browsing gamefaqs.com when I saw 'Drakengard 2' on the 'D' list for PS2 games. I was extremly excited, as Drakengard is one of my favorite games. After some hunting, I was able to learn a few things. I don't know much, but what I do know has increased my anticipation for this game. First off, I found several screenshots, which you can see by clicking here. As you can see in the screenshots, Seere is back, and he still looks the same. He clearly still has the pact with Golem. Arioch also seems to be present. Also making a return appearance is the single creepiest character ever made: Manah. Yes, that Manah. The Cult of the Watchers priestess whose voice keeps changing between 'little girl' and 'demon'. In fact, according to what I've heard, she's the main character. I've seen a picture, and she's a lot older now, which means that she'll be significantly less creepy (her creepieness came from the fact that she was a little girl). In terms of gameplay, you do seem to get to control a dragon, which means that all three styles of play from the first game will probably return, which would be perfect as far as I'm concerned. And aside from the characters I've mentioned, I know nothing about any facet of the plot, but I expect the same kind of great storyline the first game had. Well, that's all I know. Is anyone else looking forward to this game as much as I am? And does anyone have any more information?
9. After getting some food, Vaxla decided to clean herself up. She knew she was quite a sight. Her clothes were ripped all over the place, she had numerous scrapes, scratches, and bruises, and there was dirt all over her, as well as dried blood. She couldn't do anything about the scratches and bruises, but she could certainly wash herself off, which she did. Then she went looking for Tala. She needind to discuss the mission she'd heard mentioned while she was eating. Vaxla checked Tala's room first. Tala was inside, in human form. She was looking at the Soul again. Vaxla walked up beside her. "They're all in there, aren't they?" Tala looked up at Vaxla. "Yes. I hope nobody else joins them. Too many have died already." "And your insane 'training mission' is only going to create more deaths," Vaxla said. "I don't care how weak the demons are. Sending the new Changers against them is insane." "Aaron and I will be there in case we're needed," Tala replied. "That won't be enough, Tala. No matter how hard you and Aaron try, you're not going to be able to keep all of them alive. Someone will die, probably more than one. And right now, we need everyone we can get, even if they don't know shit. We should keep them here, give them more training. Make them good enough to stand a chance in actual combat before we send them into actual combat." "I understand your concern, Vaxla, but we just don't have the time to train them the normal way." "very well, then." And with that, Vaxla turned and left.
10. It would be a couple game days before the mission was on, and it was getting late for real. David logged out and got some sleep, as he guessed the others would be doing. Fortunatly, the next day was Saturday, which meant that there were no responsibilities to take care of. So David logged back in right after breakfast. It would still be a few game-hours before the mission was on, which gave Sako time to inspect his new mech, have Tarlomno make any necessary modifications, and give it a test run. By the time everyone had logged back in, he was ready. Mech Profile: Custom Design regestered to Sako Mech Name: Jehuty Performance Levels: Speed: Extreme Agility: Extreme Sheiding: Moderate Armor: Extremly Low Jehuty was designed based on the mech Jehuty from the game Zone of the Enders. It utilizes the new counter-grav technology in place of the thruster system seen on almost all other mechs. This, along with the lack of armor, gives Jehuty unmatched speed and manuverability. Instead of armor, Jehuty relies solely on its sheild system to keep it intact, the result being that Jehuty will remain fully functional until it is destroyed, instead of losing functions like other mechs. The disadvantage is that sheilds don't offer as much protection as armor, but Jehuty more than makes up for this with its manuverability. In the hands of a competent pilot, Jehuty is extremly difficult to hit. Jehuty is not well-suited for long range combat. Its ranged weapons mainly serve as means to distract the enemy while moving into melee range. These weapons are: A: An ERB-D Dancer-optimized energy rifle capable of firing a three-shot burst or a more powerful but still very weak single shot. B: A set of TLC-A laser emmitters. Multiple emmitters are on either side of the mech, and are concealed. They fire weak lasers that follow the target untill they either hit or 'burn out' and dissipate. Each emmitter can be locked onto a seperate target. C: A BSC-A burst shot, capable of being charged for a couple seconds for a stronger attack. Jehuty's melee-range weapon is an ESC-A energy sword, capable of being quickly (fraction of a second) charged and released in a powerful spin attack. Jehuty is also equipped with an EWD-A electronic warfare system that creates a false image of the mech for an enemy's scanners. Mech Class: AAA -------------------------------------------- OOC: For those of you who haven't played Zone of the Enders, a picture of Jehuty is attached (Jehuty is the one that's not blowing up).
11. I think that there are still some seriously creepy movies out there. First off, anything by Stephen King is... well, is a Sephen King movie. That's really the only way I can find to describe them. As for other movies, well, I don't watch too much horror, simply because the ideas are always so lame. However, I did see Saw, and that has to be the best horror film I've ever seen. It forces you to think instead of just mindlessly plodding on, it has believable characters, and it's scary as hell. Plus, the ending is just perfect. Seriously, how can you say that horror movies are getting lamer with stuff like Saw out there?
12.
The second is Drakengard. This game has multiple endings but every time the makers seem [spoiler']to want to kill off the protagonist or his dragon. Always ends with the worlds destruction.

Actually,
the world only faces destruction in two of the endings. In ending B, there's all the demon things coming out of the Seeds, and ending C has the dragons coming to destroy mankind. In the others, the world is saved.
The only ending that dissapointed me in that game was ending E. You do all the work to get it, only to see
Caim and Angelus get shot down after saving the world.
It just wasn't worth it.
13. When Vaxla woke up, she was in her room. She was still tired, but she could stand and walk. She was sore as hell, though, and had several bruses, as well as more than a few scratches. She changed into some clothes that weren't ripped in dozens of places, then went looking for Tala. Vaxla when to Tala's room. Tala was there, looking at the Soul. She looked up when she heard vaxla come in. "Vaxla! Are you all right?" "No," Vaxla said. "I feel like shit." "You look like it, too. What happened?" Vaxla sat on the floor. "That's a very good question. I don't know what happened. We were fighting our way through the demons, and we were about to enter the chamber where the stone is. then this light appears. It seemed like there was some sort of form to it, but the light made it impossible to make out. I don't know what it was. "We thought it was guarding the stone, so Avian stepped forward, told it why we wanted the stone, and asked it to let us pass. two seconds later, she was dead. Kaida and Lyn were next, followed by Roc. Kaikura and Fawn changed to animal form and ran. I pulled myself onto Kaikura's back. It was a good choice, because Fawn was next. I knew that Kaikura would never make it out, I jumped off. I was just in time, because she was killed right afterwards. We were near the entrance, and I got outside and changed form. I thought it would catch me, but it didn't. I got back here as quickly as I could." "You don't have any idea what it was?" "No," Vaxla said. "All I know is that with with that thing there, there's no way in hell we're going to get that stone.
14. "Well, I guess Drake's not coming," Karalos remarked after Shaul terminated communications. "The message said he wouldn't come if Shaull was here. And I can see why he hates the guy." "Well, Drake was pretty cocky too," Sako told her. "He wasn't nearly the asshole this Shaull guy is, but there are a few similarities." "Well, he's coming, and he didn't give us much of a choice," Garnok said. "I can take him," Rhym replied. "Maybe. Sako's also got a very good chance in the custom mech Tarlomno's building for him. There's never been anything like it. I'd love to know how you came up with that idea, Sako." "I took the design from another game," Sako answered. "As soon as I learned about the antigrav technology in the Orbits, I wanted to bring it into this game." It was then that Shaull Demandgon arrived. He looked around at the assembled group. "You're who I'm working with?" he asked. "We are," Sako said. "If you don't like it, then you can leave." Shaull laughed. "You worthless pieces of crap wouldn't stand a chance without me." "I beg to differ," Rhym said. Shaull looked at him, and there was a definate hatred on his face. It was brief, but Sako saw it. "And who are you?" Shaull asked. "That's Rhym," Sako replied, watching Shaull carefully, "and he's good. He took out a Falcron in a damn Terrapin." Again, it was brief, but it was clear to Sako that Shaull hated Rhym. "Whatever," Shaull said dismissively. "I'm going to have whoever owns this dump bring in my mech." And with that, he walked back to the garage area. When Shaull was gone, Sako turned to Rhym. "Do you know him?" "I've never met him before," Rhym told Sako. "Why?" "Because he hates you. A lot. The hatred was especially evident when I mentiond how you destroyed Drake's Falcron." "Wait a minute," Kitty said. "Are you saying that that guy is Drake?" "I think so," Sako answered. "Which means that, among other things, that guy's not nearly as good as he says he is. I've seen drake in action, and he is certianly very skilled, but not as skilled as Shaull's saying he is." "Well, if you're right, what are we supposed to do about it?" Karalos asked. "Garnok, he needs to be observed. He could very well be here only to get back at Rhym. Also, I think you need to talk to Tarlomno about rigging his mech with EW equipment. You or another mod gets the button that activates the stuff and disables his mech if he does turn on us. In fact, more than one mod should have the button, just in case. I don't think we can afford to take any chances with this guy."
15. Vaxla followed the others outside before changeing. Her phoenix was much too large to fit inside, so she waited until she was outside to change. While Lyn led the way, Vaxla and Avian circled around in the air, the two of them being faster than the others on the ground. Kaikura remained on the ground, as Roc was riding her. The added weight made it hard for her to reman in the air. She was just as fast as the other land animals on the ground, however, and had no trouble keeping up. While she flew, Vaxla thought about what Tala said. Tala said 'eyes of a hawk'. If I had said that, I would have wanted the person I said it to to keep an eye on Avian. But I doubt Tala believs Avian to be a threat. She might have been referring to the fact that the phoenix, like most birds, has very good vision, but again, I doubt it. The bottom line is that I don't have a clue what she meant. Of course, I am certainly going to keep an eye on Avian, so if that was what Tala meant, then she didn't need to say anything. They had arrived at the cave where the stone was located, and were hidden in the bushes outside, all of them in human form. It was easy to confirm what Lyn had reported about the demons. If anything, his estimate of their numbers had been conservative. He was definatly correct about the types, though. "It's a good thing we have a lot of experiance with those classes of demons," Vaxla whispered to the others. "Remember, the Soul-Snatchers are too much stronger than us to make weapon combat a good idea, so take them out in animal form. The Lower Demons are much easier to take out with weapons, which is good, because Roc needs something to do. And I can't fit inside in phoenix form. Oh, and Fawn's deer form and Avian's hawk aren't that good for fighting. Now, let's do this." They had killed most of the demons, and were nearing the stone they had come for. Kaida and Lyn, in animal form, were in the lead. The others were behind them, with Vaxla bringing up the rear. There were bound to be a few demons in the room with the stone, but surely nothing that the Changers couldn't handle. It happened almost instantly. They were about to enter the stone chamber when a white light appeared out of nowhere. It seemed to have a form, but its brightness made the form virtually impossible to make out. Assuming that it was guarding the stone, Avian stepped forward. "We are the Changers," she told it, "and we require that stone to defeat an enemy that threatens the world. Please, allow us to pass." As soon as the phoenix was spoted, Tala and everyone else (except the vampire Meteo), including the new changers, ran outside. The reason? Vaxla was returning alone. As she came in for a landing, they cleared a space for her. She landed, changed back to human form, and promptly fell to the ground. She looked like hell (which wasn't easy for someone as good-looking as her), and she was clearly exhausted. Tala knelt down beside Vaxla. "What happened?" she asked. "Did you get the stone? Where are the others?" "Others... dead. All... dead," Vaxla answered. She was almost too exhausted to speak at all. "Something... don't know... light. Killed... everyone. I... barely escaped... came... back... here." And then Vaxla passed out. ---------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Take it from here, Blanko.
16. EDIT: OOC: Blanko, I think everyone's waiting for you to post. ------------------------------------- Vaxla's training had been interrupted by Lyn's arrival. Soon after her arrival, Tala entered the training room. After Lyn was gone, Tala turned toward Vaxla. "What's on your mind?" she asked. "I'll be honest with you," Vaxla said. "Either you had no idea what you were saying earlier, or you've been decieved big-time." "Oh? In what way?" "Some of the things you said don't match reality," Vaxla explained. "For example, that line about how demons aren't necessarily evil, when that evilness is a big part of what defines a demon. Also, when Nuria's parents were defeated, the common oppinion was that the demons were pretending to be her and Avian's parents. You yourself came up with the theroy. But you told me earlier today that you knew from the start that those were Nuria's real parents, making Nuria and her sister demons as well. If you'd figured that out, then why tell everyone otherwise?" "You don't actually think I'm with Nuria, do you?" Tala asked. "I think that you're being decieved, manipulated. Someone's trying to use you, Tala. And that someone is probably Avian. Even you have to admit that, out of all of us, she's the most likely to be a traitor. After all, she is Nuria's sister. I know that you probably don't believe me, but at least I've warned you."
17. Dude, this RPG died almost a year ago. It's done.
18. Vaxla was nearing Balkazaar, which she had finally been able to identify as the location of Resistance HQ. She didn't like working with other people, but she knew that she would need help to reach Deus Marich. She was possibly Marich's single most dangerous enemy, but not even she could do it by herself. Which was why she was headed towards Balkazaar. Vaxla saw the Mantaean encampment before anyone in it saw her. Good thing it's night, she thought. Vaxla was more powerful when in the dark, and there were a few things she couldn't do in the light. Only in the dark could Vaxla fade out, effectively becomming invisible to normal vision. She did this and moved closer to the camp. The man who appeared to be in charge unsummoned some dread wolves after setting them on one of his men. He ordered the rest of his troups to fan out and search for someone. Bad move, Vaxla thought. It's so much easier to get rid of people when I can pick them off one by one. Of course, it's easier to keep track of evryone when they're in a group, and that means there's less of a chance that I'll get shot. And I can definatly take all of them, especially since they don't even know that I'm here. Vaxla moved quickly. She moved close to a pair of the men, killed them with blasts of dark energy, and took their guns. She dropped her invisibility in order to allow herself to focus fully on the fighting. The confusion caused by her sudden appearance allowed her to get several shots off before anyone could do anything. Vaxla quickly prooved herself to be an excellent shot. She was running, spinning, rolling, and flipping all over the place while firing, and every shot was a hit. When she was done with the soldiers, she turned to their leader, who was busy drawing another summoning circle. Vaxla emptied her last few rounds into the circle, ruining the carefully drawn design. "If you try to draw aother circle, you're dead," Vaxla told the man as she dropped the guns and drew her poles. "I may be out of ammo, but I am an Elementalist, and more than capable of killing you from a distance. You'll have to fight me without the aid of any summoned beasts." "Which I am more than capable of," the man replied. "We'll just have to see about that. Let's go."
19. Personally, I think Without a Paddle looks very good. Oh, I saw Harlod and Kumar last weekend, which has to be one of the funniest movies of all time. Seriously, they have some hillarious stuff in there, including getting a cheetah stoned and the only example of 'toilet' humor I've ever seen a critic actually like. What all was released this week?
20. Name: Seuneu Age: 153 Gender: Male Race: Lai Class/Job: Fire Lai Abilities: Aside from the standard creation and manipulation of fire, Seuneu is unaffected by temperature extremes. He's also able to see into the infrared spectrum. When near a sufficcently hot heat source (a large fire, lava, that sort of thing), he is more powerful. Appearance: Seuneu is very tall, well over six feet in height. He has short hair that is the color of fire, and his eyes are the same color. They seem to glow when he uses his abilities. Seuneu is very strong, and he looks it. He's in excellent physical condition. Weapon: Two metal poles, fire-red in color, which he keeps strapped to his back. Alliance: Lai Personality: Seuneu is quite possibly the most dangerous enemy one could ever have. He's smart, he thinks fast, and he refuses to give up. He will do what he sets out to do. He's extremlyskilled in all forms of combat, including his powers, many kinds of weapons, and unarmed combat. He's also almost totally emotionless most of the time. He refuses to make friendly conversation, only saying things that matter. The only emotion he seems able to feel is anger.
21. It wasn't long before they heard the 'incomming message' signal. Sako went ove to the com unit and acivated it. "Hello," he said. "This is Sako." "This is Kitty," the person on the other end said. "We've decided to accept." "Good. I'm sending you the coordinates for my current location. The mods are paying, so use instantaneous transport. Sako out." Sako closed the channel. About a minute later, four people appeared. After introductions were made, Sako turned to face Rhym. "That was some nice piloting back there," he said. "Of course, Drake'll be pissed about what you did to his Falcron. You might want to watch your back." 'I doubt we'll ever see each other againm" Rhym replied. Sasko chuckled. "I wouldn't be so sure about that if I were you. I told him about this job, too. I haven't getten his reply back yet, but he may very well be joining us. Which reminds me. Garnok, when I last saw Drake, he said that he would have Rhym's character deleted." "If he tries, he's history," Garnok said. "Not even a mod can get away with deleting a character without cause, and Drake's not a mod anymore. If he even tries to get Rhym's character deleted, he'll be banned entirely." "Well, wih that out of the way, let's get down to business," Sako said. "Kitty, Rhym, Gray, Zisagawa, figure out which mechs you're going to use, then have Tarlomno there bring them in. Then do whatever until it's time to move out."
22. "What kind of things are these people wanted for?" Karalos asked Garnok. "It's mainly Kitty and Gray," Garnok told her. "There was some system theft, but the main thing was the belief that a friend of Kitty's sent her a hacking program when he was banned. I was one of the first to conclude that she doesn't have it, but many mods never made that conclusion. The Administrators agreed with me and instructed the mods to get off her back. They had to threaten removal of mod status to get the mods to cooperate, but the mods cooperated. It's been about a month real-time since we were actively hunting her." "She might not have noticed your absence," Sako said. "She and her companions might suspect a trap." "Well, that's their problem," Garnok replied. "It's not a trick." "Talking about it won't change the situation," Karalos put in. "Let's focus on other things. Garnok, what kinds of mechs are people going to be using?" "That's a hard question to awnser," Garnok told her. "We'll get all kinds of mechs, from Dancers to Hunters to Falcrons. I myself will be piloting one of the new Orbits. However, I can confidently say that we have plenty of heavy mechs. Several of the other mods will be using Tank-class mechs. Those things are slow as hell, but are unrivaled when it comes to both taking and dealing damage. No, if we're lacking in anything, it'll be more maneuveralble mechs." "Well, I was planning on using my Eagle-class," Karalos replied, "and those things are pretty maneuverable. What about you, Sako?" "My mech is a custom design, and it's currently under construction. It uses the new counter-grav technology that's in the Orbit-class mechs. This thing's going to be a definate contender for fastest mech there is, and it'll be one of the most, if not the most, maneuverable mechs there are. It'll be something like a Dancer in the air, only more maneuverable. Of course, this comes at the price of durability, but that's helped by an unusual feture. "Instead of armor, this mech will rely entirly on its shielding system to take damage. This has the advantage of not impacting maneuverability, and there's also the fact that the mech will be 100% functional pretty much until it's destroyed. Now, shields are usually less effective than armor, although this mech's shields will probably be stronger that I was anticipating. The counter-grav takes up less power than I thought, so I can have a stronger shield. of course, the main defense wil still be not geting hit. I'll have a profile for it ready before we go, so you can read that if you want more information. For now, let's just chill as we wait for others to arrive."
23. OOC: Albel, you rated this RPG PG for violence and language. A litle swearing is not going to upset the mods. ------------------------------------------------------------- Skao read Drake's message when it arrived, decided that it didn't need a reply, and went back to scanning the stolen mech reports. It wasn't long before he found what he was looking for. The Orbit-class mech had been stolen from Tarlomno's mech garage, which happened to be part of a mech production facility, one that frequently made new mech designs. Makes sense, Sako thought. Tarlmono's place has the newest mechs. It's a good place to find a new class. And it's on this planet, so I can get there pretty quickly. Sako's plan worked perfectly. He was gone in the Orbit before Damian even knew he'd been had. Before long, he was at Tarlomno's garage. Tarlomno took the mech into storage then returned and thanked Sako. "No problem," Sako said. "Now, I couldn't help but notice the unusual style of that mech. It doesn't have thrusters, but it can still be in the air, and it's good in the air, too. How does that work?" "Counter-gravitational technology," Tarlomno explained. "Expensive, but it lets a mech go fast when in the air. Excellent arial maneuverability, too." "Can you install the counter-grav device in a custom mech?" Sako asked. "Of course. Do you have a design in mind?" "As a matter of fact, I do. Do you have an Orbit mech under construction?" Tarlomno was puzzled, but he answered. "Yes, we do. You saw it in the garage area. It was the skeleton. If you're thinking of using it for something, that's fine as long as you pay a reasonable price." "Good. Now, here's my proposal. You provide the counter-grav device as payment for my return of the Orbit, and I pay for the rest. Now, here's what I want for this mech..." Using an Orbit skeleton for Sako's custom mech cut both cost and production time. The mech would be ready in one game day, as most of the work was simple equipment installation. In the meantime, Sako scanned for missions, only to be interrupted when someone stepped up beside him. "I have an assignment that I think you're quite suitable for," the man said. Sako knew that voice. He turned to face the man. "Hello, Garnok. It's been a while. What's a mod like you doing here?" "We're recruiting," Garnok explained. "See, we're tracking a big-time criminal ring, and they're hackers, too. We've got the location of their in-game hideout, so we're getting ready to go in. Problem is, there's not enough of us. You've helped us in similar situations, so when I saw you here, I decided to ask you." Sako knew exactly what the mods' problem was. They couldn't delete accounts without knowing the identities of the players as well as the characters. If they got their hands on the characters, they could identify the players, but capturing the characters was frequently difficult. A lot of the time, there were too many for even the mods to take on, and problems with true AI bots eliminated that option. Therefore, mods frequently turned to players for aid. Sako had given them such aid on two previous occasions. "I assume you need more players than just me, right?" Sako asked. "That's correct," Garnok confirmed. "Do you know of any who could help?" "I do," Sako replied. "the total number comes to seven, but four of them might be interesting to get the aid of. One of the other three's an ex-mod. You told me about Drake, remember?" "Drake would be perfect for this. I assume the other two are friends of yours." "One is. The other is Drake's companion." "What about the 'interesting' four?" "We'll get to them in a bit," Sako said. Karalos was first. Sako messaged her, and she quickly came via insantanious transport, free because she was going to be doing a job with the mods. Next were Drake and Kay. Sako messaged them. Drake, this is Sako. I'm taking you up on your offer of aid. The mods need help with a crimilan/hacker ring. You know the drill. All expenses will be paid for by the mods, so use instantanious transport if you decide to accept. The coordinates are attached to this message. Sako With that message sent, Sako told Garnok about the other four. "Let me get this straight," Garnok said when Sako was done. "The four are Gray, Kitty, Rhym, and Zisagawa. You, Drake, and Drake's companion fought against them in an attempt to take back a stolen Griffin. And now you want their help?" Sako nodded. "These people are good, Garnok. One of them held his own in a goddamn Terrapin. It was heavily modified, sure, but it was still inferior to everything else there, and the pilot held his own. He even dealt the finishing blow to Drake's Falcron. Trust me, these people will be excellent allies. The trick is getting them to agree to come in the first place. What are their records?" "Mostly in-game," Garnok told Sako. "There was a litle system theft, but nothing that deserves mor than a couple weeks' suspension. We're after much, much, much bigger fish, and we mods will be more then willing to erase the records of Kitty and friends if it means bringing down this ring." "Good. Now, allow them to keep the Griffin, and I think we've got a deal." "Then let's give it a try," Garnok said. Sako composed a message. Hello, Kitty. And hello to Gray, Rhym, and Zisagawa, as well. My name is Sako. I don't know if you've heard of me, but you've certainly encountered me. I was in the Hunter. I gave out your emmissions signature, and by now you've probably got about a half-zillion bounty hunters after you. I can change that. I have a deal to make. The mods need help dealing with a large criminal/hacker ring. there are too many bad guys for the mods to handle alone, so they're bringing in players. They've done this before. This time, I mentioned you as potential allies. The mods are willing to wipe your record clean-that includes both thief profession and system theft-if you and your companions agree to help. If you're interested, comm the attached corridinates. There'll be a reception-ready com unit here. You won't be traced, and the mods will take no record of our conversation. Give me a call. Sako ----------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: Well, Albel? Oh, Kitty and Rhym, it's your choice. Please do have Sako be informed of whatever decision is made.
24. Name: Vaxla Intunecat Age: 23 Race: Human Class: Elementalist of Darkness Class Description: Elementalists are able to access and control the elemental forces. An Elementalist can use one specific elemental force only. The most common ones are Fire, Earth, Wind, and Water, tough others, such as Darkness, are around. Unlike mages, Elementalists tend to have some skill with weapons, simply because their powers aren't as universal as a mages. AWater Elementalist, for example, is at a disadvantage when not neat the water, while a Darkness Elementalist is weakened by light. Weapon of Choice: Standard Elementalist staff design. Like all Elementalist staves, Vaxla's has symbols of her element carved all over it. An Elementalist's staff is used as a focal point for the application of his or her powers, but does not increase their power in any way. Most Elementalists are able to use their staves as weapons, and Vaxla is one of them. She aquired a second staff for the sole purpose of weapon combat, and she is extremly skilled. Weapon Style: Vaxla trained herelf. She built her own style from the ground up. Because her style is hers alone, nobody has ever been able to predict what she'll do. What side she's on: None, but fights against Deus Marich. Why she fights: Because she wants to kill Deus Marich. A BRIEF(!) History of the character: Vaxla knew herself as an elementalist at the early age of 7. Her parents were friends with another elementalist of Darkness. His name was Escuro, and he was a master. He agreed to train Vaxla in the use of her powers. When Vaxla was given her staff at the age of 15, Escuro offered to train her in weapon combat, although he wasn't as skilled in that area. Vaxla refused, deciding to develop her weapon skills on her own. A few weeks after her twenty-first birthday, her mother was kiled during an attack by the Mantaean Empire. Escuro was also killed durring the attack, but what really pissed Vaxla off was how they died. Her father turned out to be a secret supporter of Marich. Escuro died protecting vaxla's mother from him. He got Vaxla's mother after he killed Escuro. Vaxla promptly killed him. After that, it became her goal to kill the man who was ultimatly responsibe: Deus Marich. Appearance: Easily the most beutiful woman you've ever seen. She's also 100% natural. No part of her body has been altered in any way. Her looks are all-natural. She's very strong, but in a way that doesn't mar her beauty. Personality: if you flirt with Vaxla, you're more likly to lose an arm than you are to get anywhere with her. She's extremly anti-social. she'll work with others, but only if she must, and she won't socialize. If it's not important, she stays out of the conversation. Vaxla's also very smart, and very quick-thinking. She's also very determined; if she starts something, she's going to finish it. All in all: Vaxla is probably Deus Marich's worst enemy.
25. Not a good selection last week, which probably explains why nobody's posted here. However, I'd like to know what came out yesterday, so do you think you could post that information?
