Drake obviously doesn't know shit about me, Sako thought. If he did, he wouldn't have bothered offering. No, I don't want to join his crew. He doesn't play my type of game. Besides, I don't take orders. Sako went over to one of Kasharo's terminals and composed a message. The answer's no, Drake. You just don't play my type of game. I'm a fighter, not a scavenger. What you do is not something I want to do. Sako Sako turned away from the terminal to see a man talking to Kasharo. Sako knew that man. What the hell's Damian doing here? Sako wondered. He must be dumber than I thought, showing his face in another mech shop after the number of times he's been caught. Some thiefs just don't know anything. Damian walked out to the garage area, and kasharo was about to follow when Sako held him up. "I know that man," Sako told Kasharo. 'his name's Damian, and he's a thief. Strictly in-game, though. Nothing against the rules. Just an in-game thief, but one who doesn't give up. I've caught him twice before, and I'm not the only one who has. He's probably here to steal something." "He already has a mech," Kasharo replied. "An Orbit-class. it's a new class;you're probably not familiar with it. the Orbits are among the top AAA mechs." "Then he's already stolen it, and neds to fuel up," Sako said. "And you're going to do just that, without doing anything to indicate that you're onto im. While you do so, I'm going to scan the mission lists to find out who he took it from. After that, I'll steal it from Damian and return it to its owner." "Got it." Kasharo followed Damian, and Sako returned to the terminal. A stolen mech of a new AAA class would probably be reported almost immediatly. As soon as Sako learned who it was stolen from, he'd steal it from Damian and return it. -

Drake, kay, and Sako were at Kasharo's shop and their mechs were all undergoing repairs. Sako's required the least, due to the fact that he chose his actions carefully and wasn't actually participating in most of battle. Drake's Falcron needed the most repair work. Fortunatly for Drake, Kpart of the deal was that all damage would be repaired. While Drake and Kay sat around, Sako was busy talking with Kasharo. Eventually, their conversation ended, and Sako walked over to Drake and Kay. "I've got good news," he told them. "We're getting paid after all." 'What?!" Kay exclaimed. "How'd you manage that?" Drake asked incredulously. "Even that beat-to-hell Terrapin got away." 'True," Sako agreed, "but to escape, they brought their ship into my sensor envelope. And Hunters have the best sensors available. I was able to get a read on their emmission signature, which can be used to trak them. I gave the data to Kasharo, and he agreed to pay us. We're not getting the full four hundred thousand, but we're not getting the two-twenty for destruction, either. He's paying us the average of the two. We're getting a total of three hundred sixty thousand, which means one-twenty for each of us. We're lucky Kasharo's CG, because a human player probably wouldn't have given us anything. But Kasharo, as a CG character, doesn't care about the cash as much, because he doesn't need it. Besides, he knows that the theifs can't hide forever. He knows the emmission signature of their ship, so he'll find them eventually-unless they change ships, of course, but that's not our concern. "By the way, I had Kasharo profile mech garages, and we found a likely candidate. I think the fourth member of their party is named Rhym. What'd you say the other names were?" "Kitty, Gray, and Zisagawa," Drake replied. "Good. I got them right. Kasharo's filed a wanted for them. IF you two want to chase them, go ahead. I'm going to chill here for a while." -

"I told you not to charge the Orchist Beam," Sako told Drake. Drake ignored him, focused 100% on the Griffin. Kay was fighting the third mech, so Sako targeted the damaged Terrapin. Why the hell's he using a Terrapin in this kind of battle? Sako wondered. As Sako landed in front of the Terrapin, he was able to see how much damage the mech had taken. Which was why he wasn't surprised when the pilot curled it into a ball. That was his only hope for survival. What the pilot didn't know was that the RLD-H could still get through the armor to do some serious damage. What Sako didn't know was that the pilot didn't intend to stop fighting. sako barely reacted in time when the Terrapin cuddenly shot toward him. Sako jumped over the Terrapin. The Hunter's leg was cliped, but no serious damage was done. Sako spun in midair so that he was facing the Terrapin as he landed. He quickly fired at the Terrapin with his RLD-H. Only one of the two rockets hit, but both rockets from Sako's second shot were on target. Sako commed the Terrapin's pilot. "I'd think about surrendering now if I were you," he said. "I don't think so," the Terrapin's pilot replied. "I'm not out of this yet." Sako laughed. "You're missing a leg. That ramming trick of yours-which was quite clever, by the way-won't work now, because I know about it now, and if you uncurl to use any other weapons, you're an easy target, and much more vulnerable. I'm sure you can figure out that the odds are in my favor." "I don't care about the odds." "Nor do I, but that doesn't change the fact that they favor me. With your mech in its present condition, I don't see any way you can possibly take me. I offered you a chance to surrender. You chould have taken it." -
Vaxla ate her breakfast quickly and in silence, than left the meal chamber. She walked toward the training area. Tala's a potential enemy now, too, Vaxla thought as she walked. Seriously, why did she expect me to believe that line about how being a demon doesn't mean you're evil. Being evil is part of the definition of 'Demon'. I've seen too much from Tala to believe that she's a demon even after hearing that, but she may be working for or with demons. Of course, it's far more likely that she's been manipulated into aiding demons without realizing that she is. Avian's the most likely candidate for manipulator. I should tell the others, but I don't know who to trust. Any of us could be like Tala. i'll have to be sure of a person before I tell him or her. I can start with the newbies. There hasn't been time for Avian to get to them. I'll start with them, then. I can't believe I'm actually finding a use for them. Anticipating that the new Changers would eventually show up in the training area, Vaxla entered it with her poles. As she waited, she practiced. ---------------------------------------------------------- OOC: I told you she was paranoid, didn't I?

Vaxla woke up early. She knew that Tala was usually up early to cook, and Vaxla needed to talk to her, preferably without anyone else hearing. Vaxla found her in the kitchen. "We need to talk," she said. Tala looked up. "Good morning, Vaxla. What's up?" Vaxla chuckled. "What are you laughing about?" tala asked. "The person I need to talk to you about is frequently 'up'," Vaxla explained. "I'm worried about Avian. I think she might be trouble." "Why am I not surprised?" It was a retorical(sp?) question, but Vaxla answered it anyways. "Because it make sense when you think about it.' "Avian being an enemy?" "Avian being a demon." Tala didn't expect that, not even from Vaxla. "A demon?" Vaxla nodded. "A demon." "And just what makes you think this?" "It's pretty simple when you think about it," Vaxla told her. "Nuria's parents were demons, which explains why she changes into a demon, right?" "You don't think so, do you?" "Correct. I don't think Nuria has a demon form. I think she's a demon, one with a human form. Of course, that makes her sister avian a demon, too." "But Tala changes into a hawk." "She does," Vaxla agreed. "Which means that if I'm right and she is a demon, then she has more than one other form. A demon Multi-Changer. But even that's not the worst part. The other Changers trust avian. I'm sure that you do, too, but I don't anymore. Not when I'm convinced that she's a demon. Anyways, none of the others will suspect her of being an enemy. I'll tell them what I just told you-excluding Avian , of course, and without her hearing-probably one at a time, but I doubt that they'll believe me. One or two might, however, and even if nobody believes me, at least we're all aware of the possibillity."

I'd like to read some more of this story. Any idea when you''ll have the next part up?
-
My most-hated cliches are: 1: The female character inserted just so there can be a love story. I have no problem with female characters (although I do dislike the unrealistic proportions), but don't put one in just to make a love story. I almost never like love stories, but ones involving a female with no other purpose are the worst. 2: The 'I don't want to kill you' type of hero. These heros go around kicking ***, but as soon as a cut-scene comes around, they start whining about how they hate killing and never want to kill anyone. And if they do end up killing, say, the main bad guy, they start whining abut that, too. 3: The hero who sets out to kill the bad guy only because the bad guy's doing bad things. I hate it when characters risk their lives to help some far-away land that they've never heard of. Seriously, why would you do that? I prefer characters like Caim from Drakengard. He's not fighting the Empire because he wants to save some land he's never heard of. He's fighting the Empire because the Empire killed his parents and is trying to kill his sister.

Vaxla, as she always did when danger was approaching, thought about what she knew, and formulated theroies about the big picture. And there usually was one, too. Rarely were things what they at first seemed to be. This time, her theroies were based around Nuria and Avian's parents being demons. The first thing she considered was the posibillity that Nuria and Avian's real parents had been dead for a long time, and the demons were just pretending to be their parents. Vaxla considered that unlikely. Impersonations usually didn't work out. Eventually, somebody noticed something. If Nuria's real parents actually were demons, then it followed that Nuria was also a demon. Which meant that, like her parents, she was able to assume a human form. If I'm right, Vaxla thought, then Nuria isn't a human Changer with the form of a demon. She's a demon Changer with the form of a human. Vaxla's next conclusion, if accurate, possibly represented a greater danger than Nuria. If I'm correct, if Nuria's a demon instead of a human, and her parents were demons, then her sister has to be a demon, as well. And Avian hasn't given anyone any reason not to trust her. Hell, she even told us about Nuria. Which means that the others won't suspect a thing. Which means that, if I'm right, my 'pranoia', as everyone calls it, will gain quite a bit of credibility. I keep telling the others that everyone has their demons. In Avian's case, I think that's literal. Of course, i could be wrong, and in this case I sincerely hope that I am. Because if I'm right, then there's going to be a lot of trouble at some point down the line.
-
If Nuria knows the Multi-Changers' weaknesses, then she probably knows ours, as well, Vaxla thought. After all, we're not quite as hard to figure out as the Multi-Changers. Their forms share a common weakness, but we only have one form each, and it's usually much easier to see a weakness in one thing than it is to find identical weaknesses in many. I'm probably one of the easier ones. A phoenix is a bird of fire, after all, even though the made-of-fire appearance of my phoenix form, as well as some actual phoenixes, is misleading. Fire is vulnerable to water, so if Nuria can find some way to produce a water-based attack, and if she's skilled enough with it to hit me, she can bring me down. Of course, that assumes I'm in phoenix form, and unlike the others, I'm just as deadly in human form as I am in phoenix form. Not even Nuria knows how skilled I am with my poles. She wasn't bad with a sword by any means; she even beat me a couple times. Of course, I've kept up my training. She probably has, too, but I was a bit of a faster learner than she was. Not much, but a little. She was more experienced. The two of us are probably evenly matched now, unless she's improved more than I' guessing she has. Of course, there's always the possibillity that Nuria's not the real threat, that there's someone or something that's allied with her, or using her. I think that's the most likely senario, and if it is true, that being is probably a true demon, unlike Nuria, who, as far as I know, is a Changer with a demon form.. And a demon doesn't exactly have a high weapon vulnerability. Of course, us and the Multi-Changers can probably take any demon. Hell, we and the Multi-Changers can probably take Nuria even if she's more powerful than those other two demons, even if she does know our weaknesses. Tala and Avian either underestimate us or overestimate Nuria, and their decision to find new Changers on Earth could cause problems. After all, inexperiance is one of an enemy's deadliest weapons.

Vaxla intercepted Roc has the werewolf attempted to leave. "You're not going anywhere until I get some answers," she said. "I thought you'd say something like that. You normally do." "Good for me. Now, what the hell is going on here?" "Tala will explain all when she returns," Roc told her. "Not acceptable," Vaxla replied. "I want answers, and I want them now. Tala wouldn't go to Earth unless something major was happening. We should be able to handle pretty much anything that comes at us, and for the things we can't, there are the Multi-Changers. Why the hell do we need people from Earth?" "Because we won't be able to defeat our foe on our own, and the Multi-Changers will die if they attempt to fight." Vaxla was prepared for many possible replies. That wasn't one of them. "Why the hell can't the Multi-Changers fight?" "Because the enemy knows how to defeat them," Roc said. "And just who is the enemy? Nuria, Avian's sister, isn't powerful enough to take us on even without the Multi-Changers, and I doubt that she could defeat one of them even if she does know their weaknesses. So that means there's some other force at work here. Some other foe who is using Nuria. Is there any clue as to this being's identity?" "Nuria is stronger than she was previously. I do not know how, but Avian might. Nuria's her sister; if anyone knows how Nuria became stronger, it's Avian. I'm sure she will return when Tala is back with new Changers. At that time, we will know all that she and Tala know. Until then, you must accept the fact that I can't give you any more information."

Gaming Your games and what you think of them
GuyYouMetOnline replied to 2010DigitalBoy's topic in Noosphere
My turn. Multi-Platform Enter the Matrix: Underrated. Not as good as it should have been, but better than most people think. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time: Great game. The time powers are cool, the environemntal puzzles make getting from A to B a blast, and the vissions you get prevent figuring out what to do from being too difficult. The only problem is that their isn't enough combat. Oh, and the final boss is way too easy. Prince of Persia: Warrior Within: Much better than Sands of Time. Fixes the flaws, and keeps the things SOT got right. There's more fighting, and it's a lot more balanced. You won't find yourself having to rewind in combat too much. It's also a good deal harder. Viewtiful Joe: I love this game. It's not the kind of experience games like Warrior Within, Metroid Prime, and Zone of the Enders are, but it's one hell of a fun game. Viewtiful Joe 2: Pretty much the same as the first, which is a very, very good thing. There are a couple parts that are irritating as hell, including the final boss fight, but other than that, this game is awesome. PS2 Drakengard: I had trouble getting my parents to let me buy this game. It's the one game I've played that deserves its M rating from the story alone. With things like a necrophiliac, the scarriest person of all time (a little girl who appears to be possessed by something), and giant killer babies (yes, giant killer babies), the story needs no help from the actual game, which gives it some anyways. The game is great fun, and the multiple gameplay styles (dogfighting from the back of a dragon, attacking ground troops from bragonback, and fighting them yourself) create a lot of variety. Zone of the Enders: The main character sucks, but other than him, this is an awesome game. Except for him, the overall storyline of this game and its sequal (see below) is great. the game itself is awesome, too, although the squad-based encounters take a bit of getting used to. Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner: Much better than the first, this game improves on almost everything from the original. The main character is actually likable, the storyline gets a lot more interesting, the graphics are better than every other game I've seen (except the two Metroid Prime titles), and the game itself is a blast. Gamecube: Ikaruga: easily the hardest game I've ever played, but very enjoyable. The polarity aspect makes for a surprisingly deep strategy requirement, the bosses are great, and unlike many hard games, this one isn't maddening. You die a lot, but there aren't any 'cheap' deaths. Metroid Prime: Awesome. I had my doubts when I learned that it would be first-person, but this game is pure Metroid. If you call it a first-person shooter, your excuse had better be that you've never played it, because if you have plow that it isn't an FPS. It plays like the 2D Metroid titles, but in 3D. Metroid Prime 2: Almost as good as the first, but not quite. There are some very cool new upgrades, such as the Seeker Missile Launcher, but some of them, mainly the new Beams, aren't quite as good. Beams aren't supposed to have ammo. Also, I don't like the dark world. Constant damage is not something I enjoy having to deal with. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker: Overrated. Fun, but overrated. People seem to see the words 'Legend of Zelda' and immediatly assume it's one of the best game ever made. It's not. It's a good game, but it's not up to par with other Zelda titles. -
Gaming Which company has influenced the industry the most?
GuyYouMetOnline replied to Morpheus's topic in Noosphere
I think that the xbox has made the most influence in video games because, no one expected it to do so well.
That just makes it a surprise success, not a huge influence.
Some people say that the xbox has bad graphics but that is not true. The xbox has the best graphics of the ps2 and the Gamecube.
You seem to be forgetting about games like the two Metroid Prime games (Gamecube) and the two Zone of the Enders games (PS2). Those beat the crap out of any XBox title I've seen in the graphics department.
For instance take a look at Halo 2. When Halo 2 came out November 9th. It sold 2.5 million copies in that single night. I mean that is really big just for a game.
So one game does well. Big fricken deal. How many killer titles has Nintendo had? More than one, I can tell you that much.
Microsoft is gonning for a tough appeal. Nintendo is gonning for a kiddie appeal, and sony is gonning for a wanabe appeal. Maybe if Nintendo whould stop making Mario Party 5, then maybe more adults whould play it.
Jesus, that pisses me off. Every time I hear it, it pisses me off. The Gamecube is not a ******* 'kiddie' system, dumb-****. How many people are going to let their kids play Resident Evil? Eternal Darkness? Killer 7, once it's released? Hopefully none. Just because a system has games that appeal to kids doesn't make it a ******* 'kiddie' system, jackass.
You couldn't give me a million dollars to have a gamecube.
You have no right to put down a system you've never used. Try some Gamecube games (and don't stack the deck by deliberatly choosing games geared toward younger people), then come back.
For one thing The game disc is the size of my mouse. You can break it so easily.
Disc size? Big ******* deal. I guess you absolutly hate the PSP because it won't have full-sized disks. As for durabillity, I've never had a problem with a Gamecube disc, while PS2 disks give me plenty of trouble. Not that you know how durable a Gamecube disc is, seeing as how you're never going to use one. I think you're making that up simply to give you another point of attack against Nintendo.
And the Gmecube's grapics aren't perfect.
I'm sorry to hear that you hate yourself. Any yes, you did just tell me that you hate yourself. You hate yourself because of the fact that you're not perfect. Nothing's perfect, asshole. Imperfection is not a reason to hate something.
All I'm saying is that the xbox has changed the world foever.
That shows how little you know. First of all, XBox isn't exactly doing well in countries such as Japan. And even in America, it hasn't really 'changed' anything. Seriously, how can you not say Nintendo? Without Nintendo, there might not even be a video game industry today. -
Not bad for a first chapter. Most of the opening chapters I've read are pretty boring, but that was pretty good. There is one thing I think you should change, and that's Rex's reaction to finding out he's in a new world. He seems to have accepted this very quickly, and that's not very believable. I mean, if you were in his position, you wouldn't be so quick to accept all this impossible stuff. I know I wouldn't be. I'd probably never accept it (well, maybe after a few years I would, but certainly not after a few minutes). My suggestion is simple: change Rex's reaction to everything that's happened, making it more believable.
-
Well, I just finished watching Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and it certainly met my expectations. I really don't see what the problem people have with it is. Unless they expected something that wasn't a zombie-action movie, that is. Seriosly, Apocalypse isn't the kind of movie that has a great plot, but I don't mind. That's not why I watch movies like that. If I want a good plot, I'll watch something like Antitrust (which is an excellent movie, by the way) or The Mancurian Candidate (which I'll probably watch tomorrow night).

Name: Vaxla Age: 21 Gender: Female Form: Phoenix Appearance: She has shoulder-length black hair, and brown eyes. She's quite tall, measuring well over six feet. Vaxla's probably the most beutiful woman you'll ever see. She's very athletic/gymnastic (whatever you want to call it), and is quite a bit stronger than she looks. She carries two metal poles with her for use as weapons when she is in human form, and she's very skilled with them. She keeps them strapped to her back. Form Appearance: The Phoenix is a mythical fire bird, and Vaxla's Phoenix form appears to be made of fire, although this appearance is misleading. Phoenixes are among the larger creatures, although they don't come close to the size of most dragons, and Vaxla's form is on the large side of the scale. Personality (I know this isn't required, but it's important for Vaxla, because her personality is not what one might expect): Vaxla is a very smart person, and a very quick thinker. She can find a way out of almost any situation, and she can do it quickly. Vaxla may be beutiful, but she doesn't like the attention that gets her. Any sexual or romantic advances toward her are likely to leave you with a broken limb. Vaxla is very antisocial, although she's willing to work with others. Just don't try to engage in small talk with her. She'll talk about what's relevant to the task at hand, and only what's relevant to the task. Hope that's okay. Tell me if I need to change anything.

Haven't seen any of those, but I expect good things from Resident Evil: Apocalypse. It just seems like the kind of movie I'd enjoy. As for last week's, the only one I've seen is Shawn of the Dead, and that was absolutly hillarious. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen.

ROrohiko and the others found themselves in a very large chamber. There was what looked like an alter of some kind in the middle, and unlike everything else in the Network, it wasn't made out of stone. Rorohiko didn't really notice, however. His eyes were on the men he saw running into a different tunnel. One in particular caught his eye. He knew that man. "Shit!" "What is it?" Aria asked. She and Rin had also noticed the other group, but they didn't recognize anyone. "I know one of those people who ran into that tunnel. His name is Victor Trolmont. He's an authority figure in a cult that operates more like a terrorist organization. Among other things, they believe that Satan created certain Pokemon, and Absol's on the list. I've encountered them many times before. They keep trying to kill me, but they aren't very competent. At least, most of them aren't. Trolmont is another matter." "Why are they here?" Rin wanted to know. "And while we're at it, how did they get in here?" "They probably made their own entrance. The Network extends under the entire Hoenn region. With the right equipment, it wouldn't be hard to make another entrance. I don't know why they're here, but we can assume that we won't like whatever they're doing, because we won't. Trust me, these people are not friendly." Rorohiko had Rin land Flygon, and hopped off. "I'm going after Trolmont," he told Rin and Aria. "You two keep following Erivel. Look for his tracks. They should be easy to spot. His paws weren't exactly normal, after all. We'll keep in touch with those communicators we got before entering the Network." And with that, he was off.

Who's excited about this game? I know I am. Star Fox: Assault is a return to the standard Star Fox formula. Made by the same people responsible for Ace Combat 5, Assault is about the invasion of the Lylat system by the Aparoid Insect army. Andross's nephew, Andrew (remember him from Star Fox 64?) also shows up. Andross himself seems to be out of the picture, although I won't be suprised if he shows up. Assault has the Arwing, of course, as well as the Landmaster tank. A new feture is the addition of on-foot missions, which look like they're going to be fun. They are my only worry, as the Arwing and Landmaster have prooven themselves in previous Star Fox games. As always, the bosses look like they're going to be great fun, and the story also seems to be a bit deeper. This is one game I'm not going to miss.

OOC: Well, I got back earlier than I expected. -------------------------------------------------------- Sako hadn't yet fired a single shot. He was analyzing the attack pattern of the Griffin, and wondering about that still unmoving third mech. Then it hit him. These people think the Griffin can take care of both Drake and I. The third mech is holding back in case support is needed. They've probably picked up the Orchist Beam, and it'll undoubtably come rushing in if Drake starts to charge the thing up. Sako opened a channel with Drake. 'Don't use the Orchist Beam," he said. "That third mech's probably waiting for you to start charging." "Understood," Drake replied. "Think you could lend me a hand with the Griffin?" "Just waiting for a good opportunity. If I time this right, that damn Griffin won't know what hit it." Drake stopped talking as the Griffin charged him again. Whoever's piloting that thing doesn't seem to be thinking straight, Sako thought. Clearly a skilled pilot, and probably has piloted a Griffin before, but not thinking clearly. Anger, maybe, or overconfidence. Whatever it is, it's certainly a good thing. The weapons aren't doing so well, though. Whoever's acting as gunner on that thing is skilled, but probably not familiar with a Griffin-clas mech. And that suggests a logical course of action." Sako waited until the Griffin was facing away from him and made his move. He charged the Griffin. When the gunner noticed him, he or she {OOC: Sako doesn't know who's in the Griffin, remember} fired the rear shoulder cannons. Sako cut the thrusters and dropped altitude rapidly, one of his favorite moves. Before the gunner realized what had happened, Sako pulled out the RLD-H and fired twice, sending four rockets into the Griffin's underside. ----------------------------------------------------------- OOC: I think I should probably explain the system I've been using for the weapon identifiers. No, you don't have to use it. I just think you should know how I come up with the identifiers. 1: The first two letters indicate the type of weapon. For example, 'EP' means 'Explosive Pistol', while 'RL' means 'Rocket Launcher'. 2: The third letter provides an additional description. 'T' means the weapon is designed to be used in pairs. 'D' means that the weapon fires two shots at once. 'E' means that the weapon is an energy weapon. If no additional descriptions apply, then 'S', which indicates that the weapon is designed for one to be used at a time as opposed to the 'T' weapons that are used in pairs, is used. 3: The letter folowing the '-' indicates wether or not the weapon is specialized for a particular mech class. A 'D' indicates a Dancer-specialized weapon, while an H indicates a Hunter-specialized one. An 'A' indicates that a weapon is equally suited for use by all mechs. Hope that made sense. -
RPG Aqualaria: A Universe of our own PG-VL
GuyYouMetOnline replied to Albel the Wicked's topic in Theater
"Kay's engaging a Terrapin," Sako informed Drake. "That other enemy mech isn't doing anything yet. I'll keep an eye on it, and I'll help you with the Griffin until it makes a move." "Got it," Drake replied. "Griffins are tough, so go with your heaviest weapon. What do you have on that thing?" "Standard wing-mounted missile launchers are probably the best bet," Drake said. "'The best bet'? What else do you have?" "Standard energy gun, an energy sword, and lasers in the fingers. Oh, and an Orchist Beam." That one shocked Sako. "You have an Orchist Beam on that thing?! Jesus Christ, Drake! What the hell did you have to do to get that thing? Never mind, it doesn't matter. Just use the damn thing! Yes, I know it takes a long time to charges, and the Griffin's quick enough that you probably won't get a dircet hit, but even a nick with itwould beat the shit out of the damn thing." "It akes too long to charge," Drake replied. "I'll cover you. Sure, we'd both take heavy damage, but our employer is covering repair costs, and with me covering you, I doubt that they can take you out before you can fire. In fact, we'll cal Kay up here, too. The two of us should be more than able to keep you alive long enough. It's your choice, ofcourse, but that's my recommendation." ----------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: I'm going to be gone for two weeks on vacation. Albel, when the battle ends, have Sako leave with his part of the money (unless you end p with a different outcome than mine, which it doesn't look like we will). Kitty, address your PMs to Albel instead of me. -
I forget the actor's name, but the character was Curly in the movie City Slickers: "I **** bigger than you". Two more quotes from City Slickers. I believe the character was Clay Stone, but I don't know the actor's name: "Great gobs o' goose ****!" "Two weeks ago, y'all was as useless as hen **** on a pump handle."

OOC: Blanko, I assume you meant 'mother's sister's kid', as that's what we agreed on. -------------------------------------------------------- Rorohiko looked down at Kira. I knew she looked familiar, he thought. However, if she expects me to forgive her actions, she's wrong. Rorohiko turned to Erivel. 'It's about time you gave me some answers," he said. With that, Erivel left through one of the many tunnels. Rorohiko swore vehemently for about a minute, causing every concious person to stare at him. He didn't seem to notice. Rorohiko did notice Aria, Rin, and Joy. He got Joy to, with the help of Chansey's Softboiled, heal Absol. Absol would need to rest before entering another battle, but he was quite fine. With Absol healed, Rorohiko turned to Aria. "I'm going after Erivel," he said. Are you coming?" "Sure. I have a few questions for him myself." "Then let's get going." A man watched from the shadows as Erivel departed. He had seen the entire battle, and had also seen Rorohiko. And he knew who Rorohiko was. I have to get back to Trolmont, he thought. Trolmont needs to know. -------------------------------------------------- OOC: I'm going to be gone for two weeks on vacation over the holidays, so Blanko gets full responsibility for this RPG until I return.

Didn't watch it and don't plan to. I only read the first book, and it sucked. Part of the problem was author Ursala K. LeGuinn's writing style, which made it almost impossible for me to understand what was going on. It got better near the end of the book, but not better enough. Yes, I'm aware that watching it instead of reading it would solve that problem, but the story sucked, too. First off, if you read the back of the book, you don't need to read the book, because everything that matters is revealed there. The back cover of a book should give you enough information to tell you what the book is like, but withhold enough so that it's still interesting to read the book. Even without the back cover, I could have easily predicted almost everything that happened, and did easily predict pretty much everything that wasn't on the back. I hate that. I like to be kept guessing, for it to be difficult to figure things out. I do like solving mysteries and predicting events before they happen, but only if there's a challenge to it. With A Wizard of Earthsea, it was easier than reading the book.
