Akansola had detected Phelan's aproach and notified Treana. When Phelan chose to reveal himself, Treana wasn'tas surprised as she would otherwise have been. Enyo wasn't surprised, wither, as she also had felt his mind. Treana went into another near-instantanious conversation with Akansola. [Who is he, and what does he want?] [His name's Phelan, and he's curious,] Akansola told Treana. [He wants to know what we're doing. He doesn't seem to have hostile intentions, but is confident he can take you if you decide to attack him.] [He actually thinks he can take me/ even without any help from you, I could kick his ass.] [He knows this. he's not thinking about fair combat. He's like you, unusual. He has power over gravity.] [He's an experiment?] [Yes. He is, and he doesn't know that you're one. Same goes for Enyo. He doesn't know who Enyo is, but he's assuming she's just a normal girl.] "I don't have time to deal with you right now," Treana said. "This girl here and I are about to break into a top-secret research facility, and we'd appreciate it if you didn't interfere. We have no business with you. Get the hell out of here before I have to make you." "Threats, treana of Koteiro? relax, I'm not here to fight." "I don't care why you're here. Stay out of our way." treana and enyo resumed walking towards the NASA facility. As they did, Treana had Akansola enter Phelan's mind. Phelan found himself incredibly disoriented, having trouble even seeing straight. By the time he recovered, Treana and Enyo were closer to the facility than he wanted to go. ----------------------------------------- OOC: Gemini_Phoenix, if you want,Phelan can talk with Treana after she and Enyo are done in the NASA facility. -

"You got lucky today," Katai said as Rorohiko threw his Pokeball, releasing Absol. "I only brought two Pokemon with me. You might actually almost win." "If you only have two, this won't be difficult at all," Rorohiko replied. "You won't win, Rorohiko. One disadvantage of using only a single Pokemon is that it's easy to know what to expect." You've never actually seen me battle, though, have you? Rorohiko thought. I think you'll be surprised a few times. "Let's just get on with it," he said. "Choose your first Pokemon." "I already know who I'm going to start with. Go, Scizor!" "Let's make this quick, Absol," Rorohiko said. "Hit it with Fire Blast!" Scizor flew over the attack, then moved in and attacked with Slash. Absol dodged and used Slash himself. Scizor dodged, then moved back and used Double Team. "That won't help," Rorohiko said. "Absol, Shock Wave!" Absol's Shock Wave attack revealed which images of Scizor were fake, as it was a wide-area attack. It passed through the fakes. The real Scizor was hit, and therefore revealed as real. It flew at Absol again, attacking with Slash just like before. this time, Absol took the hit, then spun quickly and hit Scizor with Fire Blast before it could escape. And Scizor was very weak against fire. It went down. "Prety good," Katai said as she returned the fainted Scizor. "of course, I'm not done yet!" "Just send out your other Pokemon, and let's get this over with." -------------------------------------- OOC: You finish it, Katai. -

As they neared the NASA facility, Treana retook conrol of the body. "We're here," Enyo said, pointing it out. "Be careful. they are ready for us." "I don't think they have a clue about what we're going to do to them, but yes, they will be as ready as possible. But I think we can handle anything they've got." "The place is locked down," Enyo said. "Breaking through the wall will take some time." "Who said anything about that? We're going to let them open the door for us." Enyo looked at her. "What do you mean?" "Simple. We're going to walk straight at the place. I'm sure they's gotthis whole area under observation. They'll see us coming, recognise us, and send men out to re-capture us. When they do, the'll have to open the door. We'll use that opportunity to enter. Do you know where to find one of the bosses in there?" "Yes." "Good. In that case, you lead the way. Don't show any mercy to these people. Kill anyone who is armed, because They'll be after us. Now, enough talk. Let's do this." -
Katrina made her way to the ship's cafeteria to get some food. She was just finishing her meal when the guy from earlier walked in, the one who had punched out the ticket collector. As soon as the guy got his food and sat down, Katrina stood up and made her way over to him. She tapped him on the shoulder. When he turned to look at her, she decked him right in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. Katrina took a couple steps backwards, putting herself out of the guy's reach. She waited a few seconds for him to recover, then said, "Didn't like that, did you? Well, other people hate it, too." "Who the hell are you?" "Just the person who got the man you almost killed to the sickbay. You're lucky I don't want the cops after me. Otherwise you'd be in even worse shape than him." The guy stood up. "Yeah? Why don't you back that up?" "No," Katrina said. "A bastard like you isn't worth my time." The guy was really pissed off now. He ran at Katrina, but Katrina was prepared. He hadn't seen her do it, but she'd grabbed one of her Pokeballs and readied it. when he charged, she dropped it, releasing Gardevoir. The Psychic-type acted fast, telekinetically throwing the guy to the ground. "You think you're so though," the guy said, "but you're just hiding behind your Pokemon. And I'd bet that they can't stand up to mine." "Why don't you proove it?" Katrina replied. "I'd be happy to take you on in a Pokemon battle. I'll be on the port-side deck. Come find me if you want to accept my challenge." And with that, she returned Gardevoir and walked off.
-
Katrina was quick to act when she saw the ticket collector go down. She ran up to him and called to the nearest crewman for help. "This man needs a doctor," she said. "Can you show me to the sickbay?" "I know where it is," the crewman told her, "but we may not be able to get him there in time. It'll take too long to move him." Katrina pulled out a Pokeball. "You leave that to me. Go, Gardevoir!" She threw the ball, and the Psychic-type Pokemon emerged. "We need to get this man to the sickbay," Katrina told Gardevoir, "and we need you to move him. Cn you handle it?" Gardevoir nodded, and Katrina turned to the crewman. "Lead the way." The doctor on duty looked up as the door slammed open. A crewman ran in, followed by a Gardevoir levitating an unconsious and badly injured crewman. A female Trainer brought up the rear. The doctor wasted no time. "Put him on the table over there," he instructed. Gardevoir moved the man over the indicated medical table and lowered him down gently. The doctor went right to work. After a few minutes, the doctor looked up from his patient. "It was close, but he'll live. There's been a lot of internal bleeding, and I think his skull is chipped. What happened to him, anyways?" "I saw it," Katrina told the doctor. "Some asshole decked him in the face because he wanted a tip." "What?!" the crewman explained. "Jesus Christ!" "I agree,"' Katrina said. "If I ever see that guy, he'll wish he hadn't done it." With that, Katrina returned Gardevoir, then left the sickbay.

I reccommend we remove the levels. Levels never, ever work well in an RPG. Trust me, I've had the experiance. Levels in one of these just doesn't work. Anyways, here's my sign-up: Name: Katrina Alkarlo Age: 21 Gender: Female Appearance: Although she doesn't exactly meet society's definition of 'beutiful', there are none who would call Katrina ugly. She's reasonably good-looking, but she really doesn't care about that. She's also in good physical shape. She keeps her body in good shape. Most Trainers do, because they normally walk everywhere, and you have to be in shape to walk everywhere with enough supplies to last until you reach another town. Personality: Katrina is one serious trainer, and she's good. She was the Pokemon League Champion two years ago {yes, Kitty said that was all right}, and is the favorite to win this year's tournament, which she's training hard for. She pushes her Pokemon to their limits, forces them to push themselves. However, she never pushes them past their limits. She knows when to be hard on her Pokemon and when not to. Katrina can seem obsessive about her training sometimes, but compared to many other Champions, she was extremly laid back. She didn't win by having Pokemon more powerful than anyone else's; she won by having the best strategy, by knowing more than her opponents. Her Pokemon aren't the only ones Katrina pushes; she's just as hard on herself. She makes sure she knows everything she can before going into an important battle, and she's always honing her strategies. Katrina is one of the most knowledgeable people there are when it comes to training and battling. If information there to know, she knows it and has probably put it to use. Her stratigies, both pre-planned and thought up on the spot, are extremly good. She's not a Trainer you want to face. Katrina can seem very critical of others. She's always pointing out mistakes thatother Trainers make. She's just trying to help, but is frequently seen a criticizing and rude. Once you get to know her, though, you'll find that she's anything but. In particular, she cares a lot about her brother, Rorohiko, a young researcher obsessed with solving the mysteries surrounding the Pokemon Absol. Katrina may be hard to get to know, but once you do, she's pretty likable. Line-up: 1: Absol 2: Flygon 3: Metagross 4: Scyther 5: Gardevoir 6: Lapras Extras: Electabuzz Herecross Machamp Magmar Gyarados Houndoom Salamence Jynx Sceptile Now, you'll notice I didn't put levels for the Pokemon. That's because I don't think we should use levels, as a level system just doesn't work in these RPGs. If you want me to, Kitty, I'll add them, but I reccommend you do away with the level system.

OOC: Actually, Xy GGu, I've been amazed by how well sakurasuka seems to have your character down. You made him an asshole yourself. -------------------------------- After they had left Oak's lab, Rorohiko handed out the Pokeballs. "These are Pokeballs," he explained. "You use them to catch Pokemon." "I know that already," Scott snapped. "Don't wste my time with things I already know." Rorohiko turned to face Scott. "I'm going to explain everything I think any of you might need to know. I don't give a shit about wether or not you know it, Scott. I'm going to say it anyways. You should pay attention. you might learn something." "I heard Professor Oak call you a researcher," Scott replied. "What makes you think you know anything about training and battleing that I don't?" Rorohiko couldn't help laughing at that one. "You have no idea what I've been through," he told Scott. "I could run down the list, but I don't want to take the time to do that. Instead, I'll just say that in addition to my own experiances, my sister taught me a lot. You might have heard of her. Her name is Katrina Alkarlo. She was Pokemon Leaugh Champion two years ago, and she's the favorite for this year's tournament." Scott didn't have a reply to that one. Rorohiko turned to face the others. "Let's get going, shall we?" --------------------------------- OOC: Hope I got your character right, Brookline. If not, tell me and I'll edit. -

"If you're going to stay with me, then there are things I have to tell you," Treana said to Enyo as they neared Koteiro HQ. "See, I know you can read minds, and many of the people in the Koteiro gang are not nice people. You will pick up a lot of... unkind thoughts, and I'm sure many of them will be directed at you. For example, there will undoubtably be thoughts of abusing you. You must not react to these thoughts. Only react if someone actually makes a move intended to threaten you. Just don't kill anyone, and don't use your powers." "Why must Enyo not use her powers?" "Because we need to maintain the apperance of normal human beings," Treana explained. "We can't let them know we're not normal. You can read their minds, because they won't know you're doing it, but nothing else. Besides, if you read their minds, you'll know what they're going to do. That alone should be all you need." As they approached the factory, Treana knew exactly what would be happening. A scout would see her and Enyo approach, and would pass word that she was coming with an unknown person. Kajo would go out to meet them, taking a couple men with him for protection. He would look for a signal as to which identity Treana was using, and would be shocked when she didn't give one, but he would say nothing about it. And that's exactly what happened. It was while Kajo was walking towards them that Treana made her decision. I should go now. The longer I wait, the more they'll have recovered from Enyo's escape. If I go now, they won't be as prepared. Kajo got right down to business. "Who's this?" he asked, indicating Enyo. "This is Enyo. She will be remaining with me for a while. I believe she can help me learn what happened to me. She's already pointed me in the right direction. Now all I need to do is get to the right people. Unfortunatly, the longer I wait, the harder this will be to do. Which is why I'm going now. Tonight. In fact, I've told you now, so I have no more reason to delay." "Tonight? Are you sure about this, Treana?" "I can handle it," Treana assured Kajo. "Don't worry. It may be a couple days before I'm back, but I'll definatly be back." With that, Treana turned around and left, followed by Enyo. I hope Treana knows what she's doing, Kajo thought as he watched the two of them walk off. As they walked, Treana let Akansola take control. enyo noticed a difference, but knowing she would get no answer, she didn't ask about it. While Akansola was in control of the body, Treana's mind was able to get some rest. It wasn't quite sleep, because the body didn't get to rest, but it was the next best thing, and it would help a lot when they reached the NASA facility. And Treana was willing to bet that they'd need all the help they could get. -

Oak turned back to Rorohiko. "As I was saying, I'm wondering if you would be willing to accompany this most recent group of new Trainers." "Why?" "There are several reasons, not the least of which is that having experienced trainers around is helpful for new trainers. It's always good to have someone who knows what he's doing to help the new ones figure out what to do. i do have other reasons, though." Professor Oak ran through the list of reasons. "Will you do it?" he asked. "Let me get this straight," Rorohiko said. "You want me to accompany new trainers. Surely you're aware of the danger my presence would put them it. There are people trying to kill me. I don't think that's something new Trainers should have to deal with." "They aren't after the others. It's you they want. Won't they just ignore the others?' Rorohiko shook his head. "It's far more likely that they'll see the others as unknowing allies of Satan and try to convert them. But whatever. I'll go with the newbies. Now, I think they're waiting on you." -

Rorohiko had been to Oak's lab many times before, so he definatly knew where it was. He had no trouble getting in, as all the staff recognised him. He'd helped Oak on several occasions. Of course, Oak had helped him, too. He was simply returning the favor. Rorohiko was shown to the room where Oak was. The professor was talking to a confused-looking female. He heard Rorohiko enter and looked up. "Rorohiko, good to see you,' he said. "Likewise," Rorohiko replied. "Who's this?" he asked, indicating the girl. "I'm Rin," the girl said. "I'm Rorohiko." Rorohiko turned back to Oak. "How've things been going?" "Not bad. I've been making progress in my research, but not as much as you have. In fact, I'm surprised you haven't gone pubic with your findings yet." "If I did that now, other researchers would discredit my findings with the whole Pressure thing. They'd say that I'm wrong because of that. People will believe that, especially since I'm the guy who demonstrated that there is a connection between the Pressure phenomenon and the whole disaster thing. I'm still working on that problem myself, and I'm not going public untill I have the answer." "I can understand that. Now, let me finish up with Rin, and then I'll be right with you." "Got it," Rorohiko said. He found a chair, sat down, and waited. -

Brookline has given me permission to use a character I've used in two other Pokemon RPGs. Important stuff from these two RPGs is included in the bio. Name: Rorohiko Age: 17 Gender: Male Description: About 6 feet tall, with brown hair and eyes. He is of average build. He almost always wears shorts and a t-shirt. He's in very good shpae, mainly because of all the walking he does with a heavy supply pack on his back Personality/Bio: Rorohiko is a very determined person. If he decides that he wants to do something, he's going to do it. He can be very single-minded, and he's willing to do anything he has to. He'll say what he thinks without considering the feelings of others, but he isn't out to make enemies or to hurt anyone, and he doesn't like to threaten people. He's also a smart person, and a very quick thinker. When Rorohiko, a native of Hoenn, was 9, he happened to hear the TV when his parents were watching a news broadcast. What he heard was that Lavaridge, a place pretty far from his home in Lilycove, had been the site of an earthquake. The loss of life had been small, because many residents had seen an Absol the previous day, and so had already evacuated the area, telling others to do the same. The newscaster went on to breifly explain that Absol only appeared to humans before a disaster of some kind, such as an earthquake. Rorohiko was facinated, and he wanted to know more. When he discovered that not much more was known about Absol, he decided that he'd figure it out. Two years later, his sister Katrina, a very skilled trainer, encountered an Absol durring her travels. She caught it, left the area before any kind of disaster occured, and gave the Absol to Rorohiko for his birthday. Rorohiko was quick to bevelop a bond with the Absol. Eventually, he learned to understand his Absol as if it were speaking English. he can't understand any other Pokemon, not even another Absol, because his understanding of what is Absol says is based on his Absol's unique manner, as well as the sounds his Absol makes. Rorohiko has never caught another Pokemon, and has no plans to ever do so. His Absol, being the only Pokemon's he's trained for six years, is very, very, very powerful, and has a wide range of moves that, when taken together, allow it to defeat most Trainers' teams of six Pokemon. Rorohiko's search for the answers to the mystieries surrounding Absol attracted the attention of a cult that functions more like a terrorrist organization. The cult (it has a name, of course, but only members know the name) sent a man named Victor Trolmont to convince Rorohiko of 'the error of his ways'. Of course, that involved trying to convince Rorohiko to give up his search, and Rorohiko didn't like that. He ended up literally beating everythiing that he could about the cult out of Trolmont. The cult's beliefs center around the conflict between God and Satan. They believe that Satan was responsible for creating certain Pokemon, such as Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Groudon, and Kyogre, to destabilize and/or destroy Earth. They also believe that God countered by creating Pokemon, such as Lugia and Rayquaza, to nullify the effects of the Satan ones. Absol is on the cult's 'Satan-made' list because of the whole disaster thing, and Rorohiko's refusal to give up trying to sovle the mysteries surrounding Absol marked him as an active and willing ally of Satan in their eyes. The cult keeps trying to have him killed, but they are, for the most part, incompetent, and Rorohiko is always able to survive. He knows that this cult won't stop trying, which makes him very alert to any possible threat. Rorohiko has made significant progress in his search. He was on an exploration team sent to explore a newly discovered underground labrynth of tunnels and chambers that people called simply'The Network'. It was there that he encountered a previously unknown Pokemon. This Pokemon was named Erivel. To put things simply, Erivel is the ancestor of Absol. Erivel also has the ability to cause natural disasters, which is a likely source of Absol's tendancy to appear before nartural disasters. He believs that Erivel's ability weakened throughout the generations until it became Absol's tendancy to appear before disasters. Mystery solved? Not quite. See, Absol has the Pressure ability, which causes opposing Pokemon to tire twice as quickly. But Erivel does not have this ability. Rorohiko is currently attempting to determine where the Pressure phenomenon originated in Absol. Meeting Erivel brought him closer to his goal, but he's not there yet. Pokemon: Absol -

New recruits always found it odd that boasting was grounds for a challenge, but eventually they got used to it. Any claim could be challenged, because a false claim was considered dishonorable. Which is why one had to be extremly careful about making claims. If you weren't, you could wind up in Alno's position. Alno was out of his leauge, and he knew it. The only reason he had accepted the challenge was that refusing it would have meant that he had no honor, which meant that his own gang would have killed him, and slowly. At least the challenge would result in a quicker death. Alno made one last attack, swinging both poles at once. Treana was able to dodge one, and the other she parried with one of her poles. Which left her with a free pole. She swung it low, and she swung it hard. The blow broke Alno's left knee, and he went down. Treana steped back and put her poles away. Alno managed to look up at her. "Are... are you going to kill me?" he said. "For what reason?" Treana replied. "The duel is over. You lost, I won. Killing you when you can no longer fight back would be a dishonorable way to conclude a duel. No, you can live." Treana walked over to the group from Koteiro. "Good job," Kajo said. "You did well. Now, I see no reason to stick around here. Let's get back to base." [Noy yet,] Akansola instructed Treana. [There is someone watching. I can feel her presence, but I cannot enter her mind. She may be another like us and Alec. We should remain here and speak with her.] Since it was all thought communication, there was no noticable delay while Akansola was 'speaking' to Treana. "You go ahead," Treana said. "I think there's someone near here who might know where I've been, why I've been missing for over two months. Don't worry, I'll make it quick." Kajo nodded his understanding and led the Koteiro group back towards their base. The Marja group also left, Alno being carried. When Everyone was gone, Treana looked around but couldn't see the observer. "I know you're here!" she called. "I don't want to hurt you, but I would like to speak with you!" [She is coming,] Akansola told Treana. [You should not use a false identity with her. Even with me denying her access to our minds, I believe that she will know if you are lying.] There was a sound behind Treana. She turned around and saw a young-looking girl. The girl appeared perfectly normal, but Treana knew that she wasn't. She didn't know what the girl was. "My name is Treana," she said. "Who are you?" The girl didn't respond. [She's trying to communicate using telepathy,] Akansola informed Treana. [I have not let her into our minds.] "I can't let you into my mind," Treana told the girl. "You'll have to speak normally." "Enyo is not used to speaking," the girl said. "Your name's Enyo?" "Yes. Are you like me?" "Probably not exactly like you," Treana replied, "but we're both certainly not normal. I've been trying to figure out what happened to me. I was living a normal life, then suddenly I'm missing more than two months' worth of memories, and I'm not normal any more." "You were changed?" Treana nodded. "Yes, I was." "Enyo was not changed. Enyo has always been as she is. Enyo is an experiment. She was created by scientists." "Created? They made you from scratch? And they gave you powers? Interesting. Sounds like you're a step past me in whatever these scientists are trying to do. Do you remember where it is that you were made?" "Yes." "I need to go there, but not tonight. Tell me where it is, and I'll go tomorrow." Enyo gave Treana the location. "Thank you," Treana said. "Now, I don't want to say anything about my powers, but because I've asked you a few questions, it's only fair to allow you to ask me some. So, is there anything besides my powers you want to know about?" -------------------------------------------- OOC: Take it from here, Neuvoxetere. -

Treana watched Alec leave. [He is afraid of himself,] Akansola remarked. [He worries that he will end up killing more people than he already has. He can't yet fully control his powers, and this scares him. It's quite understandable, actually.] [Well, he doesn't really have any significance to us, at least not right now. We may run into him again, but there'sno reason to follow him. Besides, I have to report back to Kajo.] "What happened out there?" Kajo asked as Treana approached him. "One of our sentries reported seeing a lot of fire. He says you were by the house that lit, but he couldn't see you through the buildings. He just saw the fire." Treana couldn't tell the truth, for obvious reasons. "That kid started the fire, I think. I didn't actually see what he did, but I saw the house start burning. I confronted the kid. Didn't get anything besides his name, Alec, but he was clearly scared shitless. Don't know why, though." A sentry hopped through the window again. "We've got five from Marja in the area. They're heading towards the fire. Looks like their second-in-command, Alno, is leading the group. There are three other men, presumable bodyguards, and then a woman that's prbably Jako's girl, along for the ride." "We need to intercept," Kajo said. "We follow standard procedure. They bring five, we'll take five to meet them. Same group composition, too. Treana, that means you're coming." "Got it." Kajo led Koteiro's group out to meet the Marja group. Kajo was flanked by Arlo and Selto, two very large men. Sako, a smaller guy but more of a skilled fighter, was directly behind Kajo. Treana was beside Sako, and mostly hidden by Arlo's bulk. When the Marja group saw them, they assumed a similar formation as they approached. "This is our turf," Kajo said. "What the hell are you doing here?" "One of our boys died when a diner in our territory burnt down," Alno answered. "We're after the one who started the fire." "Well, I'm sorry, but you'll have to chase him somewhere else. Leave now, before we make you." Alno laughed. "We could take you five before your sentries even knew what was happening. And a personal challenge won't help, either. I can take any one of you any day." Treana took that as her cue. "I don't think so," she said. Arlo moved to the side as she stepped forward. As soon as he saw her, Alno's face went completely white. He'd just screwed himself over, and he knew it. He just couldn't understand how it had happened. He could have taken any of the other four, but not Treana. But she shouldn't have been there. She was supposed to be dead! "I call you to defend your claim," Treana said. "I challenge you defend your claim and your honor in single combat against me." Alno had to force the words out. "I have no choice but to accept your challenge." And it was true. To refuse a direct challenge would be the worst thing anyone could do. One unwilling to defend his or her honor was seen as not having any. And that usually meant that your own gang would kill you. After agreeing on the location, the two groups returned to their respective bases. Alno and Treana would meet in three hours to fight. "You sure you're up to this?" Kajo asked Treana when they were about to leave for the battle area. "I can handle that guy," Treana assured him. "Remember, I may have been missing for over two months, but to me I haven't even been gone for a day. Don't worry, I'm as good as ever. Now, shall we go?" Several Koteiro members went with Treana, including Kajo. They would be there as spectators, and several from Marja would be there as well. But they would do nothing. The fight was between Alno and Treana only. The battle would take place near the park in an old burnt-out school that had never been rebuilt. Alno and the others from Marja were already there. Like Treana, Alno's weapons were two metal poles. They were easy to find, and made very effective melee-range weapons. [Do not interfere,] Treana instructed Akansola. [Not even if I'm about to die. Moniter the others. If anyone makes a move to do anything, make it impossible. Don't hurt them, just disorient them, maybe induce some nausea and make 'em puke. Just enough to keep them from interfering.] [Understood.] Alno and Treana faced each other with weapons drawn. "Are you ready?" Treana asked. "As I'll ever be. Treana made a well-timed dodge, causing the boy to sail past her. This opponent was clearly not what anyone would call normal. Treana would be in trouble if not for her own unusual advantages. [Akansola, take over! Kep human form, but otherwse do whatever you have to. Just don't kill him. He may be related to whatt happened to me.] Because it was entirely internal, it had taken Treana very little time to 'say' what she 'said.' Akansola's taking control of the body was also quick, and was done before the opponent was able to turn around. The boy came flying back at Akansola, but never reached her. Akansola reached out with her mind, telekineticly pushing the boy into a wall. He didn't have time to put himself out, so the currently empty house he hit started burning. The boy sent out a stream of fire at Akansola. However, she was able to read the move in his mide before he made it, and so had an easy time dodging the attack. Using telekinesis, she expedited the house's collapse, forcing the boy out into the open. the two of them faced each other. [Let me handle the talking,] Treana told Akansola. [I'll take control, but I want you to stay alert. Keep watching his thoughts. If he looks like he's going to attack again, take over and deal with him.] "That was an interesting display," Treana said. "I don't know how you did that, but you are probably equally unknowing of how I did what I did. If you choose to continue fighting, I will have no choice but to kill you. However, I have no desire to do so. A fight was never my intention." "Then what do you want?" "Well, let's start with your name." "It's Alec," the boy said. "What's yours?" Treana knew better than to give her real name to a total stranger. Fortunatly, Koteiro had worked out a system. every member had at least two false names, and hand signals were used to indicate when a false name was being used and which name it was. These signals looked like ordinary movements to everyone who didn't know their purpose, but everyone in Koteiro would know the meaning and use the person's appropriate false name until the person indicated that there was no longer a need to do so. "My name is Kana," Treana said. "I don't know what's going on here. Do you have any idea how you got the powers you demonstrated?" "No. I don't remember what happened." No information from him, then, Treana thought. At least, no direct information. He may still have clues. I'll have to keep talking to him as Kana. The whole nine yards, too: Kana's personality, Kana's job as a martial arts instructor, Kana's everything. Nothing about Koteiro, Akansola, or anything else about my actual life comes out. "You may know something that's useful to me," Treana said. "As you experienced, I have certain abnormal abilities of my own. I choose not to reveal their extent, but you've seen enough to know that I have them. And like you, I don't know why I have them. I would appreciate it if you could tell me anything you do remember. It may help me solve this puzzle." -

Treana made her way through the factory, not really surprised at all by how little had changed in the time she'd apparently been gone for. Koteiro had a working system, and aside from a few minor adjustments, their system was exactly the same as it was when first implemented. Basically, everyone had a job. Maintaining the place wasn't hard, but it was a big place, so several people were assigned to that at any one time. Others were on sertry duty, or out doing whatever needed to be done. If you didn't have something you were currently doing, it meant you were sceduled for a break durring the current shift. Not everybody lived at the factory, although a good number did, Treana included. But there were quite a few members who actually held respectable jobs, frequently well-paying one. What money they didn't need personally they used to supply Koteiro. Sure, needed items were stolen if necessary, but something as large as Koteiro could not be maintained by theft alone. Because of this, anyone with an actual job was one of the gang's suppliers. These people coordinated among themselves, figureing out who was in charge of buying what. And when there was enough extra cash saved up, items other than the necessities were purchased. Koteiro owned a surprising number of fiction books (Koteiro has an unusually high literacy rate for a gang), a few TVs including two HD sets, VCRs, DVD players, a large selection of movies in both formats, a rather impressive selection of video games along with every past and present major console, and large number of radios and CD players, along with a large selection of CDs to choose from. Everything was always kept at a volume too low to be heard outside the factory, and all recreational activity abruptly ceased if a sentry shouted a warning. If someone tried to atack, Koteiro gave them a fight, and they would always win. They had men positioned for maximum effectiveness, and they all knew the area well. They always repelled attacks successfully. Eventually, Treana found the man she was looking for. Kajo was second-in-command of Koteiro, and she'd been his girl before the over two months that she'd been gone for. "Nice to see you, Treana," Kajo said. "We'd assumed that you were dead, or the cops had you. I'm glad we were wrong. I'd love to know what did happen." "So would I. I have no memory of the time I've been gone for. Our fight with Grex was interupted by the cops, and I ditched the two cops who chased me. Next thing I know, I'm waking up behind a dumpster in some alley. I came back here as quickly as I could." "Well, your return caused quite a ruckus. I hope you didn't have any problems getting in." "Well, Kalom finely worked up the courage to try and rape me, but there were no other difficulties." Kajo laughed. "Kalom finely gave it a go, huh? I hope you didn't beat him up too badly. He may be a dick, but he's useful." "He'll be recovering for a few days, but nothing more. The only thing I actually broke was his nose. Oh, and his ego." At that point, a sentry leapt through the nearby window. "We've got an unknown headed our way," He told Kajo. "Dude looks paniced. He's running in our general direction, away from a dead cop's body. A dead cop's burning body. It looked to me like this kid lit the copper on fire and freaked out. He may very well end up running in here out of sheer panic." "I'll cut him off," Treana said. "Yes, Kajo, I know I just got back, but this shouldn't be difficult. I've never met anyone I cvan't handle." Besides, she thought to herself, It gives me a chance to test Akansola's abilities in a real situation. Before Kajo could say anything, she was off. She headed outside and had Akansola locate the kid, easy because of she sheer panic he was feeling. Treana moved to intercept him and find out just what the hell was going on. ------------------------------------------------------ OOC: Tag, Anarchy -

Treana had kept walking, paying no attention to the rain. The rain didn't bother her; she actually welcomed it. She seldom had access to sufficcient water for cleaning herself, so any chance for a wash was always welcome. A while after the rain had stopped, Treana saw a burning coffee house. After stopping to let the heat dry her off, she resumed walking. [People could be dying in there,] Akansola remarked, [yet you act as though nothing is wrong.] "People die every day, and there's nothing anyone can do about it. Besides, if I saved anyone, I'd get my face plastered all over the city, and that would be a death sentence. I can't make myself conspicuous. That would just make me an easier target to hit." [Cold, but true. I happen to agree with you.] It was late afternoon by the time Treana reached her destination, the headquarters of the gang Koteiro. The place was an abandoned factory. Almost everything inside was either useless or had been stolen when Koteiro moved in. What was left had been canabalized for any useful parts, then broken into pieces that could be used as weapons if necessary. Kotiero never discarded anything; they found a use for everything. Treana's approach was seen by one of the sentires a couple minutes before she actually reached the factory. Recognising her, the sentry quickly ducked into the building to notify the gang of her approach before returning to his post. Treana was intercepted outside of the building by a man she recognised, Kalom. He was a big guy, and strong, too. He was used to using intimidation to get what he wanted. The fact that he was no match for even a moderetly skilled hand-to-hand fighter never seemed to register with him. [He's out to get you,] Akansola warned as Kalom approached. Not wanting to risk anyone overhearing her and thinking she was losing it, Treana replied mentally. [Kalom's threatened me a lot, but he's never gone through with anything.] [He intends to this time. His mind is easy to read. He intends to rape you.] [I hope he tries. I've been waiting a long time for an excuse to beat the shit out of him.] By this time, Kalom had closed the gap. "Treana! What the hell happened to you? Jesus, girl! We thought you were dead, or the cops had you. You realize you've been gone for over two months?" Treana didn't let her surprise show, but she was shocked internally. I've been gone for more that two months? What the hell happened to me? "I haven't been able to keep track of the days," she said. "Well, whatever. Welcome back, girl. You want to celebrate the occasion with me?" "No thanks," Treana replied. "I don't do anybody with a negative IQ." "Damn, do I like 'em when they're nasty. You and I are a match made in heaven." "Personally, I consider our compatability about that of Jesus and Satan, or maybe us and the Grex or Marja boys, but you're welcome to your own oppinion. Or you would be, if that rock in your head was capable of having one." Kalom did like girls who weren't afraid to be mean, but Treana was going a bit too far for him. "I was actually considering going easy on you, but you've pissed me off. I don't feel like being nice anymore." "You try anything, and I'll kick your ass so hard that shit comes flying out your mouth." That one really pissed Kalom off. "I think you need to be put in your place, bitch." Kalom charged Treana, which was a very bad move on his part. Before he knew what happened, he was on the ground with a broken nose and bruses in places he didn't even know existed. Satisfied, Treana left him lying one the ground in pain, and made her way into the factory. One of the men standing guard looked outside and Kalom, then turned to face Treana, who shrugged. "He made the first move." ---------------------------------------------------- OOC: Just to be sure you know, Grax and Majra are the names of other gangs. -

The last thing Treana remembered was a fight with a rival gang that had been interrupted by the cops. As per standard procedure, everyone had scattered, making their way back to headquarters individually after making sure they had lost any pursuers. Treana had been chased by a pair of cops, but had easily lost them. The next thing she knew, she was behind a dumpster in an alley somewhere. Treana wasted no time trying to figure out how she'd gotten to her current location. There would be plenty of time for that later. her first priority was to figure out where she was, then make her way back to headquarters. Once she was safe there, she could think about the how as much as she wanted. Treana emerged from the alley. Not recognising any of her surroundings, she made her way to the nearest street corner. She knew the streets well, and the street names alowed her to figure out her current location. She plotted a route back to headquarters, and was about to start walking when she became extremly dizzy. She was able to duck into the nearest alley and conceal herself behind some trash cans before she became too disoriented to move. It faded after about a minute, and Treana stood up. She still had a headache, but was able to walk. She starded towards headquarters. Her mental energies were devoted entirly to figuring out what was happening to her and what to do about it. She did not think about the how or the why, as those would not help her deal with it. When it was at its worst, Treana hadn't even been able to think clearly. She needed plan in case it started to happen again. [Highly practical. I like that.] Startled by the new voice, Treana grabbed the first objects she saw that could be used as weapons, the lids of the trash cans she'd hidden herself behind. "Who's there?" she called. [My name is Akansola. Don't worry, I have no intention of doing you any harm. Considering my current situation, doing so would be extremly foolish of me.] Treana didn't put the lids down. "What the hell do you mean by that? And where are you? How about you show yourself?" [I'm afraid that that isn't exactly possible.] "Why the hell not?" [Because I hapen to exist inside you.] Treana wasn't easily surprised, but that one gave her a shock. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" [I mean exactly what I said. I exist only inside you.] "Sorry, but I can't accept that that's even possible. You'll have to do something major to get me to even consider that possibility." [All right. You have slept with fifty-five seperate people over the past two years, most of which were for cash. The ten that weren't were part of your working your way up the chain of command. You anticipate becoming the boss's girl within the next month. There have been thirteen attempts to rape you. Only one of the would-be rapists survived the attempt, and he was missing his genetalia, among other things.] That got Treana's attention. "All right, I think I'm willing to consider the posibility of what you say. But unless you can come up with something else, I'll probably remain unconvinced. [Very well. I will give you proof.] And Akansola did. Treana suddenly found herself unable to control her body. No matter what she tried to do, her body was not under her control. After a few seconds of this, there was a new sensation, after which her body was not there anymore. She didn't have time to figure out what she was before her body returned to normal and she regained ontrol of it. "All right, I'm convinced. Now, would you mind telling me how the hell this is possible?" [Unfortunatly, I don't know that any more than you do. Oh, you don't have to talk. you can just think your questions, and I will hear them in the same manner as you are hearing me.] 'I'm not ready for that quite yet," Treana said. "Anyways, would you please explain just what the hell you are, and what you're capable of?" [Certainly.] And she did. As Treana walked, Akansola explained what she was and what she was able to do. They also had pleny of time to work out agreements for control of the body, and for use of powers. lastly, they began practicing as Treana walked. They had ample time, as it would take Treana a few more hours to reach HQ. She intended to make use of the time. -

This looks like it could be good. Tell me if there's anything wrong with my character. Name: Treana Alkalero Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: Treana is a very tall woman, well over six feet. She's strong, athletic, and can pull off moves you normally only see in gymnastics competitions. She's also very good-looking, and it's all-natural. However, she's normally unkempt, dirty, and wearing cloths that most people would have thrown out long ago. She also carries two metal poles, her weapons, with her pretty much at all times. She keeps them strapped to her back. Power: Treana was, to put it simply, an accident. She was one of the few attempts at combining two unrelated powers in one person, and as with the others, this attempt failed. However, unlike the other failed attampts, Treana didn't die. Treana was intended to have both strong psychic powers (the whole set; telepathy, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, etc.) and the ability to change into virtually any kind of creature, including mythical beasts. Instead, Treana ended up sharing her mind with another being. The other being in Treana's mind, Akansola, is an anomaly as far as NASA is concerned. Nobody can explain how she is possible, and these are the people who've given people psychic abilities, shaeshifting powers, etc. What baffles them is that Akansola has a body of her own. The body can be changed from Treana's to Akansola's at will. And Akansola's body is not human. Akansola is a dragon. NASA scientists could understand even that. What baffled them was that instead of Treana gaining powers, a new being was created in her with the powers intended for her. Not the sapeshifting, however; Treana and Akansola can only swicth between their two forms. But Akansola has the mental abilities that were intended for Treana. And in addition to those powers, the fact that the minds of Treana and Akansola are combined in the same body is very useful. One mind is in control (normaly the one whose body they're using), but the controling mind can be switched an any time. Personality: Treana is very antisocial, but not to the point where she isolates herself. She just doesn't socialize. She'll work with others, but if it's not related to whatever task they're doing or important in some other way, she won't participate. She's a fast thinker, and very smart. She's also the last person to give up. Akansola is a lot like Treana. Like Treana, she prefers agreesive methods instead of more diplomatic solutions. she'n not the type who interrogates people; she'll take the information she wants right from your mind, and she doesn't care what happens to your mind in the process. Of course, she can tell allies from enemies, and avoids harming allies if at all possible. Bio: Treana has few memories of her early life. The cause of her amnesia is unknown, but she's accepted this. There's nothing she can do about it, and she needed to focus on survival. See, she lives on the streets. Treana doesn't remember why, but she has no home. She used her looks to get taken into a pretty large gang, and lives with them. She worked her way up the ranks, and was sleeping with the second-in-command when she went missing. The gang assumed she was dead, not knowing that she was taken by NASA. -
Well, I expected that Cloud would be a popular choice, but I can't say I'm too happy with it. Seriously, what is so special about him? I've never played FF VII, but I can tell you this much: Cloud can't possibly be as awesome as he's made out to be. Surely there's something negative about him, but everyone seems to ignore any negative aspects of his character (and if he's the type of male lead that almost every RPG I've played has, then I know I'd absolutly hate him). Also, what is so great about Lloyd and Zelos? Zelos, especially. I mean, the guy's just a jerk toward Lloyd and Genis (not that I particularly care about Lloyd), and his attitude toward the females is... I really don't know how to put it in words. Man, did I enjoy
kicking the crap out of him
. Oh, and as for Lloyd, I just can't stand characters like him. Seriously, what is up with the whole 'upset because your worst enemy just died' thing? Then there's the fact that he has no clue about the real world. He's just so damn naive. Now, I do have a favorite swordsman: Caim from Drakengard. You just can't touch the guy. He doesn't shed tears for dead enemies, but just keeps on killing. And this guy can kick some serious ***. Oh, there's also the fact that his motive has nothing to do with the goodness of his heart. He's out for revenge. And the whole mute thing combines with the rest to make him into a total bad-***. He's just awesome.

Just one thing, Venge. Matthew needs to be willing to work with more than two people. He doesn't have to like it, but if he refuses to do it, he wouldn't be chosen for the mission our characters will have. Now, here's my sign-up: Name:Jaht Galtok Age: 26 Gender: Male Appearance: A very tall man at about 6 ft. 5 in. Very fit, as are most DWI agents, and naturally thin. He has short, black hair, and brown eyes. He has a scar on his left ankle, one on his left knee, and another on his right elbow. He usually wears shorts and a t-shirt with a smart-*** remark written on it. Personallity: He's very into his job as a DWI agent. Sure, it's dangerous, but he has fun with it. He doesn't take huge risks, though, and he's not cocky. He just loves his job. He's a very fast thinker, and has a good mind for strategy. He's also very determined, and very critical of those who give up. He's one of the best agents DWI has. When not on a mission, Jaht can usually be found in one of three places: in the workout area practicing, in his quarters reading sci-fi books (with the occasional fantasy novel thrown in), or in the rec center playing video games. He has a tendancy to screw around when off-duty (although he has regular practice sessions in the simulator), but when he has an assignment, he's very focused. Area of Expertise: Strategy, both before and durring a battle. He's also very good at solving puzzles, at taking limited information and figuring out what's happening and what to do about it. Digimon: Hawkmon Digivolution Chain: Hawkmon-Aquilamon-Sylphimon-AincientIrismon -
One thing everyone at DWI had drilled into them was the need for speed. Often, a couple minutes could be the difference between survival and death. This was less necessary for those who remained at HQ than it was for the feild agents, but it was still important. So when Kurt Banco recieved the 'your presence is required' message, he dropped everything and quickly made his way to Monitering Area 1. Kurt was met by Cal Tolmonson, MA 1's head watchman for the current shift. Cal got straight to the point. "We've got a problem, Sir," he said as he led Kurt over to the his station, the best one in the room. "Code Theta-3." "****!" Kurt swore. A Code Theta signified that all members of an op team were either dead or presumed dead. Theta-3 had the added meaning that at least some of the team's equipment was missing. If any of the equipment was reverse-engineered, it could mean serious trouble for other op teams. "What's missing?" "One state-of-the-art transfer-call unit." "Son of a *****! Someone took a transfer-call uint? ****!" "It's intact, but too damaged to be functional," Cal told him. "That only buys us time. If whoever has it can reverse-engineer it, we're in deep ****. Is the homing beacon still operational?" "Yes. As soon as the signal stops moving, we'll have a location." "We have to get that thing back," Kurt said. "We need to put together a retreival force. Do we have any information on the enemy, or will the selection program be working blind?" "There was a functional recorder active when the team was taken out. It's damaged, but I was able to get something from it. I'll put it on-screen. Hold on." Cal accessed the transmitted recording and put it onscreen with full enhancement. The recording was still very blurry, and there were missing parts, but the basic series of events was easy to determine. The team was on a routine patrol when something took them by surprise. The attacker wiped them out pretty quickly, then started looking for something among what equipment was still intact. Eventually, it took the transfer-call unit and left. Cal terminated playback. "I ran a reference check on the attacker's blurred image. The system was able to match identity with a 96.7% chance of accuracy." Cal put the result on the screen. "Of everyone who's encountered this one before, Jaht Galtok and Soloa Harklam were reccommended by the system. The other teammates are currently being selected by the system. The list sould be ready for approval momentarily." "it better do a good job," Kurt remarked. "That guy's extremly dangerous, and we'll probably only have one shot at this. We can't afford faliure." All right, let me explain a few things. This is a variation on an RPG I did a while ago. The concept was good, but the rest was less than optimal. I've kept the same concept, but changed the story completly. Hopefully, this one will do a bit better. Now, the basic concept of this RPG is that while most of the world has no idea that Digimon or the digital world exists (meaning no shows, cards, anything), there are those who do. The discovery of the digital world was made accidently by a group working on developing a true vortual-reality interface. Soon after discovery, the top-secret Digital World Investigation facility was established. Located underground in the Nevada desert, virtually nobody knows about the facility aside from the people who live there. This include staff, researchers, and the feild agents. Basically, everyone affiliated with it lives in the facility. The feild agents are in charge of doing whatever needs doing in the digital world. If there's any information or sample the researchers need, feild agents get it. If there's any possibility of a security breach, feild agents take care of it. And if it looks like the digital world is in deep ****, feild agents have to fix things, as any major problems in the digital world will affect the real world as well. Now, these feild agents have Digivices. Created by one of the DWI research teams, the Digivices have prooven invaluable. A Digivice is able to create a link between a human and a Digimon, allowing the Digimon to Digivolve. Currently, the Digivices can only get a Digimon to Ultimate, and several research teams hard at work tring to get them to allow Mega-level Digivolution. Though this link is functional no matter what stage a Digimon is in, it can only be established with a Digimon in the Rookie stage. When their training is complete, new feild agents are taken to the digital world to find Digimon partners. Feild agents are carefully evaluated before they are even approached by DWI recruiters. These people are devoted to locating the perfect candidates. When a candidate is found, he or she is approached asn asked if he or she is willing to abandon the rest of the world and take on an unspecified and dangerous job. It's a mark of success that they've never gotten a 'no'. The candidates are taken to the facility after undergoing the most intensive background checks ever. There, they are put through an unbelievably rigorous training program. They are then allowed to get partner Digimon, after which they're trained with their new partners. By the time this is done, even the newest agents are very, very good. Note: The year in this RPG is 2023. Now, let me specify two things. 1: The feild agents are professionalls. This RPG will have none of the 'confused, helpless humans' thing that other Digimon RPGs have. Instead of that slow start, this RPG will get moving a lot more quickly. Also, these people have access to state-of-the-art weapons and are extremly well trained. In many situations, they're more dangerous than their Digimon partners. 2: Be prepared for a lot of action in this RPG. Yes, there will be plenty of time when there's no action, and there's a pretty involved plot, but there will be a lot more action than most Digimon RPGs have. Our characters are feild agents (if you don't want to be a feild agent, PM me). I'll be playing as Jaht Galtok, but the role of Soloa Harklam is up for grabs (PM me if you want to play as her). Now, here's the sign-up form: Name: Age: 18-30, please. If you want to be younger than 18, PM me (these are trained agents, not randomly selected kids. They're normally not taken when they're below 18). Gender: Appearance: Bio: Optional. I find that having a set bio limits character development potential. If you choose to have it, remember to include the DWI recruitment process. Personallity: Optional for the same reason that bio is. However, I recommend that you at least put something to give others an idea of how your character acts. It can be detailed, or just a couple sentences. Oh, be sure to remember that agents are carefully selected, and personality is the biggest part of a person's suitability for the job. Area of Expertise: This is the area or two that your character is best at. It can be weapons, tactics, nogotiations, interrogations, etc. Just don't go too nuts, and limit it to two areas. Digimon: Rookie form. I'd like it if you didn't use made-up Digimon, but I'll allow it. Appearance and attacks are required for made-up Digimon. Digivolution Chain: Rookie to Mega. Again, appearance and attacks are required for made-up Digimon. Well, that's it. PM me with any questions.

OOC: I have no clue what Dobermon's attacks do, so I'll be making up their effects. --------------------------------------------------------- As the group resumed walking, Vaxla was lost in thought. She was contemplating what Jijimon had told them, and the large amount of information they didn'y have on Jigantro. It wasn't long before she reached a conclusion. Everyone who knew her said that Vaxla's mind worked in strange ways. Sakura had experianced this, but was still surprised by many of the things Vaxla said. She kept telling herself to expect virtually anything to come out of Vaxla's mouth, but she couldn't understand how Vaxla came up with some of the things she said. As a result, she was both prepared for and surprised by what Vaxla had to say. "How do we know we're not on the wrong side?" Everyone stopped walking and looked at her. "What are you talking about?" Labramon asked. "Well, we really don't know anything about this Jigantro or whatever it's called's motivations. We don't know what it wants. Currently, the only thing I've heard about it is that it kills an older Digimon for every new one that's born. To be perfectly honest with you, that's something that Earth desperatly needs. It's called population control." "Wait a minute," Kya said. "Are you saying you agree with that thing?" Vaxla chuckled. "Don't worry. I don't have any plans to turn on you or anything. All I'm saying is that I'll need more information before I commit myself to any one course of action. Currently, all this Jigantro thing's done that we've been told about is to engage in self-defense and population control, and even that's nothing more than hearsay. For all we know, Jigantro doesn't even exist. I'm not saying that's the truth; I'm saying that we have no idea what the truth is. Anyways, we won't accomplish anything by just standing around here. Let's keep going, shall we?" As the group resumed walking, Sakura moved beside Vaxla. "No matter how many times it happens," she remarked, "I just can't ever understand how you come up with things like that. I just don't get what goes on in your mind, Vaxla." "Well, I don't know Vaxla as well as you seem to, having just met her," Labramon put in, "but I have to agree with you, Sakura. I don't know where she got that idea. And though I don't exactly agree with her, I have to admit that she's got a point. Our only information really is hearsay. We have no proof of any of it. Personally, I believe that what we were told is true, but that does not invalidate Vaxla's point." "True," Sakura agreed. "You still have a strange mind, though, Vaxla." "But if the point is valid, then what's wrong with an unusual thought process?" Everyone came to a halt again, looking for the sourse of the new voice. "Who's there?" Vaxla called. A blue-and-purple foxlike Digimon emerged from the trees. "I am." Labramon was quick to identify the creature. "That's a Kyuubimon, but the color's all wrong. Of course, that's to be expected in this place." Vaxla faced Kyuubimon. "What do you want?" "You're an interesting one," Kyuubimon replied. "I think you could offer a few insights. I would like you to come with me. You could be useful." Useful for what? Vaxla wondered. What is this thing trying to do? "And you think I'll do this... why?" "You said it yourself. How do you know you're on the right side?" "I don't know that I'm on the wrong one, either," Vaxla responded. "And I know even less about you. Oh, and I also said that I will not commit myself to any single course of action, and going with you would be such a commitment. So I'm afraid that the answer is 'no'." "I'm not prepared to take 'no' for an answer. Dragon Wheel!" Kyuubimon spun in the air and shot a dragon head-shaped blast of fire at Vaxla. Fortunatly for Vaxla, she had quick reflexes. She bent over backwards, Matrix-style, and the attack passed over her, just barely too high. "Nice try," Vaxla said as she straightened herself out. "Labramon, I think it's time to kick some major ass." Vaxla hit her Digivice's red button to trigger Labramon's digivolution. Labramon Digivolved into Dobermon, a Digimon even more doglike than Labramon. He positioned himself between Kyuubimon and Vaxla. "If you want to get to her, you'll have to go through me." "I did not come here looking for a fight," Kyuubimon replied, "but if you want one, then I'll give it to you. Fox Tail Inferno!" Dobermon countered Kyuubimon's attack with one of his own. "Schwarz Strahl!" He fired a spiral-shaped stream of emerald-colored flame, which met Kyuubimon's attack. The two attacks canceled each other out, and Dobermon quickly launched another attack, which Kyuubimon dodged. As the two of them battled, Sakura ran over to Vaxla. "Are you all right?" "Excellent, considering that I just passed within an inch of death. Literally." Vaxla turned to watch the battle. Dobermon and Kyuubimon seemed to be evenly matched, despite the fact that Dobermon was new to his form. Digimon clearly learned how to use new forms quickly, and Vaxla made note of this. Eventually, a lucky shot gave Dobermon the upper hand, and he moved in for the kill. Kyuubimon managed to hit him with a Dragon Wheel, then ran off before Dobermon could deliver the finishing blow. The large doglike Digimon devolved to Labramon. "Well, that seemed completly unnecessary," Vaxla remarked. "Still, I don't think we've seen the last of her. If we come back here, I'll have to keep an eye out for her. She'll try again, that's for sure. I just wish I knew what she thought I could help her with. And whose side is she on?" "We won't get anywhere by standing aaround here," Labramon said. "We can think while we walk. Let's get a move on."

OOC: I thought it was a hut. My bad. As for the swearing, I was planning to stop the vulgar language (even though some swearing is acceptable in a PG-13 RPG). Vaxla's initial responce to the unknown involves vulgar language, but she's past that phase now. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Vaxla immediatly made a few mental notes on the situation. Rule #1: Try not to piss any of these Digimon off, as that could have negative concequences. Rule #2: Appearances are decieving. Looks have nothing to do with power, which leads to Rule #3: treat every Digimon as though it's able to kill you. Her mental notes finished, Vaxla raised her hand. "All right, Vaxla," Jijimon said. "You can be first. Just try now to swear so much." He 'unzipped' Vaxla. "I'll do that," Vaxla assured him. "Now, I'm not going to ask any questions about how this world is possible or anything like that. Frankly, that's irrelavant. I'm more interested in how this world works, what the rules here are. Labramon gave me a quick overview, but I'd like a more detailed explanation of a few things. For starters, what exactly is Labramon's relationship with me?" "He is your partner," Jijimon explained. "The two of you are linked through the Digivice." "And what is this Digivice, exactly?" "The Digivice is a link between you and your partner. When need arises, you will be able to use the Digivice to allow your partner to Digivolve to a more powerful form. you will understand how to use it when the time comes. Also, the Digivice cannot get your partner to the higher levels of power on its own." I'll ask Labramon to elaborate, Vaxla thought. "No more questions for now," she said. "All right," Jijimon replied. "Who's next?"

Vaxla 'woke' to find herself in, well, not really any place in particular. She seemed to be in some kind of void. Of course, she had no idea how such a place could exist. I have to be dreaming, she thought. This whole thing has to be a dream. I'm dreaming, and sooner or later I'll wake up. Vaxla heard the sound of someone approaching. She turned to see what looked for all the world like some kind of dog. As it got closer, she could tell that it wasn't like any dog she'd ever seen. This impression was confirmed when the 'dog' spoke. "Hello, Vaxla," it said. Vaxla jumped in surprise. "Holy shit! How the... what the hell is going on here?" "My name's Labramon," the creature told her. "Okay. Now, please tell me what the hell is giong on here." "All right," Labramon said."I'll try and make this quick, and you can pump me for the details later. Basically, you were taken from your world and brought over to this one, caled the digital world. Those of us who live here are called Digimon. We come in hundreds of varieties, and six stages of growth. A Digimon changes to the next stage at a certain point in his or her life, a process called Digivolution. Natural Digivolution is permanent, but Digivolution can also be induced." Labramon handed Vaxla a small black-and-purple device, which she took. "What's this thing?" "That's a Digivice," Labramon explained. "You can use that to induce me to Digivolve. However, induced Digivolutions are temporary. Eventually, I'll return to this stage, the Rookie stage. It's the third of six. The order is Fresh to In-Training to Rookie to Champion to Ultimate to Mega, and each stage is more powerful than the last, allowing for the inevitable variations within the stages." "Now, in case you haven't figured it out yet, you're asleep right now, and this is a dream. Despite this fact, you will still have the Digivice when you wake up in Jijimon's hut-he's the one you saw before you fell asleep. I'll see you in person then."

It wasn't long before Sakura's dissapearance was noticed. She was in the first heat of the competition, and when she didn't sow up, someone went to her room to get her. But she wasn't in her room. a search of the premisis turned up absolutly noting. However, a competition as big as this one wasn't going to stop because of one unexplained dissapearance. All competetors had a chance to warm up before their heat began. Most people just used this time to stretch, but Vaxla, who was also in the first heat, didn't confine herself to stretching. She used the time to practice some of the more difficult moves she was going to perform. Vaxla was in the middle of an extremly complex series of flips and spins when she was disoriented by a sudden bright flash, ausing her to miss her next move and tumble to the ground. "Son of a bitch!" she swore. "What the hell was that?" Vaxla stood up and took a look around. Everybody else looked as confused as she was. There was another flash, and the next thing Vaxla knew, she was in a hut with a strange-looking creature. "Jesus Christ!" Vaxla exclaimed. "What the fuck is going on here?" "Could you cut down on the vulgar language, please?" the creature said. "Who and what the hell are you?" "Explinations will wait until later," the creature said. Before Vaxla could reply, she fell to the ground, asleep.
