1. If you are using the basic Gameshark v1, then no, you cannot use it on a PS2. You will have to buy the v2, and hope the disc with PSX codes hs the game you want (since you cannot add codes to it). Otherwise, just hang onto you PSX/One like I did and switch between the two. This problem drove me mad when I got the PS2 and Gameshark v2.
Originally posted by 7gR Just so you know there is no such thing as Maha, it is Macha you could find this out if you put on subtiles.
There is one thing you seem to forget. Macha is the name as written in the Epitaph, which was in German. Maha is the the name in Japanese. As it stands either version is acceptable because every screenshot from .Hack//Quarentine has it spelled Maha, which is how Tsukasa pronounces it in the show. I have also heard that Macha is pronounced about the same as Maha. All I know is that it has something to do with the way the "ch" part is spoken.
  3.
True, Helba has always been advisory, but if she's in a party she's bound to do some fighting, right? Good point about the big in-game thing, though. ^_^' You always come up with things I never would have, Phoenix.
I wish I could say it took some thinking to figure that out, but sadly enough it is just a result of playing too many games. I have become used to seeing such red flags. Well, I decided with all of the controversy over the pics to sort of break them down a bit. Here is how I see things. 1) The charcters here are most likely part of a post-storyline mission (except maybe Helba). Reasons: -- Note the background. No infection in Mac Anu. --(Big Spoiler)
From what I saw on the site for the pics, Sora and the other souls/consciounesses help fight Corbenik.
2) Character may be real. If you notice the characters hold their weapons like the rest of the game characters of similar class. This means that even if it is a "cut-and-paste" job, the character most likely appear in the game. Also, the shadows match up, making it either a real picture, or a very well done fake. 3) Incomoplete Ryu Book. Anyone that has beaten Outbreak, and gotten all friendly characters knows that the Ryu Book listing friends is not full yet.
also in the last episode Tsukasa said, "Im not afraid of you nor my father."
The reason he said that was because Morganna had changed his/her memories to get Tsukasa to believe that the real world was not as desireable as the game world.
Like in the one episode when they met Harold in .hack//SIGN he said a whole bunch of things that led to the conclusion that Harold is Tsukasa's father
Harold/The Broken Man, was talking about Aura. He said things like "The proof that I really loved you." That was meaning Emma that he loved. And things like: "I wanted my love to be tangable" and "She is my, she is our..." was meant to apply to Aura.
She was made by Harold like Morganna and Tsukasa does call Maha Mother so it is likely that Harold is Tsukasa's father.
Maha was made by Morganna, not Harold, just like the other Phases. And when Tsukasa says mother he is refering to Morganna, who changed his memories to make Tsukasa believe that his/her mother was dead, and that Morganna was somehow his mother's spirit.

Morganna is not meant to be a copy of Harold's wife, because Harold never had one. Here is the full truth behing Morganna, Aura, Harold and Emma:
Harold was in love with Emma Weiland, the writier of the Epitaph of Twilight, but Emma did not return that love. Regardless, when Emma was killed on her way to meet Harold he vowed not to let it end like that. As a result he created Fragment and programmed in Morganna and Aura after it became The World. Aura was meant to be the proof that Harold turely loved Emma, and Morganna was meant to awaken Aura from her sleep. For a reason that is yet unknown, Morganna trapped Tsukasa in order to cause his negative feeling to created a "Warped Aura," for a reason that is also unknown. Harold also trapped his own consciousness in the game in an attempt to communicate with Morganna.
I doubt that Harold is Tsukasa's father, since no reference has been made to support that theory.
  6.
Originally posted by dragonbz_3 Where do you get these becuse I would like to get some too
You can usually find them in a comic book store, or at a Borders or Barnes & Nobel. It just depends on the area you live in and the type of book stores/comic shops around you.
  7. Well, I read Animerica and Anime Insider. I can give you an idea of how they stack up. Animerica A "jack-of-all-trades" kind of magazine. They pick a different topic (or random small ones) each month and devote about a third of the magazine to it. Another third goes to reviews for whatever anime titles they happened to get their hands on, and similar reviews for videos games. The last third is just random things like convention cosplay pictures, model painting/building advice, genre-specific fan art, and ads. Anime Invasion Hmm, it has been a while since I bought one, but I remember that is seems to be more focused then Animerica. Better info on each topic, and longer articles. Sorry I cannot remember more.
  8. Yep, I have seen it before too. I made a post about awhile back, but nothing came of it. I find Gasaraki to be very genre-confused. It skips between a fantasy storyline and sci-fi fight scenes. Other then that I really enjoyed it. Perhaps the most disturbing thing was how the story for the Belgestan (or however it is spelled) war seemed to mirror some of the recent events with the wars America has been waging. I believe there are the standard 26 episodes, spread across about 5 or 6 tapes. Just be careful to follow the plot twists, or else you are bound to get very lost in many ways.
  9. Natsume bugs me for some reason. If I every use a Twin Blade it will be Moonstone (from .Hack//Mutation). Usually I just use Blackrose and Wiseman in a party (though I used Mistral before getting Wiseman), because Blackrose ends up fighting in many battles based on the storyline, and it is good to keep her at a level similar to mine just in case. Back to the point. I do not really like Natsume, but she does not rank on my list of "Top Three Most Annoying Characters." Here they are: 1) Rachel- That voice and accent piss me off, not to mention her attitude. 2) Nuke Usagamari- Will someone please beat him up? His showing off irritates me. 3) Elk- Grow up and gain some courage, kid. Maybe then you can join my party.
  10.
Originally posted by AzureWolf My only beef with the banner is the middle picture. I'm guessing the things that the other people were complaining about was addressed in your edits, huh? In any case, I think the background and Aura blend in fine (everything goes with white). However, that middle Aura has issues: she's like anorexic or something, and she's got jaggies. If you can do nothing else, at least blur her, as it will be more friendly to the eyes. Besides that, very awesome job. Where's the border? ;)
Border? I don't need no stinking border! Erm, back to business. I think that all the pictures of the game Aura are anorexic. Plus, she has no visible arms or legs, so that screws up the dimensions a bit. As for the jagged lines, I am not sure how well blurring would have worked. I think I tried that and it looked no better. I know that I tried a lot of things to get the picture right, but that was the best I could get. :bawl:
  11. Hmm. I suppose that the real question here is not "Can we grasp the concept of infinity," and more of "Why would we need to?" Humans have a finite life span, so worrying about infinity is pointless. Everything about a human, good or bad, has evolved in certain ways for a reason. Since our only real purpose seems to be creating and providing for the next generation we do not need to worry about where they will go in the distant future. As for thinking of the past, humans only do that because what once was is the only way we can prove our own existance to ourselves. (Wow. Either I just had a major epiphany, or I have become good at typing total BS.)
  12.
Originally posted by AzureWolf Black Phoenix, as I said before, it is my opinion that Aperiron
was the character Lios used before "The World." You know, maybe he used to play the game before becoming a jerk
.
Umm, I think you may have misunderstood me. Allow me to restate my thought. I was not talking about the characters Apeiron and Lios in the game, but the versions in the Epitaph. We all know that Apeiron is the King of Light in the Epitaph, but Helba make a comment when talking to Lios at "flat stage" (I think that was the name). "Lios. The codename given to a system admin. Are you aware that it is the name of the King of Light that appears in the Epitaph?" That is what Helba said, and it confuses me because Apeiron was the King of Light, not Lios. Unless there is a part of the Epitaph yet to be revealed I cannot see how both names can be the right one.
  13. I had heard at another forum that Subaru and Tsukasa may join your player, and that there may be other characters from the series.
Is it just me, or does Subaru's staff look larger than it normally is, though? I mean, it looks very large, and not only that, but Subaru's head looks a little small. Ah, well. I haven't actually seen many screenshots of the former leader of the Crimson Knights from the game, so I could be wrong. Heck, I've never really played the game. Also, Sora's katars (his weapons) look a little long. But who is to say that the characters can't change their weapons..? But then, I am almost certain that the users' weapons don't change appearance in the game, but again, I haven't had the pleasure of holding a PS2 controller that I own.
The change in weapons could be because the development team was using preset limits for the weapons. If you notice the weapons in the game are usually about the same size, with only a few changes. To me Subaru's axe looks the same as all of the other axe designs that Piros and Ryoko have.
But, according to what I've seen and read about the Japanese language, Sora, which means sky, is written with one character, and in the screen it shows two letters. That's sort of one sign of forgery
Do not forget that the version of Sora he uses may not be the same. I do not know much about Kanji, but I do know that a name will have a Kanji based on a word, but not exactly the same look. Also, Sora may have been shortened from something else that uses two Kanji.
Helba's name is correct (I can read katakana well enough.. Well, most of it), but she has maximum stats- 9999 and 999 consecutively. Even if she IS a hacker, I think that would be unfair in the game, having a character of such calibur when the rest of the fighters are far from that.. Unless you want to be a wimpy gamer. (No offense to thou folk who enjoy getting through a game without a challenge)
Helba's purpose in the game was not really to fight. In both the show and the game she plays more of an advising role. Having stats like that may also mean that there is something rather big that you may have to face in the game.

Morganna is not mentioned in the Epitaph because
she was programmed by Harold. Her original purpose was to awaken Aura, but for some reason she changed and is trying to awaken a "Warped Aura."
As for why you do not get to fight Morganna, who knows. The site I posted mentions that it is possible that Corbenik is Morganna, though they do not have an immediate proof to either side of the arguement. Personally, I like the way that Maha looks when converted to her Phase form. That is why I was mad when I did not get a chance to fight her in Outbreak. Plus, I wanted to see Kite's reaction to her.

If only this info were new to me. *Sigh* Oh well. In truth this subject has been brought up diffent times, although no one ever posted so many pictures. I have seen the last three Phases online before, and can tell you that pictures # 6 & 7 are most likely Corbenik (Phase 8) from the eye shaped parts on each side. I will have to search for my post that had the link and paste it here. Also, a question. Where do you keep finding these pictures? I want to see the site for myself. :) EDIT: Here the site, it has the 8 Phases and the Epitaph of Twilight (what appears in the game/show, I guess)--- http://ryowen.net/macht/index2.html
  16. Name: Kai (pronounced "Kay") Allard Nickname:Phoenix Age: 17 Alter Name: Angel Wings Alter Description: A pair of metallic, angel-like wings form on his back and allow him to move very fast. Strain on the body limits movement to short bursts of speed. Home: Lost Grounds Personality: Very quiet, except when around friends. Very loyal to anyone he considers a friend. Tends to get a saddened look on his face when people mention the name Amy, though no one knows why. Bio: Having lost his family at a young age Kai fights in order to survive. Most battles are simple street brawls over food or shelter, but he has also worked as a fighter for hire, working under the name Phoenix, when he needed money. Appearance: 6' tall, brown hair, brown/green eyes, thin with muscles from his years of fighting. Wears a pair of black jeans, black boots, and a dark red, short-sleeve shirt with a black widow design on the front. 17.
That little scene their confused me and disturbed me and the cellphone what is with that? Black Pheonix you know everything about .hack please tell me what happened their and whats with the cellphone.
The cellphone is a flashback to the first .Hack//SIGN episode. That same scene appeared (without the voice) just before Tsukasa woke up and found out that he was stuck in the game. I figure that it somehow relates to Morganna.
  18. The DVD's and games are not exactlly in sync. The DVD's show things before they happen in the game. I can offer two points to prove this.
1) Tomonari/Sieg falls into a coma at the begining of Liminality, but appears in the first half of Infection. This obviously took place before Mai entered the game.

2) When you defeat Fidchill in Outbreak thinks start to happen in the real world. This is the same as in Liminality part 2.
As for how I know that it was Sieg in the game, I used the secret parts of Liminality disc 2, which mentioned he was the player next to the chaos gate talking about Mia.
  19. There is one thing that bugs me a bit about this. As AzureWolf mentioned, in Mutation we are told by Helba that
Lios is the name of the "King of Light."
What I cannot understand is how both
Lios and Apeiron can be the name of the King of Light mentioned in the Epitaph.
20.
Why use bevel and shadow on such a large font? The fonts and colors stick out like a sore thumb...
Just as a test really. There are still things in Photoshop that I have never tried, so I just play around with things. I was hoping the Bevel/Emboss would look better, but *shrugs*.
Hmm. I like the idea, but the anime and game images don't blend very well. If you can, I would suggest finding a game character sketch, or a less fuzzy image (such as the one in your avatar).
I originally planned on using a character sketch, but since most sketches are just a basic design they do not look quite as good. As for the pic in my avi, I wanted to avoid using that since the original picture (front of .Hack//Infection) had characters blocking the infinity (sideways 8) on Aura's collar. I will do more searching for pics and will hopefully find better sketches for the next banner.
Aura is a fairly colorless character (that's a weird way of putting it...), so you might want to consider toning down the background a little, just to see how it looks. Right now, it overwhelms the pictures of her a little bit.
A weird way to put it, but still and apt description. In truth I am almost worried that the center Aura overwhelms the background due to the brightness of the pic, and the lens flare. I suppose I see things differently then most people though, because I think the background is perfect (then again, I am a bit strange). I will have to consider that for the next one.
  21. I think that the use of the name Apeiron was more for show then anything. Much like Ichiro Sato/Bith the Black from Liminality disc 3. He used the name to show a connection to Helba, but he is still only the "grunt labor." Having others do such work allows Helba to stay focused on the server problems. It is much the same as the random character that shows up at the Fort Ouph chaos gate to give Kite and item in Helba's name.
  22.
Originally posted by Ani_Freak Well, I mst say that I too think that there is a PC on the games that goes by the name of Sieg.
There was a character named Sieg that appered in .Hack//Infection. He was standing next to the Chaos Gate in Mach Anu and talking about the "Cat player character" (Mia) that he saw in the alley. As for one in Mutation, I never remember any character named Sieg showing up, but I never pay too close of attention to the names either.

That is amazing. I really like the change in colors from the redish background to the blue of the girl. Since the to are close to opposites it gives her this look like she has an aura of power that lets her stand out a bit. And since both are dark colors it keeps the change from being sudden. Then again, maybe sleep deprivation is making me think wierd. :p
  24.
Sorry everyone, but my comp. shows it differently. I think its great. Except for Aura, who is alittle blurry.
That may be because you were viewing the edited version. I have changed the design again, but have still not worked out the problem with the letter at the top being too dark to read. The center Aura is blurry now because of my attempt to take away the grainy look. To be honest the blurry looks better then it would look if I tried to sharpen it (which just returns a grainy look).
Anyways, if your using paint, or word, theres your problem.
Actually, I am using Photoshop. I guess I will just have to learn to keep my banners light so that it compensates for the change on the forums.
i would advise that you change the color of your text. . . i like the quote tho. its very very good.
Yeah, the text color is giving me a headache. Everytime I change it it does not look good enough to see (unless it is just me). I am trying to think of a lighter color that would work, but blue and red are the only ones that seem to fit with the background and characters.
is that only your second banner?? wow. check out my thread. . . i've been makin banners for like 1 1/2 months now and mine still suck.
Just remember to give it time. Once you get the hang of things and find your rhythm it will all fall into place. :)
  25.
Originally posted by satan665 Cool, I tried twice and have both times gotten a noble grunty. Impressive enough that it has one of the silliest voices in the game so far. This game really has some strange voices. Anyway, is it worth doing? Do you get anything cool if you give Elk aromatic grass?
To be honest, not really. Elk and Mia seem to be the only ones that do not do anything other then thank you for things. The Ryu Book V shows that there rating goes up, meaning they like you more, but they do not seem to send you any e-mails like the other players. All I can figure is maybe that will change in .Hack//Quarentine (4th game). As for the Iron Grunty, try searching www.gamefaqs.com -- www.cheatcodes.com -- www.gamewinners.com to find the list of foods to feed the Grunty in order to get each type.
