The biggest problem with that idea is the jobs that each held. Tokuoka worked for CC Corp. at one time, and probably as a programmer, because I believe he said something about the bug in The World (first Liminality DVD). Bear, on the other hand, was a retired writer (novels, IIRC) and not a programmer.
Originally posted by DemonzDragoon i think so.i saw it on a website.I didnt test them.
It was probably Codebreaker or something else. There is no listing of getting .Hack//SIGN characters for the game on the Gameshark website. -
Not according to www.tokyopop.com. The release date on that sight is set for December 9th.
Originally posted by quietstranger16 maybe i'm just making a completely incorect guess here, but could mireille be mistral(from the games). i just got outbreak, and mistral says in the beginning that
shes a housewife with a baby on the way
, but that couldn't keep her from changing her screen name after the dot hack incidents and continuing to play, right?
I do not think that the characters are exactly the same as the .Hack games (though the bit with Orca is still in the air). From the short comic strip that was placed just after the manga ended I got the feeling that Mireille is only meant to look like Minstral. Also, Hotaru (the one that has the grunty) is meant to look like Elk. I think the creators just wanted to bring back the character designs from the games and use them in a comedy. (Just a theory)
Originally posted by vegeta rocker Not very long? It's 26 episodes like most animes. Unless you are thinking of the original which i have no idea about it length.
The original BGC was eight episodes long, and each was about 45 minutes (sans advertisements).

Anime .hack: Mutation, Getting New Party Members

No, you cannot. The closest you can get are six short scenes showing various characters. The first four can be found by goinig into the church at Delta-Hidden, Forbidden, Holy Ground. Note: The scenes are opened one at a time and you must play through enough of the game to unlock each. The last two are part of a side quest that you can find on the message board. It is in the Dun Loreag server and contains the word Wavemaster at the end. In the dungeon you meet A-20 in the first room and Mimiru in the Gott Statue room (where she met Tsukasa in the TV show), and she gives you a rare sword. -
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Yep! Interesting everywhere.. And not entirely in a perverted way. It really seems to emulate what a MMORPG is supposed to be like quite well. The characters are all vivid and individual as well, in their own ways.
I definately like the way it simulates an MMORPG. It is nice that they included the litte black hexes that give you info on the characters and any damage they take. And the different art style gives enough variation to the Kite and Blackrose designs that keeps you from confusing them with the orginals.
Hm.. If The World is like any current MMORPG we know today, two characters can't have the same SN, even if they ARE different characters.. Right? But we shall see.. 'Cause if I recall, Balmung mentioned he is familiar with this Orca in the manga..
I am not sure about people having the same name. I know that the member address makes a difference, but I am not sure if they can have a game login that is the same (since it has never been mentioned). The only thing that could result in the same name is if the original Orca (Yasuhiko) were to have deleted his account after the first ".Hackers incident". Hopefully the last game will clear things up.
HEEEEY! The .hack//PINUP isn't the ENTIRE reason it's great-- I mean-- Ugh. What I meant when I said that the color pages were good was because of the colors and materials they used.. It looked almost like screenshots of the cartoon version.
Uh huh. Just keep telling yourself that. :D Actually, I do enjoy the look of the other color pages, especially the index page. I did not even notice the .Hack//PINUP page at first because the pages were stuck together (probably by a static charge).

There is no problem if the drinking is limited to only a small amount, but getting completely plastered is not a good thing. I am only 19, and do mind taking a drink once is a while, but not very often and not very much. In truth, my opinion boils down to "I don't care what they do so long as I am not involved." People have their own minds and can make their own decisions.

I just got a copy today. It is a very...interesting manga, to say the least. The chibi art style is actually very nice, though it does see strange at times (then again, so does the entire manga). I am still unsure about Orca being the same person. It almost seems to me that the name was given to the player after she became a Werewolf (which the manga said was difficult). As for the color pages, I know why OtakuSennen likes them so much. ;)
Originally posted by Aya_Fujimiya_42 What I Think Is you Have to watch .hack//sign, then play the games... them watch .hack//dusk to understand the consept of the Anime it self...And Aura.. Isn't i a Womb.....
Yes she is. In the opening credits they show scene with multiple pictures of Aura that flash by very quickly. In one of those pictures you can see the umbilical cord. Thus, she is in a womb in the opening credits.

Umm, no singing in the shower. I am a terrible singer, so I only sing when there is music to sing along with and no one around to hear me. :p Anyway, it is hard to sing while trying to think of one thing while your mind wanders aimlessly looking for something it cannot find. Besides, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy sounds a lot better when you have the music to go with it. :D
Originally posted by OtakuSennen Early 2004, eh, Black_Phoenix? I heard it was originally scheduled for a before Christmas release, but they've had holdbacks throughout the production of the games, or so I've heard...
That is what it says on the .Hack website. From the sounds of it Bandai had some trouble with getting Outbreak out to the stores, so I am not surprised that the original date has been changed.
So.. Does anyone know if it'll have any new servers? If I recall, .hack//MUTATION was the first one to have Carmena Gadelika in it..
I know that there are two more servers listed in the game's e-mails. Since each game leaves you leveled up at the end I would guess that the next two servers will appear seperately in the next two games, just so there is a challenge.

This really should go on the Sony Thread. Anyway. .Hack//Quarintine is the fourth and final title in the series of .Hack games for the PS2. It does not have an exact release date, but according to www.dothack.com it is set to come out sometime in early 2004
To make words stand out more, you should add an outline (if that's possible in Photoshop 5.5)
I will have to see if that is possible. I did not see anything for it, but I was not exactly looking for a way at the time, so I may have missed it. If all else fails there is a CD somewhere around here with Photoshop 7 (I just have to find and install it).
And also, I think that it would have been a little more professional-looking if you did more of a gradual fade from the Auras to the dark background. It sort of makes them stand out a little too much. ^_^ Though that is a good thing if you intended that.
I have not figured that part out yet. :p To avoid the look of a picture just being pasted over the background I used the Blur tool to blur the edges a little. It does create a slight fade effect, but not the best.

Thanks for the compliments. I was almost worried at first that the Arua pictures would have been too bright in comparison to the background. I only wish the words at the top appeared brighter in the attachment. I cannot figure out why they seemed to have changed. They stood out very well in Photoshop.

*Phoenix leaned against the wall in the building's party hall as people walked around talking. Most of the conversations were the exact same thing most people expected to hear at a martial art tourney. People boasting their own victories, claiming they could beat anyone, and even a few who were openly worried about the size of the other fighters. Phoenix was starting to become bored with all of the fancy treatment. As far as he was concerned it was more interesting to sit in the middle of forest eating MRE's (rations) then trying to stuff a chunk of steak down your throat in the middle of a brightly lit room.*

You did all that in a Paint program?!? Wow, you must have taken your time on those. I have never been able to get Paint to cooperate long enough for something like that. I like the shadow effect from the first banner, but with the hair flowing back like that it seems a bit strange. And the color of the background was great.

Darn you for drawing so good. I wish I could draw like that. :bawl: (Who am I kidding? I wish I could do any drawing in more then two dimensions) That first picture looked like it had to be rather difficult. Odd angles like that are hard, but tend to look cool when finished. Keep up the good work, I plan on seeing more. :)

First off I must say thanks to AzureWolf for giving me a few tips for making banners. As stated in the subject this is my first banner, and despite my lack of skill with Photoshop 5.5 I think that it came out fairly well. As you should be able to tell it is a .Hack banner with two pictures of Aura and two of the church. The center picture of Arua was placed over the joint between the two other pictures, where I made a mistake I could not figure out how to reverse (until it was too late to fix it). I wish I could say I worked long and hard on this banner, but in reality it was an hour-long game of "What does this button do?" :p Since it is my first try, and I like it, that means that drinks are on me.

The first time I saw it I thought that was a scene of
Silver Knight after the Guardian data drained him
, since it occurs shortly after that event. Also the girl on the floor did not seem to have any gender-specific traits from the angle they showed. It wasn't until the arguements here about Tsukasa's gender that made me change my thought.

Hmm, I have thought long and hard about that idea too. Okay, not really. The answer kinda hit me while I was reading. I believe that the touching of hands would have indicated a closure in the story. Because Morganna still exists there can be no real closure. That is also why the Cellphone and the voice from the tablet in the first episode appeared just after the pause in the real world scene. Both show that Morganna has not finished her job yet.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo IIt jsut builds my hopes that someday, soem one could actually build one. I have a cousin'who is like 26 who made actual hidrolics and blue prints for a Gundam cuz they all work in, like, a car/mechanics shop. It could actually work. Its freakin amazing.
Yeah, I know that feeling. I play a game called Battletech which has 9-13 meter tall Battlemechs (simply called Mechs) in it, and ever since I got hooked on the games/books I have wanted to see a real one hit the battlefields. The only problem is, a bipedal/quadrapedal weapons platform would be too hard to build and control, and technology would have to be more advanced then it is now for them to rival a tank or other military vehicles. Oh well, maybe someday.

Yay! I get to be a bad guy. Name: Phoenix (never said it had to be original) Age: appears to be in his mid-20's Height/Weight: 6'-even, 180 lbs Description: Dark brown hair, brown/green eyes, long legs, and thin. Wears a black jumpsuit, boots, and gloves with a white, hooded cloak. Race: American Bio: Little is know about his past, but his name is well know by every mercenary, and the people that hire them. Chose the name Phoenix after barely surviving battles that would have killed others. Martial Art(s): Umm, I dunno. Lets just say he has military training. Weapon: Garrote (thin wire used for choking) Attitude: Very calm during a fight, even in a bad situation. Makes a habit of mocking his opponents to make them angry (and less focused).
Originally posted by Hacker Kite Do any of you know where it is that you can buy these dvds for cheap because i can't find them anywhere but on the web and im not allowed to do that right now.
Try at a Suncoast Video store. They have a great selection of anime in stock. I believe that the first 4 discs are out, but I have no clue when the last two are being released.
