1.
Originally posted by Heavyblade What are the phases and what's that creepy giant thing on the first pic?
The first picture is Skeith. He is the final boss in .Hack//Infection. However, the picture on that page is from his appearence in .Hack//SIGN As for what the Phases are, they are basically Morganna's guard dogs, and the ones that do her dirty work.
Corbenik, wasn't much. A bunch of eyes didn't impress me. I can't wait to see the other forms.
That is why I like Corbenik. Unlike some of the others it does not appear to have random junk tacked onto it. It is plain, simple, and fairly creepy. That image freaked me out at first because I have always hated seeing eyes staring at me from a dark place. *Shudders*
  2. It is also possible that Atamisk could have been energy-based (or half energy-based), instead of having an actual physical form. That would explain why he could
fuse with Naota and Kanti, and also why Haruko wanted his power (it would also explain the strange glowing lines on his body). The guy with the eyebrows also said that Atamisk had enought N.O. (or M.O.) to absorb entire galaxies.
3. Well, while seaching the web I found a site that has pics of the Eight Phases from .Hack//SIGN and the .Hack games. The Eight Phases website (Note: bad layout, text may need to be highlighted if you use Netscape) The interesting thing is getting to see what Maha will look like in the games (link below Maha's picture). With the exception of Maha's new form and the form of Phase Eight - Corbenik [The Rebirth], I think the quality of the Phases kind of drops off after Magus, and they become too unusual.
  4. That episode kicked serious ***. The best part was that gigantic verions of Atamisk (I have no clue how to spell it), with the wings that stretched from one end of the city to the other. The failed manga scene was amusing too, especially since the characters knew about it too. :D The ending did not make me said, but it gave me the lump in the throat that every person with Irish blood gets.
  5. *Taste own blood.* Mmm, coppery. :p I an not bothered by the sight of blood. Generally it just pisses me off, because nine times out of ten it is my own blood as a result of my accident-prone nature. Like my grandfather always says: "The job ain't done right 'til you've bled on it." ;)
  6. *Reads IkkiMechaPilot's post and shudders* Oh yeah, I think I remember that level. I got completely plastered the first time i tried it. If it is the one one I am thinking of I remember my strategy that got me through. IIRC, the enemies were mostly in the large, square rooms and generally consisted of Rock Heads the giant masks. My strategy was to get as far from the enemies by running away, then turning around, letting them get close enough to attack, then letting them have it with one of those "Tornado" type attacks (since they hit anything near the target), and finally just repeat that until you win. I would suggest having a "Rai" (Thunder) attack to take care of the mask-shaped monsters, since they tend to be a bigger pain (IMO) then the Rock Heads. Generally, direct attacks will get you killed quickly on that level (as I learned the first time).
  7. The Lupin III scenes were funny as ****. I really liked the one taken from the Lupin opening where the father jumps out of his clothing and gets smashed into the wall by the boxing glove. It is now completely obvious that the writers liked South Park. So far we have had sightings of a Kenny doll, the scene in the hair style building, and Takun's hood making him look like Kenny. I hate to ask what they will make a joke of in the final show. Did anyone catch what the name of the guitar was that Kanti had? All I could hear was the second part where they said '63 version.
  8. *Backs slowly away from Elk and grabs a phone.* Elk, I think you need a little rest. I am just going to call my friends in the white coats. They will let you have you own room, complete with padded walls. :p I suppose you could draw a connection there. I have experienced dreams that are a prelude to an actual event (though mine are more realistic, and less symbolic).
  9. Actually, the sanctuary is more important in the game. In .Hack//SIGN its only real use is when they open the Twilight Eye and the Red Chaos Gate. But in the games it has many different uses. It is where Kite first encounters a
Data Bug
, then there is his use of the
Book of Twilight
, the statue with the names of the
first three Phases
, and finally (in Mutation) the
memory fragments from .Hack//SIGN
. Add to that the fact that the .Hack//Liminality vol. 2 DVD states that the entire area was meant to be a root town, and thus is why it stands alone. I am willing to bet that in .Hack//Outbreak its importance is going to grow even more. *Takes deep breath* Okay, rant over. :p
  10. Excel Saga kicks-***. It makes FLCL look tame. Frankly I find Excel to be annoying, but then again, that is the point. Her partner, the "Anemic Martian Princess" (since I forget her real name), is amusing simply because she cannot stand up and move at the same time. :D And let us not forget Pablo (is that his name?), the one poor sucker in the show that cannot catch a break. By far the best is Lord Illpalazo (sp?). :p
  11. Ahh, okay. I think you mean the Red Wyrm, a dragon/bat mix (or close to it). First off, leveling up is defiantely good. The best bet would probably be to bring your level up to the same as the field's level. IIRC, the Red Wyrm is a fire-type monster, which means any attacks starting with 'Rue' (water) are the best. Just have Blackrose attack up close while you attack with water magic, and keep healing you teammates. Once you can data drain it, do so, then try using The Moon or The Hanged Man to stop it from attacking (hopefully it works). Then just continue to hack away at its life points till you win.
  12. Well, I am not sure about him being a Lvl. 99, but he must be a high level fighter. If you can recall the first episode you will remember that he was alone at the end of the dungeon, which Mimiru hints at being very difficult for a Wavemaster. The one factor that makes determining his level hard is the fact that they never really say how long there is between the begining and ending episodes. If there was a lot of time he may have leveled up many times.
  13.
Originally posted by dbzanimegrl17 You must be really good. Or at least a LOT better than me. I can't even get past the level to get Mia!!
Do you happen to know which monsters/boss you have to face in the Mia mission? I have not played that stage for a while, but I may be able to give you some advice that can get you past it.
  14.
Originally posted by Stuart I wish I had seen this thread earlyer... It was 5 mins to 12:00 so I ran out to the couch turn on the TV and Ed ed and Eddy was on.. I though NOOO!!!!!! THEY DID AWAY WITH .HACK//SIGN!!!!!! But then I went online and say this. Oppies ^_^
Yeah, well that is not too bad. I stayed up just to turn off my VCR so it would not record, but in the back of my mind I held onto hope that CN would play it anyway. :p If only they did. I want to see Helba. :bawl:
  15. Okay Elk, you are right. I watched the opening again on my Liminality DVD and saw waht you are talking about. I never really noticed that before since it flashes by so quickly. Also, I was thinking you meant the scene with the Aura that grew older in a few seconds.
  16.
Originally posted by Elk No she's in a womb trust me I played it on my in slow motion and even paused it. You can see the cord when it shows her feet and there's this part where it shows the cord between her legs (it doesn't show anything).
Are you sure it is not just her hair? After all, Aura's hair is very long and tends to hang in thick strands.
  17.
Originally posted by AzureWolf However, I've never heard a statistic of the brain that was 10%, so we at least agree on that. :)
The closest thing that I have heard of for a percentage is 30%. There is only one problem that follows that number. Is that percentage a total amount, or just the average used during a restful state (i.e. little movement, no extensive thinking)? Anyone that has seen a picture from a CAT scan (or was it an MRI?) knows that a sizable portion of the brain is in use even at rest, which clearly conflicts with the idea of only 10%. Just so no one gets confused, rest is not the same a sleep.
  18. AzureWolf, you are talking about the "Rod of Pattern" which is found by Data Draining a "Wander Demon." Since it is a Rare item it is difficult to obtain through the DD attack. Frankly, I tend to avoid Rare weapons since high level standards are nearly as good, and do not drop certain parameters down to low levels. Go to www.gamefaqs.com and you can find a list of the rare weapons found in the .Hack games, their locations, and what they do. There are even some that can only be found by searching cheat sites (since they are not found here in America yet)
  19.
Originally posted by Double_B_Daigo She wasn't driving in mid-air, she was driving across a bridge that the two of them were standing in front of. And the robots name is Kanti or Kantig. One or the other.
It was too high up for a brigde. Mamimi and Kanti were stading about 2/3 of the way up a set of power lines (right about where the "arms" are at). Also everytime they showed it there was nothing around the tower.
  20. I have heard that episode 27 and possibly 28 will be released with the last .Hack game. It was posted somewhere on this board I think.
  21. After rewatching the episode I have figred out that the nosebleeds were in responce to the guitar pulled out of Takun's head. As for what that had to do with an erotic scene, I have no clue (unless there was something about the guitar's size). As for the actaul name of Takun, who cares? Everyone knows him as either Takun or Naota. People just call him Takun because that is what he is commonly called. Also, did anyone else notice that Haruko went driving/flying through midair in the scene with Mamimi sitting on the robot's shoulders and yelling?

Well, mine is in my sig, but to make it easy just take my username and replace the underscore between the names with a space. This means my name is Black Phoenix (look, no underscore) :D
  23. Sora behaves like a child because
he is only in 4th grade (I think it was 4th). This will be proven in a scene that shows him in real life during episode 25 (IIRC).
24. Yeah, I saw the Kenny doll. I noticed the first time, then paused it while watching again today. Yesterday's episode was the funniest so far. The Vespa runs the teacher over in the hallway, the robot winds up being kicked by the girl hanging from the ceiling, and the best part was this quote: "Ukulele no good." I nearly died laughing when I heard that, just because of the situation and how it was said. Remember to eat your curry. :p
  25. I have seen all 13 (or was it 11) episodes. I really enjoyed it because it did not rely on cheesy fight scenes or predictible plots. It tends to be confusing since the scenes jump around a lot, but as the story progresses the unanswered events in those scenes wind up being shown. The show is one big web, with everything leading back to an earlier episode. A very well done anime IMO.
