Ominous Fortunetelling Reason: What could be better then a continuous trap card that lets you cause life point damage just for guessing a card type (monster, magic/spell, trap) in your opponent's hand durning your turn? Direct damage is fun.

Phelan hopped down from the Gunsniper's cockpit and and stretched his arms and legs. As he started to arch his back he was stopped by the popping of his spine. "Not really built for comfort, are they," Cay asked. "Apparently not. Especially for people with long legs," was Phelan's responce. Phelan reached over to a small panel built into the zoid's head and pulled out a pair of small ration packets. He tossed one to Cay and removed the cap from his. In truth the "packets" were really just tubes of food paste, but out here they still counted as a meal. Cay looked at her's and smirked. "Pot roast? They really expect me to believe that?" "Probably not. They were just giving you an idea in case you were really hungry enough to want to taste it." That comment got a chuckle from Cay as she too tried eating from the ration, without letting the real taste bother her.

Character Sign-Up Name: Phelan Kell Sex: Male Age: 19 Role: GF member Appearance: 6' tall, brown hair and eyes, long legs, and thin. Wears a black shirt, black jeans and black boots. Also wears a white cloak. He is often seen in a white T-shirt and overalls after having finished the repairs on his zoid. Rumor has it he has a large scar running right to left on his back, which he left untreated to remind him of why he was with the Guardian Force. Personality: Very quiet most of the time. When around his GF team he tends to be very upbeat, but appears to be more somber and calm when alone. Bio: Phelan was born into a family of medics in a very small, desert village, which was associated with the Gylos Empire. He was picked up by the GUardian Force at the age of 15, after his parents and friends were killed during a fight between the GF and a group of bandits. As a result he rarely speaks of his life before joining the Guardian Force. Since that day he has trained to become one of the top zoid pilots and is often sent on missions that require a "specialized" approach. It was just such a mission that resulted in his encounter with his organoid. He was only supposed to clear out a set of old ruins that had been taken over by the same group that had killed his village. Having the floor collapse beneath his zoid's feet had not only saved his life, but revealed the room with the organoid's sleep chamber. Phelan is still not sure why Black Widow chose to become his organoid, partner, and even friend. Shortly thereafter he changed the color scheme on his zoid to match Widow's color. ---------- Zoid Sign-Up Zoid: Gunsniper (info: http://www.angelfire.com/anime4/darkzoids/guns.html) Painted black with red hour glass on abdomen. Type: Raptor Nick name: Amy (never told anyone why) Weapons: Wrist gatling guns, missile pods, sniper rifle, and a pair of gatling guns Support Systems: Long range radar, mimetic (color-changing) skin (only with organoid) Upgrade(s): Tail rifle is a rail gun instead of gunpower based, gatling guns mounted between missile pods (pods swing down to sides to reveal them) -------------- Organoid Sign-up Name: Black Widow Color: Metallic black with a red hourglass on the abdomen Short desciption: Resembles the Gunsniper's raptor-like design. Gunsniper has the same color scheme as Black Widow. Anything else: Can activate the mimetic skin of the Gunsniper

*Korekuta bid farewell to the Long Arm he was speaking with. The Long Arm was one of his informants, and though she lacked any info most of the time, when she did manage to find something it was always worth checking out. Too bad this was not one of those times. Fortunately, this was solved by a message from another informant, and one that usually reported directly from Helba. Though short, the message still said a enough.* To: Korekuta From: --- Re: Your next assignment Korekuta, proceed to the following field's dungeon. You will understand why soon enough. *From the wording it was obvious that it had been sent directly from Helba like the last one, and not actually forwarded from the informant he had thought. Phelan wondered why they were being sent directly to him recently. Instead of worrying about it he merely followed instructions. The trip through the dungeon was longer then normal, but at the end he had found out why he was there. In the lowest level was a mod fighting with a player. For a reason he was not meant to understand, this is why he was sent here.*

Theta Server dungeon: "Closed" Field *It was obvious now why Korekuta had been sent to this particular dungeon. Between the "closing" of the field and total lack of monsters to defend the treasure, which did not seem to exist either, anyone would be able to tell that this field had been corrupted. The point was further driven home by the very fact that Helba hereself had sent Korekuta to this area. To many this would appear on their screens in the standard, drab color scheme, but a special program allowed Phelan to see much more. Lines of codes appeared like shadows, or ghosts over the image of each wall. The top floor of the dungeon was displayed in the usual calm green, indicating that the codes were all in their correct form. However, as he went to lower levels areas of red code began to appear increasingly. This was not a good sign, and may well have proved that Helba was correct in believing the area was soon to be a sourse of trouble. I best head back to town and send a report. The image blinked for a moment and Korekuta was back in the highlands of Dun Loireag. With a few keystrokes Phelan condensed the info he had collected and sent it off to Helba. Having completed his task, Korekuta moved into the town and worked on collecting any extra info he could get from the players themselves.*

The games take place about 6 months after the TV show ended. The games merely continue with the storyline that relates to Morganna and Aura, instead of Tsukasa. The TV shows and games are part of a seireis called "Project .Hack." That series spans three genres. The TV show was mystery, the games are action, and the manga is comedy. Each continues with the story, but in a unique way.

"The World? Name: Korekuta Gender:Male Affiliation: Player Class: Blademaster Special Ability: Warping without a gate. Weapon: Katana with a black handle Description: Wears a black jumpsuit (with a white cape), boots and gloves. Katana sheath on left hip. Face is hidden by a motorcycle-style helmet. Obviously an edited character. Level:40 Role: Watcher/Collecter Real World Name: Phelan Age: 19 Gender:Male Description: Tall, long legged. Brown hair and eyes. Bio: A subordinate of Helba's (hacker in the show/games) who works to collect information. Although he is not told why the info is collected he trusts Helba's reasons. He is a talented hacker, but not as good as he wants to be.

Once more I have tried my hand at creating a banner. This time, instead of anything .Hack//SIGN related, I chose to focus on one of my favorite quotes from FLCL. I also used this one to test out a few new tricks, like lower opacity for the Mamimi picture to the left, and a border design. In addition, as a limited-time offer I created a second banner that lacks my name on it. If anyone wants it just PM me and I will add your name to the second one and place it in this post for you to use. (First come, first serve) Anyway, back to the matter are hand. Let me know what your thoughts are on this banner. And tell me if it looks any better then the one in my sig.

That is one of the most amusing banners I have seen in a while. I like the fact that it is simple, and yet completely unique. Also, I love the comment on it. I have never heard it put that way before.

*Quel lifted his head from the stream and shook the water off of his face. For two days he had been walking through Noktor Forest, looking for the nearest town, which hopefully had some real food. Living off of whatever he happened to find had left Quel rather annoyed. I knew I should have bought something, anything, back at the last town. Quel sighed and began filling a small leather canteen with water. As he was standing up Quel heard the sound of a woman's voice nearby. Grabbing his cloak and sword, Quel moved off toward the sound. His quest ended at the edge of the treeline where he came upon a lake, and two young women standing next to it. Next to the women were a large griffin and a white horse. Quel managed to duck back into the trees just before a large rock came flying his way.* Kia: "Caotan, get him!" *That is what Quel heard a second before the tree he was against splintered and the griffin pinned him to the ground. The young lady that had sicced the griffin on Quel now walked up to the beast's side and placed her glaive against Quel's throat.* Kia: "Who are you, and why were you spying on us?" Quel: "I was walking through the woods, not spying. How was I supposed to know you were there? As for who I am, my name is Quel. You mind getting this thing off of me?" Kia: "Caotan, off." *Quel stood up and grabbed his cloak and sword again. How do I manage to get myself in this kind of trouble all the time, Quel thought as he tried to convince the two he was sorry.*

I hope all of the info for my character from the last time is still valid. Too much work to try and do a major overhaul on it now. :p Name: Quel (pronounced like "Kell") Age: 19 Good/Evil: Good Stones: 4 Fire stones Weapon: Katana (I like that sword ) Appearance: 6-foot tall, brown hair, brown-green eyes, long legged. Wears a black shirt, black denim pants, and a crimson cloak. Personality-Talents: Very quiet most of the time. Gets along with most people. Tends to seem cheerful around his friends. Talent: Very accurate with attacks that project from his hands (i.e. fireballs). Bio: Grew up on a small farm, distant from any large gathering of people. Traveled to a small, nearby city for an education, and to work odd jobs on occasion. At a young age he became enraged over a trivial matter and accidentally unleashed the power of his Fire stones. The result was the destruction of his house, and the death of his parents. He wound up with a relative for a few years before running off. Since then he has been wandering about, trying to find a use for himself, and atone for the death of his parents at his hands.

First things first, Cubia was mentioned in the Epitaph. I believe that Helba stated that durning Outbreak at some point (or, I saw it online). All that was said was Cubia's role in the Epitaph was a mystery. That also leads me to believe that the Epitaph is unfinished. Here is the truth behind Cubia's role in the game (as I read on another site). Be warned, major storyline spoilers ahead:
Cubia is in fact a result of the bracelet's power. Remember how Cubia appeared after the defeat of Skeith? That is because the Eight Phases give Cubia more power each time one of them is drained by the bracelet.
Past that info I still do not know what his purpose is, despite constant thought on the subject before. I do believe that his purpose may be about the same as your first guess, except the opposite.
Instead of protecting Aura, he is trying to stop her from being fully assmebled in order to keep her from stopping Morganna in some way.
-
What?!? No Helba? How could you leave Helba out of the list? (Just messing with you) I prefere Helba over the other characters (and it has nothing to do with her outfit) mostly because out of all the players she holds all the cards. There is also the fact that her motives are unclear. She could be helping Morganna, or fighting her. I think that Aura is another insteresting character simply because of the mystery that surrounds her durning the entire series (and into the games).

Anime Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars
Zephyr replied to moon-scar demon's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by Stick Fairy Yeah, the whole Abh thing was amazing. The animation was really good too. Has anyone seen Banner of the Stars? It's supposedly a sequel series of sorts (wow, a tongue twister), and I really want to see it. I felt the whole thing ended too soon.
Yep, seen Banner of The Stars, too. For some reason I did not like that one as much as COTS, though. I have not seen the entire BOTS yet, but am in no big hurry from what I saw of the first episodes. -
I have seen all episodes of it, and really enjoyed it. The strangest thing about it is the fact that it is very genre confused. The basic plot is fantasy mixed with mystery, but it is also big on the mecha fight scenes. The plot is much like the one in Boggiepop Phantom in the respect that you have to watch the whole thing in order to make any real sense of what they are trying to get at. Simply put, I would be sure to watch a few episodes to see if you like the basic tone of it before diving headfirst into the series.

Anime Crest of the Stars/Banner of the Stars
Zephyr replied to moon-scar demon's topic in Otaku Central
Definately a great series. I think that it went just a little heavy on the whole "one-sided love." The fact that the creators actually created an entire alphabet for the Ab proves just how dedicated they were to the whole series. Also, the artwork is amazing, even the CG parts fit in really well. -
That is a great banner. Much better then my only two tries. The font in the middle and to the right fits nicely with the general design, and the colors work well together. And now, the downsides. The font for your name in the lower-left corner is too compressed, and too dark. The blur tool was used a bit too much. I like the idea behind its use, but you may want to try using the filters to see if any of them work the same with better results. Just out of curiousity, what is with the picture in the middle. Maybe I am missing something, but it seems just a bit strange to me. Just a suggestion, try taking a picture and just playing around with the filters and other options to learn to work Photoshop (that is what I did).
-
Two suggestions: 1) The picture to the left needs to be cleaned up. The edges seem unnatural. 2) If this is a wallpaper I would suggest not using a quote or other words. Wallpapers generally are meant to focus around the pictures, and not on a specific quote. Sorry if this goes against what you were looking for, but that is how I see things.
-
The second font does look better. To paraphrase Haze_Gundam006, it seems to "flow" well with the design. I find the theme of the banner to be funny, too. I do not think I have ever seen a banner that expresses boredom like that before. Font it a pain to get used to. I still have yet to work that out in my banners. As you can see with the one in my sig, font is not my specialty (even if it was only the second one).
-
LOL! That is a great banner. The background fits well with the cartoonish picture, but the font does not seem quite right to me. I probably just do not like that style. :p Hopefully no one will take it seriously, since it is too funny for that.

Anime Does anyone wish .hack//SIGN had more action?
Zephyr replied to zdude255's topic in Otaku Central
Originally posted by AzureWolf I think it would be grand, though, if they had an action off-shoot of .hack after all mysteries and such have been revealed in their entirety, where you get to see all the missed action.
That is what the games are for. I know that the TV series, the games, and the manga were all planned out at about the same time, and named "Project .Hack". I am guessing that the creators wanted three seperate genres for each, those being: Mystery--.Hack//SIGN Action--.Hack Games Comedy--.Hack//Legend of The Twilight As it stands I cannot confirm the last part, but I know from the back of the .Hack//LOTT manga that the three were planned out as one. -

Zephyr replied to zdude255's topic in Otaku Central
Umm.....no, not really. I prefer the anime to actually have a plot. Pounding someone's head in with a stick is fine for DBZ, but .Hack//SIGN is good because of the fact that it actually makes you think. It is the same as Boogiepop Phantom. Besides, things pick up in the later episodes. -
My dog couldn't care less what I'm watching, as long as he has a good seat on the couch.
LOL! That sounds exactly like my dogs. One always has our large recliner and the other has half a couch. As for the rest of the family. My father is too closeminded to watch any anime. He tries to heckle me about it, but his limited knowledge makes him an easy target for a backlash. I doubt my mother or sister could care less. Neither seems to watch much TV, and my sister hates to read (even with pictures). If they do not wish to see any of it, then oh well. They will never know what they are missing, since anime is better then a lot of American TV (except Smallville).

First off, make sure you have the names entered correctly. I have made that mistake before. After you know they are right, head to the lowest level of the dungeon and find the Gott Statue. You should find the items in there. If not, check the rest of the treasure chests on the same floor. I think that in one of the dungeons there is a treasure chest on the same floor that has a rare weapon. If you are not sure about the names, try looking on www.gamefaqs.com for the level names.
