I checked my local comic shop yesterday for any info on the release of the third volume. The shop had a book of releases for the month of October which listed it. At least that is a good sign that it will be released within this year.

Shortly after their arrival, Phelan snuck out of the hotel and headed into the "bad" part of town. Phelan needed to blow off some steam over the actions Zerverius had taken earlier. There was always one way he enjoyed blowing off steam. Every major city had one, and it did not take long to find it. Twenty minutes later, Phelan was knocked to the ground by a brutal kick to the chest. Around him the crowd roared, and the person that delivered the kick smiled smuggly. Phelan merely kicked off the ground and answered the kick with a cresent kick to the man's skull. Taking part in underground fighting matches was not the healthiest way to relieve anger, but it suited Phelan just fine. To make it more interesting, he had decided to take on the biggest fighter that the underground had to offer. The man was six inches taller then Phelan, and had to weight seventy pounds more, most of it muscle. That just made it more interesting. His opponent stumbled from the kick, ginving Phelan enough time to perform a sweep kick, followed by a fast as lightning neck jab. The tall man fell to the ground clutching his throat. One last elbow slam to the face finished it. Phelan stood up and left the fighting ring to return to the streets. His face was bloody, his body would be bruised tomorrow, and his head still ached from an earlier punch, but he had managed to blow off the steam he needed to, and came out of it with a decent bit of prize money.

Bewahren awoke in a grassy field, staring up at the night sky. In reality the "brief rest" he had taken was used to scan the files of The World for any activity that was not part of the normal parameters. Thankfully, things seems quiet for now. Bewahren used this break to stare at the star covered sky. I wonder if humans see this kind of bueaty in the real world's night sky. His thoughts were interrupted by a ringing sound, similar to a tuning fork. Know what the sound meant, Bewahren scanned the net in search of its origin, finding it to be in Sargon. He stood up and gated into the city. Bewahren snuck into a nearby alley, to avoid being seen. Holding his hand out, he opened a small "window" in mid-air. The window showed a map of Sargon, and three red dots, two of which were inside a nearby building. Bewahren closed the window and left the alley. He walked into the building and immediately noticed the two people he was looking for, sitting at a table in the back, talking. Bewahren sat down at an empty table and pretended to wait for someone. All the while he was keeping an eye on the two players with the red moon necklaces. So, those are two of the chosen?
I have an update on volume 3 of the .hack manga! I just found out yesterday that it is definitely being released in August (when it was originally supposed to be released). They kept changing things on the website so I got confused but I know this for a fact now because it is on order at a comic book store called Midtown Comics in NYC.[/color']
Are you sure the order is for August, and not a few months later? The reason I ask is, the comic shop I go to has not recieved an order form for it, and their forms include items set for a September/October release date. TokyoPop's site still lists a November release.

Real World (This character is a Wandering AI. Therefore, it has no Real World info. A bio will be included below.) 'The World' Name: Bewahren (a German word meaning to guard/protect) Age: 20 Sex: Male Class: Wavemaster Level: 40 (approximate level based on game levels) Blessed Weapon: None Bio: Bewahren is a Wandering AI program created by Morganna, shortly before her defeat by Kite. His data is based off of Cubia, so he naturally fights to protect the system from the illegal activities that threaten it. However, his data is altered enough that he actively seeks out such activity, instead of waiting for it to appear, as Cubia did. Also unlike Cubia, he has Morganna's program for Wavering (the ability to have varying moods and behaviors), though interaction with the humans in the game has kept it from malfuntioning like Morganna's did. Bewahren can move through, and detect problems in the system data, which allows him to respond to illegal activity quickly. In addition to that, he can alter limited amounts of data, which allowed him to create the Blessed Weapons, and provide five players with their power. Bewahren hopes that these players will be able to help him stop the Hackers attacks on The World, before his home is destroyed. Personality: Cold and calculating most of the time. Very straightforward, and quick to take a command role if others will not. Having been born in The World he can seem too mean to humans, but he has learned to treat humans with respect, and to be polite to them. Appearance: (See Attachment) Arms, legs, collar (anything black in the pic) is silver, vest is still red, and the buttons and metal rings on the sleeves are a gunmetal blue. Hair is a dark crimson. (Amgoddess, PM me if you feel any changes are needed)

The third volume is set to be released on the 9th of November. That is what the TokyoPop website says.

OOC: Sorry for the disappearing act. Personal matters interfered. Phelan shook himself back to reality. There was no time to worry about Jalena's odd behavior. Moving quickly he rushed upstairs and grabbed a small, black leather bag from his room. Inside was a portible computer and other equipment he used for hacking into computers. Given the level of security around the notebook they were being sent to find, he figured he may need the computer. Rushing back outside, Phelan moved across the small tarmac, and into the side entrance to the aircraft. He dropped into one of the chairs, and placed his bag in the small storage area underneath the seat. Jalena sat in the seat next to him as the plane started to move. Phelan turned to he and spoke in a low voice. "What is going on Jalena? It is not like you to act this way." "There is...something I need to do before this mission." Jalena fell silent, and refused to answer any more of Phelan's questions. Phelan just sighed and sat back. This is going to be a long mission.

Whoa! That is awesome. The font blends very well with the style. Many, many thanks ArunueShekamari for the banner.

Phelan shifted uncomfortably in the business suit he had donned for this mission. He growled a bit as Lina chuckled quietly. The plan for this hit had been rather simple. Lina used her knowledge of the target's bank to set up a meeting, under the ruse of having important info about his account. Phelan took a supporting role, playing the part of Lina's assistant. At the same time, Imi and Zeos (wherever they went to) were out to kill the businessman's partners. The two waited in the small lobby for a few minutes before they were ushered into the office by the secretary. Phelan took notice of the fact they no one was waiting in the lobby for their turn, and the businessman had just finished telling the secreatry that she could punch out for lunch. Good. That will make it much easier to escape from here. Lina and Phelan were greeted by the man halfway between his desk and the door. As he turned around to return to his desk, the businessman was never aware of his approaching death. Phelan slid his watch from his wrist, and pulled at the small ring around the battery case. The ring popped open, and Phelan pulled lose three foot of coiled wire. Fast as lightning, Lina jumped in front of the man and slammed her fist into his ribcage. The blow only stunned him, but stopped him long enough for Phelan to wrap the garrote around his neck. After four minutes of struggling the businessman fell limp. Phelan let the body slump, then opened his briefcase to remove a sheet of paper with a Tong symbol on it. As he placed the sheet next to the corpse he noticed Lina appeared to be praying. "Do you always pray for the souls of those you have a hand in killing." "Yes, I do. Just because I kill them does not mean I hold a grudge, or wish them anything bad in the afterlife." Phelan shrugged and turned to leave. He had never thought of killing that way. He rarely thought anything of it to begin with. A target was a target.

Ha ha. I love, DW. These are getting to be classic, and it is only the second one. The only thing missing is me, playing the random bystander that gets caught in the middle of a fight scene, and possibly blown up. :D Just keep 'em coming for us.

So far the show is quite interesting. It is great to see some humor in the .Hack series, as opposed to the complete seriousness to SIGN, and the occasional joke in the games. Most of the episodes are interesting because of the changes made from the manga. The only exception so far is the episode explaining how Hotaru got the grunty (since it was a complete rip-off from an episode of SIGN). Out of the characters in the show, my two favorites are Mirielle and Ouka. Mirielle is a favorite because Sandy Fox does such a good job of breathing a unique life into her, and providing her with some interesting behaviors. Ouka is just fun to watch whenever there is a monster to beat up, or when she is toying with Shugo's emotions.

Phelan finished latching down his motorcycle in the small jet's cargo area, and proceeded to the cabin. Poking his head into the cockpit he told the pilot that everything was secure, before sitting down in one of the jet's leather seat. He was facing the rear of the plane. Lina sat across from him, seperated by a table with a small computer screen for each seat. Hailey sat on the other side of the plane, facing Zeos and Imi. As the jet kicked into a take-off Phelan chatted with Lina, but the conversation fell silent shortly after the start of the flight. Phelan waited for his ears to pop from the pressurization of the cabin, then turned to face everyone as best he could. "All right," he said to get their attention, "we've got a long flight to L.A. so let's make the best out of it. The computer terminals in front of you contain all the info that we have on Kevin Halstead and his people. I suggest you all take the time to review it, and think of the best way to pull off this mission. Keep in mind the Zerverius wants it to look like he was killed by his enemies." With that, Phelan and the rest of the group got to work studying the files. As he read, Phelan thought up numerous possible routes. Some he kept track of, but most he got rid of, due to potential flaws that were revealed by the new info. Noticing the others were begin to talk to each other he figured they had some ideas too. "So, any suggestions?"

MW3 was not the most impressive game of the series, but at least the graphics were good. Other then that it was too short, and way too easy compared to the MW2 line. Then again, everything after MW3 is worse, since FASA closed it's doors, and Microsoft had no one to tell them how to make the games properly. As for where to play it online, check out Microsoft's website. Or, it should be listed in the back of the instruction booklet. The only problem is, MW3 is old enough that it may no longer be part of Microsoft's collection.

I am looking for another Noir banner. Here are the specific things I am looking for: --Background of the scene in episode 1 where Kirika is standing on the I-beam at the construction site, backlit by the sun. --The "Noir" logo that appears on the DVD covers --The words: "Where the black sun never sets" Thanks in advance to anyone that creates a banner.

You are a sad and lonely man, aren't you DW? That was funny, though. I feel sorry for Syk3, seeing how you treat him. You should definately make an Episode 2. Once everyone sees this it will be in high demand. "Now get going, before I get Pulp Fiction on yo' ***." :D

Gaming .hack//INFECTION / MUTATION / OUTBREAK / QUARANTINE
Zephyr replied to DotHacker32's topic in Noosphere
ive checked my disc many times but it freezes every time i play "Epitath". Nothing make senses any more.....
The data on your disc may have been messed up when it was created (burned) or the memory card could have corrupted data that causes the game to freeze when it cannot be read. If you can play the movie normally when starting a new game, but not after getting it from the Ryu Books, then I would say the data on the memory card it bad. The only way to fix that is try to start a new game, and hope it was just a bad save the last time. -
Dagger's gonna have some serious moderating to do. No other mods are online... Luckily this does not happen often (first time I have seen it in the year I have been here, and the 3+ years on other forums), and hopefully the mods can block the IP address to prevent it happening again.

Death with the greatest meaning: Anyone, in Grave of The Fireflies:
None of the deaths in this movie were unique, or interesting, but they certainly had the most powerful meaning behind them that any anime had. There was no good-evil relation to the deaths, and nothing that got close to a glamorous death (like Spike in Cowboy Bebop). Only the truth, and the horrors of World War II. No other anime has ever hit that close to reality.
Most lingering death: Mirielle's family, from Noir:
This is one death that comes back to haunt the main charaters, and the viewers at the same time. Most episodes contain a short glimps of their deaths, which contines to become longer each time, until the final revelation about it is reached around episode 17 (I think that is the right one). Plus it has that link to the pocke twatche's song, which is often the trigger of the flashbacks.
Best overall death: Spike, from Cowboy Bebop:
What can I say, this is just an awesome death. What could be more fun then punting a live grenade into a tower lobby, followed by the twenty story shootout, and ending with a double death?
Phelan sat on the edge of the parlor's large bay window and stared out at the night sky. Large patches of the sky were blocked by the shadowy shapes of the trees, and ten-foot tall hedges just outside the window. Phelan sighed quietly over this problem. Why do people with money insist on buying large houses with large windows, then decide to block the view with tacky plants? The sounds of Imi and Jalena arguing turned Phelan's attention away from the blocked sky. It was not only the outside that bothered him, but the whole house itself. Despite having been in numerous houses like it, he still hated the style that any masion had. Small, simple, and average had always been his choice of house, since it drew less attention, and was easier to keep is good shape. "As soon as the meeting is over you will be shown to you room. Until then you should wait." Jalena continued arguing with Imi. "Jalena," Phelan called from the window sill, "just calm down. Everyone here is a bit excited over what it happening. There is no need to make it worse." Playing peacekeeper was not Phelan's strong suit, but at least Jalena would listen to him, sometimes. "Until Zerverius gets here it would be best to stay in this room," Phelan looked toward Imi, "after he is done speaking you will have all the time you want." Phelan did not bother to see if his attempt to calm the two had worked, and he returned his gaze to the half-hidden sky. What in the world are you thinking, Zerverius? Is this wait just test, to see how we all behave?

Phelan waited outside the high school's large automotive classroom, which was not much more then a garage, as the last of the class left. Walking inside he noticed that Mr. Steiner was still there. Mr. Steiner was one of the few teachers in the school that saw Phelan as little more then an arrogant punk, and treated him more as a friend then a student. "Leaving so soon today, Phelan?" "Yeah, last class was cancelled. The teacher was sick, and no one is on call for replacement." Phelan spoke as he took his leather jacket and a black racing helmet from a small locker. Thanks of his friendship with the automotive teacher he was allowed to park his motorcycle in the garage, so long as it could be used as a class reference. The locker was just a bonus, since no one else used it. As he picked up his helmet he noticed a small, white envelope with his name on the front. "Ohh yeah," Mr. Steiner chimed in, "some young girl asked me to give that to you." "Thanks." "No prob." Inside the envelope as a small sheet of paper with a few lines of words on it. Zerverius is plotting again. Meeting at Angel?s Warehouse tonight. --Jalena "Catch ya later, teach." Phelan said as he hopped on his motorcycle and left the school. Once inside the Angel?s Warehouse Phelan walked up to the bar, and was greeted by Jacob's usual obnoxious behavior. The two talked for a few minutes before Jacob moved to help some other customer, and Phelan headed upstairs to the VIP room. Thankfully the room was soundproof, and stopped that pulsating music that did little more then give Phelan a headache.

OOC: Hey, Amgoddess. This looks like a kick *** first RP thread. Good going. --------------------------------------- Name: Phelan Cross Codename: Spectre (old-English spelling) Gender: Male Age: 18 Description: Just imagine Kiba from Wolf's Rain (See attachtment) Weapons: Garrote built into wristwatch, dagger hidden inside of his coat's lining Personality: Tends to be quiet, and keeps to himself. He finds it is easier to kill some one when you do not get to know them personally. Despite this, he gets along with anyone he becomes friends with. History: Phelan's life was pretty much normal for the first twelve years. He was born into a middle-class, blue collar family with a small home, a dog, and white picket fences (the cheesiest of America dreams :p ). Early martial arts training gave him a boost in his natural agility, and a computer with internet connection gave him the chance to test himself by hacking systems. It was this enjoyment of hacking that got him noticed for the first time. At the age of twelve Phelan was caught trying to hack Zerverius?s computer system, which was far to advanced for his skills. A team of Zerverius?s "suits" were sent to clean up the problem. In his attempt to evade the team he only caught their leader's eye more, by demonstration his acrobatic movement. From the point forward he was given the choice to be moved and trained by Zerverius?s group, or be killed. Since then he has been relocated, trained, and provided with everything needed to fool those around him into thinking that he is just a normal high school kid, with a normal, although fake, family. Profession: High school student, given a false job performing stockwork for a local store Skills: Stealth, inflitration, and acrobatic movements, computer hacking, basic martial arts Specialty: Uses close range weapons such as knives and garrotes (strings for choaking people) How is that? Good enough? I will find a pic and post it later. EDIT: Added picture for my character. It is not the best, but it gets the idea across.

Anime Cartoon Network Line-Ups...and anime on television announcements
Zephyr replied to Syk3's topic in Otaku Central
In extension to Monkey_Orange's post I have learned (via animenewsnetwork.com) that immediately after .Hack//DUSK there is a new episode of Cyborg 009. This is the second season that has been rumored to be on the way for a while. I still cannot believe that CN did not advertise for either of these. Seems pointless to not tell people, then put them on latenight Fridays. What is CN thinking? -
"The next fight will be between Samantha Pryde and Phelan Cross." Phelan looked up as he heard his name, then pushed off from the wall and followed his opponent to the fighting arena (or whatever it is). Both fighters took their spots and faced off. Phelan stretched his arms a bit, and tried his best to appear uninterested in the fight. As he hoped, this seemed to visibly irritate Samantha. In truth, Phelan was paying very close attention to the fight, and was using the stretches to hide the fact that he was sizing up his opponent. Samantha was easily half a foot shorter then him, and probably thirty pounds lighter. This would give Phelan a mass advantage. One he intended to exploit. "Fighters, begin." The announcer shouted. Samantha charged in right away, still annoyed by Phelan's earlier trick. Phelan replied by charging her and the two slammed their right shoulders into each others chests. Samantha was staggered by the hit, and nearly fell over. Phelan quickly landed a punch to the side of he head. Samantha's vision swam and she toppled to the ground. The rest was brief as she jumped back up and smashed a low cresent kick to Phelan's left thigh. In response, Phelan grabbed her leg and twisted to the side, forcing her to the ground again. Not giving her another chance, Phelan grabbed Samantha by the throat, using his his elbow to lock her to his chest and squeeze her neck at the same time. For the next three minutes Samantha landed as many blows as she could to break the hold, but Phelan's pain tolerance out lasted her, and she fell limp. The referee began the count, but there was no way she would wake up in time to stay in the fight. Phelan released Samantha's unconscious body and moved off to the side to await the next fight. Despite his pain tolerance, his side still began to ache from the elbow shots Samantha landed to his kidneys during the headlock.
