1. Aww, I suppose it's too late to join? I don't visit Anthology much so I didn't actually see this thread untill now. :( I'll have to jump in next time I guess. D:
 2.
Yet another old-school entry here; I'm hitting Kirby 64 (The Crystal Shards). Gotta love the 64.
Dude, awesome. I love that game. I remember when I first picked it up when I was like 10. Good memories. You make me want to go back and play it. I'd just need to find my 64... and the game. :animeswea Well for the past week I was playing Smash Bros. Brawl but my broken 360 finally made its way back from repairs so I'm going on a Rock Band playing spree. I downloaded a buttload of new songs (nothing beats playing Still Alive on Guitar while singing) and am having a blast. Rock Band is such a timeless multiplayer game. Other then that I've just been playing World of Warcraft. Currently working on a recent character on Skullcrusher. Level 41 Draenei Shaman, slowly making my way to 70. ^o^

 5. This is brilliantly witty, Gav. It has a good mix of humor and action which you've proved go together like peanut butter and apples (a good combination, try it sometime). I'm excited to see what happens next. :D
 6.
PROLOGUE The year is 2052 and it's been 50 years since Man discovered the existence of Digimon. Ever since that barrier between our world and theirs started to rip and those original 8 DigiDestined were sent to the Digital World to save it from destruction, the relationship between Human and Digimon has grown and strengthened. These days 1 in every 500 children born become a DigiDestined and go into a Digimon-Themed Job. People lucky enough to be chosen to have a Digimon get special treatment in exchange for an agreement to sign their and their Digimon's life to a Digital Occupation like a Tamer, a person who battles their Digimon (none are harmed) for the entertainment of the people or a Saver who keeps unwanted Digimon in the Digital World. But ever since the days the Digidestined and the few after them traveled between the Real and Digital Worlds, none have been able to get back into The Digital World. Somehow the Digimon manage to get here but we're only to send them back, not ourselves with them. I knew something was wrong. If the first DigiDestined were chosen because of something that happened in the Digital World that called for their help, how come we've been continuously getting DigiDestined at a steady rate since we discovered Digimon? To understand the answer to that question you have to realize something. When the Digital World is in trouble, the Real World sends humans to help. But what if it works the opposite way too? If our world is in danger, the Digital World sends Digimon. If that's true, then our world has been "in trouble" ever since we discovered Digimon. It seems that our two worlds aren't meant to know each other. Then we found something that proved it. A Digimon who we identified as Prophetmon ripped through a portal in the very center of the Digimon Research Company base. Right then and there, this Digimon told all of us there the story of the First DigiDestined. According to Prophetmon, the children selected were from the Middle Ages. I happened to be sitting at my computer when Prophetmon appeared so while he told the story of the First DigiDestined I wrote every single world down in a blank document. When he was done telling the tale I saved it and posted it on a brand new website. After the story was finished, Prophetmon went back to the Digital World leaving us with nothing but a riddle. Nobody could tell what the riddle meant... but I deciphered it. In 3 days, the whole world would forget the existence of Digimon and all the currently Digidestined would be sent to the Digital World. After I realized this, I knew the story of the First DigiDestined would be useless knowledge but I thought someone out there should know anyway. I know by putting it on the internet it will eventually be found so I'm hoping whoever is reading this will pass it on as a myth or... a legend. The Legend of the First DigiDestined.
So that's the introduction then! We're playing the role of either one of the first DigiDestined or one of their Digimon. If you can't find someone to play your DigiDestined or your Digimon then you can do both, but only sign up as one of them so I can match you up with others. You can't play the role of a Digimon without a Destined partner or vice versa. 7. Wow, awesome! I'm liking the fact that I have inhuman strength and cybernetic limbs. I'm really quite honored to have this incomprehensible strength. Thank you, everyone! The action in this chapter seemed more quick and to the point this time around, which I felt may have come off a little rushed. However it was still very thrilling and I wasn't disappointed at all. Excellent chapter. :animesmil And like DW, my favourite part was definitely...
?And the name?s Zen now, 8bit.? ?Fuck if I care. You?re gonna be called dead in a few minutes anyways.?

 9.
I'd look for something that makes people rethink how they play video games. Think of games such as Super Mario Brothers, NiGHTS into Dreams, Jet Set Radio, and Katamari Dymacy (did I spell that right?).
I think I know what you mean. But I don't see why you couldn't do that with an FPS or an MMORPG, anyway. In fact I think it would be a greater achievement if one could change the way people perceive video games in a genre where so many games exist. I 'm reminded of Half Life 2. I see where you're coming from, though. I'd love to make a totally new type of game for the DS that really takes advantage of the stylus and touch screen. I know it's not my original idea, but I think a sequel to Uniracers would translate really well to the DS (if you've played the original for the SNES you can probably see how).
 10. Very nice work here. It seemed like Anthology was going through a bit of a OB fanfic drought after the flurry of stories from last year but I'm glad they're making a come back for 2008. And what better way to start it off then with a continuation of The Hit? I've got to say there was one line that really stood out for me.
I was about to speak again when I heard Raiha?s voice mutter something softly through tears. ?I?ll kill you??
That was perfect. I could feel the tension between Gavin and Raiha right away. Especially after reading Raiha's little explanation post afterwards. Great writing there. Can't wait to read more!
 11. I wrote and posted this on the GameFAQs Brawl forum for some reason. Maybe you guys will be interested in reading it.
Why Donkey Kong's Final Smash is ONE of the best in the game. First let's just look at Donkey Kong for a bit. In the original smash bros. game, he was considered to be the strongest character in the game. No other character could quite pack a punch like DK. In melee, Donkey Kong was not gimped. He didn't exactly get any upgrades but still, he remained a good, solid character. Now in Brawl, I feel that DK is a lot stronger in ways. This is mostly thanks to his Final Smash. The DK Bongos. Now Final Smashes can be very different from each other, and it's hard to say one is better then another, but if you use the bongos correctly, his FS can beat out almost every other FS. Before I go on, if you don't already know the "secret" to working his final smash, it's very simple. You just tap any group of buttons (I've found just hitting one doesn't work unless I was pressing the wrong button) to the beat of the song playing during his final smash. It's a very standard beat so it's easy to do. Every time you hit the right button(s) right on time it makes the sound waves from his bongos much wider, stronger and dangerous to other players. Let me just say that this FS is not good on a large sized stage. But if you can pull this off anywhere near the middle of a medium or small stage, the sound waves (because they're so large, go through walls and such and constantly rotate) pretty much hit everything on the entire stage. It becomes almost impossible to dodge, and even if you do manage to escape one sound wave another one just follows and catches you. And that's the nicest thing about these sound waves, if you get hit once by them, because they hit you a little up into the air and they're rotating at the same time, you get stuck in its sequence. It's true that you weren't hitting the button on time, the character can easily escape them even after they've been hit but because tapping whatever button makes them so large characters either get stuck in it or fly off the edge of the stage. And when that happens they have to jump back onto the stage where the sound waves are covering everything (although it's likely that by the time they get back to the stage the song will be over). But that's another bonus to the FS. The character it goes with. Even if your opponents survive the smash, because it's so easy for DK to finish off an opponent with regular attacks, the FS serves as a great setup for the character. So why did I write all this? Well.. mostly because I'm at work and I'm done all my work for the day with about 15 minutes till I can leave, but also because I find a lot of people complain about DK's FS saying it's useless. Now you know that's not true. :D Thank you for reading what I have to say!
I'm pretty bored. :animestun EDIT: Click here to read the GameFAQs members responses. Pretty funny, lol.
 12.
It's true, I certainly can't. That's a pretty cool skill to have though, if mildly random. Any particular reason you've learned how to do that?
Born and raised in Canada. You find out one way or another eventually. I happened to learn from a field trip in elementary school. At the end of the day we got to taste it! Mmm.. Seriously, if anyone here has never had real maple syrup on their waffles or pancakes before do so now. It's delicious. Especially when the pancake/waffle is buttered first.
 13. I'm a great cook! I can make Kraft Dinner, Pizza Pockets, and even Pancakes. Okay, so those are pretty easy things to make. But do you know how to harvest true Canadian tree sap and turn it into tasty Maple Syrup? I think not.
 14.
I just can't run with the idea of 'earning' your cool-looking armor. I don't know about you, but I don't want to play some mish-mashed mess of armor pieces that don't go together. And there would be a few 'patterns' that wouldn't be available until later on in the game. But just because you're armor looks bad-*** doesn't mean it protects you any better. The enchantments and the like would scale with level. Those are the kind of abilities you should be playing for (not to mention your cool new character skills).
I don't mean to say that the templates you would start with wouldn't look badass. I just mean that you can unlock more templates/add-ons by leveling and such. So let's say you wanted spikes on your shoulder pads you could do that from get go, but if you wanted like.. 50 spikes on your shoulder pads then you might have to unlock those. It'd be cool if there was unlockable stuff that could only be received by something other then the regular grinding as well. For example let's say you get put on 50 peoples friends list just from talking to them and being a generally nice person, you would be rewarded with the Crown template or something. Y'know what I mean?
 15.
As cliché as it is, I'd go for an MMORPG, ala World of Warcraft. I will, however, admit that WoW has a lot of things done right. But I'd have far less emphasis on getting fancy gear. Most gear would be created by the PCs, with a huge array of templates and the ability to color it your own way (including creating your own coat-of-arms, etc). It would have to have an insanely good character generator (like the various Tiger Woods games, though there is likely better ones that I haven't seen).
I really like your idea of focusing on inter-character relations. I loved RPing in WoW back when people actually role played on the RP servers so it would be fun for sure. But I have to question your user-created gear idea.. I think creating and colouring your own gear sounds good but when push comes to shove I think it's better for people to earn their epic looking armor. If you could create amazing equipment from the get go there wouldn't be much there to keep you playing the game. I know basically the two main things that keep people grinding away in WoW are better gear and better skills. Take one of those out and you lose a lot. Ooh~ an idea just popped into my head. I suppose you could only start with a small selection of templates and colours to choose from (different ones depending on your class?) and have to quest/level/whathaveyou to get better looking ones. This sounds like a fun MMO! :animesmil
 16. There's something about a baby in hysterics that just puts me in stitches. Adorable and hilarious!
 17.
Where did you hear that?
When you guys started talking about tripping here I had no idea what it was (having not experienced it myself) so I just googled it. A good portion of the links that came up said the same thing (what I mentioned before). It probably not 100% accurate because of that but oh well. Maybe I'm just really fortunate because I honestly haven't tripped once since buying the game. *shrug*
 18. Oops! Sorry about that. I'll have to fix it when I get back from work today. :animeswea EDIT: Alright, it should be the right size now. I also added a couple touch-ups. Let me know if you want anything changed or a matching avatar or something.. Enjoy! ^o^
 19. I actually almost never trip. At least not that I can think of. Apparently it only happens when you try running in the direction opposite of the direction your character is facing and even then it only happens sometimes. Of course tripping is one reason why I love Diddy. Gotta love them bananers.
 20. I can think of a few actually... First would be Dragon Ball Z. When I was a kid and watched Frieza completely
obliterate Krillen when they were on Namek
I was crushed. It was so sad. :( Second would be in Pokemon. The part where
Butterfree leaves Ash to be with the other Butterfrees was heart-wrenching as a Pokemon-obsessed 7 year old. The episode was even called "Bye, Bye, Butterfree!"
Okay, so he didn't actually die but it was still sad! Lastly would be in an Anime I've only recently started watching a couple weeks ago. It's called Death Note. I don't think I even have to mention which death I'm talking about because I'm sure any Death Note fan knows exactly which one was the saddest but just in case...
I'm talking about "Ryuga Hideki's" death, of course. And while it was very depressing (the whole episode was) I think in the end he deserved it.

 21. I'll definitely take a shot at this. I'll edit this post when I'm done. :animesmil EDIT: Okay, I know you said to use Ace instead of Aceburner but I felt like the burner part was necessary to fill out the banner more. If you are going to use this banner and you want it changed to just Ace, I can do that.
 22. I'm going to kill Boo. But I'm glad it's still around! It's pretty much up there with any thread Prick Wizard made for best thread ever. :animesmil
 23. I was kicking around old threads recently when I decided I'd like to read through the thread "The Complaint" just for kicks. I've looked... and looked. I'm pretty sure it's gone. What happened to it? There must be a logical explanation for its disappearance. If it's been deleted I'm wondering why, it's a part of OtakuBoards history.
 24. In an effort to create a thread in the Arcade that'll generate discussion that isn't just about one game I pose to you this question, If you could make your own game, that is develop, design, and sell it, what would it be? What genre? System? etc. Personally I would try to create a game with a unique control scheme. I've thought about this before and I think it would be cool to have the main character slowly gain access to the four elements. It would be third person and each element would use their own set of buttons. Let's say this game uses a 360 controller, the right analog stick would be used to control the element while other buttons would activate the elements. Press the right trigger and the character will raise a boulder from the ground (the boulder would be bigger depending on how long you held down the trigger), flick the right analog stick forward and he'll shoot the boulder forward. I could go into more detail with different elements and different ways to control them but I think you get the point. Anyway, you'd advance through the game following a very compelling story (of course) and slowly gain more and more strength in the different elements. By the end of the game you'd have all four elements and all would be at maximum strength (with the ability the lift the entire ground infront of you or create a fire tornado by spinning the analog stick repeatedly with the fire button held and then shooting it forward). It would make for one epic end boss fight. Epic boss fights are a must in any game I would create. What about you guys? I want to know your ideas for games. ^o^
 25.
Small question here: Items should be turned off for the tournament matches, right? And also a reminder: All participants in a match would need to have items turned off to keep them from showing up, not just the host.
Actually for the first four matches I'd like all items to be on, including Dragoon Parts, Assist Trophies and Smash Balls. In the Semi-Finals however the only item will be the Smash Ball and the final match will have no items. This tournament will probably go by pretty fast so we can always do another one where all the matches have no items or other things.
