So the opening cinematic is finally out on the internet. Click here to watch it. But heed my warning, it contains spoilers for returning characters. ;)

Man, why do you guys all hate dating so much? O_o I love dating. It's a really good way to strengthen a relationship with someone you don't know too well yet or someone who you do know already. Yes, sometimes you will go on a bad date but they don't always go wrong. The whole process of going on one good date and then a second and perhaps a third (to the point where you make it official) is very exciting. :animesmil

Wow. Well, I can see you're very talented. How long have you been doing this for? I'm curious. The first two banners (the smaller ones) are my favorites. Especially "i only dream of you." Something about the simpleness of it really stands out. Freedom Fighter is good, but seems like it's sort of incomplete. I think the brushing on the right side could be softened a little bit. I would also make the entire thing a little bit shorter (it seems a bit tall compared to the character and text somehow). Other then that they're all amazing. Kudos to you. ^o^

Whew, I decided to take a crack at this. It would have helped to have like the genre of the RPG or something but I did what I could. ^o^ I got a little carried away with the text. Click! Nation: Swamp Nomad Element: Water What was your character doing when they heard news of Wu Ren's death?
As Louie and his three swamp land friends made their way into New Ba Sing Se he could tell by the way his Gecko Bat hid under his giant leaf hat that people were staring at them. It was alright though because Louie was completely used to it. Now that he was older he finally understood that being different from everyone else wasn't a bad thing. However he was a little surprised when he first left the swamp lands at the age of 13 only to find that not everyone hunted Hippo Fish in river boats. The Earth Kingdom people walked about their day in long green cloaks while Louie and the Swamp Nomads toughed out the intense swamp heat in green underpants. The more he thought about it the more he started thinking it might be wise to put on at least a shirt before entering another nations city whose traditions and fashion sense were much different. However he was too proud to be a Swamp Nomad to even care. The four swamp natives found themselves lining up for almost two hours before finally getting a chance to trade at the trading post. While the three older men squabbled and bartered with the tradesman, Louie wondered around the city, curious about other cultures. A bunch of people gathered around a small stage in the middle of a crossroad where three fire bender performers showed off their tricks. Louie glanced upward and spoke to his pet. "Hmm, maybe we should move to the fire nation! What do you think, Euoo?" he asked the small bat winged lizard perched on his head. It replied with a tiny screech clearly stating no. Euoo could barely stand leaving the swamp let alone leaving the entire country. Suddenly, as if out of nowhere a pulse negative energy flowed right through Louie. Every other bender in the world felt it. And even if they didn't realize it (Louie certainly didn't), it was the world telling them something horrible had happened. The Avatar had died. A few minutes later newspaper boys were out on the street screaming the newest headline on the Ba Sing Se paper. "Avatar Wu Ren dead in Avatar State! Read all about it!" As soon as he heard this, Louie's heart dropped. Even a simple living swamp folk like him knew what happened when an Avatar died in the Avatar state. Chaos.
Yeah, as soon as you start playing on expert you really have to make sure you've mastered (or at least can do) hammer-ons and pull-offs. They make a world of a difference during those ridiculous solos.
About two hours in practice mode yielded an 84% on Heart-Shaped Box when I put it up to full speed. And that was one of the easier songs I tried. Getting through the game is going to take a while this time.
That's all it takes really, a lot of practice. Even for people who have a knack for the game start at medium and slowly make their way to hard and expert. It just takes patience. Getting a second controller and playing with friends helps a lot just because you get a lot more practice in without even noticing it. And it's hella fun.

I only just got my 360 a couple weeks ago so right now the only online game I own is Rock Band. I'll be getting more games as time goes on for sure, though. Soon I'll have Team Fortress 2 to play around with. Somebody play Rock Band with me. >:{D

Sonic's homing spin looks devilish. I like. I also like the sheer speed of Zero Suit Samus; apparently her Final allows her to regain her power suit??
I really can't wait to play as Sonic. The way he recovers from hits so easily and can get from one side of the stage to the other so quickly just amazes me. I'm looking forward to him. There's a good five minutes of Brawl game play on GameTrailers. Click here. There's a couple final smashes in there as well.

Heck, why not. I'll join.

We've actually thought about using a different kind of element system where at the beginning of every challenge I'll present a list of certain elements the players can choose from and that's the element they use for that round. Say there's five elements, each one will have its own strength and weakness for the challenge. In the case of more people then elements, I can easily say once an element has been chosen twice you cannot take that one and have to settle for something less. You only have it for a round anyway. EDIT: I've decided I'm going to save this RP for the summer. It'll be a lot more fun with more people participating and in the summer there will be a lot more people with free time to join. If you still want your elemental RP fix, I'm making an Avatar RP soon. ^_^
That's really weird. I looked on the forums and no one else seems to be experiencing the issue... Could it be firewall related?
I turned off my firewall and it didn't make a difference. I think that while I was installing the game a file may have got corrupted or something. I'm going to have to delete the entire game. Here goes nothing. Edit: Well that worked. The game works now and I can play continuously without getting disconnected. Yaay~!

my problem with the drums is, they are only toms and a bass, and toms are only fun with quints or quads when you are marching or in drumline, or atleast that's my postion.
Just so you know the drums have one snare, two toms, a cymbal and a bass pedal. As well as certain songs have hi-hat parts. When you get to do your own drum solo in the middle of a song and you're a real drummer so you aren't just wacking for points it's best thing in the world. Honestly, if what I'm seeing here is that you're a concerned drummer and I'm right, don't fret. Imagine getting to do one of your snare rolls in the middle of your favourite song.

I'm shocked there isn't already a thread for this. Rock Band, if you haven't already heard of it (which is unlikely), is Harmonix's newest game (they made the first two Guitar Hero games) and I must say it rocks. Where in previous rhythm and music games, the multi player may have seemed a little dry, Rock Band completely refreshes everything. Basically up to four people can play together as a virtual band using one of four different instruments (guitar, bass, vocals and drums). It comes packed with tons of songs (and a new song pack every week) for unlimited replay value and the vibe you get when you and your buddies are jamming along is enough to give you goosebumps. I don't actually own the game yet (soon! I ordered it online and will be getting it in one week) but I did get the opportunity to play it a couple times at my friends house and I was really blown away. Has anyone else played this? What do you guys think of it compared to Guitar Hero III?
Edit - Actually, I forgot: If you add one character from a friend you can see all of their characters when they're online. I almost exclusively play as Branson on Gladden, so if you add him and let me know who you are we'll be set. Otherwise feel free to IM me or PM me if you need to.
Well, I got it downloaded and made a character and all that (his name is Brenoa). But for some reason at a random point in time I suddenly started getting disconnected from the server a lot. I can't even play the game for 5 minutes now without it suddenly d/cing. I've got a top notch computer and an average connection so I'm kind of frustrated. I really enjoyed what I had the chance to play. I'm trying to reinstall it now, hopefully that'll work. It's a lot like how I remember it in beta but for some reason it's a lot more fun this time around (maybe Minstrel suits me better then the other classes I tried). I don't think I'll be buying it anytime soon just because I just bought Rock Band today and I already owe money so I'm kind of strapped for cash. However if I'm ever looking for an MMO in the future this will definitely be my first choice. I really hope I can get the trial to work properly again. :/
That sound about right? I'm game. :animesmil
That's exactly right. Sorry I couldn't explain it well. I'll be putting in more info when the recruitment thread is made. At least then you'll get a better understanding of the story. Umm, if anyone has any ideas for different elements people can choose from feel free to suggest them. This is what I've got so far, it will be one element per person. Water, Earth, Fire, Forest, Air, and Lightning. As well as Spirit which allows you to connect to spirits of certain things to gain abilities. So like gain the Spirit of the Cheetah to get super fast running speed, or the Spirit of the Hawk for impeccable eyesight.
Do the players who are permanently removed still have any posting power? Just saying, some people might not like playing a game and not helping to finish it. But that's the point of games, isn't it?
Once a player has lost all three of their lives, the only way for them to have any influence on the game is the same way other members (who were never in the RP to begin with) do which is occasionally voting and other things. Also there might be some twists where an old player is brought back from dead.
I do have one question regarding the whole "Tainted One" scenario. Surely, if the Dark One wins a challenge and then another player becomes Tainted, won't the Tainted One immediately know who the Dark One is? Is there some kind of rule in place that means they can't make their guess to you, or divulge the information to any of the other players?
The Tainted One never actually finds out who the Dark One is. The Dark One tells me in private who they want to corrupt and I tell the chosen person in private that they've been tainted for one round.

Anyway, I play on Gladden if anyone wants to try it out. They also have a nice referral system, so if anyone feels like they'll sign up you can give me your e-mail you registered with. Helps me out and technically I AM referring you lol. I'd also be more than happy to answer any questions anyone has about it, how it compares to other MMORPGs (assuming I've played them) and so forth. I don't want to write tons of stuff up if no one is interested. I typically barely play MMORPGs at all and grow tired of them quickly (WoW included), but this one has really caught my attention and I think even those who typically dislike the genre will like it.
I hear that, somehow I always get bored of any MMO eventually (although WoW did last a lot longer then all the others I've played). When this game was first being released, I got a chance to play in the beta. There were quite a few glitches and bugs (especially with the way the quests worked) but I guess now that it has been out for a while they've fixed all that. So, you've got me interested to say the least. I'm downloading the trial right now so tomorrow after school I'll probably be able to play it and test the waters. Hopefully it will be better this time around.

You know I really hope you get the ability to throw Pikmin at foes. I know it was a lot of fun taking down enemies by throwing guy after guy at them and I think it would be just great to be able to do that to my friends, lol. Has anyone else heard anything about this rumored delay? Apparently some sites (and my friend who works at EB says their computers say the same) are changing the release date from Feb. 10 to different days in March. I refuse to believe it's true since the Dojo still says February and last time there was a delay they made it a big update and whatnot. I hope it doesn't happen but knowing Nintendo it just might. :(

It's finally here. After a lot of tweaking and planning with help from other members, the second Mafia game for Otakuboards is now ready for launch. Because this sequel is only loosely based on Mafia (where the first was a lot like it) I'm creating the Backstage thread first so you have a better idea of how things work well before you sign-up. The first thing you should know is that this time around, each person playing through the RP has their own unique elemental power. Throughout the game there will be different challenges that I will post. Using your element and surroundings in a creative way, you will complete the challenge in one (or more) post(s). Once everyone has had their character complete the challenge I will decide on a winner based on a bunch of different things (who completed the challenge in the most original way, etc). Before I tell you what winning a challenge gets you, let me explain the Dark One. You must also know (and this is important) that when a challenge is done, nobody ever finds out who won the challenge except for the person who won. I will tell them in private and give them their prize in private. The Dark One is a role given to one person at the beginning of the game. Basically they become corrupted and gain the ability to kill one person in between every challenge (keep in mind each player will have 3 lives so if you die first you aren't out of the game). The only way to die is by being killed by the Dark One so it's a very strong position to be in. Strong enough to want it to yourself. The way to become the Dark One (or steal the position of Dark One from someone else) is by figuring out who the Dark One is. Throughout the challenges, small clues can randomly be found that will slowly point towards the Dark Ones identity. If you win a challenge, you get one very big clue making it easier to see who is corrupted. Once you know how certain clues connect, you PM me with your guess and why you think that person is the killer and if your reason is good enough and your guess is correct, you will succesfully steal the position of Dark One. Keep in mind that nobody will ever know the position of Dark One has shifted to someone else. This means that over time clues can become out dated if the position keeps shifting. There are items that can be unlocked in challenges when certain conditions are met (which will remain unknown until someone accidently does it in their post) that can help keep your character alive. Things like +1 Life to any player, or Immunity for one round. So if you win a challenge, you get a clue pointing towards the Dark One. But what happens when the Dark One wins a challenge? When the corrupted player wins, they choose any one player and basically that player becomes corrupted for a turn (tainted, if you will). Both the Dark One and the Tainted One will choose someone to die in between the challenge, and once both victims have been chosen the Tainted One will return to normal. The main objective of the game is to be one of the last two survivors (as either the Dark One or a regular person) and then duke it out in one final battle. Questions? Feedback? Suggestions?

Discuss A Fantasy RPG Concept, with a Christian Twist

I think Prophetism sounds cool. I have to wonder, though, how many Gods will we have? Because if the religion is based around magic we could easily have like different types of gods. And how are the other religions coming into play? I mean if Prophetism is the only religion that allows access to magic, wouldn't that kind of make it seem like the only one true religion? Unless the other faiths allow access to different kinds of magic... Hmm. -

The Obligatory "Haul" Thread
As annoying as Nintendo's "Only release 3 a year 'til Christmastime" marketing strategy is, it's pretty effective.
I hate to break it to you bud but that's definitely not Nintendo's strategy at all. I'm sure they want to get as many Wii's out there as possible in order to make more money quicker. I was talking to my friend who works at Best Buy earlier, he was saying they got 60 Wiis in from Nintendo to sell and all of them were gone within an hour. 60 Wiis sold in one hour. That's one Wii a minute, my friend. It just really is a hot product. -

This was an amazing year for me aswell. To start I got some 360 stuff (a controller, a wireless headset and Assassin's Creed). I got a lot of nice clothes (clothes make awesome presents!). I was actually running low on sweaters so it was great that I got two new ones. :animesmil I also got the Jungle Book Anniversary Edition. I love it. SO MUCH. *sings the bare necessities* My big present this year, however, was a lacrosse stick. It's amazing. I couldn't have asked for anything better and I can't wait until I can go outside and play. -
Super Mario All Stars When I was a kid, whenever my babysitter came over she would bring her brothers Super Nintendo and All Stars and I would just sit and play it with her until my parents came home. After a while I got my own SNES for Christmas along with All Stars and Super Mario World. Now that I think about it, I think I'm a gamer because of my babysitter. Bahaha. Sonic and Knuckles I don't know how many times I beat this as a kid. But I certainly played it a lot. Especially when I found out you could join the cartridge with other Sonic games. Pokemon Games I'm not going to put them all separately, but I know I've got over 100 hours on Red, Gold, Silver (yes I had both, I'm a loser) and Sapphire. Pearl is getting there but I've still got a lot to do before I can break 100. And now games that aren't from my childhood. :D World of Warcraft Probably the only MMORPG that has gotten me to play for over 100 hours. If I added the playtime of all the characters I created for that game (which is impossible seeing as some of them are deleted) I would estimate it would be at least 60 days. Un-freaking-believable. It's for that very reason that I stopped playing. lol Guitar Hero 2 When I first started playing this game I could only play on Medium. Well, now I own all three games (Rock the 80's is more of an expansion, really) and play expert on almost every song (curse you, Herman Li!). I'm sure there are others that I have played more over 100 hours but I just can't think of them right now.
