If You Could Fly, Who Would You Spit On?
Ellerby replied to DeadSeraphim's topic in General Discussion
I don't really care who I'm spitting on, I'd just spit randomly as I fly through the air. Perhaps a dog. I hate dogs. -
4. The only thing I can suggest is that we upgrade the resolution to at least 1024x768. It's at 800x600 right now, I believe and I absolutely hate it. I run at 1680x1280 which is bigger than average, I know but even when I see it at 1280x1024 it seems small. If you're still running at 800x600 you need to stop living in the past.

Another piece of advice I would give is not to ask out close friends. I mean, I know it seems like a good idea to date someone you know is genuine but it's really not. It makes for awkward moments. You're used to being just friends so making that step to dating can be extremely difficult. I've dated two friends and two strangers. The two friends lasted about 2 weeks each and the two strangers who I learned about over time through dates lasted months. Maybe that's just my experience, but I seriously think it's better to date someone you don't really know as well. It also gives you a lot more to talk about. Also, with people you just meet it's easier to flirt with and they don't really know you well so they can't tell if you're a loser or not!

The music from the script challenge only works with certain browsers (whether it's Firefox or IE, I forget). Anyway, I say we use Fresh Prince of Bel Air as our melody or music or whatever. It's easy to fit lyrics into and it's well-known (as in if you don't know it you should kill yourself). Either that or the original Pokemon Theme Song, aha. Also, I'm totally up for doing lyrics. I love that kind of stuff. I could also help with graphics (though I would prefer Zeke did that since she's more qualified).

Umm, well... I asked her if she wanted to go out on a date to the movies. She said yes. After that we went on a second date (skating) and the third date we called it official (the third date was at her house where we watched a movie). That's it. Pretty easy if you ask me. I should put her picture up. ;)
Thanks so much for taking me on board!
Puh. You're welcome, I guess. Jokes! Gald to have you with us, Zeke. :whoops:

Genre: Listed as Action but really it's Platformer/Puzzle Release Date: April 9th, 2007 Publisher: Nintendo Developers: Intelligent Systems Plot: "Princess Peach is forced to marry Bowser by Count Bleck; a book called the Dark Prognosticus predicts that the marriage will open a dimensional rift that will engulf the universe. Mario is transported to the town of Flipside, where the Light Prognosticus states that a hero matching Mario's description can close the rift. To accomplish this, Mario must find the eight Pure Hearts." -Wikipedia Description: "The newest chapter of the Paper Mario story isn't just out of this world ... it's out of this dimension. What at first glance appears to be a 2-D sidescroller ripped straight from the pages of the Paper Mario universe soon turns into a 3-D action-adventure that defies all video game logic. Fusing 2-D and 3-D perspectives, not to mention RPG and platformer elements, the game slips back and forth between dimensions. The action sprawls across eight worlds filled with traps, puzzles, bizarre mysteries and items that often draw themselves out of thin air. Oh, and just because Mario's in the title doesn?t mean he's the only star -- players also get to play as Peach and Bowser." -IGN Images: IGN Pictures, GameSpot Pictures Videos: GameSpot Gameplay, IGN Gameplay, GameTrailers Gameplay ------------~------------ Alright! So, who else is excited for this release? It's less than a month away so I'm so excited. The puzzle solving seems really cool, especially with the whole 3D turn idea. Also, if you watch some of the videos you'll notice you have an entire inventory like the other Paper Marios. You have these little faerie things (Pixls, as they are referred to in-game) that follow you around one at a time and have different uses. One of them lets you plant bombs, another lets you grab enemies from afar... lots of fun! Thoughts? I'm as excited for this game as I am Super Mario Galaxy! :/
The main thing I hope to see is lots of different objects to interact with in fun ways (like the sticky trees, which are very cool).
Yeah, I agree. The sticky trees looked like a lot of fun (those were the things Mario was fighting the giant spider with, right?) and they could easily have more things like that in the game and corporate them into multiplayer modes (whether it be online, versus or co-op). IGN.com recently released a video of an audio commentary (by Editor-in-Chief of IGN Wii) of Super Mario Galaxy. Take a look at the video for yourself here (top right video labeled E3 Demo Walkthrough). I know that when I watched the beginning of it with that soft music, I melted inside. :animecry: This video has caused me to place SMG back on the top of my Wii Games list. New gameplay video from GDC 07! Click here! I'm so impressed right now. Between this, the new Phantom Hourglass footage and the new Super Paper Mario gameplay... I'm blown away. This is going to be a great year for hardcore Nintendo fans, haha.
Question to all team members in all teams: What are you[/I'] expecting from the future of OtakuBoards Survivor 4?
Dunno. OBS4 has been so different compared to the other OBS' (which is bad and good). I can't really say. I've got to say, I liked it when we roleplayed. It's what made it cool. It was like an event, but you were someone else in the event. Now we're just ourselves and it's... not as fun. I don't know... :animesigh P.S. Sandy, I don't mean to insult you. I still love OBS. This is all just in comparison with your other OBS'. Okay, so... my movie and music tastes are the same. I like everything. Heck I'll even watch Crossroads with Britney Spears if there's someone there to watch it with me. Any movie can be fun. However the types of movies I like most are Thinkers. The kind of movie where you leave the theatre thinking "Oh, what if soandso did this!" By that I mean films like Stranger Than Fiction and SAW. You're invited to my Secret Club! PM me to join.

Sorry, during this whole debate round I've lost most interest in Survivor 4. It reminds me a lot of the Pokemon round in OBS3. Slow, repetitive and boring. I know Sandy has a good event planned next, since he always does. But still... ugh.
First off, there is nothing wrong with swearing. This cultural taboo on swearing that we have is hilarious - tell me, what's the difference between "Gosh, this darn thing is freaking annoying!" and "God! This damn thing is ****ing driving me crazy!". What's the difference? The words mean the exact same thing. [/COLOR']
Except... they don't. When a Christian prays to God they don't start with "Dear Gosh." While Gosh is used to replace God, it's not a synonym. There are a lot of religious people who are offended by other people who don't even believe in their God using His name in vein. And quite frankly, I can see why. As for the whole swearing thing, I don't have much of an opinion on it. But I do respect a show or movie (especially movies, actually) a lot more if it has less swearing.

It's too bad we're against. For would be so much easier. Anyway, just talk about how it impairs you and how drinking impairs people and look how many deaths that causes per year. I suggest whoever is debating for this one get some real numbers on how many people are killed because of drunk driving a year. If Marijuana were legal you'd have about the same number of people dying, I think.

I might aswell give it a shot. :) To clarify, the e-card/whathaveyou should be about Otaku spirit, right? Do you mean Otaku as in theOtaku chain or just theO?
You must mean claustrophia. ;D Agoraphobia is the fear of open and crowded places.
It's both, actually. Agoraphobia can also be the fear of leaving a safe place, such as your house. Because of this, you feel trapped in your house. My advice to you, cancer, is to tell her to move out with a couple of her friends. That way she isn't completely on her own, there are people there for support so she can learn the ways of the outside world, and her parents can't treat her like a child. 2007DB said it pretty well, I think.

As a guy, I strive to impress girls. Therefor I spend quite some time getting ready for school. I wake up, have a shower (every morning, whether I need it or not), eat, brush my teeth (twice a day), spray on some tag, shave if necessary, put on some fresh clothes and throw on my hat (I have longer hair so I don't bother combing it, I just put my hat on while my hair is wet and it combs my hair for me). If I'm going out with a girl I take a shower about an hour before (giving my hair time to dry), I brush my teeth (and sometimes floss if I've eaten recently), and I chew some gum to make my breath smell nice. This may all sound very feminine but it's not really. I don't plan my outfits, I don't do my hair nicely, and I don't wear uncomfortable clothes for the sake of fashion (though I don't go walking around in ratty jeans and shirts either). I like looking and smelling good. I like being complimented on how I look by girls because they have good taste in fashion (of course). I workout regularly (as of Grade Ten) because I realized how much junk I ate. Also, if I ever had to go swimming around girls, I don't want to be flabby (I've got fast metabolism, so that doesn't really happen anyway, but still). Girls spend a lot of time getting ready for the sake of looking good for strangers. I think it's only fair we spend at least a little time to look good for them in return. :) That's my morning routine. I don't think it would be a whole lot different as a girl.

I always pronounced the "Hyl" as "High." Especially since we know for a fact that Hyrule is pronounced High-rule. I would assume it's the same for Hylian or Hylia.

Cool thread! :) Past: All of that was done with MS Paint (surprised? Didn't think so). At the time I thought they were so good. You can tell that I resized pictures using the tool provided in MSPaint as the pictures are really pixelated. They're also all GIFs for some reason. Present: All my new pieces are less complex then my first ones. Simple is the way to go in my mind, not complex. This probably comes from looking at a lot of Rising Sun and Retribution's work since they are both artists I look up to. For instance, I really enjoy Sandy's logo for OBS4 since it's just so... simple. I don't know... it's artsy, I guess. I could make one of them there fancy banners if I really tried (click here), I think. I'm just way too lazy and I don't like downloading other peoples work to make my own look better (i.e. brushes) though I don't frown upon it, either. When making my own set, I usually end up just cropping a picture and throwing on a border. I've been photoshopping for about a year. I first got Photoshop in January '06... so yeah. A year and a bit. For the past 6 months I haven't improved at all. I don't make graphics enough since I really only like making logos and headers, not banners. That's why N50 was a blessing. 10 original headers? Yes, please. I also don't like anime. And yes, it actually is harder to make a complex banner like Zekes, KWs and Deltas without any images. You found an invitation to my secret club!
It's no secret; you and Sakura are right that I'm going to pit each team against each other in this challenge. I thought I mentioned it in the rules, but I guess I forgot...
The truth has been revealed! We'll be facing other teams!

I suck at debating.

Yeah, along with Retribution. I love the banner that was made for Sandy and I. To whoever made that: I love you. >_>
[strike]though we could always offer White as the sacrificial lamb[/strike'] :shifty:
It's because I'm White isn't it?! *cough* Well, KW has gladly put herself out there so why not? KW I'm sure we all appreciate you doing this. Hopefully the volunteer thing is something positive, not negative. Unless someone else absolutely wants to be the volunteer.
I am a bit[/I'] bitter that I had to share my spot among the Fifty Nifty, but since this is the first time I actually got in it, I shouldn't be complaining. ;P
Keep them lubins coming! ;) Seriously, I think it's cool that I got to share a spot with Sandy. It makes us unique instead of being alone. You can't nominate Yin without Yang! And those graphics are gorgeous. I especially love Otakupedia. Awesome.
The addition of music was a nice touch, although the pieces sounded more like game music, and thus were somewhat distracting.[/COLOR']
Yeah, anything sounds like video game music when in MIDI form. I actually originally planned to use the FF battle theme for the final battle (just because I know you love FF ;)) but that idea was scrapped.

Now, I don't like to brag but both Beth and I picked up the slack. During those last two hours where Mike gave up, KW was gone and Mary was silent, Beth and I spent a lot of time talking to each other through PMs. We finished it together (she did the final writing, though). Either way it was a collaboration of everyone's effort that made the script so great. You guys rock and we are still in the lead! :D
Sorry but it's just not as simple as it sounds. It's obvious that Mike and I didn't purposely not want to get this done on time or whatever. It was a fault on all of our parts because we took too long to make decisions before starting. And Mike and I both have outside lives. I wish Mike would post what he's done so it can be editted and worked off. Stephen, can/have you inserted the HTML stuff in the other sections? If you start with them then at least we'll have some of it. Or post the code here so we can put it in as we're writing it. I don't know, what time is it there for you anyway? Noon? It's 3 something here so...
Right now it's 1 in the morning. I have started on the HTML but it's hard without the whole thing together.
