Sure, he still can't play Zelda because it requires two hands...but still, he'll be able to actually play various Wii games with us, where he couldn't before. So I thought that was nice.
The last game my dad even tried with my brother and I before Wii Sports was some baseball game for the Super NES. Now he's bootin' up the Wii when nobody is even home and goes bowling for an hour or two by himself. I was shocked and overjoyed. Also, my friend has also decided that he's going to buy himself a Wiimote to keep at my house just so we can play simultaneously. He doesn't even own a Wii!
Natural, sure, but does it actually feel better[/i'] than an analog stick? That's what the Wii is about, so I'd expect it to be able to hold up.
I tried playing Halo 2 the other day after Zelda. I couldn't do it. It just wasn't as fun when it came down to aiming.

I don't really get what you mean. You mean like colouring only a certain part of an image a totally different colour but leaving the rest the same? If so just use the wand tool, edit the tolerance to your liking and change the Hue/Saturation of the selected area. *shrug* You could also use the magnetic lasso.
When you got yours did you cradle it for about five minutes and then rub it up against your face repeatedly? Not that I did that or anything.
I know I certainly did.

I've decided I would like to create a tutorial on how to make patterns. Particularly the popular diagonal effect. I would also like to request a tutorial. And this may be a little specific but I would love to know how to make those lovely backgrounds jigglyness does oh-so-well.

Though every once in a while he comes up with brilliant ideas that nobody listens to and then another character usually later comes up with the same idea, uses it and works. Anything else: Bosco is still just a cub, and runs around everywhere on his four legs. When he stops and isn't doing anything, he stands on his two legs and waddles around.

Alright, I feel like I should post something here, but there is no way I'm reading x number of posts first. So here are my thoughts. If I became Event Master, I would be a progressive Event Master. The Events are for the community so I really would just love the opportunity to work with the community directly in whatever thread is created. That is all.
Agreed. We always have conventional holiday banners. That weird-looking dog would be infinitely more entertaining than some whiz-bang technically impressive banner. Aaryanna, I love how the dog is floating there in the second banner. It's so creepy! This holiday season, let Christmas go to the dogs! Or to the black people! But definitely one of them!
If that dog makes its way to the top of the forum, I will disappear from the face of OtakuBoards for whatever amount of time it is there. It should obviously be a cat.
I'm not going to stick something that lasts two months and creates 6 total tutorials, for example. If it's going to be stickied, the tutorials need to be of good quality and the index should be comprehensive. Until I feel that's the case, the thread will remain as-is. Does that seem fair? I'm not trying to play Mr. Heavy-Handed Mod or anything.
PAR-TY POO-PER The sad thing is, that's the second time I've called you that on OB. :bdance:

It's a bit different for text on Photoshop numbers. I believe you're able to highlight the text and right click stroke but I'm not sure. My school has Photoshop 7 so when I go there on Monday I'll tell you. You could, of course, just rasterize the text layer (Easiest way of doing that is selecting the text layer and try to brush it. Click yes when it asks if you'd like to rasterize) and apply a border with the Magnetic Tool (right click the Rectangular Marquee and select magnetic). When you click and drag around the text, it'll snap to the first colour and continue around. Once you have a full shape, do it the way I first mentioned (right click inside and hit stroke).
I will consider sticking it if the program turns out to be a successful one. I'm willing to support something that proves itself to be long-lasting and high quality as opposed to a sporadic fad (Worm, anyone? ;)).
Well this is different in the way that the tutorials will always be there for members to come. It's not fair to future artists if the tutorial is before their time and they have no index to find help. :nope:

Alright, my tutorial is up. And it was fun. I'll do animated images if nobody else will. I also motion for this to be stickied. :)

Photoshop CS2 Welcome to my first tutorial! This would be how to make borders. What I'm going to do to teach you how to make a border is I'll take you through the steps I used to make that logo up there. :bdance: So, you will learn two things reading this tutorial.
Making a nice border. Putting a border on text.
Let's get started! First you'll want to select the Rectangular Marquee Tool seen below. Next, before you just left click and drag the box, you'll want to make a new layer. Since it's a border, you'll want it to be above everything else (otherwise it wouldn't be much a border). Once you have your top layer selected, go ahead and left click on your image, dragging the rectangular box to your preferred border width and height. In my case, I put a border around the whole image. Once you let go, you have a two options. You can edit the size of the rectangle by right-clicking it and selecting Transform Selection (this also allows you to turn the rectangle and such) and you can add the border. So, let's right click the rectangle and select Stroke. A window similar to the one below will pop up. The text box at the top determines how wide your border will be. It is always pixels so you don't have to worry about adding px to the end every time you put a new number in. I did 4 pixels. The box below that is the colour of the border. Simple stuff. I chose black. The "Location" box is the placing of the border. If you choose Inside, the border will start on the dotted line of your rectangle and stretch its way inward the amount of pixels you punched in. Outside does just the opposite and center is just half of the border on the outside of the rectangle and half on the inside. :) Once you're done, hit OK and the border will be applied. Sweet, huh? Now for text! First you need to type in your text. Do this by... nevermind. If you don't know how to put text in you don't deserve to be using photoshop. (HINT: It's the button that has a giant T) So, once you have your text applied (note: my text is white so the border stands out more), right click the text layer and hit blending options. See below. Once you do that, a window similar to the one below will pop up. Click the box that says "Stroke" at the bottom. This is where you edit the border around your text. The color is at the bottom there right below the fill type (Pattern, Normal or Gradient). The pixel width is at the top and the position is right below that. There's also an opacity section where you can change how transparent the border is. Personally, I love making nice thick borders and having them at 50% opacity. However for this logo I have chosen 3 px, inside, 100% Opacity, and a black colour. When you're done, click OK and the border will be applied to that layer (this not only works for text, but anything in a layer aswell in case you are wondering). And we're done! Let's see the finished product... Lookin' snazzy.

It seems as though the majority of you have not been convinced enough to vote Boo guilty. We will now go onto the next accusation from Sakura who will be accusing Tekkaman. Please do not post until Sakura has posted. Sakura, please make your accusation post now.* *Once Sakura does this, please talk all you want in the underground about what you think but only post in the town if it relates directly to Tekkaman being Innocent or Guilty. I will let this go on for three days before Tekkaman makes his defense post. Tekkaman you may not post until I tell you it is okay. When Tekkaman's defensive post is up, I will give a one day period to take in votes. Since everyone was a little bit late last time during voting, I'm putting this time restriction on. If you think Tekkaman is guilty, you will PM me saying so. If you think he is innocent you don't have to PM me.

Well, I did my best. I've never really done a transparent banner before but I think it turned out alright. Here's a centered one. Not transparent. And here's an avatar to match (sort of). Tell me what you don't like and I'll (probably) fix it for you.

Okie, next round will be totally different. But we still need to get past this one to continue. I've learned from my mistakes. :p

Ohio Mother Accused of Microwaving her Baby to Death

Beautiful, Gavin. :toothy: You pieced all of our ideas together perfectly using punchlines as glue. It's got that classic DW-randomness touch and it works. I was a little bit worried about the whole cat and dog thing at first but it works well. I'm glad we decided not to make it an OB parody. That would piss people off! :)

What's Happened So Far... First, Mafia started and everyone anxiously awaited the night to end so they could all discuss the murder. The Mafia killed their victim, the Detective made his/her guess and the Priest blessed someone. Everyone awoke to find Delta dead. Lot's of accusations went down in the Underground thread. The first of which was Tekkaman accusing Boo with some seemingly ridiculous points backing up his idea. This sparked a huge conversation between users and when it came time for the first official accusation in the town, Tekkaman struck out at Boo. There was a little hostility between the two, but it was resolved for the sake of the Event. We are currently in the voting part of The Court stage. I'm still waiting for PMs from certain members but once that is done we can continue. :)

Heehee, question time. 1: What bothered you so much about their criticism towards you and your event? I wasn't bothered by any of the criticism at all. It was all true. Mafia isn't as much as a community event as it could be and I've slowly been trying to fix that (which is hard to do when the event has already started!). :o 2: What did you learn in your research that surprised you the most? How did learning about them effect your opinion of this member? I found out a lot of interesting facts about Charles while interviewing him, hehe. I think the one thing that sticks out the most is that he originally came to OtakuBoards to spam up the place but came to fall in love with the place. ;) I've always held the same opinion about Charles. I talk to him frequently (not quite daily, but enough to know the guy) and I enjoy our conversations. He remains to be one of the only members on OB that I talk to about video games just because of his vast knowledge in the field. 3: Do you feel their criticism is more justified after learning more about their experience on the boards? Please elaborate. No, not really. It really couldn't have been more justified than it already was. It was all entirely true and I took it in as well as I could. I do believe Charles, of all people, deserves to throw in criticism the most just because he was once in this position, creating an event for the community to enjoy. He's also got deep history here so he knows more about the community than I do. 4: If any, what steps have you made to address member criticism towards your event? I've really tried my hardest to involve more people in Mafia. Currently we are in a voting stage and I'm letting two outsiders to vote whether or not they think Boo is guilty (I currently have one vote from an outsider so there is still a spot left). I'm also going to be letting more outsiders take part in a much deeper role later on. :whoops: 5: Why is member feedback so important to Community Events? Member feedback is important so that we, the event masters, can make our events better. They are, after all, for the community. If the majority of the community doesn't like an event and the event master fails to respond to any feedback, the event will inevitably fall because of lack of participation. Hmm. For some reason my answers are a lot shorter this time around. *shrug*
I would also have suggested tweaking and streamlining the rules to maximize the amount of visible[/i'] discussion--private message conspiracies might be fun enough for participants, but for observers, it's not terribly interesting if it can't be seen.
Yeah, I thought that too... I just can't really think of anything. If you have any suggestions feel free to PM me because that'd be great.

Otakupedia Entries/Suggestions/Discussion thread
Ellerby replied to Charles's topic in General Discussion
Alright, here's my little add-on to what Japan said.
May, 2001. A high school student looking Dragon Ball Z pictures for a school project stumbles across OtakuBoards. He decides to join to spam, going under the most random name he could think of; The Great White Frying Pan Man. This, of course, is the story of Charles. After a while, Charles quickly grew attached to OtakuBoards and decided that, when the forum went down to upgrade to v3, Charles changed his name to Crazy White Boy as the character limit wouldn?t allow TGWFPM anymore. In March of 2003, Crazy White Boy became Site Administrator and changed his screen name to Charles. He was Site Administrator up until early 2005, when he retired due to inactivity. However, May 21st, 2006, he was re-invited to join the staff as Moderator of Play It and accepted. He later became CATegory Moderator and remains in that position right now. Charles has given so much to OtakuBoards. Among the plenty of things Charles has done for OB, one thing that sticks out a lot is Project Gamer, arguably one of the best RPs OtakuBoards has ever seen. PG was based on video games, not anime. Each person played a video game character in a very large world made up by the members. There was a website for the RP (which still exists) that had a store, character biography's, and the like just proving its greatness. Probably the key thing that people will remember Charles by is his humor and his pictures which both tie together a lot. Every once in a while, Charles will reply to someone with not words but a picture. Sometimes the picture has words, but whether it does or not, it?s always hilarious. Many people have tried to copy this style of humor from Charles, but in the end they usually fail. Charles remains to be one of the most well-known OtakuBoards members out there and will always have a large place in OB history.
-
Alright, now you're just getting on my nerves. :) Seriously, there's no reason why you guys have to make everyone else read your argument so please take it to PMs. Thank you~
