On the Wii however the minigame ideas are endless. This could be the game to save the series from its repitive nature. I hope they go all out for this one. That way we wont see a Mario Party 9,10,11,12 with the same game mechanics.
I don't think we'll even see Mario Party 9 (let alone 10-12) for a while after 8 since the whole Connect24 thing may allow for updates and all that. And that's really all new Mario Party games are when they're on the same console as before. Expansions.

Mario Party 8 Yeah, I don't think anyone could deny the inevitable sequel to the Mario Party games. This time around, of course, it'll be on the Wii. I've dug around the net for about an hour finding videos and such for you guys so I could make this thread meaningful. Obviously the graphics look much better than the previous games, but I really didn't expect them to be this good. That's a fairly small screen shot but you can tell the graphics look a lot nicer. Really, Mario Party is a perfect game for the Wii. It's a party game and that's what the Wii is all about. There's a good article on Mario Party 8 at IGN here that talks about that. Because of the Wiimote, you'll be getting a whole butt load of original mini-games that Nintendo could never dream of before. Kind of like an advanced Wario Ware. Now IGN has two videos of some sample mini-games on their site but I found that GameTrailers.com had better and more videos of the mini-games. Click here to see those. One of the videos shows the character selection screen (whether this is just the demo selection screen or the real one I'm not sure) and it's interesting to note two "?" panels. Tis good news. :) To be honest I'm rather excited. None of my friends really like Mario Party but even my friend (who I force to play them when they come out) admitted it'll be fun with the Wii. Comments?

The gameplay looks more or less a lot like Melee (which is a good thing). I've got to admit this whole crawling while ducked technique looks prety spiffy (seen used by Snake and Pikachu). I'm kind of diappointed otherwise, though. The stages certainly aren't anything fabulous (the shyguy race track basically just looks like the F-Zero level) and the character design for Mario still looks like ****. Seriously, he somehow seems shorter and his jeans are like.. baggy. It's weird. But they seem to have kept true to the new characters older days. Wario's moves made me laugh as I remember similar ones in Wario Land (especially the headbutt, haha), Snake's moves seemed funny in a Smash Bros. enviornment (the crawling and then RPG was just priceless) and Icarus and Metaknights hack and slash looked awesome. So, in all I'm still extremely excited for this title. I just hope they get some better levels and upgrade Mario's look.

Why I want to become an Event Master: For the longest time I wanted to be an Event Master (this is before I became the Moderator of Play It). I've just always been some sort of event/game planner in everything I do and I love doing it. Being an Event Master is just the ultimate occupation for a guy like myself. Why Community Events are important: Community Events are just extremely entertaining for new and old members. They really bring everyone together in a good way and it's a nice break from the regular OB. Why I wouldn?t suck at the job: I'm very creative. I come up with games and the sorts all the time with different things I'm involved in (church, camp, etc). I've got past experience with online events (even if it was on an online computer game, Lineage II) and everyone always enjoys the events or games I come up with. I'm also very friendly. You can't have an Event Master that freaks out about every little thing that goes wrong, and that wouldn't happen with me seeing as my kind personality is an attribute I take pride in. My favorite memory of OB: I've just got to admit that participating in OtakuBoards Survivor: Game On! is my definitely favorite memory (kudos to my rival here, Sandy). Not only because it was just so much fun but also because it was fun 'till the end, making it stand out amongst other memories. My Pitch: Based on the popular real life game "Mafia." This event will involve 13 members, not including myself or Shy. Through the Private Messaging system on OtakuBoards, I will send each of the 13 members a "card." There are four cards in total: One Ace (the Detective), one King (the Priest), two Jokers (the Mafia) and cards 2 through 10 (the townsfolk). The aim of the game is, if you are not the Mafia, to get rid of the Mafia. If you are the Mafia, however, the aim of the game is to kill off everyone in the town. To do this, the game will go through a one week process involving a few steps. Day 1 and 2: The entire town "goes to sleep" and the Priest wakes up PMing me with the name of someone they would like to "bless." If this person was the person elected by the Mafia then they do not die. The Priest goes to sleep and the Mafia wake up to PM me with the name of someone they would like to kill. This person will die when the town wakes up. The Mafia go to sleep. The Detective wakes up and PMs me with who they think the Mafia is. If they are right, I will tell them they so. Detective goes to sleep. Town wakes up to find so-and-so dead (unless they were blessed that night). Day 2 - 4: The most interesting part of the game. This is the time period in which the town has to "discuss" who they think is the mafia. Only the Mafia, the Priest and the Detective can lie. The townsfolk may not lie. Once the time limit is up, the next step begins. Day 4 - 6: Accusations. Three members participating in the game will post one member they think is the Mafia and a reason why. Once three accusations have been made, everyone has 2 days to add onto the accusations and after that... Day 6 and 7: Defense. The three members that were accused will get one post to defend themselves, responding to the accusations. Once all three defense posts have been made, everyone will PM me with who they vote for and the most popular person is killed off. After this, everyone goes back to sleep and we go back to step 1. The game ends when either the Mafia kills off all but 3 people (or 1, depending on the amount of Mafia left) or when both Mafia have been hung at trial. The event will only take place in one thread but I may make another underground type thread for questions and the like. The nice thing about Mafia is almost anyone can play it and it's just incredibly easy to pick up on. The game still involves a lot of strategy, though. The Mafia must wield the ability to lie correctly or else they may end up screwing themselves over. If the Detective does find out who the Mafia is, he/she's still got to convince other townsfolk that he knows to get rid of them. But you've got to be careful because you might accidentally be trying to convince another Mafia person. :)
And White, your banners are basically identical with Eclipse's except for the colors, so you didn't bring anything new to the table.
How is it "basically identical"? The only thing the same is the picture (which YOU provided) and the font/text placing (Which is obviously going to be in the middle anyway). And you also recommended the font! -
"Now!" shouted Jonas at his Pokemon. Swinub reacted by shooting a beam of snow at the Onix's eyes. The attack missed, and Brock laughed. "Nice try!" he chuckled. But all too soon as it would seem because a few seconds after the snow a splatter of mud flew at the Onix's eyes. Swinub's Mud Slap. The mud hit right on and Onix wiped his eyes with his tail, letting go of the almost knocked out Pidgey. Demetri grinded his teeth and cheered on his bird Pokemon. Pidgey slowly got to its feet and flew back into the air. Without saying a word, Swinub once again fired off powdered snow, this time hitting. Onix's entire face froze up and it screeched in pain as it hit the ground, wiggling to get the ice off. Before it could do so, Pidgey and Swinub both tackled the ice at the same time, breaking it off. When Onix opened its cold eyes again Pidgey blasted a round of sand in its mouth. Finally Onix threw itself into the air and let out an ear-shattering screech. Pidgey fell to the ground and Swinub rolled onto its back, wiggling its feet. The Onix then spit out all the sand onto Pidgey, covering it completely in wet sand. Pidgey cooed softly, trying to let Demetri know that it had given up but Demetri refused to listen. Swinub got onto its feet and pushed Pidgey out the sand pile. Pidgey thanked the pig and flew back into the air, shaking the remaining spit and sand off. "That's right!" Demetri shouted, thankful that Pidgey still had some fight left. He glanced at the giant rock worm which remained still. "Umm.." Then, Onix's body parts detatched and he fell on the battlefield to be returned by an angered Brock.

Jonas readied himself for the fight, Swinub wiggling around a bit to stretch. The Diglett only stood still, just shouting "Diglett!" every few seconds. Finally, the first attack was launched. A beam of chilled snow shot quickly at the brown worm. But when it hit, the Diglett remained unphazed and unfrosted. "What the..?" Jonas muttered. The Diglett twirled in a circle as a taunt and Swinub growled in response. "Don't you know anything, handsome?" the girl laughed. "Diglett are the fastest diggers around! This cutie just burrowed underground, let the snow pass and came back up without you noticing!" "Diglett!" the worm cheered. Jonas grinded his teeth. "Swinub," he spoke quietly. "Chill Butt." Swinub nodded to show it understood what Jonas wanted. "Bring it!" yelled the girl. Swinub inflated himself once more and shot a beam of snow at the Diglett, but when Diglett popped its little head back up it was shocked to see a Swinub charging full throttle towards it with it's teeth bared. It all happened too fast for Diglett to react and it was hit with tackle. "Keep going!" shreiked Jonas, wanting Swinub to keep pummeling the Diglett until it fainted so it wouldn't get a chance to burrow. Swinub obeyed and quickly shot another Powdered Snow at the enemy, freezing it instantly. He then broke the ice with another tackle, finishing off the foe. "Diglett!" the redhead yelped, returning her Pokemon to its temporary home.

Figures the one time I post in Anime Lounge it's still about Video Games. Anyway... About Shadow of Colossus: I don't think a movie would work. A movie is just too short to fit in all those cool bosses. An anime, however, might get a good season out of it. Let's say one episode to start us off, another to get to and start the first boss and from then on 3 episodes per boss (maybe 4 depending on the boss). Then there are all those
wacky dreams and flashbacks
that can be stretched out into full episodes. You could get a full season out of that game. Final Fantasy (any of them, really), God of War, Pikmin, and Fable would all make great anime's. I definitely agree with those but.. Wario World? Kingdom Hearts? No. Just because a game is popular and good doesn't mean it can make a good show (as Super Mario and Legend of Zelda has proved to us more than once). I also think Golden Sun would make an amazing anime. The compelling storyline, deep characters, fantasy-like magic and long script all make it a great idea to turn it into an anime. Especially since the characters are already drawn in an anime style. It would also take some stress off some of the fanboy/girl's out there still hoping for a Golden Sun 3. Yeah, a new Pokemon anime would be nice aswell. I'm rather sick of Ash/Pikachu/Team Rocket and the predictable episodes.

Jonas glanced at the fallen dinosaur who was now in Demetri's arms. He could tell that deep down Demetri was starting to understand why people got so attached to their Pokemon. Quickly Jonas ordered Swinub to attack. "Swinub! Now!" he commanded. Without even getting off it's trainers head, Swinub let out a blast of snow at the enemy. This attack had such an impact that Swinub fell off of Jonas. Beedrill shook off the snow and flew down infront of Jonas' legs to see if Swinub was finished off. But unfortunately for Beedrill, Swinub was just fine. Jonas spread his legs apart and Swinub tackled Beedrill right out of the air. Beedrill reacted almost immediately and attempted to fly away, only to find its wings frozen over. It seems as Swinub had blasted some snow on its wings during the take down. This left the bee opponent on its legs only, giving Swinub an advantage. Once again Swinub dove at the enemy head first. This obviously was predicted by the Beedrill, though and it stepped to the side, jabbing the furry mammal with it's stinger. Poison sting. "Swinub!" Jonas yelled in fear. But Swinub got back up anyway and let out one final blast of snow, sending the Beedrill into a nearby tree. Swinub and Jonas cheered at their victory. But too soon. Falling out of the tree, a yellow Pokemon hit the ground hard. But it wasn't Beedrill. It was a Pikachu. And it was dead. A victim of the swarm of Beedrill's, no doubt. "Oh my god..." stuttered Jonas, falling to his knees. The usually friendly looking Pokemon was obviously long gone. Only a few seconds after the Pikachu had fallen, another one dropped out of the tree. Still alive. Demetri and Jonas watched in horror as the living Pikachu mourned the death of its lover. It lay ontop of the deceased female and just as it was about to get up, it stopped moving. For almost an hour, Jonas and Demetri sat and watched. Two Pokemon. Dead. And Jonas blamed himself for it. He's the one who scared the Beedrill in swarming the area. It wasn't natural and the caused the death of two Pikachu. Finally, Demetri placed his hand on Jonas' shoulder and nodded his head. "Let's go." he whispered. Jonas shook his head and ran at the bodies. When he touched them, he swore they evaporated into a thousand little sparkles and floated away. Maybe this was just Jonas' imagination, but after he wiped his eyes a bit to make sure it was real, the bodies were definitely gone. Sparkles or no sparkles. Looking up at the sky, Jonas noticed something on a tree branch in the tree the Pikachu had fallen out of. An yellow and black egg. He reached up with his hand and grabbed it. He stared at it blankly for a bit and finally placed it in his side pack for safe keeping. "Now," he said, wiping a tear. "We can go."

"Hey," Jonas said. "In case you're wondering why I know absolutely nothing about Kanto... it's because I live in Shin'ou." Demetri gave Jonas a weird look but continued walking. "How is it there?" he asked. "Oh, it's beautiful. It's the only region in the world that has snow accesible to non-trainers and I frequently visit the north to take pictures of Yukinooh and the like." Jonas pulled out a map and showed Demetri the place where he takes the pictures of Yukinooh. "Looks great. We'll have to go someday." Demetri smirked. Jonas was shocked. "You mean--?" "Yeah," Demetri said. "I guess we're travel companions. You're not as bad as I thought and we have a lot to teach eachother." Demetri became serious for a second, though. "But we also have to promise to be rivals. The whole way." he said. Jonas nodded. "Of course. Rivals but friends. I like it!" Jonas clapped excitedly and raced ahead, seeing a sign. He read it aloud to Demetri.
TRAINERS! The following area is Viridian Forest which leads to Viridian City. Please be aware of the countless wild Pokemon and winding maze-like structure of the forest. If night falls and you are still in the forest, please make shelter AWAY from any trees. Thank you.
Just as Jonas finished reading, Demetri yelped in surprise. The photographer looked back in surprise to find a Caterpie latched onto Demetri's head. Without thinking, Jonas took Swinub off his head and placed him on the ground. "Swinub!" he yelled. "Tackle!" And Swinub complied. But at the same time the pig charged, Caterpie did aswell. Their heads collided and both Pokemon fell to the ground, Caterpie the first to get up. Just as Swinub was turning over, the green offender shot a stream of sticky web-like thread at Swinub, slowing it's speed. Caterpie went in for another tackle and succeeded this time. Swinub flew a few feet back and hit Jonas' leg. Swinub wiggled back onto its feet and glared angrily at the worm rival. He opened his mouth and shot a blast of powdered snow at the foe, KO'ing it instantly. Demetri knelt down beside and gave it a quick look. "Yeah, he's fainted." he stated. Jonas threw his arms in the air and Swinub did the same, dancing in a circle snorting. "Let's go." said Jonas, now extremely happy. He sprayed some Potion on Swinub and picked his pig Pokemon up. "Aren't you going to capture Caterpie?" Demetri asked, a little surprised. "Nah, let's leave him be."
Its going to be closed for a bit. And yes, I know who its going to be. And no, it is not Giovanni or Gary / Blue.
ZOMG, it's gonna be MATT. :O :O :O Anyway, I've got a question aswell now (heehee, lots of questions!). [strike]Will there be Johto/Hoenn/Shin'ou Pokemon in Kanto?[/strike] Already answered. You caught a Mukkuru. Also, can we sort of "make up" where some Pokemon can be found? I don't mean like "Hmm, I feel like having a Nidoking. But I'm on Route 2! Oh well! *catches Nidoking*" but places that make sense. Like Cerulean Cave for example doesn't have Staryu's. I was wondering if I wanted one before a certain area, could I find one there?

As Jonas trotted behind the now happy Demetri, he looked worriedly at his Swinub in the Pokeball. Normally he would have had it out of the ball, but since it was injured he thought it best to keep it inside. "Hurry up!" said Demetri, looking back on Jonas who was now a few feet back. They were now out of Pallet Town and on Route 1, heading towards Viridian City. Jonas glanced at him, smiled and caught up. They walked silently for a little bit. "So..." Jonas said. "You like.. Pokemon?" "I like battles." "...that's cool." Jonas said, trying to stop himself from lecturing Demetri once again. He couldn't help himself. "But you should really pay more attention to your Pokemon. If you're not careful they'll grow defiant and just won't fight for you anymore. That would mean no more battles for Demetri!" he chuckled. Demetri was quiet for a few seconds. "Well, you'll just have to teach me how to care for a Pokemon then." he replied sarcastically. Jonas, thinking that Demetri was serious agreed. "Deal! And you can teach me how to battle." he smiled. Demetri stopped and took a good look at Jonas, then shook his outstretched hand, half of his mind telling him not to. "I'm going to regret this, I think." Demetri said jokingly. And they both laughed. "Now, we should really get that Swinub to a Centre."
-
"You know," started Jonas. "...you should really treat your Pokemon better. You're going to end up just like the people that Oak was talking about earlier if you're not careful." Demetri gave Jonas a blank stare and then whipped out his Pokeball and expanded it threateningly. "You want to have a practice fight, then? We'll see if treating your Pokemon really makes a difference where it counts." he glared. Jonas replied with a simple wave of his hair and pointed at his opponent. "Swinub! Get ready to fight." he yelled. The fuzzy pig repsonded by facing Demetri and grunting. Demetri released Larvitar, who stretched a little before the fight. Jonas noticed this and took a picture. A Pokemon readying for a fight was something he had never seen before. Immediately both Pokemon engaged in a tight stare down. Suddenly, Swinub broke the silence with a tackle, knowing that Jonas wouldn't know what attacks to call out. Larvitar responded simply by dodging the attack. "Bite it!" yelped the excited Demetri. Larvitar responded so quickly, Swinub had no time to react. A whimper and a cry coming out of Swinub startled Jonas so much that he dropped his camera (which he was using to take a picture of the battle instead of yelling out commands). "Stop it." said Demetri. "This is dumb, you aren't even trying!" Jonas didn't respond with words but instead looked at his already hurt Pokemon. It looked at him melodramatically, with a large wound on its back. Demetri returned Larvitar. "Don't you even know how to fight?" asked Demetri, almost offended that Jonas didn't. "Well..." stuttered Jonas. "N-not really."

Whoo! I saw it! I'm not going to say a whole lot since I'm assuming nobody has really seen it yet. Honestly, though? I like this one the most of all three. It really was the perfect finale to a trilogy (I'm assuming it's a trilogy, anyway). If you were worried about it not living up to the first and second one, it definitely does.
I have a question about Pokemon moves. Are our Pokemon restricted to moves they can learn in the games, or can they learn other moves? I realize that they wouldn't be able to learn any moves (for example, water-types wouldn't learn fire-type moves), but what about moves that ake sense for the Pokemon. For example, in the games Absol cannot learn Earthquake, but since Absol is the Disaster Pokemon, it makes sense that Absol should be able to learn Earthquake. So, are we resticted to the games' movesets, or not?
In my opinion, I think that's a good idea. It makes sense, at least. But you'd have to be really careful. I guess Absol using Earthquake makes sense in the way that he's the Disaster Pokemon, but how we he start one? Magic? And you'd have to be very strict on the type moves aswell. Just because one Pokemon is Ground doesnt mean he can learn all the Ground moves. For instance, Manmuu is an Ice/Ground type Pokemon but he isn't going to be running around using Bonemerang. Something to think about. :)

*ka-shink, ka-shink* Jonas winded is camera, readying the zoom to the perfect level. He switched the fstop so that if the Pokémon he was about to take a picture of moved, the picture wouldn't have any blur. Opening his side pack, Jonas pulled out a travel-sized tripod for his camera and connected the two, steadying his tripod in the perfect position. The subject of the picture was a brown cat Pokémon named Eevee. It had hair around the neck that looked like a mane, intriguing Jonas. Since he was a little way back (giving the Pokémon some room) nobody thought he was taking a picture of it. That's why Jonas wasn't surprised when a lady that seemed about 20 just waltzed by and sat right infront of the camera to observe the Pokémon. He sighed and put the camera away, not bothering to say anything. That's what you get for trying to take a picture in a crowded area. He thought to himself. Once everything was put away, he decided to look for a Pokémon. That's when something bumped into his foot, obviously not watching where it was going. Jonas looked behind him and knelt down in front of the clumsy Pokémon, Swinub. It was around 1'4" and was just covered in brown fur, save for it's wet pink nose. Jonas picked the little guy up. "Aww, well aren't you just the cutest thing ever!" he said in a high-pitched voice. He took a Pokéball off his belt, expanded it and tapped the pig on the nose.

"EXTRA! EXTRA!" yelled a young boy with rather torn clothes. Jonas walked up to him, kneeling down to the boys height. "Would you like to buy a paper, sir? The headline is especially fascinating today!" Jonas smiled and gave the boy a dollar in exchange for the paper. "I've known you for a few months, Julian. No need to be so formal, haha." Jonas said, standing up. He waved goodbye and unfolded the newspaper.
Oak Opens Door to New Trainers Recently the highly regarded Pokémon Proffessor, Samuel Oak has started sending out letters to extremely specific people all over the Pokémon regions asking them to join him in his lab to talk about what could only be giving out new Pokémon... Read More, PG.23
Jonas' jaw dropped and he quickly tucked the papers under is arm, going from a walk to a run. He raced home as fast as he could, knowing that the mail came just an hour ago. For almost his whole life, Jonas had taken pictures of Pokémon in their natural habitats. Of course, after a while he became quite good at taking pictures and eventually got an extremely good camera to take photos with. This was about a year ago. Not even six months after that, one of Jonas' friends suggested he send the pictures to an expierienced Pokémon Prof. Jonas agreed since if the Professor liked the pictures, he may be able to get a job there. Naturally, he sent his pictures to Oak. And so, Jonas dashed home as fast as a Tauros to see if Oak had sent him a letter. Surely if he'll send people mail to invite them to get a Pokémon he'd send one boy a letter inviting him to come work for him! thought Jonas. He stopped abruptly at his mailbox and reached inside. Nothing. Perhaps his little brother was home from school? He walked inside and sure enough his brother sat at the kitchen table with a pile of mail. "Hey, Jonas," he said. "Some guy named Oak sent you a letter. Something about Pokémon?" Jonas' brother took no interest in Pokémon (which was extremely rare since most careers revolved around Pokémon in some way). If he was asked what Oak, Elm, Ivy, Birch and Rowan all had in common, he would say they're all plants. "Does he want me to come work for him?!" Jonas yelped excitedly. "Nope." ...huh? Jonas mozied over to the table and picked up the opened envelope, taking out the letter. A few minutes later he was running upstairs to pack his bags. He was to be a Pokémon trainer!

Well, technically we wouldn't have to do it in order (if Doublehex said so, at least). In the actual game you have to do it in order, but that's only because they need some way of controlling where you are and when so you can't go to some powerful place with just a level 5. However, in the anime it's quite the opposite. There are times when they've introduced people that only had certain badges in no specific order. It's also good to note that in Ruby/Sapphire, Norman isn't the first gym leader you fight but he is in the anime for Ash (I think, :p). But that doesn't mean anything for this, hehe.

The plot twists at the end of each movie is what makes it all worth while for me, not that the entire movie isn't short of amazing either. Dina Meyer (Dizzy from Starship Troopers) is making an appearance once again (am I the only one who even noticed she was in the first and second one?) and so is Tobin Bell and Shawnee Smith. I honestly cannot wait. Five days is too long! My excitement from SAW III has kind of passed as of late because of the Wii and Vanguard coming up but now that it's near halloween, and the premier is only 5 days away I once again am wiggling in my bed with anticipation. Trivia: Did you know that Saw I and II were directed by two different people? Saw III was directed by the same person who directed number 2.

Name: Jonas Trevellion Age: 16 Physical Description: Jonas stands at 5'9" with a weight of about 130lbs. He's very agile and fairly muscular. When it comes to his light blonde hair and his bright blue eyes, you can just tell that he was born a care free person. Personality: Jonas is an extremely kind young man. He is always willing to lend a hand when needed and is constantly signing himself up for volunteer work. But just because Jonas does all this nice stuff doesn't make him perfect. He can get extremely jelous and is quick to get angry at someone. Pokemon: Swinub
Personally, I'm shocked that homework is being used as a scapegoat here. I mean, who actually does their homework? Who?! Noone, that's who. Blame schoolwork all you want, but we all know it's just because you're a bunch of slackers.[/color']
Hence why I'm still active. XD

I also think this has some relation to the teenage posters on OB going into their senior years. sakurasuka, myself, Sakura, Kitty, Retribution, and The Boss for example all used to be frequent posters this time last year but we've all traversed into the senior year and have found the homework load is fairly heavier. Older members, like DW and Pumpkin (I believe), are going into their first year of College/University so the same goes for them.

lol @ John&RaR. Alright, my friend that works at EBGames just told me yesterday that ontop of the 15 Wii's they allowed to be pre-ordered there will be 35 others available on launch day for those who didn't pre-order. So, I should be okay.
