1. It's been a while since I've started a thread, so I've decided to start a new topic kind of in celebration of the return of Trigun to the CN schedule  So what do you think is the depth of the relationship between Legato and Knives? I wanted to ask this a while back but I kept forgetting to ask.
2. :love2: :wigout: Thanks for the info, Terra -^.^- Now I wonder if they'll ever bring Cowboy Bebop back. . . :tasty: -^.^-
3. Hmmm, hasn't this thread been done before? I mean, I'm sure I posted in one like this at one time or another. . .maybe I'm just suffering from mindlessness. . .:tasty: As for me, I agree with the people who posted that the
Wolfwood and Legato scenes in Trigun were among some of the best-written anime deaths, :bawl: though both should have stayed alive IMHO they were such well-written characters :bawl: and I would give an honorary mention to Wen and Rocco in their respective episodes of Bebop ("Sympathy for the devil" and "Waltz For Venus")
I am also completely surprised that nobody mentioned the scene in Bebop where
Gren died
Although I wasn't really a big Gren fan (I thought that for the most part he was fanservice to the yaoi fans) that scene was really touching, especially the part where
he decided to be "buried" in space so he would always be on the way. . .
:bawl:
4. Um, I hate to tell you lest I be warned for spam, but for the sake of accuracy: while they may have aired Bebop 100 times over (I don't know much about that one), I do know that they only aired Trigun in its entirety only once. On the second run, they stopped at episode 21 (which makes me *really* annoyed because I was taping it on the second run so I missed getting episodes 22, 23, and 24 on tape-I was smart enough to tape 25 and 26 on the first run) ^sigh^ :flaming:
5. That sure was an overreaction if I've ever seen one, and the thing is, I'd bet that this person wouldn't react the same way to a Hollywood movie with the same exact content. Blah. I so hate the double standards that some people have. ^sigh^
6. :crying::crying::bawl: I totally understand how you feel. . .and I didn't even get to see the whole series. . .and they canceled Trigun also, as I have whined about before many times here. . . Grr. . .:flaming: I still don't understand why they picked Lupin and Reign, of all series out there, to replace them. It just makes no sense. *considering giving CN the Pudding Cup Award for mindless actions beyond the call of duty. . .~.^
7. I heard Blue Gender was a hentai. Maybe that's just a rumor (I'm hoping it is) but if it's true, I'm wondering what is po$$e$$ing ~.^ CN to air hentai and to drop anime with some artistic merit to make room for it. I mean, that's one line they haven't crossed before, at least as far as I know, and it's one that IMHO shouldn't be crossed because hentai isn't "cool" or "mature," or "cutting-edge," it's trash that any 14 year old boy with hormones and a mind that needs serious psychiatric care could write. Sorry for the miniature anti-hentai rant LOL. Anyway, what is BG? If it's true H, I've lost the last remaining shred of respect I had for CN Grr.:flaming:
8. That will be the only flame you see in this post. As for Reign, I don't like it because it's too short of a series (although considering what I've heard, it is actually good that it is so short, the pain ends sooner ~.^), it's not in one of my favorite genres per se (I'm a sci-fi/space/futuristic fan lol), the character design is really ugly (come on, get them some pants and put at least one bishounen who isn't gay in the series >_< ), and the set and art design really isn't the best. I just don't like it. I think my number one reason for not liking it is obvious though (look closely at my banner, username, avatar, and sig :luv: :crying: )
9.
I'm not counting Futurama or Family Guy as anime. . .I know it's adult swim, but erm, no.
Agreed. I personally detest the American shows on there for shallowness and total lack of plot and art beyond what a 9th grader with talent could draw or write (although they are supposed to be comedies so I guess those things don't matter, blah :P ) I personally wish they would make it an all anime time block. Toss Futurama, Family Guy, Oblongs, etc, etc, put Bebop and Trigun back on, add one other "serious" anime like GW, Escaflowne, maybe even MUCH less edited Kenshin-and then put something else that's more funny(like Slayers or maybe even an edit of the first volume of Irresponsible Captain Tylor-before it became so ecchi the edits would leave nothing) in the remaining slot. I don't know what good that would do for ratings, but I do know it would make a lot of otaku incredibly happy. . .including this one. -^.^-
10.
Originally posted by T man The wolfwood guy from trigun is my favorite because he is so cool.:D
:tasty: *counts to 10 while looking at this post wondering a: if the poster is under 11 (in which case he shouldn't even be watching Trigun yet, I'll save my rant on irresponsible parenting for later. . .) b: if the poster is high, or c: if this poster is really deserving of the MillieFan Pudding Cup Award For Not Thinking Before You Post. *takes out her blackboard and starts writing. . . I will not flame the newbie. I will not flame the newbie. I will not flame the newbie. I will not flame the newbie. -^.^-
11. The kid in "B.D.N." and in "Between the Wasteland and the Sky" was named Kaite. Source: http://www.theotaku.com/trigun/characters/kaite.shtml By the way, I concur with Vertigo. -^.^-
12. CN has one less viewer: those were my favorite animes! And to replace them with Lupin and Reign??? This is an outrage. *throws pudding cups and Wolfwood plushies j/k take that CN! :flaming: :flaming: :flaming::blackeye:
13. LOL, a few days ago I was talking in IM to my boyfriend, he was complaining about someone who was attempting to engage in some unwanted hotchat with him, and I said "why not just block him from your buddy lust" when I meant to type in "buddy list" for the last two words:blush:   The U and the I are so close together I make that typo often. . .but talk about the worst placement for it in any conversation. . . LOL
14. I've seen that episode twice (albeit the TV edit and dub, not enough money and I don't want to engage in software piracy :P ) I've also read character bios and plot summaries both at theotaku.com and elsewhere. The episodes that hint they were alone together without Knives present are other episodes IIRC: 7, 8 (B.D.N. and Between the Wasteland and the Sky), and 20 (Flying Ship, near the end when they are looking at the flowers)
15. NOTE: if this becomes lemon/hentai/spam/whatever either because of my posts or because of someone else's posts, I want it closed at once. I don't want any of that to happen. Please. What do you think the relationship between Vash and Rem in Trigun (the anime, the manga is another issue) really was? I mentioned this in a thread before but my post was a little too lemony and I ended up ruining the thread so. . . I personally think the characters had something more than just mutual admiration there. My reasoning is as follows: Rem seemed to show more interest personally in Vash than in Knives, even going so far as to tell him that he reminded her of her then-dead former lover and to style his hair so he would look even more similar. When Vash told Rem that he loved her, the reaction on her behalf seemed like she wasn't just humoring him. IIRC, she even blushed in that scene. It was implied they spent time together without Knives being with them (which he was usually when she was teaching them). In episode 17, when Rem left the escape pod, then died, Vash cried as a grieving lover would. . . Anyway, I say there's a lot of evidence. It's kind of creepy to think about in one way (because chronologically in the series it could be seen as statutory) but looking at it another way, since he's like depicted as outside of time, that doesn't apply. So what do you all think?
16. I watched Robotech when I was a little kid with my sister, didn't understand or remember it much though, LOL. Didn't even know what it *was* at the time, LOL. I would say for me it was the two console RPGs that used stylistic elements and art from anime, FFVII and Chrono Cross. -^.^-
17.
Well that it teh wosrt tyop I knoiws.
Chou, I sure hope that was intentional, or you have a new one for worst typo. I once almost made the "busy/busty" mixup (and I was talking to my boyfriend at the time, and since lately he's been annoyed by a bunch of pervs on IM hitting on him, that could have really hurt what he thinks of me lol) I normally proofread before I "go to press" with anything, whether it be a post or an IM. I've seen too many typos and I don't want to make them. I've made a lot, but the one I most frequently make is saying "Needles to say. . ." rather than "Needless to say. . ."
18. Hmm, the only one I can think of is Cid, who has been in every FF from IV to IX IIRC
19. Kuroneko. . .how could I have forgotten about the cutest kitty in anime second to Kiki's Jiji and Hello Kitty? awwww. (I haven't posted in this thread in ages!):ball:
20. So what if new people have no idea what we're talking about? Someone could post links to theotaku.com's sections on both in a sticky thread, also both series are available on DVD too (and probably will be on TV a little longer), so there will be new fans as well as us old fans. I'm all for this. -^.^-
21. I'm for both a Bebop forum and a Trigun forum. Or maybe a combined forum for both since they're kind of similar in some ways?
22. That's a great idea! -^.^- and now you'd know where I'd post all the time, LOL!
23. I think the mods do a wonderful job. I've seen anime boards dissolve into literal cesspools of flaming, hentai, and general idiocy, and the mods here do a great job of keeping the board enjoyable for everyone involved. -^.^-
24. I agree: PLEASE keep the swear filter in and all of the rules as they are. I've been to boards where there are basically no limits, and it soon spirals out of control. I mean, I once went to The Final Fantasy Forums, where someone managed to use the "F" word five times to discuss why they didn't like a flavor of ice cream (and where other posters regularly used it and other profanity to flame people, especially people who felt uncomfortable with it) and to anime-forums.com where people also used that kind of language and VERY perverted banners and signatures. I'm talking one person had borderline H in their sig. I totally agree with Shinji Ikari, James, Solo Tremaine, and Justin: please don't drop the censor or the rules. There are some people who don't feel comfortable with tons of swearing, and especially with the flaming and hateful atmosphere that it produces. By the way, I love what you all did with theotaku.com, it's a site I can recommend even on my boards that request clean links so. . .thanks very much! -^.^-
25. OK, here goes. I can't resist puppy eyes LOL. ~.^ As a Christian, I'm a philosophical objectivist. That means that I see the Bible as the objective standard for truth, and that I believe some actions, in and of themselves, are precisely wrong no matter what the motive for them may be, and that these actions are what we call "sins." For instance, according to my worldview, murder/killing is a sin no matter *what* the reason is, because the Bible teaches the general principles that it is not for men to judge or take revenge, that only God has the right to give and take life, and it expressly states that murder is a sin. Some motives for this sin may be better than others, but the act itself is still sin.
