"Gnat? What are you talking about? Hello?" Imara sighed and continued following him, though at a small distance. She ran a little faster so she walked right beside him. He looked down on her with a sneer of disdain and continued on. She follow him a few steps more then suddenly stopped. Dmitri turned and looked back, ducking in just enough time to avoid her sickle. She yanked the chain hard, calling it back to her, pure hatred radiating from her narrowed eyes. "You..." she hissed through tightly clenched teeth. She caught her sickle and put it away. He seemed to relax just a little, then tensed again as she pulled out her crossbow. "You!" She took careful aim and fired.

"Hello, Kenji." Alanna walked around from the opposite side of the building. He took aim, finger on the trigger of his rifle. She smirked. "Do that, and Matt will kill you himself, regardless of what he wants. I'm afraid I'm a bit more important than you think." She watched him carefully for a moment. Slowly, he lowered the rifle, still not taking his finger from the trigger. She pulled out her phone again, this time dialing Matthew. She waited for a moment as she was connected. "Hello?" came the voice on the other end. "Tell him we've met and I'll call him later. We're leaving behind the others for stealth." She hung up immeadiately and looked to Kenji again. "We need another hotel, this one is...inhabitable for the moment. Know of one?"
-
Alanna yawned, just a little bored with the room Matt had picked out for her. "'You'll be safer here'", she said, mocking his concern before she'd left. "'The others I've hired will protect you.' Why does he always think I need protection?" She walked into the hotel room's bathroom, checking her reflection quickly. "Perfect, he doesn't seem to have ruined anything." She strode out of the room, careful to step over the bodyguards. "Protect me? Ha!" She walked down the three flights of stairs quickly, stopping at the manager's desk before leaving. "Is there anything you'd like, Ms. del Re?" he asked. Damn, Matt. I must admit, you've frightened all the right people. Mostly. "Yes, could you send a maid to my room? It's a bit messy. If Mr. del Re calls for me, tell him to call my cell and that I'm not coming back here." "Yes, ma'am," he replied, scribbling down all she'd said. "I hope you enjoyed your stay." "Oh, most definitely." With a smirk, she walked out into the streets of New Dehli. After a small breakfast in a nearby restaurant, she called Kenji, her 'partner' according to Matt.

"What do you mean 'Always something wrong with them'?!" Imara yelled, her anger just at the surface. She jumped up, though painfully, and pulled out her sickle, ready for a fight. Dmitri just wandered off, muttering to himself. "Hey! Hello?! Can you hear me?! Hello, Dmitri, was it?" She ran up beside him, staring into his eyes again. "Who's Deteria? You mentioned him earlier." She sped up a bit so she was directly in front of him. "Come on, you can't ignore me now."

Name: Imara Dragomir (Because I like it.) Age: 16 Race: Halfling (Wood Elf/Human) Gender: Female Class: Wanderer Weapons: Sickle and chain; crossbow History: Imara has, for as long as she wishes to remember, been an outcast. Elves shunned her for her human characteristics and Humans for her elven. In time, she found a willing teacher who taught her the ways of combat. Once she felt she'd learned all that would be useful, she left his care and began to wander. Recently, she's been pulled westward and into the forest. Personality: Imara has a wandering mind and mercurial mood. She could start asking you about the weather and begin a conversation on the narrow-mindedness of the world. She prefers losing herself in thought at times, but talking animatedly at others. Her ever-changing mood makes everything about her unpredictable. Appearance: Imara standing at about 5'7" tall and has light brown skin, bright green eyes and almost dirty blonde hair that falls to about her elbows. She wears dark leather boots that come to about mid thigh, a leather skirt, a dark green top, leather vest, and leather guantlets. Her eyes have a kindly, almost dream-like expression. Strengths: Strong sense of justice, optimistic and philosophical attitude, fairly skilled with her weapons Weaknesses: Quick to anger, bipolar, tends to stare Eccentricities: Imara is bipolar, her moods changing faster than the colors of a sunset. At any given moment, she could be her normal, docile self. The next, she could be at your throat. She also has a poor long term memory since she has shut out most of her childhood and young adulthood.

On one of your many long journeys through yet another forest, you happen upon other travelers from all races and walks of life. Something has drawn you all to these woods, be it sinister or sheer coincidence. You begin talking to the others, learning about their pasts and their journeys. If nothing else, this motley crew will make a wonderful tale at the tavern or inn back home. This is a simple, rolling acceptance RPG. All you have to do is post your stats, check back, see if you've made the cut. I'll lay down a few simple ground rules. Follow them and all goes well. Don't and you have only one chance to correct yourself. 1. This is a medieval fantasy RPG. No modern weapons. I may allow a few exceptions, like more primative Final Fantasy-styled weapons, if I choose. 2. There will be the basic fantasy races. Elves, Humans, Dwarves, Drow, etc. If you don't think your character's race fits into this category, PM me and I'll either approve or make a suggestion. The same goes for your class. Warriors, mercenaries, thieves, wizards (not likely), rogues, druids (also not likely), priests/priestesses, monks, royalty, etc. 3. The plot is very simple: find out what drew you and the others to the woods. The catch? You have to write the actual plot through your roleplay. I may change this later but, for now, this is law. 4. If you're rejected at first, simply try another signup if you want to be in this so badly. I may even accept you for your perserverance. 5. If any "bad guy" shows up, they'll automatically become an NCP, unless the person who creates them decides to play them as well. Also, just because one villian is defeated doesn't mean there isn't space for another one. 6. Everyone must PM me a sample of your WRITING abilities. It can be anything, from a post in another RPG to part of a fanfic you're currently writing. As long as it's prose and PM'd, I truthfully could care less. 7. I reserve the right to boot you out during gameplay. 8. Rules may be added if I think of anything else. *Listen to Jubal Baca's Fantasy No.24 if you need inspiration. You'll need to scroll a bit to find it. I can't link directly. *Gameplay has begun. I'll still acept signups for as long as the RPG remains alive. Signup Name: Age: Race: Gender: Class: Weapons/Abilities: (Limit depends on class, race, and personality.) Appearance: Strengths: Weaknesses: Eccentricities: (Anything else about your character you consider of importance. Something like bipolar disorder or schizophrenia {Ahem, Ray.} would fall into the category. Also, this isn't required, but it makes things so much more interesting.) Accepted Obsidian_Rose Dmitri_Dragoon Rejected/Kicked Out Still Under Consideration

Slightly odd question but here goes. I recently downloaded the beta version of openCanvas and the first time I opened it, everything was in English. Everytime since, including after downloading it again, everything has been indistinct characters that don't make up any language I've ever seen. Is this just a bug or did I accidently change something?

Her birth was one of scandal and misdemeanors. Her father was white, Irish to be exact, and her mother was his faithful servant working to improve the life of her family. Her father divorced his family in disgrace and moved with her mother to tiny cabin in a remote part of the colony. For ten years, they lived peacefully, the very image of a happy family. Her father then caught wind of the zealous "cleansation" of his former family and began running to save the life of his now wife and child. For another nine years, they lived in happiness. But her father's family's resentment grew until finally, while she was walking in the nearby woods, they murdered her parents. Laura returned just in time to see her grandfather and uncle shoot her mother. Dropping the flowers she'd collected, she ran deep into the wood, hiding in fear. After a few minutes, she fell to the ground, exhausted and tramautized. She didn't even notice her uncle stalking up behind her, or the rifle in his hand. He aimed and fired, just missing the fatal shot but knocking her unconscious. Very slowly, very painfully, she died there and, to her disappointment, awoke as an immortal. Since then, she has traveled the Untied States, winding her way slowly back home. In her wanderings, she picked up a particular knack for painting and sketching. She improved her talent and focused on her studies, eventually becoming the art teacher she is in this lifetime. ---------- I think I'm finally done. A while back, I got this great idea for a manga loosely based on a story I'm writing by the same name and Disturbed's "Liberate". I got a few more inspirations from Shards of Alesya. In a few minutes, I had a nice little plot going and I attempted to draw the first page. Then I realized, I had not the experience for it. So I look to the great artists of OB for some help. Just post any example and say how much time you can commit and when you're online, and I shall get back to you in a free moment. Here's a basic plot for you all. There are a few blanks that I'll eventually fill in with the help of a willing artists, so it's not just me being...well, me. All angels are reincarnated throughout the ages of the world. Like the original angels themselves, they compliment each other perfectly and will fall in love. Ah, the opposites attract theory... Just as Gabriel and Michael, they will have to be kept from each other and forbidden to fall in love until specified time which will begin the reincarnation of the Messiah (hence the title). Their leader, codenamed Padré, tries his hardest to keep them apart, but does he have alterior motives? The computer genius and former professional hacker, codenamed Holy Spirit, sympathizes with them, and, without revealing too much but letting them know just enough, keeps them from falling away from each other and breaking the eternal circle of life itself. Some may have seen this before. Writing Books on Witchcraft, Goddesses. and Demonology

Warlock means oath breaker? I always thought its meaning had something to do with cowardice. But no one ever said I had common sense. Anyways, thanks for everything, ma'am. I'll put everything, except bleaching cats, to as good a use as I possibly can. That nun better start looking for some sneakers. I can finally get her back and finish my paper. -

Writing Books on Witchcraft, Goddesses. and Demonology

Winter: I'm trying to limit myself, mostly because everything I find has to relate to Shakespeare's Macbeth in some way, but it can't hurt to search the other topics you've suggested. Much appreciated. Sciros: Thanks for the tip. Even though you say the author gets a bit into his subject, at least I know he'll be passionate and slightly more interesting. And it definitely won't be my only source. -
Writing Books on Witchcraft, Goddesses. and Demonology

I'm trying my hardest not to, but it's a bit hard without the book to at least thumb through. And my school's library won't help. I, unfortunately, go to a Catholic school and they don't "permit such material". -
This probably sounds very odd, but I'm looking for books on the history of witchcraft, the dark arts, and Hecate for my English research paper. I've found a lot, but I'm not sure if any of it will actually help. Before I go and spend a bunch of money, could someonee help me decide which are actual worth my money? I'm on a bit of a budget. Also, if anyone wants to buy these books at the end of the school year (if I decide to sell them), post here as well. Anyways, here's the list so far. PS: If this is in the wrong section (I wasn't sure it would belong in the literature forum), please move it. - "The Black Arts" by Richard Cavendish - "Raising Hell: A Concise History of the Black Arts and Those Who Dared Practice Them" by Robert Masello - "The History of Witchcraft and Demonology" by Montague Summer - "Witchcraft and Magic in Sixteenth-And Seventeenth-Century Europe (Studies in European History)" by Geoffrey Scarre - "A History of Witchcraft" by Jeffrey B. (sarcasm: RUN AWAY! I've made an attempt at historical accuracy AND spelling at once!) Anyways, I drew this after 1. paying way too much attention in history class and 2. seeing the scene from the HBO movie Joe and Max depicting Kristalnacht. If you have no idea what Kristalnacht is, definitely brush up on the WWII history. Anyways, she's a Jew killed that night in front of her family's store. I couldn't draw the glass on the ground or the feet of the Nazi soldiers running past, but I think the message gets across. The lyrics copyright is a part of the sketch. I just found the stock for all of these, unfortunately, so no extra praise for me. Maybe after I get a few new programs, I'll edit the stock myself. And the ones with repeated text are my favourites. It gives me the sense of an echo, but I probably should have faded the text a bit more. And I haven't had the chance to buy any of AFI's older CDs, so I woudn't know the difference. Thanks for your comment. I've always loved your banners but never had anything constructive to say.

I understand how you feel. In my last period, I was made to take a test to take an inventory of the juniors and seniors for which occupations they might have later in life. Around Valentine's Day, there are usually tests to match you with a guy in the school. In PreCalc, we're given nearly constant quizzes and tests to see if we have good memories (evil nun). I see exactly where you're coming from, Twilight. But as others have said, tests are a necessary evil. On March 27, I'll be taking the SATs. But I understand why (pretty much) I have too take them. Then again, I'm one of those people who never studies and would have been in NHS (long, off topic story). Semi long story short: tests can be a good thing, believe it or not. And, like Baron said, it's the time between that makes the tests worse. And homework. Homework is a not-so-necessary evil. Speaking of which, I must go memorize the graphs of sine, cosine, tangent, and their reciprocals. Anyone wish to help me?
You were probably going for the wavy look, but a ruler might have helped if you weren't. ^ ^ It's very original in style, as opposed to the more classic cartoons/ anime. Yeah, the hand is backwards. The shoulders are also kind of odd, as in a bit too low, but it's not that extremely noticeable.
I was going for the normal brick look, but I didn't notice just how slanted my lines were and when it was inked, it just got worst. As for the style, it's kinda borrow from Ash. I really love her style and wanted to add a bit of my own spin to it. As for the hand, that's what I get for using my left as a reference for a right. But my right was kinda in use at the time, ya know? I never noticed the shoulders though. Thanks for pointing it out.
And to add on to what Godelsensei has said, he does look a bit anorexic, but I assume that's how you wanted it.
The anorexic look makes him look much more suitably dejected and depressed. It's just how I wanted him to look.
It's your style, but changing it for a class won't be as bad as it may seem. It's good to know different types of drawing.
Good point. I'll be looking at my art-inclined friends' sketchbooks then. At least then I'll know what sort of thing I need to work on. Since I don't plan to color No Flowers any time soon, I'll just post the banners I've made in my absence on OB. Thanks for the comments. I guess they are both a bit on the stream of consciousness side (you're about the fifth person to mention that to me), but a lot of my poems are. It could have something to do with mental stablity, but then again, many great artists/poets/musicians aren't quite sane. That's what make then great. Back to the point. When Lady Macbeth is giving her sleep walking semi-soliquoy, she mentions that "all the perfumes of Arabia" will never rid her of the stench of Duncan's blood. (Sorry again to anyone reading the play.) And masquerade could definitely work as story. But I have a few other things to finish for school before that happens. Here's another poem in need of comments. It might be a bit too inner narative and is probably much too personal, but I don't think anyone on OB knows me well enough to see much in this. Do you? Oh, I'll probably rewrite this if I get any free time and feel inspired. Sing My Sorrows, Burn My Candles When the beautiful stars fall from the dark night sky, will you catch them for me? Or left them slip through your fingers, like the sands of the desert? When the glowing ashes leap from the wide mouth of the volcano, will you let them burn my flesh? Or protect me and burn, let the tears fall from my eyes? "Never never wanted this/Always wanted to believe/Never never wanted this" Be it the crying stars or the angry ashes, will you be there for me? Or so very far away, let what may happen be? My wounds will tell you my story. My scars will sing their laments. My eyes will play a moving picture. My mouth will remain silent as always. "Never never wanted this/From the start, I'd been decieved/Never never wanted this" Let the wounds continue. Let the scars chorus. Let the eyes finish. Let the mouth stay. The tales never end. The songs never cease. The credits never roll. The closing never opens. O! Stars! Sing my sorrows! O! Ashes! Burn my candles!
