1. You know what this reminds me of, KKC's post in particular? It reminds me of the little book of bunny suicides, where the artist comes up with fun new and imaginative ways for the bunnies to kill themselves. Its hilarious if you haven't read it.
2. Lara looked around the dungeon that the Adventurers now found themselves in. The dungeon was dark, with all manner of maniacle devices adorning the walls and floors, no doubt the help along these lemmings death-wish. Out of instinct Lara pulled out her pistols and held them ready in advance of any dangers that might attack. Shaking her head Lara attempted to expell the feeling of uneasiness that permiated the air. The Single block colours and pixelated animation of this 2D world made her nauscious in a way she couldn't describe. It seemed that the lemmings themselves had yet to make an appearance. Sweeping a cursory glance of the dungeon it became apparent as to why. A large Start Game sign hung, suspended in mid air, flat and pixelated much like the rest of the environment around them. Turning towards the group Lara motioned towards the sign with a sweep of her pistol. "Alright, it seems we have a little bit of time before this game begins." The rest of the group nodded, all looking about as green as Lara felt. All, that is, except Pac-Man, who, now seemingly out of his blue pill crazed funk, was rolling around the 2D area laughing hysterically. "A maze! Its so beautiful, its amazing, its a-mazing ha ha!" Lara frowned at the balls antics, his radical behavior could lose them the challenge, or possibly even get them killed. Far too focused upon the crazy Pac-Man Lara didn't notice that the Start Game icon had vanished. Almost instantly a steady stream of blue, green-haird creatures came tumbling down the screen, marching steadily towards a multitude of deaths. Lara's eyes went wide. Blue creatures? "Ah you shall all be mine!" Looking wildly in the direction of Pac-Man Lara was shocked to see that rather than his usual yellow, the ball was now a flashing red. He was raching towards the line of lemmings, his mouth a gaping maw in anticipation of his fix. "Holy Sh**" Lara swore, as she and the rest of the team dove towards the ball. Piling onto of him, they were too slow to prevent the demise of two of the creatures who disappeared into the vast opening of his mouth. Rolling violently in an attempt to shake those who were weighing him down Pac-man roared his defiance. "Damn you ghosts, you don't even eat the blue pills!" Losing her grip Lara was flung wide, squashing flat a group of lemmings who were trying to escape the chaotic scene. Grimacing, she pulled herself up from the sticky blue and green mass that had previously been a group of four lemmings. Buggar Lara sighed.
3. I'm sorry Solo :(. If you want I can edit my post so it fits your descriptions, I'm flexible. P.S Shinji...I think you're a bit behind in current events with your recent post lol
4. It depends how you define 'fighting'. In some opinions, a heated debate is considered as fighting, whereas I just view it as a strong comparison of views. I honestly like reading contraversial threads just to see who is going to preach just a little too much and a full blown argument take place. As Azure Wolf said, its all for entertainment purposes. People who go around specifically baiting people until they react, however, are not entertaining. There is a difference between subject generated argument/debate and just plain flaming. There are some people out there who go into threads, specifically to annoy people just for poops and giggles, 'cause some people are like that. We can't all just get along, thats not human nature. Conflict makes the world go round and to be honest, I wouldn't have it any other way ^_~.
5. I do believe it is our final decision yes ^_^.
6. Here's my go KKC. I know its quite plain but I thought that it would give it a sort of dynamic if I just stuck to simple bold colours.
7. After having settled on what the prize for their previous victory would be Lara had excused herself and gone to set herself up in one of the small huts that lined the beach of the island. The flimsy wooden door creaked as she opened it and her booted feet thudded dully on the firm floorboards. The one-roomed hut was only slightly bigger than that of a touring caravan, though the ceiling was thankfully higher, negating the need to stoop while moving around its interior. A few simple amenities adorned the room, most notably a plain single bed with clean white sheets, a sort of bed-side table that looked like it also doubled as a dresser. A small, but unblemished mirror hung on the opposite wall to the bed and near it stood a long rack with thin wire coathangers swinging from its length. Sitting with a slow movement onto the bed Lara ran her hand briefly over the soft sheets and smiled in greatful appreciation. Letting out a long sigh she reclined upon the bed, kicking off her boots and letting them clatter haphazardly onto the floor. At least it is clean Lara thought, simple, but clean. It was more than likely that they would have to take part in a multitude of dangerous, dirty and no doubt strenuous challenges while they were here and Lara had no intention of returning to a waste filled camp-site where insects chewed holes in your socks. Adventurous she may be but she was still a Lady and a lady had to have principles. Lara glanced at her bag and smirked Principles and some heavy artillery. Sitting up from her position on the bed Lara fanned herself lightly, light from the high afternoon sun glaring in through the small, strategically placed windows. Lara grabbed her bag and pulled out its contents, stowing each item away carefully before setting out the items she required. Well, if this is a jungle island I might as well look the part. Lara grinned as she held up her favourite shorts, green vest top and combat boots.
8. Being able to delete posts that other people have written is just asking for abuse really, also it would probably lead to a lot of confusion if a post that someone had answered just suddenly disappeared. Also, you aren't going to get very far with the whole "I'm right and you have no right to an opinion" kind of attitude. Honestly, the world is full of give and take.
9.
What about some kind of magic mirror that lets us spy on the other teams (like from beauty and the beast) hehe. That's the best thing I can come up with so far. Anyone else have any ideas?
Thats a great idea! I mean, you can't get much more practical than that really. Also, Sandy, you didn't state whether the Adventurers already had a hut or something on the island. Its just for how to approach posting on the island.
10. A luxury item huh? Something useful... I honestly have no idea, whatever anyone else comes up with is fine by me ^_~
11.
Speaking of Soiltray Island, how about Arcadian Hair Sip?
That is genius lol. I suppose a difference in global time is a benefit when dealing with challenges like these. I mean I probably read the challenge when everyone in the US was still asleep. Also I spent the time I could have been using working on an assignment working on the word jumble lol ^_~.
12. Arcadian Airship? Wow, that was a toughy, much harder than the one the adventurers got for sure.
13. Its okay Sakura ^_^, I didn't just look at it and go 'Oh its Solitary Island' I sat down and wrote out lists of words that I could make from the letters. I got 'Island' fairly quickly but you should have seen some of the funny stuff I got for the first bit: ALISTORY TORYSAIL SAILORTY TROYSAIL And my personal favourite SOILTRAY! Heh if I ever get an island, I'm going to call it Soiltray Island lol.
14. They cancelled Megas?! Now way, aww man I really love that show. Isn't always the way that for no good reason networks just cancel shows. You see it all over the place with thigns like Farscape and Firefly. Good shows with great ratings that just get dropped like a hot stone. Why the hell would they cancel Samurai Jack?! That thing was gold, pure gold!
15. Lara looked around her at what was now to be her team. Raising an astonished eyebrow she gave a low whistle. This probably had to be the strangest looking team in the history of teams...with the possible exception of the European Celebrity Golf team. Scanning over the group she made a mental note of each member: One Angry Hedgehog One Bright Yellow Ball Two Anthro-Fox People One...actually she didn't know what the hell the newcomer was, And One Human (that was her) Its a good job I don't have fur allergies she mused, I just hope they're good at what they do With a last mental shake of her head Lara turned her attention to the task at hand and to the jumbled selection of letters that she had scribbled down during the moogles excited dialogue. A A D I I L L N O R S S T Y Trying to make sense of what she was seeing Lara scowled and scratched her head in pensive thought. Apparently this was supposed to form two words, though the only clue they had was that it was supposedly where there camp was to be set up. Puzzles were usually her speciality, she'd solved more intricate problems in her time as a Tomb Raider than she cared to think about, and under much more dire conditions but it seemed that this little jumble would take a little bit of thought. Maybe its becuase its not covered in a thousand years of sand and dust... or maybe its just because I'm not running for my life from a giant boulder Giving a huffed sigh Lara approached the rest of her team and gracefully lowered herself into a seated position on the floor. Looking up she gave a cheerful grin, masking her current frustration. "So, my illustrious yet slightly odd looking team...any ideas?" Several Hours Later... "I have it!" Lara Looked up from her position on the floor to see who had made the excited noise. The sight that greeted her almost made her burst out laughing. Shadow, the surly hedgehog was jumping up and down on the spot he stood, punching the air with his fist. Choosing instead to smirk at his antics Lara held out her hand to retrieve the piece of paper he was frantically waving in the air. "What exactly do you have Mr. Hedgehog?" Hearing her amused tone, Shadow calmed down considerably, aware of his audience. Resuming his sullen, scowling position Shadow attempted to regain some of his compsure, though his cheeks were warmed with a certain red tinge. "Ahem. I have the stupid answer to this stupid puzzle okay." Shadow practically threw the paper he was holding at Lara, folding his arms across his chest firmly, "Not that I care." Rolling her eyes Lara inspected the hedgehogs answer and couldn't hold back a short laugh as she read what he had written. Shadow narrowed his eyes in a glare. "What? Whats the matter lady, whats so funny?" "Soiltray Island?" Lara could hear the others chuckle as she read out the answer. Shadow turned even redder at the groups apparent amusement. He hastily tried to defend himself. "Yeah, that could be a place...it could!" Lara shook her head at him and handed back the paper. "Somehow I don't think so." Her tone was as kind as she could make it, while still holding back her laughter. "I know!" This time the excited voice came from the blue fox, Krystal. "How about instead of soiltray it was 'solitary'. Solitary Island!" It was as if the sun had suddenly peaked out from behind a thick bank of clouds and the group began to chatter excitedly. Lara grinned at Krystal. "Thats great! I'll bet that's it." Still grinning Lara wrote down the answer 'SOLITARY ISLAND' upon the answer slip Mog had given them. Shadow, his arms still folded firmly across his chest grumbled slightly in the corner. "Still my damn answer..." ________________________________________________________________ OOC: Well, thats my guess: SOLITARY ISLAND
16. Here's another question, though it doesn't relate to the challenge. I thought Mario was a platform type game, so why is he in the RPG section? Not that I mind though, my team is weird enough looking as it is ^_~, just curious is all. P.S Could we also, maybe, have a hint? ^___^
17. Holy moly! Dude, stick that image as a link somewhere before it starts to take over the entire boards. I for one don't want to be the one to clean up the members who get squished by its giantness ^_~. On the subject I think the wallpaper itself is pretty good, nice and simple though prehaps something could be done with the dragon in the bottom corner, it seems a little grainy and unfocused to me.
18. What an interesting concept ^_^. I'm just getting funny images now of Luigi going "you're-a fired-a!". Ah good times.
19. Hey Wraith ^_^ Seein' as how we're probably going to be on the same team and all, I thought I'd be generous and give your request a shot. I have a couple of different versions of the banner, since I kinda changed the main image at the last minute just to see how it looked.
20. Hey kid, why don't you post some of your stuff in the Art forum and then we can all tell you how great you are, or even better you might get some pointers on how to improve. Everyone gets a little down when they see people who do things better than themselves but that is no reason to give up. If it makes you happy just do it and practice makes perfect after all. Hell if I would never stop drawing and I know for a fact that I'm nowhere near good in comparison to some people. No matter what you do there will always be someone who can do it better...and always someone who can do it worse ^_~
21. Lara chuckled softly as her companion, Yuna, related a particularly amusing story about a man she knew named 'Brother'. Lara was thankful for the distraction from the odd yellow ball that was currently baiting the angry black hedgehog at the other side of the waiting area. Returning her attention to Yuna she smiled ocne more at the description of the girls clueless admirer. It seemed, as well as a liking for fire-arms they both had a knack for attracting hapless yet utterly devoted men. It was, prehaps, a shame that Yuna was on an apposing team to herself. The girl was likeable enough, though she did have a worldly innocence that Lara thought was slightly innapropriate for her line of work. Glancing at the girls finely crafted weapons Lara gave a mental shrug. Prehaps beneath that gaudy exterior and quietly pleasant personality lay a woman of action much like herself. "...and then the sphere landed right on Rikku's head and" Lara glanced back towards her companion, hearing Yuna's pause. Yuna gave a small embaressed laugh "..I'm sorry, I know my stories must seem incredibly dull in comparison to your adventures." Lara smiled warmly, shaking her head. "Not at all, it is I who must appologise, I just drifted off for a moment." Hearing a soft thudding of boots suddenly approaching their position Lara unconciously gripped her pistols that had, by now, been returned to their holsters at her sides. Looking over Yuna's shoulder Lara raised an incredulous brow at the man who now leant causally before them, a small smirk playing on his lips. Grumbling about male arrogance Lara alerted Yuna to the mans presence before coming to face him herself. "Hi there, ladies...I'm sure you've heard of me, saved the world a coupla times from demonic invasion from hell and such. Name's Dante." The man seemed somewhat pleased with himself at his self-introduction. Lara turned to Yuna and rolled her eyes, making the girl give a small giggle, which she managed to cover with her hand. Releasing her grip on her weapons Lara smiled sweetley at the large man before her. "I'm afraid I have not heard of you nore your exploits Mr...Dante. Though I am sure that the loss is mine. I can, however, assure you that saving the world from demonic invasion will be considered small potatoes in this company." Folding her arms before her Lara cocked her head to one side, her sweet smile still in place.
22.
Are the teams going to split up according to the three items that were handed out?[/b'] You don't have to answer if you don't want to give anything away, but if you wouldn't mind I am quite curious. ^^;
Yeah, it does seem that we have all assumed that whoever has the same item will be on the same team. Wouldn't we look foolish if that wasn't the case lol.
23. Yeah I blame Lrb too. I made mine myself, I'm such a sheep lol. Are there going to be team leaders in this? If so, how is that decided?
24. But surely one cannot resist the temptation of the spoiler tag. Simply setting eyes on that block of blacked out text sets my nerves tingling. Even if there is nothing of interest to me, I must find out what is concealed within.
25. Tapping her foot gently on what passed for a floor in this place, Lara sighed in exasperation at the antics of her fellow 'team mate'. It seemed that the only member of her team to arrive so far had been the rather angry looking, and acting hedgehog. An odd character if ever there was one she though glumly. Lara was, of course, immedietly relieved to see another player approach, seemingly holding a blue feather that indicated the team she now found herself on. Lara was slightly taken aback to find that her new team mate was not human. Appraising the anthropormorphic fox that was rapidly approaching Lara had the distinct feeling that she was going to be the only human on her team. Well I suppose she has to be more agreeable than that gun-toting pincushion Lara thought as she glanced at Shadow who was still glaring at the black youth who was making eyes at the rest of the female competators. Turning her attention back to the girl/fox who was approaching, Lara smiled warmly in greeting. "Well, isn't it a relief to see someone else with a feather around here." The fox laughed as she fingered her own feather that was sticking out of the headband she wore. "Hmm, we do seem to be in a minority don't we." The girl's voice was lyrical and cultured as she spoke and Lara felt herself warming up to her new team-mate almost immediately, despite their obvious physical differences. She was about to answer when suddenly a bright yellow ball came bouncing into the crowd, a bright blue feather apparent though it had nothing with which to hold it. Oh dear Lara murmered to herself, this is going to be a bit more interesting than I thought
