I am definatley going to have agree on the bring down part. But the other thing I dont like about the looks of the movie, is how they brought back old-aged characters such as Frankenstein, and put them in a new aged film. It just doesnt fit. Even though I am not huge fan of Helsing so I dont really know the plot. But even so I do plan on seeing the movie and how it turns out...
And you wonder why America has the highest gun related deaths that reach well and above any others of any other country in the world... Dumbarses. Don't you people have any idea on weapon safely? Learn AO's and general practices? Or laws that limit who can use guns and their storage? I'm being rude because people who screw around with weapons are idiots, this case for example, a class one weapon (.22 etc) is still lethal. Some one could walk through the door and you could drop them even though they might have done nothing wrong... Good god some people are insane. Edited: Your logic is just flawed. If they stole a rack of guns/rifles they no doubt have a better weapon than you, at least a 303, and probably have more experience at handling them. So if they walk into your house and see you pointing a 22 at them they will probably take a shot and disable you since you are a kid and therefor unpredictable. You wouldn't have a chance. What you should be doing is getting on with what you normally do and if any burglars come you should let them take what ever they want and let them leave without any problems which is the smart option. Plus 1) you probably couldn't pull the trigger if it came to it, 2) if you did that is man slaughter or a form of assault and 3) if they are injured on your premises they can sue you for damages. (Yay for the American court system...)
Now I am not trying to be rude, but what you have said about manslaughter and being able to sew for damages is totally false. My dad is a lawyer, and when we were broken into, if my dad would've had a gun, and the guy hadnt of run, he would have shot his a** down. This is totally in self-defense. I doesnt matter where it happens or how, if your are in danger of being hurt, or are being harmed, you can kill in self-defense. Its simple, so cloricus, if he would pull the trigger, it would do nothing to him or his family. -
Chibi, I am 15, but I mean I dont just wanna give up on her. Only because we do keep in touch, and when Im with her I just feel like Im a different person. But I do understand how you think that I should give up. Well thank you all for your advice, and if I need more, Ill let you all know

I just recently heard about this movie and it looks really interesting. I loved the first two, and I definatley think I will like this one as well. The only thing I dont like about it is how all of the sudden,
Dracula
is the movie just out of nowhere. And plus, his overall reputation, meaning every movie he has been in, doesnt fit the role in a movie such as this one. But that is just one mans opinion. But on a good note, I do like the plot of it. It seems that it will be alot more "intense" because
because of the fact that the humans and vampires are now trying to get rid of the "Daywalker" a.k.a Blade (that means more action ^_^).
But I do definatley plan on seeing the movie.

Well recently, about 3-4 months ago, I met this amazing girl. I met her at a party that my neighbor was having, and we clicked. She spent the night over as did I, and we had a blast. The next morning I woke up and she was packing an extremely large suit case, and I was curious to see what it was so I asked, she said Im going home. I was like did you really need all of those clothes, and she said yes because... SHE LIVED IN VIRGINIA!!!!! I live in Maryland so I only see her maybe every 2-3 weekends. Now she means so much to me, its like unbelieveable. We are currently trying a "long distance" relationship but it just really isnt working for me. So what I am trying to get at is, what do you think I should do, "break up" with her? And I really dont want to hurt her feelings, because she really means alot to me. So what do you think?

I know how you feel... My house was broken into not too long ago but thanks to our alarm system he ran. They eventually found him because of the footsteps in the snow but it was scary. Me, my brother, and dad went down stairs with baseball bats to see if anyone was still there and a few minutes later the police showed up, and we were all fine. But I dont really think it is necessary to have a gun in this type of situation only because it may be serious, but think about it, would you ever pull the trigger. I know I wouldnt, but I would swing a bat. -
Two words, "great movie." Even though I didnt like the way it was dubbed and how their mouths saying something but it comes out totally different(its a just a thing with me), it was great. I didnt like how it ended though, with
the wolf ending up being a lion
but a great movie indeed.

This combination comes from the Animatrix. I think they both turned out fairly well. I didnt add any text because I tried to add some but it made it look alot worse. So please comments, and suggestions.

I have seen a couple of previews for the movie and to me it looks very interesting. Its about a child who was killed in some sort of car acciedent and the parents found some way to clone him. Then something horrible goes wrong, I have no idea what it is, and something happens to the child where I suppose he is seeing visions where he died or something like that, but dont take my word for it. But I do definatley plan on seeing the movie. So my question to you is, if you have or going to see the movie, how do you think it will be or if it was good and why? I think it will be excellent because based on the commercial it seems as though it has excellent plot.

Wow, that is great Kinetic. May I use that as my Wallpaper? But for the rating... I really have nothing to say except "brilliant." This is by far your best work in my opinion. The only thing is the text placement, which I think could be better, along with the font. But other than that, it is brilliant.

Thanks Semjaza, and I think you're right about it taking away from it... and I was more leniant(sp?) towards the one without my name. So thanks again

I made a banner today and as I was adding text to it I was debating whether it looked good and I should use it with the text, or if it didnt look to great and I should use it without the text. So Im leaving this up to you guys, tell me which one I should use, and critique both banners with comments and suggestions.
There is already a threat about yellowcard...but anyway. I'd suguest the songs Inside Out, Only One, Way Way, and Miles Apart. If you like yellow card you might want to give Brand New and Taking Back Sunday a listen. -Mark
Two other songs I would recommend are Believe and View from Heaven. Those two songs are deep, and I mean deep. Believe is about the 9/11 attacks and we all know that that was a really difficult time and they wrote a song about it. And View from Heaven is about this guys girlfriend dying, or at least thats what I took from it. But the band is great and I love their album. I want to see them in concert soon, because if their C.D. is this good, imagine how good they are in person... ^_^

Heres an avatar I made for you, I couldnt find a good spot for the text so I didnt add your name. You might want to find someone else to do that but here it is...
First, Mikkado, you've double posted a few times in this thread. Please refrain from doing so in the future. Second, I'd appreciate it if everyone would do me a favor and stop the senseless bickering before I have to bother closing this thread. If you have nothing nice or constructive to say, just back out of here.If you wish to keep adding to an argument that's really just going to run in circles, then just step back, remember this is just a pointless messageboard and do something else. It's gotten far too negative and that's exactly why these threads have been frowned upon in the past. It's one thing to post a disagreement, it's another to take this as far as it has gone. And no, I don't want any direct quotes of this post or to discuss it any further. Just relax and let this thread be civil like it was in the first place.
Semjaza, if this thread is beginning to cause a problem please close it, I do not want any discrimination on the boards about religion because of this thread. But to stay on topic, Bio is right on the Satan thing. Lucifer was once a high angel and was once of the most trusted of the angels. But as he was so greedy and thirsty for power, he tried to overtake God and was terribly unsuccesful. God then banished him to Hell and now he is the ruler of the underworld. Now dont take my word on that, but thats what I have heard from my religion teacher so Im pretty sure that it is almost accurate. On the resurrection thing I really dont know though. I dont think that they believe that all the bodies resurrected because of the fact that Jesus only did it because he was the Son of God and resurrected to be at the right hand of the Father. But I cant really say for sure, so Bio could possibly be right.

This is the easiest question ever for me. Ever since I was little I have always dreamed of becoming a guitarist in a rock band. I started playing the guitar about a year and a half ago and have done actually really well with it. I was planning on starting a "garage band" but then as soon as I had all the people ready for the band, my bassist broke his hand and we couldnt start, and we couldnt find another so we were pretty much screwed. But anyway, right now I have a Lez(sp?) Paul that I bought from my teacher. Its black and it has the traditional white stripe down the fret to indicate the frets. I love it, and right before I purchased it from her she got it fixed up. I play mainly alternative rock such as Incubus, blink 182, Greenday etc. I enjoy playing guitar alot and after I get really good at guitar, I plan on starting to play the drums. My neighbor has a drum set so Im over there like learning everyday from her friends boyfriend. Hes so good but anyways. Yeah, so basically I want to become a "rock star." And I cant wait to finally get my garage band started! ^_^

Ahhh, TN, very nice. I love how the purple fits perfectly with the actual image. Overall, its a great banner... but everyone knows that I am quite picky... Theres two things that kinda *twitches* irk me. The first is the Transformers symbol on the side, it just seems out of place to me. I think that it would look better if it was more I guess maybe faded into the background, but its no to bad looking. Now the second this is the glowing around the edge of Galvatron. I think it would look better without it, but it does give it a nice touch, so it can go either way. And I guess it looks pretty good with it so.... I guess theres only one thing after all, but overall, great looking banner. And I love the layout in the back. -
Wow, I didnt realize that this thread would cause so much discussion, but anyways. I have been reading through alot of the posts and I might be mistaken but I havent seen anyone say that they were Jewish, or at least I havent read any that do say that. And I am also glad to see that there is a wide variety of religions on the borads, which to me is great. But to stay on topic, I got sick today. And it made me start thinking about the religion that Tom Cruise believes in and him and Nicole Kidman(sp?), his ex-wife, split up for. It believes in that when you become sick or when something bad happens to you, your God is very displeased with you and he thinks of that as a punishment for you. Its scientology(sp?) I believe. And I was wondering what you all thought on this as well, do you believe that sickness or a bad day is caused because of your unloyalty to your God? I dont but I would like to hear your opinions on this.
No, I believe in God. Or whatever may be up there... I believe something or somethings are up there. I guess it's really agnostic. Why do I dislike religious beliefs... because I don't like the idea of a book written by people (regardless if it's God's word or whoever's word) telling other people what they should think, feel, do, etc. It's just another form of slavery to me really. Some would disagree, and that's their deal. I'm not here to debate religion, believe what you want, just don't expect me to believe it to, and you should repsect my decision to do that.
Dont get me wrong, I do respect your decision. I was just wondering what you disliked about them. I respect everyones decision to believe in whatever religion they want, or if they dont want to be religious. Like I said before, I dont want this thread to become discriminatory against anyone or any faith. And Godelsensei, its just something we use to express our faith, to have hope for a better time if your in a bad time, and if its a good time we use it to show that we would like it to stay this way. We also use it to show that, for me at least, Jesus died for me and for us to free us from our sins and that some day he will come again to show us that he will be always with us. We also use it to show that God has made his committment to us as he did with Abram and will keep that committment as long as we keep this committment to him. But religion to me is key in my life, when I am in a bad time or have a bad day, I result to God. I will go up in my room, lock my door, and pray for maybe up to an hour. God is my answer, I really never use violence unless something gets me going so much that I have to use force to stop it, which I think is wrong but some things just put me to that point. One of my quotes is that fighting for peace will not solve anything. I think the best way to stop fighting and get to peace, is through religion. When the communists were ruling during the Nazi times, Pope John Paul II stood up to that with his "Solidarity" campaign and stopped it. I think that we should use this example to stop war permanently. He used this to destroy the Soviet Union, and he took down the Berlin Wall. So think about this, if one person can do that, imagine what a whole party of religions can do. Pope John Paul II has been a role model for me. He has showed me that religion is the best way to get out your anger and to discuss with God. Religious beliefs to me are my way of expressing my feelings to God, and if I did not have those beliefs, than I would be so lost in my life right now. So that is my reasoning for believing what I belive in, and I hope this encourages others to believe in something of their own if they need someone to talk to "up there."

I wasnt sure if a thread on this had already been made but I have just rented and watched the movie and I thought it was awesome. I loved the fact that he took a stuck-up bunch of kids from an elementary school, and turned them into kids that could play rock music. And rock is my favorite genre of music so I was absolutley pleased with the movie. Plus Jack Black was the main character, Duey, and Black is the most hilarious person/actor I have ever heard and seen in a movie. And since he actually is a guitarist in Tenacious D that fits perfectly. So my question to you is, were you pleased with the movie or not. And explain with reasoning, dont just say "I didnt like it because Jack Black did a horrible job," say why he did a bad job.
I'm in that group that shakes their head at all the other people that are in religions. Whatever that is. No offense that is to anyone in some organized religion.
That would probably be if anything atheist, but Im not sure if you believe in a God/Gods or not so. But yea, but just out of curiosity why do you dislike religious beliefs?

Well with all this stuff going on with The Passion Of Christ and all this other stuff with anti-semitism(sp?) I thought I should see the variety of religions on OB. I am Catholic, and I am proud to be one. I just saw The Passion tonight as a matter of fact with a Jewish friend and he thought that it wasnt anti-semetic for the record, but hes also thinking of joining the boards. So my question the my fellow Otakus is: what religion are you? I feel that you should express your religion freely to show that you are proud to be a religion or part of one. And I know some of the people on the boards could possibly be non-denominational or atheist but I still would like to know what you think on some religions. And I want the moderators to moderate this as best they could if possible because I really dont want this thread to get discriminatory, not saying that people would, but if it should become a problem I would appreciate it closed. Also, if you have any prayers or creeds of some sort that express your religion as well, please post them. I in fact would like to post one and this is one that we say at my school everyday for Lenten praye: The Nicene Creed We Believe in one God, the Father the Almighty Maker of Heaven and Earth Of all that is, seen and unseen We Believe in the Lord, Jesus Christ, the only son of God Eternally begotten of the father God from God, Light from Light, True God from True God Begotten not made, one in being with the Father Through him all things were made For us men, and for our salvation He came down from heaven By the Power of the Holy Sprirt He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man, For our sake, he was crucified uner Pontius Pilate Suffered died and was buried On the 3rd day he rose again In fufillment of the Scriptures He Ascended into Heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father, He will come again in glory to judge the Living and the Dead, And his Kingdom will have no end We Believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord the Giver of Life Who proceeds with the Father and the Son With the Father and Son he is worshipped and glorified He has spoken through the Prophets We Believe in one holy catholic and epostolic church We acknowledge one baptism for the Forgiveness of sins, And the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen So yeah that is recited in mostly all catholic churches as well. So please express your faith here.

I only have a couple slang words, and they consist of: Snap: A way of saying "s**t" in front of the parents or teachers in our school, its catholic so very strict. Son: A way my friends and I say like "homie" or "brother"... lol, we just use that in a very sarcastic way though Hey you, you with the face: Used to refer to people who are really ugly and we dont know their names so we just say it to them to get their attention And finally, Amor: Used to refer to our girlfriends/boyfriends because we dont feel like saying their names because of our/my laziness.
