1. They were called the B-Sharps. The original lineup was Homer, Principal Skinner, Barney, and Chief Wiggum but Chief Wiggum was, I believe, replaced by Apu. When The Simpsons went to the dog races after Santa's Little Helper ran away, what were the names of the three dogs that were in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in the dog race?
2. For me, it's easily Tank! from Cowboy Bebop. The whole thing is just so darn catchy (I've had it stuck in my head for months now) and one of my dreams is to learn how to play that song. I'm a big fan of instrumental-only type music. Some of those songs can really get you going.
3. This is my first created RPG, so don't be too harsh with me if I'm asking for too much. In this RPG, I hope to get enough people to simulate a whole season (and maybe beyond) of WWE wrestling. I've spent a lot of time thinking this through, but I'm always open to help and suggestions; just PM me if you have a good idea. Each person that participates in this RPG will choose two wrestlers; one from RAW and one from Smackdown, unless they want to be a GM (either Eric Bischoff, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Stephanie McMahon or Vince McMahon). If you choose a GM, then that will be the only person that you will be able to choose since GMs have the most responsibility (which will be discussed later). Since not enough people have been joining, I will accept people being a GM along with a wrestler if they think they can handle the responsibility. After you choose your two wrestlers, you must write you sign-up sheet like so: Name: Height: Weight: Championships (optional): Championship name (number of times wrestler has won championship) (Note: Please limit championships to titles won at WWE/WWF, ECW and WCW) Set-Up Finisher (if applicable): Finisher: Status: (Heel or Face) Class: (Cruiserweight or Heavyweight) Style: (High-flier (Ex: RVD), Technical (Ex: Kurt Angle), Power (Ex: Kevin Nash), or Balanced (Ex: The Rock)) Bio: Wrestlers will be chosen on a first come, first serve basis. If a wrestler has been chosen, then they can't be chosen by another person. Read through every sign-up sheet to make sure that you aren't choosing a wrestler that's already been chosen. Wrestlers who are not currently employed by the WWE will only be chosen under two circumstances: 1) If every WWE wrestler is taken and we still have people who want to participate in this RPG or 2) If you can PM me and give a good reason as to why you should use a wrestler not currently employed by the WWE (Ex: You have a good story line for them), then I will consider it. If you want to play as a wrestler not employed by the WWE, they must have, at one point in their careers, wrestled for the WWE/WWF, ECW, or WCW. GM Responsibility: It is the responsibility of the GMs to set up the shows (RAW and Smackdown) and to set up Pay-Per-Views. The GMs will create matches and handle much of the storylines. However, since it is unfair to shoulder the GMs with the entire load, it is also the responsibility of the participants to help create storylines for your wrestlers. Communication (via AIM, YIM, PM and/or e-mail) with your GMs and fellow wrestlers is not only highly recommended but practically a neccessity if this RPG is to be used to its full potential. GMs will be asked to inform wrestlers when their matches will be and they will also tell people who are doing promos, locker room altercations, etc. when those will occur as well. GMs will also be asked to post a show schedule in this fashion to avoid confusion: Match (name wrestlers involved) Match Promo Match (as a result of promo) Promo Main Event And so on. This way, people will know when to post their part of the show. Also, even though GMs will decide the outcome of matches, it is up to the wrestlers to decide exactly how to arrive at that outcome. (Note: If somebody can think of a better way to post the matches to let people know when to post and keep the matches a surprise, please do not hesitate to PM me and inform me of it.) Multiple Wrestlers: If not enough people join up in this RPG, then it is possible for people to have more than two wrestlers, but those are the only circumstances for which this will be allowed unless someone quits the RPG. Switching Brands: Switching brands is allowed and is encouraged (if it's reasonable and one brand doesn't have too many wrestlers) because I like the way it shakes things up, heh. Trading Wrestlers: If you are unable to do anything more with your wrestler(s), it is suggested that you negotiate to trader for another wrestler, rather than abandon the RPG. If your wrestlers are abandoned, then they will be picked up by a person new to the RPG or another person(s) willing to take them on. Also, if you are going to quit the RPG, please PM me, so that I can announce that your wrestlers are available to take on. Titles: These will be the titles for each brand: RAW World Championship (currently held by Triple H) Intercontinental Championship (currently held by Booker T.) World Tag Team Championship (currently held by La Resistance) Women's Championship (currently held by Molly Holly) Hardcore Championship (brought back for RPG) Smackdown WWE Championship (currently held by Kurt Angle) U.S. Championship (currently held by Eddy Guerrero) WWE Tag Team Championship (currently held by Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin) Cruiserweight Championship (currently held by Rey Mysterio Jr.) Television Title (brought back for RPG) Whoever signs up as the holder of each title will also inherit that title. The GMs will create matches for the open titles and decide the #1 contenders. Note: If anybody else has anything that they feel should be added to this, feel free to PM me. I could use all the help I can get. And now, my sign-up sheet: RAW Name: "Y2J" Chris Jericho Height: 6'0" Weight: 231 lbs. Championships: World Champion (1), WCW Cruiserweight Champion (5), European Champion (1), Intercontinental Champion (4), WWE Tag Team Champion (2), WWE Champion (1), Television Champion (1), Hardcore Champion (1) Set-Up Finisher: Lionsault Finisher: The Walls of Jericho Status: Heel Class: Heavyweight Style: Balanced Bio: Y2J has done it all: he's held nearly ever major WWE title, he's one of the WWEs best wrestlers, he even has his own segment of RAW, the Highlight Reel. However, it's been a while since Chris has worn gold around his waist and he's eager to prove himself once again. Jericho is well known around wrestling circles as a charismatic wrestler and it shows whether he's with or against the fans. Smackdown! Name: Edge Height: 6'4" Weight: 220 lbs. Championships: WWE Tag Team Champion (7), Intercontinental Champion (4), WCW U.S. Champion (1) Set-Up Finisher: Spear Finisher: Edgecution Status: Face Class: Heavyweight Style: High-Flier Bio: Edge has been out for a while with injuries, but he's finally back! Before he was hurt, he was one of the top contenders for the WWE Title and now he's ready to finally take it. Edge is well known as one the WWEs greatest high-flier's (as shown when he was Christian's tag team partner) and he can easily back up that claim. And that's it. Remember, suggestions to improve this RPG are always welcome; just PM me if you have any questions. To make it easier to see who has which wrestler without having to check out every single sign-up sheet, I have added this list. Sign-Up List: mirai_torankusu - "Y2J" Chris Jericho, Eric Bischoff (GM of RAW), Edge and Chris Kanyon Shippo - Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton and Billy Kidman Shinobi1827 - Rob Van Dam and Brock Lesnar G/S/B Master - Booker T. and Ultimo Dragon Avalon - Stephanie McMahon (GM of Smackdown!) Schrat - The Rock and Kurt Angle oekakiotaku - Gail Kim and Rey Mysterio Jr. The Vampire: Ed - Kane and Matt Hardy Version 1.0 nightwingfan - Hurricane and Chris Benoit the spiegal - Theodore Long and Funaki Galvatron - Eddy Guerrero and Shawn Michaels GhostofSalvtore - Stone Cold Steve Austin (GM of RAW) and John Cena This is the official list so far, people! There are still plenty of spots available, so sign up to get the wrestlers you want! And I am still in dire need of GMs. I don't want to have to take up a GM spot in addition to my wrestlers (because I really don't want to give up Jericho and Edge), but I'll take up a GM spot if it comes to that. EDIT: 7/9/03 - Added Sign-Up List EDIT: 7/12/03 - First GM! Woo! EDIT: 7/20/03 - Two new members! *Ric Flair style* Woo! EDIT: 7/30/03 - Added some more rules and made an announcement. EDIT: 8/3/03 - Made another announcement and updated the Championship list. Also got rid of rule that said that a champion's first match had to be against the #1 Contender for the title.
4. Man, this thread got popular all of a sudden. Basically, I agree with Desbreko; if Nintendo wanted to remake a DKC game, they should've gone with the second one because it's easily the best in the series. The gameplay was improved, the levels were tougher and more fun to go through and the bosses were much better. I don't know if DKC 2 can keep up with today's standards, but I know that it would fare a lot better than DKC has.
5. Yeah, you can link up with the GBA and get minigames from Wario Ware, but I don't think that they're new minigames.
6.
Originally posted by Zeh Hmm, what I don't understand is why they don't make the thing about the WEAPONs more clear, don't you think that Square would at least know about the confusion?
I think that Square knows about it, but I'm not so sure that they'll do anything about it. I've never known Square to clear up confusion of their stories (well, outside of finding hints in the game, that is). I think they'd rather just let the people who are playing the game figure it out for themselves.
7.
Originally posted by Zeh It could of been the way you put the cart in, the SNES is like that sometimes.
Yeah, that's probably it. It only happened to me once, so that seems like a reasonable explanation. And I've never tried sketching Gau before...does it only work on the SNES version?
8. Actually, I ran into a similar glitch in FFVI for the SNES (nothing like this ever happened to me in the PS version). When I was at Kefka's Tower, I turned on my game and all of a sudden, I see that I have a ton of rare items and armor that I hadn't even heard of before. To this day, I have never been able to find out exactly why that glitch happened. EDIT: I forgot to add that the glitch also duplicated all of the items that I had and made 99 (the maximum) of each item.
Originally posted by Randleman omg. i am getting hooked on fanfics. i can't stop reading the good, novel-length ones. i am staying on the net from after i awake around 11 am to 3 am the next day reading fanfics. I've found lately that the quality of most fanfics is not very good. You can literally spend hours looking for one that's good to read.
10. Well, it looks like the WWE is taking a step in the right direction. I have to say that last night's RAW was the best RAW in a long time. There was suspense, great matches, a lot of RAWs underlooked talent was used, it was just a good show. First off, was the great match between Booker T. and Christian. I was expecting a good match out of Booker T. because he always has entertaining matches, but I was pleasantly surprised to see a great match out of Christian as well. Both superstars put on a great show and both were on the top of their games. Of course, I could be a little biased, because Booker T. is the new IC Champ, heh. Then, after the match, we get some suspense as we see Tommy Dreamer (who really needs to be used more) lying in a bloody mess in the locker room. I always enjoy locker room attacks, because it's fun trying to figure out who did it. The next match was a decent match between Rosey and The Hurricane in which Rosey won. Then, I was surprised to see someone stand up to Theodore Long and not take any of his crap when Rosey attacked him. Of course, he got the crap kicked out of him by Rodney Mack, but at least they're not making Rosey look like a wuss. Then, it was a great mixed tag match between Steven Richards and Victoria against Gail Kim and Val Venis. I was happy because Val was on RAW, but unfortunately, he didn't get to do his before-match speech. But the match was very good; Gail Kim was impressive, Val Venis was great as always, as was Victoria, and Steven Richards was bleh. I've never really liked Steven Richards. I'm not sure if this came before or after the mix-tag match but I'm putting it here. This was a pretty good Highlight Reel. Y2J was of course sucking up to the Canadian crowd, trying to get them against Shawn Michaels. What I liked was that Shawn was showing some flashes of his former self; you know, the cocky kid with no respect for the veterans. I always liked that persona of Shawn's. I've always thought that Shawn (along with HHH, The Rock, Y2J, etc.) always flourished in the position of the heel. Well, he didn't take any crap from the crowd and, of course, Jericho ducks Shawn's challenge so that he can challenge him in Hollywood, which should be an amazing match. Next was a lackluster match between Kevin Nash and Test. This match basically served to make Test look like a real jackass and failed to show off the skills that I know both Kevin and Test have. A real disappointment. Somewhere in here, Kane started meeting with Stone Cold and he told him that he attacked Tommy Dreamer and Rico (which I didn't mention) because he thought they were making fun of him. I thought that that was a good angle, because it gives Kane a good reason to let out his rage and become the bad-*** that I know he can be. I was impressed with Jericho because he fought one of the younger superstars, Mark Jindrak, who actually gave Jericho a pretty good fight. He looked very impressive against the veteran Jericho, and even though Jericho won, I hope the WWE can make a great superstar in the future. Then, we got a great women's match between Molly Holly and Trish Stratus. Trish had be attacked by Test earlier and had a hurt neck, which Molly capitalized on for the victory. Personally, I think Molly (and some of the other women) have been largly ignored lately, and I'm glad that Molly is going for the title instead of Trish, who they use all the time. Then, the main event, Randy Orton and Ric Flair vs. Bubba Ray Dudley and RVD. The story behind this is that Bubba Ray thought that Evolution attacked Tommy Dreamer and challenged them to a match with the partner of his choice (I'm glad he chose RVD). It was a pretty good match, but I don't think that it was main event material, even though RVD was in it. But it was still a good match. Lastly, Stone Cold brought out Kane who the fans gave a standing ovation. Then, Stone Cold commented that he thought that Kane chokeslamming Bischoff was "funny as hell," which Kane did not take too kindly too. He attacked Austin, who fought back. Glad to see Stone Cold get in a real fight instead of the random Stunners he's been handing out lately. After the early edge by Kane, Stone Cold fights back, bloodies Kane up with a chair then hits a Stunner on him. The next moment is the moment we know that the real Kane is back. A few seconds later, while Stone Cold is getting some beer, Kane sits up and chokeslams Austin. People, Kane is back and I couldn't be happier (well, if he had his mask, I'd be happier). Only one thing really disappointed me and that was the notable absence of both Goldberg and Triple H. Although, it was announced that Triple H would be on Sunday Night Heat, which really surprised me. I always thought that Trips only liked the spotlight on RAW. Guess he's out to prove everyone wrong. EDIT: Just watched the weekly flashback match on Confidential. This week it was Undertaker vs. Yokozuna in their Casket Match from Survivor Series '94. How I long for the days when the Undertaker really was an undertaker, when he was cool, when he put effort into his matches, and when his music totally ruled. Yep, I'm one of the people who still thinks that the Undertaker's old music was one of the coolest (if not the coolest) bits of entrance music ever (right up there with Stone Cold Steve Austin and HBK). I'm really started to get tired of this biker-bullcrap that the WWE has been pulling with The Undertaker for God knows how long. When The Undertaker was actually an undertaker, he was THE FREAKING MAN! He had the coolest entrance music, he was the coolest looking wrestler, he had the best gimmick, he was a big, tough bad-***, he was nigh-unbeatable, and he took part in some of the greatest matches in the history of the WWE! Now, what is he? He hasn't been in the title hunt for ages, he's best known for riding a motorcycle to the ring and he's fighting John Cena (nothing against John Cena) at Vengance to prove who's the better veteran! If I were the WWE, I'd have John Cena beat the crap out of The Undertaker, maybe fake an injury to get him out of Smackdown! for a couple of weeks, and over those couple of weeks his character will realize that he needs to go back to being the dead man, The Undertaker. That would surely give Smackdown! the jolt that it needs. Hell, I'd start watching Smackdown! with a lot more enthusiasm if that happened.
11. My record is about 9 hours (not including bathroom breaks, of course) browsing OB and reading lots of fan fiction and regular fiction. But I stay on for about 5-6 hours a day doing that and writing a bunch of stuff. Ah, the power of the computer.
12. This game has been out for a little bit so I decided to make a thread about it. There are several impressive and disappointing things about Wario World. The most disappointing is the length of the game. It's far too short for a console game; I beat it in about 5 hours. But it's a pretty good five hours. The levels are nicely designed and fun to go through. And while the first world is fairly easy, the other levels are no cakewalk. And the boss battles are quite fun to beat. And, luckily, they let you go back to them if you want to fight them again. Any other thoughts?
13. This is just terrible. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and I hope that you will be able to cope with a situation that no decent parent should ever have to go through. At least, your child is in a better place watching over you, and giving you the strength to get through this tragedy.
14. My dad has this really annoying habit of finding his favorite quote from a movie and repeating it endlessly over and over again. It gets very annoying. My mom doesn't really do anything that annoying.
15. Heh, I used to be like that, then you meet hardcore anime fans who know everything about the Japanese, English, Spanish, etc. versions of their favorite anime and it humbles you quite quickly.
16. Heh, this looks pretty cool. Strength: 18 Speed: 24 Endurance: 20 Skill: 20 Inteligence: 18 Name: Vincent "Bullet" Jones (kinda dorky name, but I'm not good with names) Height (just thought I'd add it in): 6'4'' Weight: 220 lbs. Country: United States. Race: Mixed racial background (like myself, heh) Gender: Male Trademark: Twist of Fate neckbreaker (a backwards Twist of Fate) Finisher: The Silver Bullet (basically a combonation F5/Diamond Cutter (or RKO if you're a more recent fan of the WWE). He basically sets it up like an F5, but instead of slamming his opponent, he transitions into a Diamond Cutter.) Status: Middle but tends to lean over to the good side slightly. Bio: Vincent is a high-flying athlete who's been a fan of wrestling for a long time. Now, he finally has a chance to prove himself in the ring.He fights with the Cruiserweights most often, but has the potential to fight with the Heavyweights. Description: Short black hair and dark, tanned skin. He has the lean, muscular body that most Cruiserweights have. His ring attire is like that of Sting (in his Crow persona, of course), except that he wears a black shirt in the ring, he doesn't have face paint and he also wears sunglasses to the ring.
17. Well, I was searching for a good site to find some Cowboy Bebop pictures to put on a cover sheet for my computer class. There was a link to TheOtaku.com at Yahoo, so I decided to check it out. A few days later, I decided to register for the forums and I haven't been able to leave since. Not that I wanted to lol.
18. Actually, I have Soulblade sitting in front of me right now. I enjoyed it a little, but I thought it got too repetitive after a while. I never really liked the PlayStation as a fighting game system. Come to think of it, I never liked any of the fighting games on PlayStation very much (especially the ones that had better versions for other systems).
19. The only reasons I wouldn't reply to a topic is if it didn't interest me or if I didn't have anything new to add to the discussion. But I did reply to this topic, so I guess that doesn't happen all the time lol.
20. There are plenty of people that I admire and respect, but I haven't been on OB long enough to develop a crush. But I am 17 years old, so it's gotta happen someday, right?
21.
Originally posted by Razzamataz hey mirai...you think YOU'RE behind the times?...I've never played the original Soul Calibur, nor did I hear about Soul Calibur 2 until recently, however from what I've seen and heard it appears to be a promising game.
I've only played the arcade version of Soul Calibur and I've only seen videos of Soul Calibur 2 (I still haven't been able to pick up the GameCube demo disc with SC2 on it). But I'm glad to hear that I've got people who heard the news even later than I did lol.
22. Man, this compilation disc sounds great. I played a lot of those games religiously back in the day. Especially Smash TV. Now that was an action game. And those extras sound pretty cool too. It's always interesting to get some background on the games you love.
23. I've been to Orlando a couple of times. It does rain a lot, but it's not too bad (at least, it wasn't during the time I was there). Overall, Orlando's a pretty fun place to go and the weather (even with the rain) is very nice. Reminds me of a rainy San Diego; nice and pleasant.
24. It's been a while since I've played Power Stone 2, but I remember most of the levels. That pirate ship level does exist and it's also the one with the crazy cannons firing lasers at you the entire level. I also liked the level with the Raiders of the Lost Ark boulder. It's always fun to trip people up and get them run over by the boulder lol. That restaurant level sounds pretty cool. Bar fights are always fun (er, in video games and movies, that is). Both Power Stones were really known for having some very inventive levels to fight in. It's a shame that a lot of people ignored them because it was on the Dreamcast. If I were Capcom, I'd try to revitalize the series and capitalize on the success of Smash Bros.
25. I'm going to my Uncle's house for a bbq. Should be pretty fun; I always have a good time at his house. But tomorrow will be better because I'm going to the mall and finally spending the money that I have dilligently saved up. The economy needs all the activity it can get.
