1. http://pocket.ign.com/articles/450/450207p1.html The most significant of the news is the controller configuration, which is now confirmed to consist of the four face buttons we all know and love (triangle, circle, cross, and square), a digital directional pad, two shoulder buttons (left and right), start and select buttons, and one analog joystick. The absence of a second analog stick implies that a Dreamcast-like controller setup may be used for first-person games, but only time will tell. I am skeptical until I see this thing in action. Many have tried to topple the Game Boy's supremacy as king of the handhelds; all have pretty much failed/short-lived (Neo Geo Pocket, Game Gear, etc.). But, if anyone can pull it out, it is Sony. Price + launch titles are absolutely vital to the PSP's lifespan. I mean, look at the (overpriced) N-Gage. The launch games were lackluster and the actual device ($300/$400?) is just not that great.
 2. For starters, you need to relax about the grades. Here is some advice my religion teacher (Mr. Dufficy) gave to me my sophomore year in high school: If you know you did a good job on your work, if you know that you put effort into your work, if you know that what you did was quality, then there is no reason to worry about your grades. Honestly, I was pretty similar to your mindset 3 years ago. I would still eat though (the stomach wants what it wants) and sleep and all, but I would be very nervous and anxious for my report card and mid-quarter reports. But, every time (well, not EVERY time; about 98% of the time) I would have an A or B. After my teacher gave me that advice, my grades remained high, but a large amount of stress was lifted from my shoulders. High school is tough enough; your grades will remain high as long as you do good work. As for the teacher, it does seem odd that you have a C even though you did participate and (I assume) did all of your work. As it was recommended, talk to teacher and find out what caused the given grade. Here is some more advice: The vast majority of teachers are not offended if you ask them about your grade and/or if you find a mistake/prove a point in the procedures used in issuing a grade. Find out what you did well and what you lack in order to improve your grade. Afterward, if you feel you have done everything that teacher has asked of you, kindly and calmly (do NOT blow up) explain your position and talk it over. Courtesy, respect, and communication sure go a long way. ;)
 3.
it took over a year to make Reloaded... now 4 or 5 months later the 3rd 1 is coming out... how much work did they put on this??
I believe they were done in sequence for over two years now. So, they went from Reloaded straight into the filiming process of Revolutions. It was basically one big movie broken down into 2 sequels to "The Matrix." I was not thrilled by Reloaded, but it was not that bad either. I find it hard for middle movies to succeed because there is no real beginning and no real end - it just picks you up then lets you down. But, from the trailer, Revolutions looks [enter drooling, eye-popping emoticon]. I cannot WAIT for this movie to hit theatres.

I guess the PS2 does have some untapped juice to rock some awesome looking games (assuming those are all in-game)!
 5.
Originally posted by Megumi Yes, I believe there are more than one god, God himself commanded us not to worship any other gods, meaning that there are others.
I thought it was not to worship false idols? And even if it definitively stated "other gods", that does not mean other gods existed, rather, people's worship in these false idols/gods (idolatry) is strictly and bluntly against God's will.
I'm a christian myself, but the problem is their is no reason to spread the gospel. people don't need to hear a story, of jesus, jesus's main idea was to show people willing to learn.
If I recall correctly to high school religion classes, Jesus' main message was a couple of things, really - Love and compassion. Love thy enemy. Love your parents. Love everyone as a member of your family. Help others as if they were one of your family. Help others through thick and thin. Open your heart to the most needful on the planet. You know, those sort of things. Oh, and if there were no need to spread the Gospel, why was it explicitly written out to do so (as Justin pointed out)? The Apostles risked their lives time and time again to spread the Word. Why? Guidance. Compassion. Love. From a Christian standpoint, God is the beginning and the end. The Apostles were (and still are, through their words) preparing the world for the day of Jesus' return, so that we may be ready to face Judgment and become one with the Lord for eternity, or forever be damned to Hell. Of course, this is assuming you believe in that theology. If not, then so be it. I am not here to condone nor condemn you. And neither should anyone else here or, for that matter, anywhere. You will not find me force feeding individuals scripture. ...Let he who is without sin cast the first stone...
 6.
Originally posted by Cyke While everything about the game looks awesome, I do have one major concern: the controls. The shoulder buttons from the original MGS and MGS2 were crucial in accurately controlling the functions of the character. The Xbox version of Substance shows what I'm worried about, as the switch to first-person view becomes an annoyance when used with the same thumbstick that controls movement. I hope Silicon Knights has found a way to make the controls comfortable and second nature for the problematic GC controller.
http://cubemedia.ign.com/cube/image/mgstwinsnakes_051403_gcn_in02.jpg I have had very minimal experience with the GC controller (I only have a PS2, but I will have a GC in a few weeks), but from what I see, it "fits" very nicely into the easily navigable control system a lá the PS2. The only thing I may have a problem with is the R and Z buttons. I need to actually test it out but it seems they are very close. I can imagine trying to go into FPS mode and ending up un-equipping my weapon!
 7.
If he was all powerful, ho come it took him 7 days to finish the world? Couldn't HE have said,' World,be.' and it would have been, right? That still confuses and amuses me.
You assume 7 days is 7 days in our self-established time. 7 days to God could have been a blink of His eye for all we understand. Truth is, it is a story. The story of creation. Is it 100% accurate? We will never know. All Christians can do is have faith in God, and that His word is Law.
Just a small question on that... How, in a very formal way, would you be "saved" from something created by one man who was bored, wrote a book, someone picked it up and considered it a "holy manuscript," then made a religion of it?
The Bible was far from being written by one person. Take a look at the book titles - Job, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, etc. Many are named for the people who were being written about or had a hand in the writing itself. Oh, and please, for future reference, Jesus DID live. Jesus the man did live in ~30 A.D. Whether or not you believe Jesus the Savior existed/exists is an entirely different concept. Back on topic, I am not going to hold one religion/belief under the microscope and claim its "purity" or "validity." To each his own. I am not the most die-hard Catholic, but many things have stuck with me after 3 years of religion classes in high school (and yes, we were taught about the other world religions, too - Buddhism, Judaism, Shintoism, Hinduism, Islam, etc.). If Wiccans or Hindu's or Buddhists or Agnostic want to believe that way, then fine. I cannot take a spear to you and state, "You are a traitor to [enter deity] and you shall suffer." What I CAN do is offer some kind words of wisdom and advice, nothing more, nothing less.
 8.
Originally posted by craig8429 I've heard alot of the game, but I can't say I heard it being online. Also they are saying your not snake your big boss who is identical to snake.....
The online portion is seperate from MGS3. It is tentatively titled, "Metal Gear Online." According to Mr. Kojima, it is ready to ship today, but he wants to make it "unique" in the online world. As for the main character's identity...all clues point to
Big Boss
, but you never know. Mr. Kojima is infamous in changing things up and ushering your mind to think a certain way... ;)
 9. Heh, I know why - because the game takes place in the
1960's, thus the James Bond-like song.
That is actually the ECTS trailer as a direct feed. There was much speculation that there would be a special "extended" version for TGS, but that is not true. I was expecting a line of dialogue or something. *Sighs* Onto E3 2004. It is going to be a LOONG 9 months...:( As for the trailer itself, I was impressed. The environments are just so vast. "Snake" looks frickin' awesome. Everything looks really textured, and detail is not spared (the blades of grass, man, the blades of grass!). November 2004 is so far away... *Sobs in a corner*
 10. I have a TI-83+ and have: - BaseBall - Falldown - Galaxian - Pac-Man - R-Type - UncleWorm I LOVED Tetris, but the damn thing would cause a crash and reset my calculator, causing some games to be lost (miraculously, Pac-Man survived each crash). These (and other) games allowed for my successful passing of Chemistry. Without these games, I would have died of sheer boredom. *Shivers at the thought of Chemistry* Anyway, there are a bunch of sites where you can download games to your calculator. The USB line is sold separately for about $10, maybe more, and it allows for PC downloads. I think it comes with the silver edition of the TI-83+...
 11.
MGS3 might get one as well, but it might be the same one from ECTS
Confirmed. It should be uploaded to the MGS3 Konami website later tonight since it is being unveiled on the 27th in Tokyo (~3 PM over there). As for the new MGS: TTS movie...*drools a little* From the E3 build, which was absolutely horrid (Liquid looked like a Mr. Potato Head) to the TGS version is a complete 180 turn for the better. The fight scenes are pure bliss, the graphics have been substantially increased, and subtle touches (snowflakes on the binoculars; Meryl/Snake skirmish) are spectacular. This is the title that will warrant me buying a GC (there are other titles I want, but this is the title, even though I have the PS1 version). All in all, I can stand to wait to wait for the game longer as long as the end result supersedes what it is now. I have too many titles to buy as is, so it coming out later will allow for the funds to replenish. ;)
 12. Yes! Finally! Now I can go ahead and purchase MGS: TTS for $40 and RE4 (whenever that comes out). I did not like any of the games (well, RE0, but, I think it is $20 now) that came with the offer (SF:A and MP4 are not my thing...Metroid Prime? *Shrugs*), and I have been eyeing MGS: TTS since its annoucement, so this is a good day for me.
 13. Weswood College of Technology out in Schiller Park, IL. Small place with less than 1,000 students, and I enjoy it very much. I spent half an hour arguing with my friend about government conspriacies and aliens...do not ask... I recently started my first term in August and am going non-stop until Jan./Feb. 2005. 17 month program in Computer Programming and Software Development.
 14. Spoiler Alert! Do not click on this link to the synopsis if you do not want to learn about RE2's plot and such. http://www.sonypictures.com/movies/residentevilapocalypse/synopsis.html Bah...why must they intertwine
RE2 and RE3
?
CARLOS OLIVIERA - RE3 - A part of Umbrella's tactical force, not STARS NICHOLAI - RE3 - A part of Umbrella's tactical force, not STARS
I liked the trailer, though. It reminded me a lot of the TV/computer part in the first half of RE3. Oh, and
Nemesis
is going to be in the movie (at least according to the link). RE1 was not that bad. A lot better than most game-to-movies out there (SMB, MK:A, TR).
 15. I read an article over on IGN that commented on how it could topple Halo and what not. Well, it may be able to do it if the SP holds up, but, the fact of the matter is Halo over XBox Live is king in the MP world. Unless the online service for the PS2 can compete with XBox Live, then Killzone will not beat out Halo, nor Half-Life 2 for the PC. Other than that, I think it is a very impressive looking game, especially because of the PS2's limited power (with respect to GC and XBox). So, if it runs well, plays well, and sucks me in, you will have a guaranteed purchaser. ;)
 16. www.machoman.com - Link to his website. Wait for the pop-up screen and then click one of the two songs in the lower right hand corner. Good stuff...:p
 17. I have to admit that after listening to the "Macho Mix" on his website, I liked the beats he is on. Sure, he may suck terribly, but, the music his crappy voice is put to is really kickin'. I hope someone with way better lyrics comes on the track for a remix or solo version. The funny thing is I heard his song "Be a Man" on a local radio station a few days ago. Guess it really IS a big "thing" after all... *Ponders how the sales will look* :P
 18. Gahx. All shall bow before the power of Gahx. All shall soon learn the meaning of Gahx. All shall feverishly listen to the Gahx. ... Or you will think I am weird for using the word "Gahx." :p It is actually something my friend made up, which I am now training under (check out the sig for the whole story). I also have the habit of yelling "G-UNIT!" no matter which song is on. Heck, I made it all suave and slow to some slow songs. Yes, I am weird... ;)
 19. It is a cartoon. It has no reasoning at all other than to try and scrape a few laughs out of Homer doing something stupid. So, of course the baby is going to be the most intelligent person on the show. :p Smarter than Professor Frink? Maybe... ;)
 20.
Originally posted by DeathBug The reality is, the rest of the nation instantly thinks less of people who wear/display the flag, and we do ourselves a disservice by encouraging it.
Can you provide a source that backs up this statement? I would like to see this supposed 100% finding that says that everyone thinks badly or poorly of someone with the Confederate flag. I, for one, do not. Why? I know the history. I know both sides. I respect their right to wear what they want as long as it does not harm me. Also, trying to convince people with your opinion's is not helping your argument. It makes it seems as if you are on some divine quest to right the wrongs of the past or something...
 21.
Originally posted by DeathBug the Confederate flag has been used by the Ku KLux Klan since its wretched conception 160 years ago.
And like I said, you seem to have more of a problem with the groups waving the flag around, rather than the flag itself. Is the South massively encompassed by the KKK or any other negative, idiotic groups? No. But, for argument's sake, why not take down the U.S. flag? Heck, after all, after what was done to Native Americans, the U.S. flag should not represent the nation. But, could it be possible, that the U.S. flag has, just as the Confederate flag, transcended its past mistakes and now represents something more positive? In my humble opinion, yes.
 22.
Originally posted by Harry What are you talking about? The Confederate flag doesn't symbolize freedom at all. The confederacy had nothing to do with freedom in the slightest. The freedom to keep on enslaving people? The freedom to keep the aristocratic system they had so they can keep the poor poor? To say it symbolizes freedom is laughable at best
Where did I say that it represented freedom? In my first point, I was referring to the U.S. flag. Sorry, I forgot to add that in there. In my second point I was comparing how symbols change over time. The peace symbol was an anti-war symbol, but, more or less, it is seen as a simple "peace" symbol nowadays. The Confederate flag now represents a Southern spirit, whereas it used to represent slavery and racism.
 23.
Originally posted by DeathBug I'm not saying that the Confederate Soldiers weren't brave or noble in their own right, but a flag represents political ideals, not the people who uphold them.
A flag represents nothing more than political ideals, not the people who died defending the flag? Not the people who cherish the freedoms represented by the flag? Not the people who have long saluted the flag because of what it means - a nation, united by the people, for the people, in the name of equality and rights? And, yet, you want the Confederate flag taken down? But besides all of that, it seems you have a problem with the people using the flag rather than the flag itself. The flag is nothing more of a symbol. In this case, this flag has evolved from rebellion and slavery, to represent a symbol of the South. It is no different than the peace symbol, which, was used in rebellion of war, yet, today, it simply means "Peace." Things change. A flag is a thing. Therefore, it is subject to change.
 24. I like this song...the first 10,000 times the radio stations around here played it (they always play things out). But, yeah, I first heard of the song from Lil' Jon's website and the hook was on a loop. A month later, I turn on MTV2 and hear it again and was like, "Why does that sound familiar?" I remembered and thought, "Sweet! This song rocks!" Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz make some notoriously infectious beats that make you jump around like a maniac
("Bia Bia", "I Don't Give A...", "Play No Game")
. It is good to have a bunch of guys just gather around and get you all riled up. Have not had that much pumpin' rap since "Air Force Ones." :P
 25. *The Confederate Flag is the flag of traitors, who tried to back out of a binding Union.* And why was that? Do you think they just hopped up one day and said, "You know, this Union thing is whack"? Look at the economical ramifications that the expanding West and business North had on the South. The South's main "attractions" were cotton and, for the most part, tobacco. That is it. The West provided agricultural advances like no other and the North was the business central of the entire nation. Also, take a look at the number of railroads built pre-1862. Most ran from the West/MidWest/ and North. The South had very few railroads. My point is that the South was backed into a corner and, like anything that is overpowered yet desperate, the South lashed out. Not to say progress is a bad thing, but it was for the South. *The South lost the war because their economy never could sustain itself.* Obviously, that is a historical fact. So what is your point? How does this make proud Southerners today "wrong"? *The Confederacy was a political step backwards, run along the same principles as the Articles of Confederation. The Articles were a failure, and everyone knew it; who's bright idea was it that just because it failed horribly last time, it might work this time during a war?* So, because the Confederacy wanted to try something different, even if it did not work, this makes them bad? Hmm...I seem to recall a nation doing that in 1776 and into the 1780's... *Do I even need to mention slavery?* Though I do not condone slavery in any way, shape or form, you do know that Northerners had slaves too, right? There was no dotted line (well, the Missouri Compromise, but was later trashed by another document) that made a barrier of slaves to be limited to the South. It was just nowhere as near as widespread in the North as it was in the South. Oh, and just for future reference, I live in the MidWest (IL) and have all my life. I merely offer these points as a look on the other side of the fence. History is not as black and white as it may present itself.
