[COLOR=#004a6f]I hope this thread isn't considered too spammy, but I thought it would be nice to have a thread where people can ask others for the names of certain songs or tunes they're looking for. We've all in our past, heard familiar songs and tunes, and never found out their names. If you are looking for a certain song or tune, you can describe what it sounds like, or where you've heard it before. Perhaps you can make a small recording of yourself humming it or playing a bit of the notes on an instrument, or perhaps, you can write down the a bit of the actual score, and scan it o your computer, or provide a midi file you make yourself. I have a few pieces of my own I'd like to find, but I have to wait to get home so I can make a small midi of the tunes I remember. If you know the name of a song someone is asking for, make sure to quote their request so things don't get too confusing. And to make this thread less spammy, you can explain why you like these tunes so much and what makes them so memorable to you.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#004a6f]Well, I don't have standardized tests because I'm in University, but I do have killer exams! Yes, I'm stressed to the max. As soon as one exam season finishes, you get a few days rest and have to start preparing fot the next exam season! I have my last midterm tommorow, and my finals are spread out in april.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#004a6f]My mom pierced my ears when I was 8 months old, but I hardly wear earings. I wore them alot when I was 10, but my ears were always getting infections. I guess I have sensitive skin. My sister had her ears pieced when she was sixth months, and she wore gold stud earings, which she [B]never took off[/B] till she was twelve. I don't like piercings in general, because it's having rings or pieces of metal in your skin that can get caught on something, and hence your skin will get ripped (ouch). Ears just don't seem quite as sensitive as the rest of the body, so I'd say stick to ear piercing.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#004a6f]Well, I got the kitty picture for my sig, when I was doing a google search of cat pictures. When I saw this pictures I instantly fell in love with it. It was perfect for my username, which happens to be the name of nifty cat in a popular french canadian children's book. Since the can is smiling, I decided to go with a saying that has to do with smiles, and hence, I used "a smile is a curve that sets things straight."[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#004a6f]I haven't eaten many starange foods, and a lot of these strange foods are already part of my culture, so they would just be strange for non arabs. The starngest food I'd say I've had is pickled okra. My mom pickles all sorts of vegetables (pickled turnips rock!), but when she bought pickled okra I nearly puked when I tried it. I hate that vegetable in general, and one arab dish my whole family but me loves a stew made with okra. Okra suck, no matter how you prepare it. Weird foods that are already part of my culture is grape leaf rolls (really good, you should try it sometime), and a stew made with the leaves of a plant called moulokhiyya. Although both dishes taste pretty good, I often tell my mom how strange it is for us to spend so much time and effort on dishes that contain [B]leaves[/B] of all things, and to make matter worse, they're the kind you simply can't digest and obtain nutritional value from :animestun. Oh well. Other strange foods I have had include sea weed (which has barely any flavor, but you can smell fish in the back of your mouth). I've also tried deer. Deer tastes alot like more like liver than meat, so I didn't enjoy it very much. I'd though I'd also share my parents weird food habits because when I told my friend this she totaly freaked out ("your parents SNACK on jalepeno peppers?"). That's right. My mom and dad like to eat jalepeno peppers along with their meals. They tell me it improves their appetite. I don't know how anyone can stand eating those, especially if they're not cut up into small pieces and cooked. It's really wierd sometimes. I make my mom a cheese sandwich with a cup of tea (which is a rather tastey combination), and she asks for a jalepeno.[/COLOR]

"Imasu", used for animate objects, and "arimasu", used for inanimate objects, are indeed used to describe the existance of things, so basically they mean "there is" or "there are". You use them in the case "How many cats are there?" or "there is a cat over there". "Neko wa doko desu ka?" means "Where is the cat?", while "neko wa doko imasu ka?" actually makes no sense I believe. You could say: "neko wa koko/soko/asoko ni imasu ka?" which would mean: "Is there a cat here/there/over there?"[/COLOR]

Some animes are hard to come by in their original japanese version, and have been dubbed in other countries such as germany, france, the netherlands, and so on. I've created new ones with a few additions. Anyway, I'm wondering what your opinions are of them. Are they too..... much? Are the easier to follow then the old ones, or do they make things more complicated? If you were trying to learn japanese, which ones would you choose, the new ones, or the old ones? Or is there anything, I should add?
