[i]This is just crazy why did I say yes?[/i] Her breathing was ragged in her throat as she ran down the sidewalk, heading for her apartment and the dusty backpack right inside the door. There were a hundred million apologies running through her head. [i]Maybe they'll have left...[/i] She finally turned the corner to her street, only to see - no car. She breathed a quick sigh of relief, charging up the stairs in two leaps and fumbling to unlock the door and scoop up the bag, insane relief coursing through her veins - though she couldn't tell whether it should be considered relief that the car hadn't been there yet - or that, perhaps, it had already left. Someone tapped her shoulder and she started, spinning around and jumping back, eyes wide. "Miss Grant?" It was a tall man in an expensive suit. He smiled at her, politely. Her heart slowed down as she nodded. "That's me..." The man waved out the open front door. There was a limo parked at the curb, idling. "We're your ride." "...Oh. Right." --- The ride didn't take as long as she'd thought it would. She was only relieved she started in Austrailia - being on a plane with this strange anticipating fear would have been a nightmare. She slept most of the way there, in between bouts of "staring out the window" and "staring at the driver's head". Her few half-hearted attempts at conversation had been met with silence. She hadn't tried again. The ferry ride was much of the same: polite silence. It was a relief to be off the boat, out of cars, away from any vehicle...but she stared at the people gathering near to the entrance, and bit her lip. [i]This[/i] was why she hated being late. "Um. [COLOR=DarkOrange][SIZE=1]There was an incident near where I live in Lancaster Pennsylvania not too long ago...a gunman went on a rampage in an Amish schoolhouse, let all the boys and adults go and then shot a bunch of little girls. It was the freakiest thing to happen around here, because, well...the Amish are pacifists. You don't [i]hear[/i] about people hurting them. And the thing that made it the worst to hear about was they didn't even have phones to call the police: the boys had to go running to find a house with electricity. I don't like to hear about people dying, period, but this was one of those cases where my first instinct was "GOOD" when I heard the gunman had died. =\[/SIZE][/COLOR]

I'm a new fan - learned everything I know about this show in the last month thanks to the library finally wising up and getting [i]current[/i] shows on DVD. So...yeah. I marathoned through the first two seasons in the space of two weeks, and now I'm being forced to wait, just like the rest of you poor people who have had to wait since...what, October? Anyways. He'd ben ignored - giving him more time to try and figure out why a man who had once terrified an entire city would go ... domestic. Everything about him now screamed success, but tame, controlled, legal sucess...until he folded his hands on the table, fingers glinting with the weapons that gave him his name. Fighting claws, brass knuckes on steroids, long, sharp blades that looked like a combination of Wolverine and Bat'leth, to quote pop culture. The Ripper's trademarks. Charles shifted further away - he was fast with those things, and he knew how to kill. I'm almost constantly thinking about it, whether its for assignments, RPs or my novel(s?) in progress. I carry notebooks with me constantly, and have been known to have full-freak-out-almost-panic attacks when I lose them. I like the puzzle of trying to get [i]exactly[/i] what I'm thinking onto paper in such a way that everyone who reads knows exactly what I want them to 'see'. Plus it's fun to take a character and give them a basic personality, create a mess and throw them into it, just to see how they react. Do they break the mess, or does the mess break them? How does either option show on the character? And so forth. It's fun! Or I'm just a geeky sadist. Your choice. [b]What do you think your best personality trait would be?[/b] My ability to listen and encourage, I think. I don't like people being sad, and if I can I will listen, pester, poke and basically make an idiot of myself trying to figure out how to help the person being sad feel better.
