1. go Is supposed to be an excellent test of wit and intelligence, but I have not seen any form of it over here. Nintendo never released it on the NES or SNES, Yamauchi said "it was too irritating, and lacked the cunning of a human player." He was an 8th-Dan player, which meant he was very good indeed.
2. I don't think that anyone will be able to fully replace Hiroshi Yamauchi, he was a fantastic president of Nintendo. Some facts about him: 1. He has only ever played 1 computer game, an electronic version of a popular Japanese strategy board game called go (roughly translated) 2. He never wanted to become President of Nintendo after his father, he ran away but came back to adhere to his fathers wishes. 3. His son-in-law founded Nintendo of America 4. He only barely chose Sigeru Miyamoto (Western Countries call him Shigeru but his name is not spelt with a h) above someone else and sent him to work in Nintendo's R&D department, where he was not wanted, but Hiroshi said he had an "active imagination and some innovative ideas for games." Long live Mr Yamauchi, he has done a fantastic job at Nintendo.
3. New Buu saga episodes are going to be shown soon, maybe late in July or early August, CN are still waiting for some episodes to be dubbed by the Canadian company AB.
4.
Originally posted by gokents hey, dont start with the IRA, they have honored a seise fire (sp?) for the last 8 years, none the less, most of their targets were political or military. the al queda that trained, by the hundreds, in afghanistan were just plan killers. only the strike on the pentagon was against a goverment institution, the wtc, thats just innocents. and unfortunatly, radical hardline muslims are not going to stop if we do and their not going to honor any kind of cease fire.
I'm sorry, but I have to completely disagree with your viewpoint. A couple of years ago, the IRA made a major bombing of a large business tower in London, killing (I can't remember the exact number) maybe hundreds of innocent people. Yes, they did adhere to the cease fire for a while, but some other splinter groups of the IRA still carried out bombings along with the IRA themselves. The IRA agreed to a cease fire because they were trying to solve the problem without violence. Al-Qaeda is no different to the IRA, they just work in a different way and have committed different kinds of terrorist attacks, mainly targeted at America. The IRA have killed as many, if not more people than the Al-Qaeda terrorist group, and I doubt many people would know who the Al-Qaeda or Osama Bin Laden were if the World Trade Centre attacks did not occur
5. I hate to butt in late with my own viewpoint, but I have been away recently. I doubt highly that America would have intervened in Afghanistan if the World Trade Centre hadn't been attacked. The same applies to this "war on terrorism". I view this as an excuse to start unnecessary fighting with countries that are currently posing no real threat to America. Within Northern Ireland lies the IRA- A rather formidable terrorist group who have bombed buildings and killed a lot of people over the years, yet America are not going to bomb Northern Ireland to pieces because a few hundred (maybe thousand) terrorists live there. I can agree that George Bush wanted to strike back at the Taliban, as any country's leader/s probably would have wanted to do. But he has taken this all too far and blown it out of proportion, increasing the US military funds by billions of dollars just to "fight global terrorism".
6. Yes I also got Dragon, which is quite cool. I love Dragons, nice test Aries.
7. According to Nintendo and Microsoft they have both dropped their console prices yet again. Supposedly the Gamecube price is £109 and the XBox price is £132. (this will probably be rounded off if this is true) If this is true, it shows that Nintendo really know how to compete, and they are not making the same mistakes as they did with the N64
8. I thought square would do this, FF11 being an almost completely online game, PCs handle ping and such things better, but it's a good move for square, this will certainly draw in a lot of PC gamers who don't have PS2s or don't want to shell out for one.
9. If you watch the episode where 18 gets the bomb taken out of her body, you see a flash of 17 but it looks very much like 18.

E3!

My God, Miyamoto has really done it this time, look at that! What an amazing display of the pure power of the gamecube and the genius of Miyamoto, that man should get insurance for his brain.
11. Well I don't know, it didn't happen in the series so it's hard to tell, but no one can go super saiya-jin level 3 but Goku, so I doubt anyones power would be able to match his, making the fusion impossible
12. Yes, when I get a new PC (if ever), I shall call it Japanese chef and it shall slice and dice your sushi! *comes out of corner and laughs, realises that he has no money to buy a PC, goes back to crying*
13. *clears throat* NOOOOOOOOOO! I want broadband but the prices are so high in England and I'm only 15! I'm gonna go cry now...
14. The price drop in the UK was £58 pounds before launch, bringing the price down to £122 (sold by shops at £130). A co-operative Zelda game? I'm interested to see how they set out the game to accomodate for 2 players...
15. It's rather difficult to point out exactly where they conincide with the series, but I also suggest just watching them and finding out for yourself.
16. Well at the moment DBZ is incredibly popular so it is easy to get material for music videos, but a lot of sites do music videos on anime series/movies (especially Akira)
17. If you live in England and you watch MTV you may have seen clips from the movie during Videoclash live when it first started, it had Roshi and everyone fighting and it was very, very shoddy.
18. I agree, just be yourself. Everyone get's nervous in that kind of situation, but as long as you relax you'll forget why you were nervous in the first place
19. You can get a Panasonic GC over here in the UK through import shops, mail order and over the net, although they are very pricey, as Nintendo/Panasonic did not intend for it to be released here.
20. Oh dear, I just saw the DBZ episode today and guess what England have lost? Funimations edited episodes. I'm talking about the episodes that the guys at Funimation gave a touch-up because the art was a little dated. We've now lost the better animation episodes. Please take this moment to cry. (I know this is a little off topic but there have already been 2 image quality threads, I'd rather not clutter.)
21. The Game-Gear vs Game Boy war didn't last long, since the GB had sold shedloads before GG was even released, and yes, the GG sucked up the battery power faster than you could put them in, but about 2 months after release they began to include an adaptor with it, but that obviously eliminated the idea of taking it everywhere, which is the main point of the market.
22. Uh... Weird topic but what the heck. I would plant an apple tree, so I would get really nice apples... Ahem or something that I would be able to climb and sit in as the sun set, something like that.
23. Unless you watched the late night run it was edited. Vegeta went to chop Trunks and a bright light flashed and it cut to someone else or another view, it never the showed the actual moment when Vegeta hit Trunks or Goten. Thats what I'm talking about.
24. People in England may have noticed this, but I think it is downright annoying that the dubbed DBZ episodes shown on cartoon network have been edited to the extremes in England. I have seen American dubbed episodes, such as Final Atonement, where Trunks and Goten get punched in the stomach, (and head) it is not edited out, but in England the moments of impact are edited out and replaced by someone staring at Vegeta (or any other character, this is simply an example). This happens all the time in fight scenes. I find this highly annoying that English Dragonball Z fans have their episodes edited so much. Are the rules just far more relaxed in America?
25. Well technically the videos on AMV websites contain illegal material, unless they have gained permission from the company who produces the anime. But yes, I also reccomend adobe premiere 6.0, has some brilliant options and is relatively easy to use even if you've never tried making an AMV before.
